Since we're talking about our AU versions of Eri, I wanted to add in my own version of Eri. It will have spoilers for Rewritten Sparks, and I might ramble a bit at first, so keep that in mind.
For those reading who don't know, I'm a sucker for the Henshin/Magical Girl genre. Heck, I grew up with the Power Rangers.
One of my favorite Henshin tropes is The Sixth Ranger/Member, where a new member joins the established cast. Sometimes, this trope involves the new member being a child that ages up when transformed. You see where I'm going with this?
Eri will end up being the "Sixth Ranger" of the Peacemakers, but not in the way you would expect.
I'm not going into full detail on Eri's role in Rewritten Sparks (or maybe I will depend on how I write this), but I will share how she becomes Snow White.
Sometime after UA's Culture Festival, Eri regains her memories of the original series. She only remembers up to when Aizawa trained her on how to use her quirk to help Mirio. She tries to help Mirio again, but Stryxxxer, for some reason, is insistent on not letting her do that and wants her to have a normal life.
One night, after Stryxxxer reads Snow White to her, Eri asks him why he doesn't want her to help them fight villains?
This still confuses Eri, as he didn't have any problems training her the last time. Why did Stryxxxer suddenly change his mind? It wasn't fair. She wished she could grow up to be a hero like Deku.
Weeks later, news of a new heroine spreads around. There's no records of her. When reporters get the chance to ask, she explains it's because she's from the future, so her name isn't in the hero register yet.
(This is a placeholder until I work on an official design.)
So I was thinking about that anon ask about Eri and the more I ponder it, the more I kind of vibe with villain(ish)!Eri.
Imagine an Eri who wasn't mistreated by Overhaul. Whose life improved once she was taken in by her grandfather. She gets everything she wants and is spoiled rotten by both her grandfather and Chisaki. Maybe she buys into Overhaul's ideals, it was her quirk that killed her father and made her mother resent her, after all. She's manipulated into helping him instead of being outright forced, rewarded with his affection.
(Chisaki tells her that her grandfather is sick, and she believes him without question)
Then Izuku, Mirio, and the heroes come and ruin it all. She doesn't want their help, but they defeat Overhaul and she's given to UA. And she hates it there. She tries to run away, acts out, and pitches a fit every chance she gets. She warms up to Izuku and Mirio because they take the time to get to know her, value her opinion, and don't try to police her behavior. But she absolutely hates being in Aizawa's custody, especially because he can shut off her quirk. She constantly tests Aizawa's patience.
She wants to go home and be with her "Papa" and "Uncle Kai." But then learns that Chisaki hurt her grandfather because he protested against using her for his experiments. And it changes her entire outlook. How could her beloved uncle hurt her grandfather? Kai would never hurt family, he always said that!
Now Eri isn't just angry, she's devastated. She's sad and confused and in pain in a way she doesn't understand. She becomes so subdued that UA (in their infinite wisdom) stop watching her as closely. Big mistake. She runs off, and this time no one's there to stop her.
Only to get picked up by the MLA. They've been watching her since she was taken in by the Yakuza, but they aren't exactly sure what her quirk is. All they know is that it's powerful and want to use it to their advantage. So they try to interrogate her to no avail (Eri, as the granddaughter of a Yakuza boss, has seen real interrogations and is thoroughly unimpressed). They try to coerce her into joining them willingly, which triggers a mental breakdown because it's so similar to how Kai convinced her to help him.
Everyone only wants her for her power. Everyone except-
Izuku and Mirio (without a quirk like a boss) rescue her and it's here that they earn her admiration and adoration. Because she treated them horribly, but they still saved her. They still cared for her. Not for her power, but because she was important to them.
I like Eri in canon fine, but I won't refute that she's one-dimensional. I think something like this would have been really interesting. It not only makes her more layered as a character, it also drives home that every kid is worth saving, not only the sweet, innocent victims. Very good chance for parallels with the LOV.
(But I'm actually glad Horikoshi didn't do this. Girls in anime with complexity aren't treated well, just look at Gabi. Eri would have gotten a lot of hate for being "annoying" or whatever)
I'm thinking of incorporating it into the rewrite somehow.
New templates, new templates!
If you’re knee-deep in chapter 83 and your characters haven’t even locked eyes yet (we salute your dedication)—or staring down a fix-it fic with dangerously high emotional stakes—we’ve got some templates to help you plan and transform the stories you love.
Find three new templates in Ellipsus (just choose from template when you start a new doc).
The Canon Divergence Template—break the timeline, rewrite the rules, and give your faves the ending they deserve. The Fandom Ship Template—map your ship’s emotional arc, from first emotionally repressed gaze to cathartic confession. The AU Planning Template—modernize, magicalize, or make em rival antique shop owners (you know you want to).
Read the full post over on the blog, and may your slow burns always pay off.

