a redraw of my very first mcyt fanart!
I’m not gonna show the og because it was truly terrible, but I tried to keep mostly the same elements. It was from when I was deep into my flower husbands brainrot arc.
wishing everyone an extremely belated happy national dye your hair day! We’ve got all of our hair dye champ lifers celebrating the very serious and important holiday with a braid train except it’s actually a hair dye train.
Lizzie, just pick one and hop to it because Scott-with-his-roots-showing is deeply unsettling for unclear reasons. Also the reason Lizzie is dressed like that is because I headcannon that Joel got home from limited life and Lizzie was immediately like “the bad boys outfit is mine now btw”. Also Etho is paying literally zero attention to what’s going on. Also everyone currently getting dyed is wearing clothes they don’t care about as much or a towel to keep the dye from staining anything except for Joel because he can’t be bothered to change. Btw I know I’ve been falling off my bug Joel and glasses Etho game but im back, baby!
in other news I wasn’t able to go to the concert My Chem did cause it was on the literal other side of the country from me and I’m really sad like im gonna be whining about this for forever.
I’m returning to my roots as a smajor girly
been seeing a bunch of negativity and hate recently, and it makes me feel real icky, and you know what, screw that, let’s have some gosh darn positivity in this fandom!!!
Rahhhh we love you Scott Smajor both c and cc you are absolutely fabulous and deserving of love and appreciation rahhhh!
Also I’ve never seen anyone draw him with long hair and I think that’s a shame cause you know he would take such good care of it. /silly
Low quality doodles from my sketchbook
please don’t judge me. *disappears back to the pit of insanity from wence I came*
another wip! I’ve had this idea in my head for years now, but I’ve finally decided to draw it. I haven’t added color yet, and perhaps I will later, or perhaps I won’t, but I’m super proud of what I have so far!
Every time I hear the song Immortals by Fall Out Boy all I can think of is how perfectly it fits Limited Life. This, just the line art, took me three hours, and I was just like “screw this, I’ll post this as it is anyway” because I was bored out of my skull and my brain was melting out my ears. Also, I don’t recommend looking at the tags because there are about three hundred of them because apparently everyone has to have a name, a gamer tag, three nicknames, and their name next to the smp they’re in.
The song (even if this snippet doesn’t include most of the part of the song I’m focusing on here):
You might have heard this song in the movie Big Hero 6!
edit: for some reason it only lets me have a certain amount of tags before it deletes the rest, so I guess everyone will have to settle with just one or two tags per person. Seriously. They have so many different tags that tumblr had to cut me off. Why is this fandom like this!?!!??!!? /j (but still I had to cut down on ALL the tags and it was a pain, and there’s still a bunch even majorly reduced)
Random origins headcanons
Wilbur leans firmly into the whole “ghost” bit now, but when he was younger, being called a ghost kinda rubbed him the wrong way. He firmly believes that, while phantoms are real and based in science, “ghosts” are not and he’s conducted several investigations into their existence to prove it. However he still enjoys ghost-hunting as an activity to do with friends, even if he knows it’s a pointless venture. Everyone else is just amused by the existence of a ghost-hunting ghost.
Adding onto this post, Fundy occasionally spits things up by accident. Everyone could be chilling around the Pube, relaxing after a hard day’s work, when Fundy starts choking on his drink and next thing you know Scott discovers what happened to his fortune 3 diamond pick that went missing. If Fundy steals something from you and you’re desperate enough to get it back, just pick him up and start squeezing him like a squeaky toy. You might not find exactly what you’re looking for, but you’re sure to get plenty of other random shit.
Also Fundy’s body works with absolute cartoon logic- to store larger items in his stomach he can unhinge his jaw, and as he swallows it his body will momentarily retain the shape of the object before shrinking back down to its normal size.
Charlie is semi-solid, so he can also store things inside himself by just shoving them through his skin, but they always get covered in slime. Also unwanted things can end up in there so sometimes he’ll just be walking around full of rocks and twigs, maybe a squirrel or two.
Ranboo has noodle arms which he can extend the length of at will.
If he’s out at night or while it’s raining, Tubbo gets really weak and tired and sometimes just passes out. One time Ranboo got caught in the rain and forgot about this, so he messaged Tubbo asking him if he could bring an umbrella. He waited beneath a tree for nearly thirty minutes before Tubbo finally came slowly buzzing up, handing him the umbrella before immediately passing out. Ranboo, grateful but a bit exasperated, carried him home beneath one arm.
