Baylan Skoll is one of the best Star Wars characters in a long time, I'm very much one of those people that has only really been able to get enjoyment out of Andor and TLJ as far as live action sW goes these days, but there are some things I've really been enjoying about Ahsoka. First of all, the choreography is actually GOOD. It feels like there's a different rhythm to each battle due to various fighting styles being shown, we see guard switches in tense standoffs like with Ahsoka vs Baylan and its dope and reminds me of this series' kurosawa roots. Baylan is super interesting and I love how the mercenaries bounce off our main two chars. And I am Shin Hati's strongest soldier just on account of her being really cool I love and support evil women

A/N: Hello everyone! I'm back with another multichapter story! This one is a canon divergence AU where Shin became Asajj Ventress' apprentice and Sabine became Fennec Shand's apprentice. As the two bounty hunters keep meeting, so do our girls. Here is an extract from the first chapter and if you want to read all of it, the link will be at the end!
Whatever conversation the thugs were having with the little girl was interrupted when the sound of Ventressâ boots echoed around them. The three thugs turned back to see her emerging from the shadow.
âAre you going to kill a child for a handful of screws?â she asked.
âIs she yours?â the thug holding the girl asked.
âSheâs not. Call me a concerned bounty hunter.â
âShe stole from our stash. Nobody steals from the Bolts. Nobody.â
âAinât that what bounty hunters do anyhow?â another thug told her, failing to be intimidating. âHunting down thieves?â
Ventress stood in front of them, arms crossed. The kid looked at her with pleading eyes, green and bright with tears. Ventress would never let anyone call her soft, but she supposed that she must have mellow, at least a little, to be invested in the fate of this girl. She blamed Vos for most of it, and Omega, more or less.
âPut the kid down. Let her go. Take your screws and get lost.â
âNo, we gotta teach her a lesson,â the lead thug insisted.
âYouâve spooked her enough. Let her go.â
âThis is none of your business.â
Ventress did not move, but her refusal to walk away was enough for the thugs. The leader motioned for her with his head, and the other two converged on her, fists raised. Ventress sighed. They were going to regret it.
The first thug closed in on her with a punch. She dodged it with ease and kneed him in the stomach. Before he could recover, she grabbed his arm and dislocated it out of his shoulder. He fell to the ground crying. The second thug stepped back as he became more hesitant to attack. He glanced at his boss who huffed and threw the girl at his feet to motion for Ventress again.
âWhat are you waiting for?â he told his companion.
Reluctantly, the second thug charged her. She avoided his punch too and kicked his knee, snapping the patella in half. He hit the ground with a yelp, holding his broken leg. Ventress turned to the third thug, who pulled out a blaster on her. She was unimpressed, until he pointed the blaster at the girlâs head.

A/N: Hello everyone! I'm back with a new multichapter story, loosely inspired by "Portrait of a Lady on Fire." It's a Painter/Model AU set in 19th century France. Here is an extract but if you want to read the whole first chapter, the link will be at the end!
Shin was surprised to find a young woman, perhaps a few years older than her, sat at a squared table against the wall. A notepad and a box of charcoal stencils took up most of the table, her empty glass of wine pushed to the edge, so close that it threatened to fall off. She was sketching something. She focused on the page for a moment, then looked up. Her brown gaze met Shinâs through the window, and Shin realized that she had been sketching her. The artist avoided her eyes. Shin stared back for another second, then turned away to look at the water cascading in front of her.
Her fingers dug into the sleeve of her dress. She had run out of desperation, without a plan, but now that she was faced with the reality of what she had done, she knew she needed to come up with a plan. She would not survive long on her own, with no money and nothing but a name she could not use. Of course, there were ways for women to make money in this world, places for them to find refuge, but she would rather not think of it.
She was still pondering where to go, where she could stay in this huge city that she had so rarely visited in her life before, when she heard the door to the cafĂ© open once more. She did not look to her side, at first, not until she notice that someone had come to stand beside her. She turned her head, and her eyes met the curious gaze of the artist. She was wearing manâs clothes, brown overalls over an off-white shirt. Her head was covered by an old flat cap. She had tugged the sleeve of her notepad under her arm. With the other, she pulled out a pipe from her pocket.
âI knew I should have taken a coat before going out,â she said, her tone amused, as if she were trying to make Shin laugh.
Shin rolled her eyes, not in the mood to talk. The artist tugged her pipe between her lips and pulled out a matchbook. She lit a match and brought it to the edge of the pipe, puffed a couple of times, then shook the match out, throwing it into a puddle. The aromatic smell of tobacco surrounded Shin. It smelled better than the one her father smoked.
âYours is a story Iâd love to know.â
âIâm not in the mood to talk,â Shin replied, her tone like vinegar.
âI donât mean to be impolite, I promise. Just not every day you see a drenched bride standing around here.â
âWasnât drawing me without my permission enough for you already?â
The artist only shrugged. She tugged the pipe between her lips once more and reached for her notepad. Unclasping the leather cover, she opened to show some of the sketches she carried. After a second, Shin glanced. The young woman had sketched some of the patrons inside the bar, talking, laughing, reading, one of the waiters carrying a tray. She was the final sketch, the back of her as she stood there, the waves and dips of her dress as water dripped off it.
âI thought it was a challenging thing to draw,â the artist mumbled around her pipe. âSketches are just training, itâs not to show anyone. If I offended you, my lady, I apologize.â

A/N: Hello everyone! I'm back with a new canon divergence Star Wars story. This one is set in the first half of season 4 of Rebels. Today I have the prologue for you, but if you want to read more, the link will be at the end and the first chapter will be up on Saturday! Enjoy!
The ash was so thick it clogged Morganâs eyes, coated her tongue and settled in her lungs. There was nothing left but the dead bodies of her sisters, left to rot on the mountainside. The little homes, dug into the orange stone, had all been ransacked. The elevators had been destroyed and Morgan had to climb the harsh cliff by hand. When she reached the top, Dathomirâs bright red sun was only a flicker choked in the smoke that still filled the air.
