Came because my interest was piqued seeing you on my dash. Stayed because of your unique portrayal and amazing in depth characterization of the character you've brought to the table. Letting the villain be a villain. The amazing lore behind the character really has me coming back to read it over and over again. Also the mun , ive had nothing but amazing interactions with too.

by all means if you ever want to know more about julius' character, or my take on him, please feel free to send in headcanon asks!! even unprompted. tbh with how julius is as a character - reserved, secretive, and overall just not very sociable - i can't really truly seeing him divulging much personal information readily. so the only true way to really get to know the meat & potatoes of his character & my interpretation is through headcanons!!

because of personal reasons, i can't really see this!! i relate mads mikkelsen & hannibal as a whole with someone else, so trying to apply him to julius just doesn't gel with me. early hannibal is a bit too calm for julius anyway, for as much as julius can try to hold himself together, he isn't actually that well put together.

Blocking is;

A way to not see a particular user & their posts

A way to cultivate your space

A way to avoid conflict

Blocking ISN'T;

Inherently selfish & immature

Something you need an explanation for

'An awful thing to do to someone'

There's this odd movement of people trying to de-normalize blocking users. Trying to hide behind excuses such as "you need to communicate with your partners, it's immature to block someone out of the blue" and... No??? No. More likely than not, people who tend to get blocked the most by users are strangers they don't vibe with or rp partners they didn't even interact with that they no longer see themselves interacting with for any reason. More people need to see it as a red flag when people get super genuinely upset when one of the billions of people on the internet block them "out of the blue". If you cannot handle being blocked online, whether it's someone you apparently know, or some random who might've just fat fingered the block button and doesn't even know you exist, you shouldn't be online. Are there freak scenarios where someone shouldn't block someone? Maybe, but people should prioritize their mental health and simply block someone instead of engaging with someone out of obligation. This is a hobby, I can click what button I please. Not to say people will block their mutuals willy-nilly or you should be walking on eggshells, but it's time to stop viewing blocking someone as a "bad thing" or a "last resort".

wilhelm it has been such an utter delight to reconnect with you and julius again. i've had so much fun writing our characters and just talking with you and everything that it entails. i've missed you more than i can ever say, and i really dont know what else to say that i havent said already. it's just been so nice having you back in my life, and i wouldn't trade you for anything or anyone. i look forward to what the future has in store for us both, and i hope you stay a continuous part of it. you're a piece of me i didnt know i was missing, tbh.

Wilhelm I know we don't yap a lot but lemme say I just love seeing you on my dash bringing such an amazing character to life. Letting the villain be the villain. Your writing creativity just astounds me and watching it come to life (as I read through the threads come across the dash) is just amazing. You're a phenomenal and cannot wait to read more :3

i appreciate the bit about the 'villain being a villain' thing, b/c i genuinely feel like that's a whole level of villain that's been lost on tumblr because a lot of people are expecting every villain to be redeemed or to somehow see the errors of their ways etc. which hey power to you, i get how that kind of storyline can be compelling and fun to map out. i just think on that other coin side we should genuinely let villains just be villains. and yes that means letting them be evil JUST BECAUSE?? because the villain enjoys it or finds it fun or finds it hilarious or whatever.

I DO MY BEST?? whenever someone calls my writing amazing or astounding i kinda flounder and go 'r we reading the same thing' but i always worry my writing comes across as too stiff or difficult to read, i know i'm terrible at setting a scene lmfao. i also worry at points my dialogue might sound too off putting or not as natural?

BUT!! ii genuinely will take these compliments and appreciate them, even if my inner critique is trying to tell me not to. thanks so much for this kris, genuinely made me smile.

When you are writing a story and refer to a character by a physical trait, occupation, age, or any other attribute, rather than that character’s name, you are bringing the reader’s attention to that particular attribute. That can be used quite effectively to help your reader to focus on key details with just a few words. However, if the fact that the character is “the blond,” “the magician,” “the older woman,” etc. is not relevant to that moment in the story, this will only distract the reader from the purpose of the scene. 

If your only reason for referring to a character this way is to avoid using his or her name or a pronoun too much, don’t do it. You’re fixing a problem that actually isn’t one. Just go ahead and use the name or pronoun again. It’ll be good.

USEFUL SITES FOR ROLEPLAYERS 2.0

This is an updated version of my original post since I've found some more useful websites since then.

roleplay formatter: Made by the awesome @rpclefairy. I honestly can't recommend this one enough. Great for adding color, changing the font size, and the whole shebang with bold + italics + underline + strikethrough. 10 out of 10 always use.

word html: I actually just stumbled upon this and am absolutely in love with it. It works a lot like roleplay formatter and has WYSIWYG, HTML, and SOURCE CODE options. 10 out of 10 awesome alternative.

fsymbols + emojipedia: These are both great for making your tags fancy and whatnot.

alt codes: This is genuinely great for teaching you how to make the symbols with your keyboard for everyday use so there's that. It's especially useful if you and/or your muses speak a second language so that's a bonus.

text color fader: *marge vc* I just think gradient effects on text is neat. *end marge vc*

list of colors (wikipedia): Has a list of an infinite number of colors and their hex codes. Very useful if I do say so, myself. But that's just me.

rgb color code: Just stumbled upon this one like I did with word html and is nothing short of interesting! Might not be one I'd use on the regular but it's definitely worth looking into IMHO.
