So I think it’s pretty Interesting how, like, when “The Naked and the Dead” confirmed Scout’s death in 1987
I remember the Fandom’s reception to be… fairly accepting. Like, obviously none of us were happy Scout was gonna die young - but most of the reactions I saw (and I had) were trying to look at the positive side of, like ‘well, he lives a very dangerous life, making it to 1987 is an achievement….At least we know he’ll make it to a good place after the passes away…”
But now…
Now that we saw Scout grow up and become a father and find a better life than running around shooting people in the badlands
I think that made the confirmation of his death a lot more retroactively heartbreaking…