Despair was like a claw, buried deep in Morganâs throat, tearing the breath out of her with each step she took through her village. She brushed back tears. Her search grew frantic as she upturned broken doors and cleared shattered jars, to find lifeless bodies, again and again. She couldnât be the only one, she told herself. It was impossible. Someone else must have survived this massacre. She had to believe that someone else had, or she would crumble.
A muted whine snapped her out of her frenzy. It had come from one of the houses on the other side of the village. She rushed to it, jumping over a broken fence in her haste. When she stopped in front of the house, a torn curtain hung in her way. Morgan was breathing fast, not just from her sprint but also from anticipation. She stood by the curtain a moment and focused her hearing as she tried to confirm that the sound had come from inside. She heard nothing. She swallowed her bitterness, refusing to believe she had imagined it.
She brushed the curtain aside. Within, the house was as much a mess as any other. The table had been flipped to the side. Singed blaster marks burned the walls. It was quite dark, as every torch and even the oven had long since been snuffed out. Morgan conjured a green flame in her palm to bring some light into the small house.
âIs anyone here?â she called.
Movement to her left caught her attention. When her light illuminated the corner, she saw another girl, just a few years younger than her. Her pale face was stricken with tears. She curled up on herself at first, quite frightened, but as soon as she saw Morgan, saw her red clothes and the tattoo on her forehead, the teenager threw herself in her arms.
Morgan was stunned, at first, but after a second, she snuffed out the fire in her hand to return the embrace. She felt the girl sobbing against her shoulder. She wanted to cry too, but she had to be strong. She swallowed her tears and held the girl while she cried. Immense relief fell on Morgan like a meteor. Someone else had survived. Someone else had been spared.

A/N: Hello everyone! I wrote a crossover between Skeleton crew and Wolfwren! It's just as fun as the original show but with our favorite girls to supervise the kids (or at least try to). Here is the beginning and if you want to read the whole chapter the link will be at the end!
Raising a kid â even a smart kid like Uschi â took a lot more energy that either Sabine or Shin had assumed. A year had passed since theyâd decided to take care of her, and already Sabine felt ten years older. It seemed others had also noticed her tiredness. When her birthday came around, her family gave her a weekend at a spa and resort. She obviously took Shin with her, and while Uschi begged them to come to â puppy eyes and pouts and all â for once Sabine didnât feel bad leaving her behind. The resort did not accept children, so Uschi had to stay with Hera.
Lanupa was a large, cold planet covered with mountains. If the coordinates leading to the resort hadnât been so precise, Sabine knew they could have spent the weekend searching for it. They were almost there when two security drones came to guide them.
âWelcome to Lanupa, A neutral planet where all are welcome if they keep the peace. Violators will be shot down,â said the robotic voice that hailed them.Â
âThey donât joke around with security,â Shin commented.
âPlease be advised that children are not allowed. Do you have a reservation?â
âOh no, we have a reservation,â Sabine replied as she leaned back into her seat and let the auto piloting sequence take the ETA-class shuttle to the landing pad.
Beside her, Shin had sunk into her seat, arms crossed. Or maybe we do have a child, Sabine thought with amusement. It wasnât that Shin didnât welcome a restful weekend, but mostly that a spa was not Shinâs idea of relaxation. Slicing up a bunch of bad guys with her lightsaber was Shinâs idea of relaxation. Sabine had had to cajole her into coming with her â and mostly sell her the idea of all they could do in a big hotel bed without a kid in the vicinity â to convince her to come. Shin had wanted to stay and watch over Uschi, at first. Sabine suspected she also had a bit of separation anxiety. How things had changed.
Their shuttle was taken to a large, circular landing pad at the edge of the resort. Looking out the window, Sabine could see the star-shaped resort sat atop a snowy mountain, and the pools of steaming, volcanic water down below. As she waited for their ship to land, she wondered whether Krownest would make a good spa and resort. Turning her ancestral home into a resort would most likely get her on Bo-Katanâs bad side.
The shuttle landed with a shake, and Sabine unbuckled her seatbelt and went to pick her up their traveling bags. Shin took another second to get out of her seat before joining her. Sabine placed a hand on her cheek, drawing her close and not allowing her to step away until she had looked her in the eyes.
âHey, stop pouting. You look like Uschi when she wants ice cream.â

A/N: Hello everyone! On this very special day, my birthday, I'm starting my new multichapter story! It's just the movie Holidate with Wolfwren (and a few twists). Here is the beginning of the first chapter, and if you want to read the whole story the link will be at the end!
As soon as Sabine came downstairs, she felt a dozen looks of pity on her. She ignored them as best as she could, which was difficult when she hadnât had her coffee yet. It was almost lunch time anyway, and most everyone was gathered in the kitchen. She had to slither between Zeb and his very broad frame and the kitchen isle where Hera was making yet another batch of gingerbread cookies. The smell of them was almost enough to turn Sabineâs stomach. Usually, she would have been excited for more of Heraâs famous Christmas cookies, but nothing felt like Christmas today.
This was supposed to be her Christmas. After six years of dating Ketsu, Sabine had long since thought that this was it. She didnât care whether they got married or not, only that Ketsu was definitely the love of her life. Then, sheâd found an engagement ring very poorly hidden â Ketsu had always been terrible had hiding stuff â in one of her drawers. And of course, Sabine had been excited, and sheâd told everyone about her find in the family chat. It had been a huge mistake. Turned out, Ketsu had been good at hiding some things after all. Right before December, she had packed everything out of their apartment and left Sabine.
The coffee machine was in no hurry to fill her mug, forcing Sabine to linger in the kitchen, foot tapping impatiently. She knew everyone was staring at her back, but she refused to acknowledge them. Just because they wanted to pity her didnât mean that she had to pity herself. She didnât. Good fucking riddance was her opinion. Sheâd never had more space in the apartment. And it wasnât like she was alone on Christmas. She had them. Her family.
Piping hot mug of coffee in hand, she left the kitchen without a word and entered the living room. There, she found Ezra and Jacen on the carpet, working on a pretty big Lego set.
âYouâve opened your presents already?â she said, astound.
Usually, Sabine was always there to snap a hundred pictures of the little boy opening his presents.
