Curate, connect, and discover
Look at these panels.
Loid is a perfectionist, in his line of work he has to be because any mistake can cost him his life. Anytime a situation doesn’t go the way he played it out on his head, he beats himself up harshly and starts overthinking.
But thankfully Yor keeps him grounded, reminds him that he’s still human. She reminds Loid that what he wants for Anya is completely different from what Anya wants for herself. Yes school and grades comes first, but she’s still a little kid at heart and Yor wants her to have fun while doing it. Even though he may make these little mistakes when raising Anya, Yor reassures him that he’s still a wonderful father, “A perfect 100 points!”
Now Nightfall, while I do think her one-sided love for Loid is very funny and tragic at the same time, I don’t think any real progress would be made for Operation Strix if she was his wife.
Look at these 2 particular panels, Nightfall is quick to criticize Loid for focusing his efforts on “playing house” with Yor, Anya, and Bond. But the core of his mission IS TO PLAY HOUSE because he’s a Father, Husband, Pet Owner first and Spy second. By this point he finally realized that and readjusted himself thanks to his experiences with Anya, Yor and Bond hence why he seemed a little angry when she calls them “accessories” because that’s how Nightfall sees the family “accessories” to the mission.
Compared to Yor, Nightfall’s approach to motherhood would no different than the very scientists that experimented on Anya and gave her telepathic powers. "Give me results, I want results. You're just a means to an end, I could care less about what you want. It's about what I WANT and I HAVE A DEADLINE TO MEET." In the end Anya would hate school more and it would just bring up bad memories of those scientists, causing her overall well-being to plumment and the mission to fail before it could gain any traction.
It's why Yor and Loid work so well. They may not be the perfect parents but they work so hard to give Anya the childhood they both couldn't have when they were younger. They understand what works and what doesn't and learn from their mistakes. Aside from being good parents they also strive to be the best fake Husband and Wife to each other. They lean on each other for emotional support and give reassurance even when they doubt themselves.
Although they deny it with every fiber in their being but they love each so much. Not only are they able to devote themselves even more to the reason why they became a Spy/Assassin, but they both grew and became better people because of it.
THAT MOMENT WHEN YOUR PAPA REMEMBERS EVERY DETAIL IN YOUR FAVORITE CARTOON BETTER THAN YOU 🤣🤣🤣
So resourceful, Loid, so resourceful 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
THIS is definitely my most favorite scene from episode 11. Anya ran hurriedly and then JUMPED WITHOUT HESITATION into the swimming pool (please remember that it was the deep, adult’s pool, not the shallow one for children). She knew that it was dangerous, yet she was so determined to save the boy. She was so brave for her age, she truly earned that Stella and nobody can tell me otherwise.
Congratulations, Anya, seven Stellas to go!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
GUYS I WAS SOOOOOOOO AFRAID THAT LOID WOULD INTERROGATE ANYA. Before this episode, he was often surprised because Anya “coincidentally” responded accordingly to what he was thinking about. But then she took the smart move here.
As usual, our smart 4-year-old Anya managed to find the safest solution to her problem, so that Papa didn’t suspect her anymore.
“Even if she isn’t immediately able to receive any Stella, it would be beneficial to Anya to learn about community service.”
.
BONUS: Did anybody notice that during the volunteering, Anya’s hair were tied into double low buns? I realized that during briefing session, her hair was still in the usual style. So…..did Loid do Anya’s hair off-camera? 😉😉😉
Instead of being an explosive parent, Loid gently lifted and comforted Anya when she cried. He was even thinking about finding and nurturing her talent. To make this scene more wholesome, Anya said something to comfort Loid, which surprised him.
Look, I’m totally aware that Loid’s main motivation when he first adopting Anya was HIS MISSION. That he is Westalis’ best spy thus he MUST succeed. So, he had every reasons to be mad at Anya when she got bad grades at school, when she could not catch up with her classmates who were 2 years older than her, because it might fail his mission.
But did we see Loid yelling at Anya? Beating her and forcing her so hard to be an Imperial Scholar in only 4 months?
No, we did not.
We constantly see him as a considerate father figure, who is always taking care of Anya dearly without even realizing it. Remember episode 1, when he infiltrated enemy’s place to take Anya back from the kidnappers? He was at high risk of being recognized (and risking his life as well) because he wasn’t wearing mask, but he still did it to save Anya. Or episode 4 (the school interview), when Loid almost punched one of the interviewers because he made Anya cried? And so on and so forth…
It’s been only 11 episodes, but I think it’s more than enough for us to thank Spy x Family for showing this beautiful, pure, and heartwarming father-daughter relationship.
We are Yor in those situations 😂😂😂
Anya’s exam results. Idk but the questions look quite difficult for first grade students. Her handwriting tho 😅😅😅
People on the internet should really stop saying that Anya is dumb, slow-learner, manipulative, etc, when on this episode SHE WAS THE MOST SUFFERED PERSON due to her parents’ problem.
Imagine being only 4-5 years old, the one and only person in the family who has the CLEAREST VISION about what’s going on. Unlike Loid and Yor, Anya has no hidden agenda; she just wants to live in a stable and happy family. She has no choice other than analysing and finding the safest solution to every problem ALL BY HERSELF because she can’t tell anyone about her telepathic ability… If that wasn’t smart and emotionally intelligent, I don’t know what that is.
Somebody please tell me how a man on his 30s looks this cool (and hot at the same time 🥵) while reading a series of comic books which his daughter is a huge fan of.
Happy weekend everyone! Regarding today’s episode, I’m sure you have seen many posts discussing the prominent moments such as the almost-kissing scene and so on, thus here I’m not gonna talk about them again. However, I just rewatched the episode and found out some interesting things/scenes that perhaps many people don’t really talk about.
Yor’s precision was no joke. She managed to direct that fork so that it only slightly injured Yuri’s cheek WHILE SHE WAS DRUNK.
2. Seriously what did The Garden give Yor when they were recruiting her? A super soldier serum? She slapped Yuri, a grown man, effortlessly as if he was mere a feather.
3. Remember in last week’s episode when Loid prepared lovey-dovey accessories? That one mug with ”LOVE” written on it? Seems like everything had been back to normal after Yuri’s visit.
4. THIS IS THE MOST HEARTBREAKING SCENE OKAY? Here we can see Anya’s reflection on the spoon, looking sad. Poor Anya, she knew exactly what was happening between her parents, but she couldn’t say anything 😭
5. Franky’s good at acting. That’s it.
6. The way Loid dropped his shoulders then looked at Franky right after Franky reminded him that the one and only way a spy can survive is by not trusting anyone. Emotions, emotions.
7. Aaand finally, this scene when Loid finally decided to trust Yor, emphasized by him crushing the ‘microphone’ thing. This is a big moment considering how profound he doubted Yor before.
BONUS:
This is the most beautiful scene of today’s episode. Love the colour palette, the vibe, and Yor’s expression as well :)
Loid = Westalis x Yor = Ostania
Anya = Westalis/Ostania (?) x Damian = Ostania
Hmm just notice a pattern here…
Watching a twenty-minute episode on Saturday night THEN WAITING IMPATIENTLY FOR A WHOLE WEEK to watch the next episode is such a pain in the bum.