Tommy compulsively makes flower crowns when he’s upset (which is pretty often). Tubbo has a chest full of them and is almost always wearing one (for the saturation ofc).
The only way for Tommy to sneak up on someone is by slow-falling onto them because his chicken talons click every time he walks.
Jack has “hair” like Hades from the Disney Hercules movie- it’s a little flame on the crown of his head that can be extinguished, leaving him bald. Jack honestly doesn’t mind it when his hair goes out, but everyone else finds it hilarious for some reason.
Jack’s glasses are prescription because netherfolks’ eyes are generally more sensitive to bright light.
Scott’s eyes normally glow, but when he gets paralyzed and blinded by damage they temporarily fizzle out. Also when he falls back to earth after using his jump boost, he sometimes gets a little comet tail trailing behind him.
Scott likes to hang out both on the roof of the Pube and near the void because the unobstructed view of the stars reminds him of home.

It's interesting how like each of the winners in each iteration of the Life Series can be simplified into caricatures of themselves from the PoV of us the viewers or the deities that I'm not bothered to name but is essential to the lore (cough cough). From each victor and their tragedies forms stories intertwined across participants and other seaons.
Starting with Grian, as the first victor and the organiser of sorts he is like one of isakei tropes but he doesn't get hit by a truck. He is like the playtester or control experiment to see if the games are a success or not, and considering the amount of attention the Life Series garnered during its first season, he was the successful victor pathing for the next to come.
Scott, the winner of Last Life, is the like the poster child of rebellion to the Watcher's perspective. A nuisance that challenges the boundaries of the game but also a player who is still under their influence and can be replaceable in a way. Someone who despite keeping his alliances and promises with his the other participants still wins fairly.
PearlescentMoon on the otherhand is a tragedy in Double Life. With a gimmick that's supposed to pair you with someone compatible and then being rejected by that one someone who was once your teammate would be the first blow to Pearl. But then been surrounded by others who seemingly have their soulmates figured out, it just emphasises the loneliness that you seem to carry. When you finally team again, it's more out of an obligation to survive and conquer over the others. Eventually ending in a dillema where it's only you can win but not both. So essentially Pearl's season was a tragedy of loneliness and isolation that caused by the distrust of others towards her being an omen of death and chaos.
Martyn's arc, compared to Scott was that he was stuck in history. From his time in Dogwarts with Ren influencing his playstyle and his clothing to his time back in Evo, his history just parts Martyn's storyline through Limited Life. Even as he slaughtered the others in the finale in a mindless bloodlust, it was because of his involvment with the Watchers and Listeners that caused him to become the poster-child for the Watchers. A moldable victor for their entertainment.
GTWScar in Secret Life is the misunderstood villian. An antagonisitc force because of the involvement of the Secret Keeper. A playtoy that the uppermanagement used and quickly discarded because of his involvement with Grian. An ever-hopeful force that drags Grian back onto the orbit and away from the Watchers. Yet to him, Grian is the Sun that he captivates him.
Finally Joel or Smallishbeans, he is the uncontrollable and rebellious comedian of sorts that did what Scott couldn't do. He was able to push and persist against the boundaries and didn't fall under the Watcher's influence. He was almost a complete pacifist towards others and his teammate and alliances and only then like the other victors, did he win.

pt.39 lmao 13 more to go of thoeries and headcannions I haven't really watched scotts pov yet so most of my information is like hedacannons and stuff oof unfortunately idk what to write for real life as it kinda being short gives me barely enough information and I havent ven watched cleos pov so even bigger oof
So Joel's car, beating all other celestial beings and other representations has become the defining symbol of his victory by outbeating the other depictions that include Jupiter (black hole too) from celestial beings and charriot from tarot cards (I'm not sure). Compared to all the other symbols of previous winners, Joel's theme is outlandish against all the other astral bodies.
But besides this contradictory stylisation, Joel's symbol does fit his and the cast of the Life Series' rebellion against the higher beings or the Watchers. With Wild Life being more passive compared to seasons like Limited Life or Last Life, the main objective could be boiled down to surviving against the enviornment/nature compared to surviving against players. With these wildcards that proved to be deadly even when peaceful, the players objectives were mainly on surviving together then compared to antagonizing each other until around the last sessions where PvP was mandatory to win. This would've angered the Watchers with the disruption of their eight week-long feast. So the symbol could be a lasting effect of a Fuck-you to the Watchers by playing unprecedentedly but still winning.