âMom said it was fine,â Jacen replied. âI didnât want to wait until you were awake.â
âWhy didnât you wake me up?â
âWe figured you needed the rest,â Ezra replied, like Sabine needed his opinion, or some rest, or whatever they all seem to think that she needed, which she didnât.
âIâm fine. I just want to enjoy a Christmas with my family. Is it too much to ask?â
A/N: Hello everyone! I'm back with a new multichapter story, this one is a Firefighter AU. Here is an extract and if you want to read the whole chapter the link will be at the end!
When Old Jho pushed the glass back in front of her, Sabine took a sip then said:
âI donât think Iâve seen you here before.â
The blondeâs attention turned to her. She had cold, piercing green eyes, almost blue in the dim bar. Her lips were set in a neutral line, as if she didnât quite care to engage Sabine in conversation. Sabine added:
âNew recruit?â
The blonde shrugged.
âNot really. Reassigned.â
âBad captain or need for a change of scenery?â
âNeither. Donât get used to seeing me around here anyway. Itâs only a matter of time before I get reassigned again.â
The blonde picked up her drink and finished it. Sabine watched her with a slight frown. She assumed the blonde was a temp, shifted from station to station to fill in whenever someone had to take a leave.
âWell, I hope you enjoy your time on this side of the city.â
She raised her glass as a welcoming gesture, then took another sip. The blonde motioned for Old Jho to give her another drink. While they waited, Sabine thought sheâd introduced herself.
âIâm Sabine.â
âShin,â the blonde replied curtly.
âAre you alone tonight? No welcome crew from the station trying to show you a good time?â
Shin shrugged.
âWhatâs the point? Like I said, Iâll be gone in a few weeks.â
âYou never try to make friends with people in your station?â
Shin shook her head.
âHow about people from other stations?â Sabine asked in a low voice.
Shin must have gotten her meaning, as her eyes roamed down Sabineâs face, to her plaid shirt and jeans. Sabine smirked. When Shinâs eyes returned to her, she was smirking too. Sabine liked where this was going.
A/N: Hello everyone! Merry Christmas! This year, I decided to write a sequel to one of my earlier stories, "In this Short Life..." wherein Sabine is a singer and Shin a professional snowboarder. This is just a whole lot of Christmas fluff so I hope you'll enjoy it! Here is the beginning and the link to the full story will be at the end!
The sun was setting when Sabineâs plane landed. Winter so high up north made the days goes by in a flash. Sabine remembered it well from her childhood in Alaska. Dare she say that some winters, she missed the early nights and the snow. She certainly had the previous year, when she had celebrated Christmas with Hera and her family in Palm Spring. But this year, Shin had invited her to spend the end of year with her in Norway, and Sabine was quite excited.
She carried sunglasses and a cap to hide herself, but it seemed this far north not a lot of people cared that a platinum album artist was waiting at baggage claim with them. Stavanger had the advantage of being a fairly small airport compared to Heathrow, where she had taken her correspondence to Norway. Everyone was just staring at the turnstile, not at their neighbor. She texted Shin as she waited. Her girlfriend told her she was at the arrival gate just waiting for her. Sabine was really excited to see her again. It had been months since they had seen each other. Sabine had been busy with her tour and Shin with practice. The national selection for the winter Olympics was coming up, and Sabine was a little excited about it. Maybe even more than Shin seemed.
In short, they had both been busy. They had made long-distance work for almost two years now, and Sabine was thinking this vacation could be the beginning of the next step for them.
Sabineâs suitcase rounded the corner of the turnstile and she swept it up. No guitar this time. She wasnât there for work, even though she knew Shin liked to hear her play. Sabine did not want to think about music for the next two weeks, at least. She had just grabbed the handle to drive it toward the exit when her phone rang out. It was Hera. Sabine picked up swiftly.
âHey, I just landed. Can I call you back?â
âI just wanted to make sure youâd survived the London airport. It looks like you had quite a blast.â
Sabine frowned.
âWhat do you mean?â
âThereâs a video of you singing All I Want for Christmas is You on the airport piano. Itâs already approaching ten million views. Should I call the studio, offer up a Christmas album for next year?â
Sabine sighed. Sheâd thought the performance would placate the people swarming her for an autograph. She hadnât expected people to be filming.
âAlright, Iâm exiting the baggage claim, goodbye Hera.â
âBye Sabine. Say hi to Shin for me.â
Sabine had just hung up when she passed through the arrival door. A handful of people were waiting for their friends and family members. Sabine looked around for Shin. At first, she could not spot her girlfriend. Then, she saw her emerge from behind a bouquet of roses. It was quite a big bouquet and had probably cost a fortune. Sabine smiled and ran up to her. She pulled Shin into a hug. Shin barely had a moment to raise the bouquet above her head before it became trapped between them.
âHello my dashing knight,â Sabine joked.
A/N: Hello everyone! I'm back with a new Wolfwren multichapter story! This one is inspired by Agathario. Shin is a witch on the run from her coven, Sabine just came out of a magic sword Shin stole. Here is the beginning, and if you want to read the whole story, the link will be at the end!
Without a sound, Shin reached for her covenâs ancestral sword on the wall. She tugged it in her sash and left the meeting house. Outside, the morning was still gray. The sunlight was blocked by the horizon. Shinâs coven lived at the top of a mountain, and the village was usually flooded with sunlight all day long. By the time the first rays scurried through the locked shutters of her coven sisters, Shin hoped she would be very far from here.
Though she had been born in this coven, the Coven of the Great Mothers, and raised with all the other witches her age, Shin had never felt like she belonged. She didnât know who her mother was â no one knew who their mothers were â but somehow, everyone knew that her father wasnât one of the covenâs brothers. That he had been a human outside of the coven. That somehow, this made her weaker than the others. Shin was not weak.
Shin wrapped her cape around herself to brace herself against the cold morning air as she left the village and began her descend down the hundreds of steps to the forest below. She didnât look back. She would not regret leaving, she knew. The narrow steps had been dug out of the mountainâs side. There was no railing. The wind sheered the stone around her. Shin held her cape more firmly, though the bottom still snapped against her ankles.