@anartisicandautisticstararcher
My first fanfiction was a Steven Universe fic where Pearl was corrupted and turned into a body horror eldritch abomination with mouths all over her body.
Hey Chai, when was the time you first discovered what fanfictions where and do you remember your first one you’ve read?
I don't remember the first fanfic I ever read, but the fandom that got me into all of this was Invader Zim. I was addicted to everything about that show and the idea that I could just go online and have it in unlimited quantities -- that I could make it, and it would be whatever I wanted it to be -- was intoxicating. It was life-changing.
If you've ever wondered why I'm so vehemently against the idea that "fandom is about doing what the creator tells you/I tell you," that's why.
“But if you forget to reblog Madame Zeroni, you and your family will be cursed for always and eternity.”
I...I think I might redraw this.

Even Shinsou thought that Mineta should've been expelled. FREAKING SHINSOU!!!
Hi @anartisicandautisticstararcher 👋
Yeah at this point I don't know why mineta wasn't expelled from UA.
I still don't understand how teachers and people saw mineta's behaviour and simply said nothing. They just let it happen.
Like remember what he did to the girls in the Sports Festival by getting them to wear cheerleaders uniforms or what he done to momo in particular by literally attaching himself to her.
THIS IS ON LIVE TELEVISION!!?!?!?!
Aren't momos parents influential and rich why didn't they do something about this?
Heck, this isn't even something that he does once. NO, he does it multiple times.
Heck, mineta's pervy and inappropriate behaviour happen so often that there are literal YouTube video compilations of them reaching more than 5 minutes. For a side character who doesn't get much screentime for all of it to be centred around you, being a pathetic sexual harraser is absurd to me.
Also, let's not forget that this is the character that hori claims to be his self insert because he also describes himself to be a bit of a perv.
Y'ALL!!! I JUST SAW AN ANIMATION SOMEONE MADE OF MIC KISSING AOYAMA ON THE LIPS!!! 🤢🤢🤢
Me: Oh nice. Robo!Mic.
My Brain: Hey, Rae-!
Me: I'm going to stop you right there. Because I know exactly what you’re thinking.
My Brain: Well duh. I'm your brain.
Me: Shut up. You want me to draw Sunny Day in this AU because of that Emmy the Robot comic?
My Brain: Yes.
Me: This is in spite of me still trying to finalize her final design that YOU insisted on doing for the umpteenth time? And I STILL haven't even finished it?
My Brain: Yes.
Me: You want me to draw an AU version of my self insert...despite the fact that her main design isn't even finished!?
My Brain: Yep.
Me: ...
My Brain: ...
Me: ...
My Brain: So are you going to draw it or...?
Me: Yes.

