the thing that's important to understand about cas and crowley is that theyre both on the team because theyre the most human of their kind. just a little too soft and emotional for their own good. neither of them really fit in with the rest of the angels and demons. and also theyre huge fucking losers. that's also important. your honor theyre lame and pathetic as hell fr and theyre both in love with Just Some Guy from kansas who's so deep in the closet you'd think he'd be able to find something other than flannel. and yet.
some people think in ho didn’t notice gi hun until he won. i agree that maybe he wasn’t Interested in gi hun in a big way until he won (cause everyone dies and he himself said he didn’t think gi hun would win) but im sure he noticed him and watched him for a lot of it cause he became friends with oh il nam and of course in ho had to watch oh il nam very closely for the duration of the games to ensure his safety. i’m sure he noticed and realized it was odd that in this game where everyone is mainly only looking out for themselves, that gi hun befriended this old dying man and cared about him to such an extent even though it put his life at major risk. and that he extended that same care to everyone else when there were barely any players left. i’m sure he was intrigued by how much he cared about others and then of course that feeling must’ve amplified ten fold when he won because not only did he care so much about everyone but he was able to win despite that? in a game designed to bring out the worst in everyone? and if that wasn’t enough, then he wants to come back so he can save everyone from the horrible fate of the games?? after he won all the prize money???? of course in ho is obsessed with him there was no way around it. it was bound to happen, there was absolutely nothing anyone could do to stop it. it was written in the stars.
honestly when it comes to ladynoir i kinda eat up preconceived notions. like whenever Chat tells Ladybug a story about himself, her brain comes up with something oh-so-totally different than if she imagined it for Adrien.
like if he mentions his room? she would NEVER in a million years think of the grandiose room Adrien has in the Agreste house in the context of Chat Noir. her brain would likely come up with a dimly lit, smaller-to-average size room, probably a little messy, absolutely teeming with anime posters on the walls and a desk with a big monitor and a silly gamer chair with cat ears. just absolutely screaming personality.
and when Ladybug lets slip that she works for her parents? Chat Noir, who has been an employee of the Gabriel company for pretty much his entire cognizant life, would never have his go-to guess be his Lady being a baker’s daughter. No, his brain weirdly enough goes straight for her doing office-type work for her parents, even though she’s 14 and this makes literally no sense lol. (but he’s been extorted by his parents for his entire life so is that really shocking)
she’s always imagined he’d have siblings, but has never been able to decide if she thinks he’s the youngest or oldest
he’s always been fairly convinced she’s pretty athletic in her real life, and probably plays some sports competitively
I just love love love the idea of them being so absolutely flabbergasted when they find out bc they had all these ideas in their head they thought were on the right track and end up being beyond incorrect.
Marinette especially has her brain oh so totally shattered bc the mental image of “civilian chat noir” was so absolute in her head that when it comes out to be reserved, clean-cut Adrien she’s just like ?!?!?!?!? blue screen
Whaddya mean this isn't how the episode went?
Before I watched season 2 of squid game I was quite sceptical and not sure if I was going to watch it despite loving the first season.
I think what I worried about is a 2nd season made not to tell something but simply for Netflix to make more money. ie: captilism.
I'm already quite sceptical of other shows doing the same thing. I question, are they making another season of this popular show because it has more story to tell or is it milking it dry. And pushing a story for such reasons always ends up badly.
This was more worrying for me because it was SQUID GAME, the show criticizing capitalism.
I was worried it would take the amazing story telling and themes of the 1st season and throw them away. That it would be a poor attempt at trying to get the attention and money that it had in 2021. A poor copy.
(Needless to say, I was thankfully mistaken)
I saw a lot of fanart and fan content for season 2 which meant people liked it, 'and sure it maybe wouldn't have the same themes but at least it might be fun'--- I thought like a fool.
My goodness do I love season 2. Actually more than season 1 probably. Hot take I know. I'm not saying it's better, I'm just saying I enjoy it more.
It built on the themes of season 1 and is growing on the point it made. That's incredibly important for any show but especially for one like Squid game with strong themes.
And also it hit home to, because how season 2 (the games) were set up it reminded me so much of the political climate and economy in America. Its crazy to me that a show that doesn't even take place in America reminds me of America. I watched this season only a week or so after the inauguration and it smacked me dead in the face.
With the voting, how its main purpose is turning the players against each other. The red and blue color scheme of the votes (which is I think referencing the Matrix, the red and blue pills specifically) but also still reminds me of America's colors. How the voting and the fighting distracted the players from the true enemy, the ones with the money and the ones controlling them. My goodness kendnrjekkeke, I can talk about this season endlessly.
I'm also fascinated by the things that happened in the beginning of the season. Specifically the recruiter and what he was doing. It set up the season perfectly! It had a bunch of the major themes in his actions and also the things surrounding him. Like, the two loan shark guys (who one was the one that threatened Gi-hun in season 1 which reveals interesting things about Gi-hun), their friendship and how the dude sacrificed himself for the other. That single scene reveals that humans, people, even cruel ones, can care for each other and sacrifice everything. That was in the beginning of the season too!!! I found that it said so much.
Anyhow, squid game did have more to say, and I think it has much more. I excited for season 3
That boat has already sailed
does anyone has the post with that quote from kripke about how dean's type would be someone like, entering the room all gun blazing, and he'd be like 'who's that' smth smth ??
Aaaaaaaahyhhhh they're so pretty and cute 🥰 I'm dying
i've been getting a ton of requests lately so i decided to just do one big sketch dump
HAHAHHAH, I love Crowley's mostly unrequited love for Dean
Anyway, Dean's most inconsistent application of his own ethical code is Crowley.
Fuck you man- "in moments of survival humans will regress into our base instinct to survive and throw anyone away to do so"
Literally proven not true when Seong Gi Hun's loan shark ally gave up his life in Rock, Papers, Scissors, Death to save the other guy. Who is the type of person the VIPs and the Frontman consider "Trash" and "rats" of the earth. He saw him as a friend and a brother, officiated his wedding, despite being a piece of shit he sacrificed himself, while the Frontman straight up shot his actual kid brother.
They cannot predict how people will react, they can just create the worse situations and hope it causes strife and conflict. Which it does. But it also creates friendships and loyalty, and thats a phenomenon that continues to confound and intrigue them. They believe it's a fluke, the humanity shown despite the horrors seen. Love so overcoming you strive for someone else's survival over your own. The outstretching of a hand despite the possibility of being bit. But really I believe its a core factor of our survival, and of the show