The stairs led to a cave that Shin knew she would have to traverse if she wanted off the mountain. Within was the village of the brothers. They werenât part of the coven, technically, though they were kept around for a variety of reasons. Mostly, they spent their days hunting and gathering food. They lived in the dark bowels of the mountain. Shin could only see the fire of the torches that illuminated the little village. At first, she thought they let the torches burn through the night, then she saw movement.
She jumped to hide against the nearest house. When she peaked out, she saw one of the brothers replacing the torches, bathing the village in the new golden glow of fire. They would be off hunting soon, she assumed. She had to go now, or they might spot her. She chastised herself. She should have thought about it. She waited until the brother walked away to run past him. She tried being quiet and quick, but it was difficult. Her footsteps still echoed on the stone streets, and around the cavernous village. She did not stop, did not look back to make sure that she wasnât being followed. Instead, she rushed to the exit.
Outside, the sun had broken past the horizon. Its orange glow blinded her. Shin had to rub her eyes a few times before she could continue her descent. At the foot of the mountain was a luscious forest that seemed to expand with no end in sight. Shin had not packed any food with her. Aside from the sword she had stolen, her only possessions were a waterskin and a knife. She would have to hunt to survive, but she was ready. Anywhere but her coven.
A/N: Hello everyone! Can't believe @wolfwrenweek is over already! For my final story this year, I have a roommate AU where Sabine finds a stray kitten. It's very fun, and I hope you'll all enjoy it! Here is the beginning and the link to the rest of the story will be at the end!
Shin started watching TV just as the rain started falling. As she was immersed in the plot of the show, she did not notice the sky blackening to the point that the apartment was plunged in darkness. She heard the rain pick up in intensity, but did not see the flashes of thunder outside, as they merged with the bright glow of the TV.
The apartment door opened and she jumped. It took her a second to catch her breath. The familiar voice of her roommate made her feel like an idiot for having been spooked in the first place.
âWhat the hell is going on with this weather? Is it some kind of tropical storm sweeping north?â
Shin could not see Sabine in the hall, but she did not pay her any mind. It was rather typical of them to have short, meaningless conversations. Shin had moved into Sabineâs apartment six months ago now, but she had warned her ahead of time that she liked to do things her way, and she wasnât much for conversation. At the time, Sabine had told her it would be fine, yet still she attempted to make conversation very often.
Shin would not have paid her any more attention, in fact, if Sabine didnât turn on the living room light, blinding Shin. She blinked and squinted at her roommate.
âCould you not?â
âSorry.â
Sabine turned to go into her bedroom when Shin noticed that something was off. There was an unnatural budge in her sweater. The material was straining against her chest, which never happened because Sabineâs chest wasnât that big â not that Shin had spent any time thinking about her chest at all â and she was keeping a hand on it. She was hiding something.
âSabine? Whatâs that in your sweater?â
Sabine stopped dead in her tracks. She kept her back to Shin.
âNothing, donât worry about it.â
âIâm not an idiot.â
Sabine sighed, and turned around. Indeed, she was cradling something through her sweater.
âSo⊠how do you feel about cats?â she asked.
A/N: Hello everyone! How are you doing on this fine fourth day of @wolfwrenweek ? For today I have a pretty long 5+1 that I hope you will all enjoy! Here is the beginning and if you want to read the rest of the story, the link will be at the end!
It was around the time that the dragon spewed out a sharp tongue of ice that Shin knew she had probably made a mistake. The stark white ice dragon was bigger than she had planned, and with the sunlight shining off the fresh powdered snow, she couldnât quite look at her target. She jumped out of the way of its tail and rolled into the snow with a huff.
The voice of the armorer who had hired her for the dragon scales echoed in her mind. Sheâd told her it was probably a multiple-person job. Shin had scoffed at that. She was a powerful magic fighter. She carried one of the nine swords of Kyber. One ice dragon was nothing for her. As another blast of ice shattered the air above her head, she was reconsidering.
The dragonâs tail whipped past her once more. Shin dodged the blow then drew her sword. The blade ignited with orange fire. It drew the dragonâs attention right away. It roared into her face. Shin took a fighting stance. She would not die to an ice dragon, and she would not ghost her employer and run away. This dragon was going down.
The dragonâs crocodilian maw snapped at her. She held it back with magic, the sharp, needle-like teeth a few inches from her hand. She struck her sword against the dense, metal-like scales. The blade sparked, and the orange fire left a searing line over the white, but the dragon did not seem to care. It struck its claws at her. Shin rolled out of the way and slashed again. This time, she hit its wing, and tore the thin skin to shreds. The ice dragon roared again and its spiky tail whipped around. Shin tried to stop it, but all she could do was slow it down. It still pushed her to the ground and she stumbled into the snow with a groan.
The dragon loomed over her before she could stand back up. Its maw opened over her, and she saw the white spark of ice building at the back of its throat. She felt its terrible cold already. She could try to shield herself from the blast, but she was so close, she doubted it would do anything.
A crack of thunder distracted the dragon for a split second. A single bullet snapped through the air and hit the dragon in the eye. It reeled back with a terrible roar. Shin was too stunned to move. When she raised herself on her elbows, she spotted a mirage of colors running toward her. Only, when a second bullet snapped through the air and crashed against the dragonâs hard scales, Shin knew it wasnât a mirage.
âAre you okay?â the voice of a young woman shouted.
Shin didnât bother answering. She jumped back to her feet, grabbed her sword, and rushed after the dragon once more.
A/N: Hello everyone! Day 3 of @wolfwrenweek I can't believe we're already halfway through! Today's story is based on an idea that I've been toying with for a while, Rebel Shin. I hope you'll enjoy it! Here is the beginning and the link for the rest of the story will be at the end!
The instant the windows shattered in front of her, Shin knew the operation was impossible to salvage. She blamed it all on Sabine Wren. In fact, Sabine had thrown the explosive which had caused the windows to blow. As Shin fell on her back, pain corkscrewing her stomach, her hatred toward the other Rebel only grew.
âShin, come on. We donât have time for a nap.â
Shin huffed and did her best to get up with the Mandalorianâs help. If she looked down, she could see a piece of glass buried in her stomach. She was fairly certain they didnât belong there, though, as her head swam with warm anxiety, she wasnât certain of anything anymore.
