Kinda want to write a fanfic based on the wack ass dream I had about this show last night but also I'm not sure I want to put Elliot and everyone else through him having a near death experience (in said wack ass dream he got fucking shot but luckily unlike s2 Kat he was in present day)
I have once again intercepted a braincell, this time while listening to Blixemi's Warriors songs (y'know a book series about a bunch of cats living in a forest) and noticed some parallels with TWH characters:
Way to You - literally every character, but especially Del about Colton and Jacob
Drowning in Memories - Jacob and Elliot about their trauma (drowning, huh, well fuck that's another thing)
Shared Eyes - Jacob and Cyrus. Jacob hating Cyrus for the kind of person he is and then doing things that really aren't much better than Cyrus's actions.
Stride by Stride - Colton to Kat, Jacob, and Elliot after his death.
Could Never Be - Kat and Susanna. There's a reason I call this one the "gay cat song" in my head. I don't think I need to say more.
All They See - Elliot and people only seeing him as Victor Augustine's son rather than as a whole entire other person.
Another You - Elliot's mom and Victor possibly.
Swallowing Shadows - I could kinda see a parallel with when Jacob felt like everything he knew in the 1800s had been a lie.
I'll be Complete - I can kinda see Susanna in this one.
Random The Way Home headcanons:
- Nick is fiercely protective of Elliot.
- Elliot watched The Land Before Time constantly as a kid.
- Danny gives Jacob a Nintendo Switch and a copy of Pokémon Let's Go Eevee. He also later gets Scarlet. Elliot has Violet. Neither can get through the Area Zero storyline without crying.
- Jacob's favorite Pokémon is Rockruff
- Elliot's favorite Pokémon is Umbreon
- Del watches Heartland
- Alice definitely grew up watching My Little Pony. Idk who her favorite character would've been though.
- Elliot has a Stegosaurus plushie named Dominic.
- Kat loved to climb trees as a kid. She convinced Elliot to try it once, which went horribly wrong.
- Nick still thinks deez nuts is funny. Jacob also thinks deez nuts is funny.
- Elliot and Nick both play Minceraft
- Elliot has a fear of snakes
It's 3 AM and I can't stop thinking about this show (cough cough Elliot my beloved). Brain what the fuckkk.

The magic of the pond itself causes people to go insane as a result of:
- knowing too much about the future
-spending too long in the past (especially at once)
People who this could be happening to:
-Elliot (this could be why so many people think something's up with him. Could be this, could be burnout per the autism theory (see separate post about that), could be both at the same time, who knows?)
-Jacob (people also wonder what the Scizor is going on with him and why he stares at people like a cat and looks like he never blinks)
-Fern (idk what to say about Fern tbh)
-Maybe even Evelyn?

Since I've been updating the presentation I made about Elliot to include examples from season 3, including evidence of a key trait I was actually missing before (sensory issues). Holy Palkia guys I think this is the most thought I've ever put into a single headcanon for a single character. Never thought I'd be this hyperfixated on anything produced by Hallmark. Side note that reading a 1000 page PDF on a laggy ass school issued Chromebook sucks and I don't recommend doing that ever.
If Elliot actually IS autistic, he isn't diagnosed, and some of his behavior the last couple of seasons is at least partially the result of him being stressed and burnt out. Maybe, being that he's a teacher, he'll meet a student who is very similar to him and is diagnosed, and then be like "oh. OH. That explains a lot actually." Like I did about myself when working on this.
Man, I really did a whole presentation for an actual high school class to back up a headcanon lmao. To be fair I also, a couple years earlier, when I got to choose any science related topic to do a project on, proceeded to talk about moths for 10 minutes. You know, I could probably do a similar project about Kat and ADHD(eez nuts lol sorry) but I'd have to dig through 2 flash drives to see if I even still have the PDF of the entire DSM-5 stored somewhere from when I had to back up all my files from school before my account was shut down after I graduated.

colton knows about the pond!!! like i figured he must’ve known about it in some way because it explains how he figured out that adult kat was actually his daughter and why he never questioned her and alice being soaking wet every time they see each other. but like i never would’ve guessed that he’s not from modern times. also how much more does he know about??
i’m so glad that jacob came back and i can’t wait for the scenes with him together with alice and del. i do hope that this’ll lead to del finally knowing about the pond. also like will he stay permanently?