My Brain while I was working on Rewritten Sparks:
Continuing with the question, why did you have difficulty between choosing the canon version and the prototype version of Bakugou?
Hello!
-
First and foremost, the comedic potential of prototype Bakugou, versus the more serious potential of canon Bakugou.
Prototype Bakugou would be funnier than canon Bakugou, as friends tend to be the most savage people to you, thus making it easier to laugh, especially since he says stuff without intending to be mean. It would make the serious moments all the more striking, too, but it would be a hard balance, especially as I don't view myself as very funny while writing.
Canon Bakugou presents a more serious side, as he represents a lot of what's wrong with hero society - the hyperfixation of quirks, an imaginative hierarchy that he stands at the top of, looking down on and beating the weak rather than protecting them, viewing heroism as a means to an end rather than a lifestyle.
The challenges differ as well, with Prototype Bakugou needing a good execution of the balance between comedy and serious topics, while Canon Bakugou's redemption has to be executed in such a way that feels realistic, but not frustratingly so.
I ended up sticking with canon Bakugou's set up, as I preferred his challenge. As someone who suffered from abuse and bullying, it really challenged me to think - about what my abusers and/or bullies would have had to do in order for me, not to forgive them, but to acknowledge that they truly have changed for the better.
It also felt right, to have someone so cruel, like Bakugou, become a hero. Because one of the messages is: 'not everyone can become a hero, but everyone has the capacity for heroism'.
Making this message work for Bakugou, for canon Bakugou, is very interesting to me, and I think I have a good plan for it too.
Prototype Bakugou, while he would be an interesting character, leaves a hole for the archetype that canon Bakugou would represent: the redeemed hero. Someone who starts as a horrible person and learns to become kinder.
It's an archetype that I love, which is why I did not like Bakugou in canon at all, because the execution was horrible.

Thanks for the ask!
I made this joke on Twitter already but...
...THAT'S LITERALLY MY AU VERSION OF MIC!!!
This is not St. Peter
First off, St. Peter was not white. He was a Jewish person.
Also, he worked as a fisherman before joining Jesus, so he most likely worked in the sun for long periods. There is no actual way he could be this pale.
When he died, he was around 62- 67 years old. I don't get how in Hazbin Hotel he looks straight up 20.
St. Peter is often depicted as an old man, slightly bald, with a beard. But in Hazbin Hotel, suddenly he is young, blond, and has blue eyes.
This also brings up the question of how St. Peter works in the Hazbin Hotel universe? Since Jesus is one of the big reasons why peter became who he was. But, in the hazbin universe, it has been confirmed (I believe) that Viv won't add Jesus or God.
So like does Jesus and God exist or not? It questions like these where it is better off just calling him a random angel instead.
What's crazier is it took him killing Mindy Kahling's Velma to undo years of his unjust hate.
To be fair, James Gunn admitted that he regretted doing that to the character and apologized for how Scrappy was portrayed in the movie when he found out that there were kids at the time who still liked Scrappy. Creators like James Gunn can admit to their faults.
I...wha?
What were your reasons for doing your rewrite, besides the negative points of canon? I'm just curious.
Hello!

Initially, I was inspired due to my main blog's 'mha critical' posts. As I started evaluating MHA with a more objective and critical eye, I began noticing more and more areas that needed significant improvement.
It was never about writing a better story than Horikoshi, (though I do want to achieve that), but about writing a satisfying story for myself and mamy other fans who were disappointed by the writing.
I've said as much in a post on my main blog, but the biggest critique I have about MHA is how Horikoshi is really good at setting things up, but falls flat on the execution.
My rewrite will take those set-ups, and I will do my best to execute them properly, with hopefully satisfying results. Or maybe unsatisfying if I intend it to be.
While spite-writing can be good for fics such as vents-fics or bashing-fics, I prefer to go into these kinds of fics with a more open mind. Rather than focusing on being better than MHA or Horikoshi, I focus on writing the story I would enjoy.
I think everything culminated both when the ending came out and it was one of the worst endings I've ever read, and seeing many other rewrite blogs surfacing, such as @rewrittenmha and @anartisicandautisticstararcher's Rewritten Sparks AU. It inspired me to write my own.

Thanks for the ask!
Right!? I always thought SpongeBob's grandma was a cannibal for making cookies.
When I was a kid I always thought SpongeBob’s parents were cookies, and didn’t consider they’re sponges…idk why I just did lol.
Oh thank god, then it wasn't just me!
This but with MHA.