Blaster shots zipped past them. Sabine whirled around to fire back at the stormtroopers while she guided Shin to the trap through which they had infiltrated the warehouse. Shin expected one of the shots to hit her back and burn through her, but the pain never came. Either Sabine was doing a mighty good job keeping them at bay, or the stormtroopers were even worse than usual.
As they reached the trap door, Shin couldnât find it in herself to bend and climb within. All she could do was let herself fall. Thankfully, the drop wasnât too long. Unfortunately, it was concrete. She fell on her side. The air was knocked out of her. She coughed up as she struggled to get back up. She had to check that the glass was still in her stomach, because it felt like her belly was wide open.
Sabine climbed in after her and shut the trap after them. She shot at the seal, securing the trap so none of the stormtroopers could follow. Then, she jumped off the ladder to help Shin up on her feet again.
âCome on. We canât linger here.â
How in the Force had their mission gone so poorly? Shin was supposed to retrieve supplies for the Hidden Path. It should have been an easy get-in and get-out situation. But then, the Rebellion had decided to help by sending one of their members to escort her. First off, how dare they think Shin needed an escort. She had accomplished many missions on her own. She didnât need anyone. Second, of all the people they could have picked, theyâd had to pick the most aggravating member they could find. The one person Shin wanted to avoid. Sabine Wren.
Sabine dragged her through the service tunnels. Shin could hear banging coming from behind them â or perhaps it was the pounding of her panicked heart in her ears. It didnât matter that this exit was sealed. There were many others, and the stormtroopers were sure to catch up with them. Shinâs feet shuffled on the ground as she tried to keep up with the speed Sabine was setting for them both. The stabbing pain in her stomach was making her dizzy. If she stumbled and crashed head first and pushed the pieces of glass fully into her stomach, would the pain stop? Sabine didnât allow her any chance to slip and fall, as she kept a firm grip on the sleeve of her shirt.
A/N: Hello everyone to day 2 of @wolfwrenweek My mouse is giving up on me but I never give up! This new story is a soulmate AU that I hope you will all enjoy! Here is the beginning and if you want to read the rest of the story the link will be at the end!
Sabine should have been used to bounty hunters by now. Between the ones sent by Thrawn and the ones who just happened to see the bounty notes, the crew of the Ghost was liable to be followed anywhere they went. But this one felt different.
She rushed down the city street, certain that the bounty hunter was still hot on her tail. The Ghost had been hiding behind the planetâs moon, and she knew that Hera was already sweeping down to collect her. All Sabine had to do was get on board before the bounty hunter caught her. Easy-peasy.
A blaster bolt echoed down the dark street and bounced off the back of her armor. Its strength unsettled her and she stumbled, then righted herself and sprinted away. Maybe not so easy. The hunter was on the rooftops to her left, keeping up with her. She hadnât had a good look at them, not in the darkened streets. It was ironic, since she had been the one who had destroyed their power plant to free the workers from the Empireâs work camp. Ezra and Zeb would be there now, helping them escape. Hera would pick them up after.
Another bolt missed her by an inch. Sabine was tired of this pesky bounty hunter. She whirled around and pulled out her blasters to retaliate. It was a bad idea, and exactly what the hunter had been waiting for her to do. Before she could squeeze the trigger, the blasters flew out of her hands and clattered onto the wet pavement. The hunter jumped from the roof and, without rope or jetpack, slowed their descend to land near her.
Sabine frowned. It couldnât be. Was this an Inquisitor, and not a bounty hunter as Sabine had thought? She had her answer when the hunter removed their big flowing robe and drew a lightsaber. Orange light flooded the street. Sabine had never seen a lightsaber this color before. She was also shocked to discover that the hunter after her was a teenage too, a blonde with a padawan braid and smudgy eyeshadow.
âGoing somewhere, Mandalorian?â
Freezing dread made Sabine shiver all over. Oh no. If the fact that she was being pursued by a lightsaber-wielding Force user was bad enough, sheâd just had to say those words, the words which had been stamped on Sabineâs side since she was born.
A/N: Hello everyone! How are you on this first day of @wolfwrenweek ? Here is my story for the first day, "The Moon" following as many of the prompts as I could fit! It's a Vampire smut so I hope you'll enjoy it! Here's the beginning of the story and if you want to read all of it the link will be at the end!
The dancefloor was packed with people. Despite the loud music blaring from every speaker, Sabine could hear each of their heartbeats, like a base that never dropped. She could taste the air, a combination of sweet alcohol and sweat that whetted her appetite. Sheâd never come to this club before, but Ezra had convinced her to journey specifically to this part of town to try it out. Heâd said the music was good and the alcohol better. She didnât care about alcohol, and so far, the music had been alright. What interested her more where the girls, and which one would be her next meal.
She had lost sight of Ezra in the crowd. No doubt he was dancing with someone. She ought to mingle too, she thought as she left her stool, leaving an untouched glass of club soda behind. As the new song began, she pressed her way into the crowd.
Some vampires hated crowded places. They said it was like tempting the devil. Sabine thought they just had weak resolve. She loved it. She enjoyed the anonymity of the crowd, pressed between other bodies, in the dark. Between the lights flashing above, the heat of everyone pressed together on the dancefloor, and the pounding of their heartbeats, so close to her, this was the appetizer, the perfect tease before a perfect meal.
Sabine tried to find a woman to dance with. She moved, step by step, around the crowd until she spotted someone that was interested in her. She was almost in the middle of the dancefloor when she felt eyes on her. It sent a shiver down her spine. Only one kind of person could cause such a response from her. She stopped dancing and turned.
She had migrated near the VIP booths, lavish velvet couches set on a raised platform on one side of the club. Now one woman was observing her from the booths. Not just observing her, glaring at her with cold, shining blue eyes. She had shoulder-length platinum hair and her glare was only intensified by black eyeshadow smeared all around her eyes.
âShit,â Sabine muttered to herself.
There was no time to find Ezra. She would text him later. She had to get out now.