But another instance of definace is earlier in the Life Series where death and betrayal was rampant in Last Life yet Scott still remained loyal and disregarded the laws of the Boogeyman. And yet even as the Watchers tried to punish him, he still won fairly gaining him the representation of not just a singular star, but whole star systems. Him being an embodiment of the possibility of the players to rebel against the system that brought them there. Him being the person that planted the seeds of rebellion that sprouted into Joel with depictions of his car in multiple fanarts (I can't find rip) of essentially crashing the Watchers and leaving them in disarray.

pt 37 thrs and hdcnns im back
So new Life Series brings new biomes, new teams and new skins that brings new lore to the participants of the Life Series. With the first episode of Wild Life been aired about a week ago, two new developments regarding two contestant's skin has been made. Specifically Pearl's new transistional skin change and BigB's cross-hybrid development into a creaking-esque skin.
Starting with BigB's skin changes, ever since the 20th of October where he began reposting artworks depicting him as a creaking reminiscence of his basing location in the Creaking Forest, a new skin has been released depicting his change to a Creaker. Changes from his original Life Series skin includes desaturated and greyscaled skin, inclusion of muted greens and oranges and yellow to highlight mainly his eyes and the creaking heart lodged between his right ribcage. Similar to the Creaking, BigB also does have striking similarities to the actual biome with the oranges possibly representing resin and eyeblossom flowers arriving to the biomes in the next drop. It would be fitting because quite literally, his right arm has turned into wood, possibly because of the creaking heart that has mutated his body to acclimate to his new enviornments.
Next, Pearl's new provisional skin that seems to be a transistional period between her Hermticraft Season 8 skin and her 5am Pearl persona. An unusual break in trend as generally she would use her Scarlet Pearl skin during the last few sessions of the Life Series. Well in her twitter post that first leaked her new skin on the 23rd, she was seen with Impulse in his classic Life Series skin that seems to be the west of their base according to rough estimates for the Wild Life map. She and Impulse are also seen with torches so it's a safe estimate that they're lighting the area to prevent other mobs from spawning in the heavily darkened forests near their and BigB's base.
It could be just a temporary change because the most recent wildlife that resulted in the first demise of the server, but that would still leave her with five lives. Far from yellow or even red lives range where 5am Pearl would essentially control Pearl's mentality and sanity.
But reasoning could run deeper than that. Ever since her introduction to the Life Series back in Last Life, Pearl dawns her Hermitcraft Season 8 skin with majority of the colours being subsituted for red and her eyes also gaining red highlights to signify her red-life status. This pattern of wearing her red-life skin was kept throughout every season up to Secret Life but Double Life where certain events occurred.
Specifically the severing of her bond with her soulmate Scott, during the first few sessions resulting in the formation of the Divorce Quartet and the beginning of her torment and rampage as Scarlet Pearl. Her pain further continued from the death of her dog Tilly, and causing others to view her as crazy and demented from her irrational behaviour. Her relationship with the other members of the Divorce Quartet continued to waver until endgame where they all teamed for the benefit of their individual survival. It was until the second icarnation of Tilly was burned by Impulse where Pearl began on a true rampage by slaughtering both Impulse/Bdubs and Cleo/Martyn. Eventually being crowned victorious after Scott sacrificed himself.
This carries into Wild Life where Pearl allied with the Divorce Quartet but with the abscence of Martyn and the addition of Impulse. So perhaps her transitional skin could be Pearl's reminder of her troublesome past with her quartet. But as a transitional period, her Scarlet phases only remain as a irksome reminder about what she could became isolated again. She's now surrounded with healthier support network with a new ancestor of Tilly being around as Billy and as well others like her allies who she reconciled with and Impulse.
These support networks could halt the reappearance of early 5am Pearl through the supportive and healthy relationships surrounding her.

So this weekly theory brought by yours truely recovered explores the journey and character development Impulse experiences throughout the multiple iterations of the Life Series. His passage throughout the five (technically six) canonical seasons stretches and continues Impulse's storyline and relationships dedicated to his allies, enemies, teammates and soulmate.