Funny you mentioned Mic calling out Aizawa's behavior because Mic seems to be a representation of the audience calling out the plot holes in the story.
Isn't it a bit that weird after Mic starts calling these plot holes out, he was pushed to the sidelines? While he was still a side character in the beginning, he was a lot more prominent and appeared a lot more often than later on in the series.
As much as I hate the last chapter of MHA, it did give us Izuku calling out Aizawa on his complete lack of cleaning up Bakugou's act, which I think is beautiful (even if Aizawa ignored and deflected as per usual).
On one hand, this is funny as fuck. Aizawa does get called out at some points and it's always great when it happens.
But on the other hand, it's actually kind of annoying. This seems to me that not only is Horikoshi aware of how much Bakugou didn't change, he's also aware that Aizawa is a bad teacher.
Which, to be honest, I feel like he's always known that. Hell, he even has Mic say it in the Sports Festival. But one thing I've noticed is that Horikoshi will point these things out and just... Never do anything about them. Like, he can't ever be bothered.
To have Izuku be the one to call these things out at the very last minute feels... almost cruel. Like Izuku knows that Bakugou is still terrible. And he knows that Aizawa enabled him. But he's just... Resigned himself to it. Just like he resigned himself to losing OFA and not receiving the same praise as everyone else.
Izuku is always just made to accept the things around him and it's honestly really sad
Bonus if you add DfO in the mix. With this, you could potentially have a brother relationship similar to Rapunzel and Cassandra.
Hi, so I was thinking about and as much I think shig and Izu are underveloped as fuck...I was thinking...what if the saving arc thing was in reverse?
Shig sees how the heroes mistreat Izu, who in his eyes must be the most innocent person in all this mess, and decides to save him?
Sure sure it would need some tweaks as Shig needs to stop being all destruction and be afo's bootlicker.
But imagine the idea
Shiga, a villain, is set to save a hero.
Imagine of the possibilities. And if we want a war...why not Izu and Shig against the hero society and the status quo?
Hi @mikeellee 👋
This is an interesting route to take shigaraki and izukus characters and dynamics in.
While I do perfer the idea that both izuku and shigaraki want to save each other believing that the other needs to be saved and that their method is the best.
This is an equally interesting scenario that would add more development and interest to just izuku wanting to save shigaraki because he saw a crying kid.
For this scenario to occur there will be some adjustments required such as shigaraki coming to the conclusion that he wants to actually save something or someone instead of destroying everything. This can be easily achieved by having izuku and shigaraki interact more with shigaraki coming to know and understand izuku better as a person and vice versa. Shigaraki needs to understand izuku to a deep core level to even understand just how mistreated izuku was in the past and is kind of now.
You can start with shigaraki in the mall going to izuku for advice and have the interactions build up from there. Izuku won't tell anyone due to a variety of factors like not fully trusting adults and believing that its better if he were the one to talk to shigaraki since he isn't being harmed by him.
Ultimately, the closer they grow the more they share to each other and the more they see each others lives in different lenses which has shigaraki helping izuku see that the way he is being treated by bakugo is wrong and that all for one is just manipulating shigaraki.
Obviously, it would take a lot of development to even come to this point and it would be interesting to add obstacles within their paths whether that be the downfall of all for one and all might, the overhaul arc and the rise of the MVA , etc.
Finally, moving back to the first point the series would have an interesting irony in where a villain wants to and is willing to save a hero. Where a villain manipulated for the means of evil breaks that structure because he wants to save a hero, where a villain becomes more humane and heroic than the others, where a villain understands and develops helping change society for the greater good with the resources he has due to the MVA.
The same can apply to izuku but in the opposite way.
I know I'm a bit late to the party but as someone who uses a CPAP because I have difficulty breathing in my sleep, I feel like Mic would have one if he's breathing slower because it's taking a bit longer for his lungs to fill up with air.
Hc that Mic sleeps like the dead. During the day he’s loud and there’s not a quiet moment with him but at night: nothing. No snoring, no sniffling, you can’t even hear him breathe. He’s also as still as a corpse. No tossing or turning at all.
And it’s funny because with his quirk you’d expect him to snore loud enough for the neighbors to hear but he’s surprising silent. Even Aizawa is louder than him since you can actually hear his soft snores. And you know that Aizawa was shocked to find this fact out the first time Mic stayed over at his place (shook him awake in the middle of the night bc he thought he died in his sleep form how still and quiet he was)
So when Mic is napping at his desk while grading papers, a student nearly calls the nurse because looked like he got hit with a suprise villain attack or something since he was face down on the desk and not moving at all. After that incident, Mic has to put up a sign that says “Not Dead. Do Not Disturb” if he hopes to get some shut eye without someone alerting the Recovery Girl.