She pushed her way through the crowd and off the dancefloor. She was on the other side of the entrance, but she saw a green sign shining in a corner, indicating an emergency exit. This was an emergency. She ran past the handful of tables on the side and followed the wall into a short corridor. It led to the bathrooms and the emergency exit. She expected it to be locked, but the door opened with ease. She stumbled outside into the summer air. It was barely any cooler than the inside of the club. A blanket of heat had fallen over the city two days ago and nothing could move it since. Sabine brushed the sweat off her face and turned around, shutting the club door with a sigh of relief.
She found herself in an alley. The clubâs wall behind her was made up of bricks plastered with band and festival posters. Across was the side of a store, and the bricks had been painted with a thick layer of white. A couple was making out pressed against the white bricks. As soon as they noticed Sabine standing near them, they pulled apart.
âThe fuck, dude?â the man groaned at her.
Sabine didnât even spare them a glance. She looked on either side of the alley. One side led to a bunch of dumpsters. The other shone orange with the light of a nearby streetlight. That was the direction the offended couple took, hand in hand, as they intended to continue their nastiness elsewhere. Sabine decided also to rejoin civilization. She was bound to find a taxi nearby.
âGoing somewhere?â
A/N: Hello everyone! I have a short fluffy one-shot for you today, before the marathon that Wolfwren week is going to be! Here is the beginning and if you want to read more the link will be at the end!
As Shin stepped into the bathroom, Sabine was already under the shower, one arm out as she felt the lukewarm water heating up. Shin was feeling out of sorts. They rarely showered together. It might seem strange. Their relation was so physical, but for some reason, they almost never shared a shower. When Sabine had asked her if she wanted to shower, Shin had thought for a second that it was a poorly veiled attempt at seducing her. But Sabine hadnât seemed like she had an ulterior motif.
Shin was still pondering the situation as she undressed, her back to the shower. She couldnât place that sudden nervous tension beneath her ribs. They had been dating for a while, she had seen Sabine naked plenty of time, and vice versa. There was something else that unsettled her. Still, she tried to ignore it. The shower was steaming now, and the bathroom was fogging up.
Once undressed, she opened the shower door and slid inside. It was a tight fit. Shin kept her arms wrapped around her chest. It would be impossible to move without knocking into Sabine, or the shower door, or the tray with all the bottles in the corner. She couldnât even stand under the showerhead properly, as half of the water cascaded over her waist. Shin was about to say that it had been a bad idea, that the shower was too cramp, and she would wait until Sabine was done to wash herself. Then, Sabine turned around.
âHi, there.â
She smiled at her that bright smile, like a crescent moon in the night sky. Shin remained rooted on the spot. If Sabine wanted to take a cramp shower, she would cooperate.
Sabine, ever perceptive, noticed the line of tension over Shinâs shoulders. She placed her hands on her arms. Shin felt the pads of her fingers press softly over the little scars there.
âAre you okay?â
âJust... cold,â Shin lied.
A/N: Hello everyone! I'm back after last week break with a Wolfwren vampire story! Fair warning it's a little bloody (and a little sexy). Here is the beginning and if you want to read the rest of the first chapter, the link will be at the end! Enjoy!
When Sabine had decided to change career, she really could have picked anything. But because she liked to make herself suffer, she became a nurse. And because she was so tightly wound with self-control, she became a nurse at the emergency services.
Working the night shift meant that she saw less kids who broke their legs falling off a trampoline and more people caught in drunk driving accidents and high as hell teenagers convinced they could jump from the roof and into the pool. In the early hours of the evening, she might see the tail end of people who had come to the ER in the afternoon, but by two in the morning, she was just waiting for the next car accident victims to roll in.
Her coworkers had gone to get a coffee while the room was relatively quiet. Sabine had declined the coffee, as usual. The other nurses usually made fun of her, telling her then she might be young now but give it a few years and she would be running through the night shift on coffee just like them. Jokes on them, Sabine was definitely older than them.
The call came through from one of the ambulances, and Sabine picked up since she was the only one at the nurseâs station.
âEmergency?â
âWe have another one for you. ETA 2 minutes.â
âCar crash?â
âPedestrian.â
Sabine expected the worse when pedestrians were hit by cars. A lot of blood, usually.
âWeâll be ready.â
She hung up and jumped into action. She rushed out of the ER, grabbing a gurney on the way there. She pushed it out and arrived outside just as the ambulance pulled out, lights blinking hard into the moonless night. The EMTs at the back pushed the door open so hard that it snapped against the truck. They transferred the patient from one gurney to the other. Sabine pushed the gurney back inside, helped by one of the EMTs.
âPressure is 125 over 75. Sheâs lost a lot of blood.â
âWhat happened?â
âShe got hit by a car while crossing, but the car had just been stopped at a red light.â
Sabine looked down at the woman whose broken arm was clutched against her chest. She had lost consciousness already. She had to focus to understand what she was looking at. The blood, as always, called all of her attention. All she saw, for a second, was red. Her throat began to itch. It was only through years of practice that she managed to push it all aside and see past the blood. Her radius was broken, the bone protruding through the skin like a shard of bloodied stone. She had a wound on the shoulder that required stitching as it leaked blood fast. The rest were superficial nips.
âShe was wounded already before the car?â Sabine deduced from the severity of the wounds and the EMTâs explanation.
âThe driver said he saw her stumble in front of him but he couldnât tell if she was bleeding or not.â
âWeâll take it from here.â
A/N: Hello everyone! Here comes the final story in the Wolf, the Wren and their Cub series! Here is the beginning and the link to the full first half of the story will be at the end!
It took six years to clear out the rubble of Sundari. Droids had to be rented from the New Republic to safely dismantle the taller buildings that loomed over the city, including what remained of the dome. The city was still regrowing, but Bo-Katan did not want to wait to clear out the ruins of the other cities. So, in the summer before she enrolled at Lothalâs Junior Academy of Arts and Sciences, Uschi volunteered to help clear out the ruins of Keldabe.
She hadnât exactly volunteered. It was more like a requirement to finally be added to the Song. Sabine thought she was ready to receive her armor and taker her oath, but she also thought Uschi needed to spend more time around other Mandalorians. So, she was joining a group of kids also about to receive their armor for their summer program, which consisted of forging â or in her case reforging â their armor and clearing out what remained of Keldabe.