Beginning with Third Life, Impulse was often deemed as the betrayer and an informant for the Crastle against the Red Army. Severing the relationships built between the members of Dogwarts as the supplier and eventually eliminating the final life of an once fellow teammates Etho, during the finall battle of Dogwarts. Poetically, Impulse was slaughtered by his ally, who was offered a clock for loyalty and a guarantee into the finishing three. Finishing fifth, Impulse also seems to be short of conquering the other contestants and becoming victorous; a trend that carries across multiple seasons.
In the subsequent season, Last Life, Impulse joined Southlanders with an astounding total of five members but all the more potential for betrayal. Beginning as the scavanger for the Southlanders, Impulse was able to steal sugarcane from the Scottage and other bases thus disrupting the other teams' potential for a sugarcane monopoly. The tranquility between his team is soon lost in the later sessions where Mumbo proceeds to sabotage Impulse whilst visiting his ghast farm resulting in his yellow life lost and implosion of the Southlanders shortly after. Even with his band of brahathers, betrayal still lingered with Impulse and even with his teammates of his. The soulbounded otherwise known as the Canary's Miner (Mumbo).
The following season Double Life, bonded the participants into groups of two resulting in their health bar being shared across all the sessions. Impulse's randomised pairing was ironically with Bdubs, the trusted who backstabbed the betrayer. Past history aside, both contestants were the first soulbound to find each other establishing the bond and trust between them and managed to secure third place in the final battle against the Divorce Quartet.
The trails of betrayal still continue through Limited Life where in the stand-off between the final three opponments including Scott and Martyn and all three decided to find the victor with an equal solution. Instead, Martyn overcome by the bloodlust of time, first burnt Scott and then annihilated Impulse with his sword before he could recover from the shock of the broken treaty.
The subsequent and current (canon) season of the Life Series, Secret Life was the turnaround for Impulse's continuous promblem of betrayal plaguing him and his allies. Teaming with Gem and Scott, he was able to devote himself and keep a strong alliance that sustained his trust and their trust in him. This trust strengthened over the season until near the end of the season where both him and Scott sacrificed their yellow-life status to lengthen Gem's health.
Throughout the entirety of the Life Series, Impulse had been burdened by the trail of betrayal leeching onto him, his teammates and allies until it was finally gone. Slowly degenerating over the course of the following installments. His story and character development once etched with betrayal now only retain the tragedies of his doomed attempts to become an established victor.
Aight ranting time, can we appreciate how revolutionary Double Life was for the Life Series fandom.
The introduction of the soulbound mechanic introduced another potential method to interact and collaborate with different members of the community. In the previous canon Life Seires, most alliances were built of the members previously collaborating or being close friends (for majority of alliances, and this is not discounting that all the participants of the Life Series weren't already friends), but with the randomized pairing of Double Life, it forced new collaborations and interactions. Resulting in the mechanic transferring into the fandom's version of their Double Life, Woven Life.
Involving dozens of participants from authors, artists and animators such as rusty_courage, cherrifire, xmaruu, kitsuneisi, mudboowl etc.
(Non RPF)
But what stirred up the fandom into an absolute frenzy was the shipping potential of Double Life. We had Box Boys (Ren and BigB), the Homewreckers (Bdubs and Impulse) which were previously a ship in Hermitcraft and the Divorce Quartet (Pearl, Martyn, Scott and Cleo) which were pretty substanial new pairs but don't scale to the sheer amount of popularity the subsequent pairing recieved/s.
We got Scarlet Pearl which is not a ship but a fan favourite persona with her pairing with Tilly.
We got Boat Boys which are Joel and Etho which was a due no one initially expected but blew up to the fascinating dynamic they had.
Then we got Desert Duo again after the escapades of Third Life which produced lore upon lore of angst and tension which further fueled the shipping train for Scarian.
And finally we got the Ranchers, Team Ranchers or Rancher Duo consisting of Tango and Jimmy. Another pair the fandom did not expect but are instantly attached to. The amount of potential and ideas from this duo grew in number from their light-hearted dynamic to the angsty moments in the subsequent sessions was intense. Lore-wise, their pairings were eventually reunited during the Hermits x Empires Crossover in Season 9.
So basically Double Life was big for the Life Series fandom.