Uschiâs team had been dispatched in the cityâs seventh quadrant, where the buildings had been ponded to the ground and nothing loomed above them, unlike in other parts of the city. They had been given shovels, but the bigger pieces usually required two or three of the pre-teens to work together. Delia, in her tall loader body, thrived here. She picked up the bigger pieces with ease and carried them to the truck as if they were made of foam.
âThey should make Delia an honorary Mandalorian,â Lae said as the droid walked past her.
âYeah, they should give her the armor instead of Uschi,â Eagis joked. âSheâs been twiddling her thumbs over there.â
Uschi glared at him. She decided to teach him a little lesson. She reached out her hand and Force lifted five large pieces of ruble, including the one Eagis had been dragging on his own.
âUschi,â Axe warned her.
Uschi lowered the rubble back to the ground. They had been agreed that she wouldnât be using the Force, and would use her hands like everyone. Of course, she was still using the Force to carry the rubble with her hands, but no one needed to know that.
A/N: Hello everyone! We're back with another story from The Life of the Wolf, the Wren, and their Cub! Here is the beginning and if you want to read the whole story, the link will be at the end! Enjoy!
As Uschi grew older, Sabine and Shin felt more comfortable leaving her home alone for a few hours, especially to go on dates in the evening. Now that she was eleven, she knew how to cook for herself and how to feed Murley, and she knew she had to be in bed by a certain time, especially if there was school afterward. Her mothers trusted her not to burn down the house while they were at the restaurant, or the beach, or the bar.
That night, they came back around midnight after having a very fancy evening in one of the restaurants on the harbor. While Sabine had organized the date by claiming that it wasnât for any special occasion, in truth it was the five-year anniversary of the day Shin had stabbed her. She didnât want to make a big deal out of it, but they were used to sneakily celebrating anniversaries. They couldnât agree on whether they should celebrate the first day they had kissed â as Shin kept insisting â or the day where they had officially decided to start their relationship â which Sabine preferred. They each organized their own dates for those anniversaries while pretending that it was a day like any other. It was more of a joke nowadays.
Sabine parked her speeder in front of the house and they climbed up the stairs. They had definitely gotten too much champagne, Sabine thought, but she didnât mind. Decisions made in bed under the influence of champagne usually turned out rather pleasing. As they entered the house, clinging to one another, the ground floor was dark. Sometimes Uschi would fall asleep in front of the TV, but she wasnât on the couch that day.
âUschi,â Shin began to call into the silent house.
Sabine shushed her swiftly, then whispered in her ear:
âDonât wake her.â
She pulled Shinâs earlobe between her teeth, making her girlfriend moan. Shin pushed her until Sabine was against the wall, though they were a little too close to the kitchen doorway for Sabine to use it for support. Still, Sabine drew her into a hungry kiss, all teeth and tongue as Shin grabbed her ass and pulled her closer, changing tactics once she saw the wall was inadequate.
The plan was always the same. Make out their way to their bedroom while also trying to lose as little clothe as possible in the process. Now that Uschi wasnât so innocent to the way the world work, she had started to notice how insatiable her parents were for one another, and making disgusting faces. They had to be more careful, which made it all the more exciting.
They hadnât even traversed the kitchen doorway on their way to their bedroom yet when the houseâs wall-mounted communication device rang. They jumped apart as the shrieking sound spooked them. Sabine sighed, forehead falling against Shinâs shoulders. No one would be calling them this late if it wasnât an emergency, and most emergencies were reserved for Sabine, whether it was from Hera, Ezra, or Ahsoka.
Sabine brushed a hand through her hair, hoping she looked presentable still, and she took the call. The face that appeared on the screen was not one she expected at all.
âGovernor Azadi. Iâm sure whatever emergency youâre calling about, it can wait until tomorrow morning.â
Sabine was about to end the call, but Azadi still had the time to reply:
âIt can, but I doubt youâd like your daughter to spend the night in jail.â
Sabineâs finger hovered an inch off the âend callâ button. Azadiâs words sobered her up faster than a slap.
âWhat?â
âIâm doing you a favor by calling you, Sabine.â
Sabine still couldnât understand. Uschi was in bed, not in jail. She glanced behind her at Shin, who had also heard. Shin also looked sobered. She rushed down the stairs to Uschiâs room.
A/N: Hello everyone! I'm back with another story from "The Life of the Wolf, the Wren, and their Cub." This one is about Uschi getting her own lightsaber. Here is the beginning and if you'd like to read more the link for the rest of the story will be at the end!
Sabine checked once more that Uschiâs jacket was zipped to the top and her scarf covered the skin of her neck left unprotected by the thick, fur-lined coat. Uschi tried to push her hand away, to no avail.
âIâll be fine,â the girl assured.
Still, Sabine continued to fret over her. She picked up a woolen hat and forced it onto Uschiâs head, despite her protest.
âYou have you comlink?â
âYes.â
âAnd your emergency grappling line?â
âYou know Ahsoka said itâs cheating.â
âYeah, well, Ahsoka was raised by a religious cult who thought it was normal to send children alone on an ice-covered planet to gather a little crystal.â
âWe didnât go alone,â Ahsoka chimed in from the doorway to the T-6âs cockpit. âBut unfortunately, Uschi doesnât have any clan members to go with her.â
Sabine placed a hand on her daughterâs shoulder.
âBe careful. And do not hesitate to call.â
Uschi nodded. She walked past Shin, who gave her an encouraging pad on the shoulder, then Huyang who was waiting for her by the door.
âRemember, young Uschi. You must trust your instinct. One crystal within the cave is awaiting you. Your task is only to retrieve it.â
Uschi gave him a serious nod, then stepped out of the ship, and into Ilumâs blizzard. Sabine watched her go with a sigh.
âShe will be fine,â Ahsoka assured her. âYouâve prepared her well.â
âIâm allowed to worry, Iâm the one who grew up on an ice planet.â
She sat down on the couch in the middle of the ship, and Shin went to sit beside her, wrapping one arm around her.
âYouâre cute when you worry.â
âDonât act like you arenât worried too.â
Shin shrugged.
âI had to get my crystal in a sleeping volcano. Iâd rather see her wondering about an ice cavern than a lava field.â
Sabine placed the comlink on the table in front of her, and leaned into Shinâs embrace. They had been training Uschi on Krownest for the past few weeks, specifically to make this journey to Ilum easier. They had done all they could. Now it was up to her.
A/N: Hello everyone! I'm back with another story in the Life of the Wolf, the Wren and their Cub series! This time they are taking a little vacation to Krownest! Here is the beginning and if you enjoy it you'll find the link to the full story at the end!
It took about a year for Uschi to finally convince her mother to take her to Krownest. It wasnât just that Sabine didnât want to go back there. The place was charged with a lot of memories, some of which she wasnât sure she was ready to confront. But it was also Uschiâs inheritance, and the girl deserved to play in the snow for a little while before she was too old to enjoy it to its fullest. So, despite her hesitation, Sabine packed up everything they needed in the shuttle and they journeyed to the New Kleyman system.
Uschi was positively vibrating in her seat as they pulled out of hyperspace and approached the frozen planet. Shin had been driving, as if to spare Sabine, to let her focus on her emotions, but once they approached the orbit of the planet, Sabine took over, driving them down toward the Wren stronghold.
Uschi gasped when they broke through the clouds and she saw the snow for the first time. It smeared down the slopes of grey mountains like rough brushstrokes, powdered the leaves of trees and carpeted the ground. The lower they descended, the shinier it seemed. They flew over a frozen lake, and the stronghold came into view, drawing another gasp from the girl. It was made of glass and concrete, jutting out of the mountain and standing like a stack of boxes on the edge of the lake.
âIs this where you grew up?â Uschi asked.
âYep.â
âItâs so cool.â
Sabine brought the shuttle on the roof, where they used to keep their small fleet of ships, and she parked it there. Once the landing pads rested steadily on the roof, she cut out the engines. While Uschi unbuckled her seatbelt and rushed out of the cockpit, Sabine wasnât so quick to move. She took a deep breath, hands rubbing at her knees like she wasnât sure she would be able to get up. Shin placed a hand on her lap, drawing her attention.
âI can keep her occupied, if you need a moment.â
Sabine sighed, but gave her a small smile.
âIâm fine.â
Shin stared a second longer at her, as if trying to deciphering how much Sabine was lying. Enough to be concerned, but not enough to call her out on it. She gave a little nod.
âAlright,â Sabine said, finally, as she stood up. âLetâs get her inside before she freezes over.â
A/N: Hello everyone! Here is my second anniversary gift to all of you! This story is based on two fanarts made by @somewillwin ten days ago and as soon as I saw them I knew I just had to write something! Here is an extract and if you enjoy it you can find the link to the whole story at the end!
The ride back to Paris was rambunctious. The Australian team was riding with the Americans, and while they had not won, they were quite ready to celebrate for Sabineâs gold. The medal was heavy and comforting around her neck, but despite the music blaring at the back of the minivan, Sabine wasnât dancing. She was maxing out the Internet her mobile plan allowed her to watch the fencing competition on her phone. It was the semi-finals already, and Ukraine was facing against Japan.
âSabine, itâs not fun if youâre not celebrating,â Ketsu, the US shooter, shouted at her as she tried to take Sabineâs phone from her hands.
One glance at the screen told her all she needed to know. Ketsu rolled her eyes.
âHow is your girlfriend doing?â
âSheâs last to go.â
âOkay, well, enjoy your fencing, Iâll party on your behalf.â
âThere will be plenty of time to party when Shin also has her gold medal. Heck, she might even win two.â
The next day would be the individual saber womenâs competition, which Sabine had no doubt Shin would also win. Behind her, Ketsu turned up the volume of the music she was playing at the back, to the point that Sabine could not even hear the commentators anymore. Suddenly, Shinâs name appeared on the little banner at the bottom of the screen, although Sabine would not have been able to tell, with her helmet already on her head.
âShut up, shut up, shut up,â she shouted in the car. âTurn the music down, itâs Shinâs turn.â
Ketsu obeyed. All the passengers turned to Sabine and the commentatorâs voice coming through the tiny speakers of her phone.
âA good defense from Ukraineâs side. Hati seems to be waiting for her opponent to strike and overextend herself. AndâŠâ
The clear sound of metal on metal echoed out of the phone.
âHati strikes. Thatâs one more point of Ukraine, 37 to 28.â
A/N: Hello everyone! Happy 1 year anniversary to the Ahsoka series and Wolfwren! For those of you who read my kidfic last month, here is the first of a few very anticipated sequels! Here is an extract and if you want to read the whole story, the link will be at the end!
"The other two bedrooms are here and here.â
Uschi looked within the first one, then the second one. It was this one that caught her attention. It was just as empty and white as the other rooms, but there was something about the size and shape of it that she liked. The windows gave onto the street, rather than the courtyard.
She went to one of the windows and opened the binds to look outside. The street wasnât too crowded, and the few people who walked by and spotted her smiled at her.
âWhat do you think?â
Uschi turned away from the window. While Sabine was stuck listening to Treshockâs meandering explanations, Shin had remained behind. She was standing in the doorway of the room, watching Uschi with a smile.
âCan this be my room?â Uschi asked.
âI think so. It depends on whether Sabine likes it too.â
âDo you like it?â
Shin shrugged.
âItâs been a very long time since Iâve had a house. I donât know what makes a good house.â
Uschi pondered the question.
âIt has bedrooms for everyone.â
âThatâs true.â
âAnd thereâs a big kitchen. And maybe we can buy a long sofa for the living room so we can all sit together.â
âI think thatâs a great idea.â
As they walked back up the stairs, Uschi continued to explain what made this house great.
âAll the walls are white so we can paint them however we want. And I saw a noodle bar down the street on our way here, so itâs not very far if we want to get noodles.â
âIf we want to.â
At the top of the stairs, they had lost sight of Sabine and the real estate agent.
âBuir?â Uschi called.
âUp there,â Sabine replied, as her voice carried down a narrow staircase tugged against the wall.
