So anyway, here’s this bug
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: it’s more important to know and understand fully why something is harmful than it is to drop everything deemed problematic. It’s performative and does nothing. People wonder why nobody has critical thinking skills and this is part of it because no one knows how to simousltansly critique and consume media. You need to use discernment.

So we need to talk about “Weapons Factory” again…
And no, I’m not going to delve into the whole Anakin/Luminara dynamic after the factory blows up and they’re searching for their Padawans. That is a horse that has been beaten to death that this point and there’s plenty of great meta out there that shows how Anakin and Luminara BOTH love their student.
I’m talking about how good of an idea it was for the Padawans to go undercover into the factory while the ADULTS put themselves in the direct line of droid fire with bare minimum cover. There’s a lot of people that love to rip into Luminara’s character when she unveils her plan she and Barriss had prepared for but again I don’t think these people utilize critical thinking when it comes to characters that aren’t the mains. I personally think Luminara’s plan was full of good intentions. She wanted to keep the girls out of as much danger as possible (she most likely didn’t forget how quick Ahsoka was to put herself up against Ventress in their mission together and wanted to return the favor and keep Ahsoka safe along with Barriss). Look no one is going to disagree on how much that mission sucks for all parties involved, but Luminara seemed to try to make the most out of seemingly impossible situation.
1.) First off, the idea of sneaking the teenage girls into the factory was probably the safest option for the Padawans. Judging by Anakin’s reaction, the fact that there would be catacombs under the factory itself doesn’t seem to be common knowledge, thus the Poggle and the gang wouldn’t be betting on their enemies to know about it either. With that being said, having that kind of advantage immediately lessens the chance of Ahsoka and Barriss getting hurt as their enemies wouldn’t be expecting them and again…they are out of the direct line of fire happening outside. Anakin, Luminara, and the Clones literally have no cover. Do you really think it would have been fair to put the Padawans out there too when their own Masters are struggling? Luminara even said that with a frontal assault their losses would be high. Furthermore, there’s even a point where Anakin and Luminara have the Clones stay back while they go destroy the bridge.
2.) People love to say that Barriss being tasked to memorize the labyrith is like a form of child abuse but I hate to break it to you, it’s not. Anyone who has read Barriss’s EU novels (The Medstar duology written by Steve Perry and Micheal Reeves, which Feloni himself has also read) would know that Barriss’s wicked intelligence and memorization is very in character for her. Before all this terrorist bullshit, Barriss was characterized to be an extremely gifted healer whose intelligence was exceptional. It was also shown in these novels that Luminara would never ask Barriss to do anything she wouldn’t be comfortable with. Honestly y’all I think if Barriss did not have photographic memory, I think Luminara would have memorized that shit herself, because she would rather die than do anything to compromise her student. As I’ve mentioned this is not a far fetched theory as this was their dynamic written well before TCW that Feloni based on these books when it came to these characters.
Unlike Anakin (I love him too so don’t come for me) who didn’t trust in Ahsoka’s ability to run a briefing by herself, Luminara trusts and believes in Barriss. She gave her a task she knew Barriss could do and never doubted her Padawan for a second even when she too was starting to worry like Anakin.
3.) Like with any plan, there will always be risks no matter how meticulous it is. What ended up happening to Ahsoka and Barriss down there was a bad accident. No one can control the off chance that a bug would wake up and alert Poggle of what’s actually going on. No one can control the fact that the girls were outnumbered and that their bombs were taken away as a result of this development. It’s something Star Wars is always preaching about, there are just some things you can’t control, you just have to make the best of it and have the courage to make the better choice. It’s pretty evident in both Anakin and Luminara’s reactions when the factory went down that they were not expecting that and were hurting as a result of it.
In conclusion, there wasn’t a single person in this episode that did not have good intentions and I’m tired of Luminara being painted as this cold, heartless woman because of things she cannot control and due to her ability to have a handle on her emotions.
some people think writers are so eloquent and good with words, but the reality is that we can sit there with our fingers on the keyboard going, “what’s the word for non-sunlight lighting? Like, fake lighting?” and for ten minutes, all our brain will supply is “unofficial”, and we know that’s not the right word, but it’s the only word we can come up with…until finally it’s like our face got smashed into a brick wall and we remember the word we want is “artificial”.

As a Jewish person I ask- where is religious freedom for non-Christians in this new post-Roe era? Judaism tells us that our bodies are sacred and that life begins at birth. It tells us that a person should choose their own life when a pregnancy is endangering them. Some of us even believe that in life-endangering circumstances, abortion is mandatory in order to save the parent's life. About 83% of American Jews support abortion being legal in all/most cases, more than any other religious group. Judaism tells us that we need to do everything we can in order to preserve our own lives.
Where's OUR religious freedom? Does the US Supreme Court truly value religious freedom, or just Christian freedom?
okay I love the energy of witches on here sharing herbs that act as abortifacients and I think it's commendable that you're trying to help but please please please stop. so many of these herbs can cause liver and renal failure. theres a reason we've phased them out in exchange for mifepristone and misoprostal. you are not a chemist nor a doctor nor a licensed abortion provider. if you do not administer these herbs correctly to yourself, you can either get seriously sick or die.
I know that desperate times lead to desperate measures but you do not have to resort to home grown abortion. People have died from home abortions. you will have options. please do not formulate your own abortion.

I’ve been having a hard time dealing with the news of yesterday.
If you don’t know. The Supreme Court over turned roe vs wade, removing the federal coverage and right of abortion in the United States. This gives the power back to individual states which I believe as of now 13 have added trigger laws that will ban abortion in those states almost immediately.
I live in Canada, and my heart and soul ache for America right now.
My friends and loved ones down there and every citizen capable of bearing children my heart goes to you. This news is tragic.
This blog has never been a political one but human rights are not political and so I ask you kindly that if yesterdays news brought you joy, to unfollow and remove yourself from this blog.

If you go to a protest about Roe v Wade, make sure you remember these things.
The police are not your friend. They are not here to help, and they do not care who you are or what you’re doing. If you look like you might be a protester, they will fuck you up indiscriminately. Do not speak to them or interact with them in any capacity whatsoever.
If they arrest you, and they do not read you your Miranda rights, you still have the right to invoke them. But you cannot sue them anymore for not reading you your rights, because of the Supreme Court’s ruling. Invoke your right to silence. Do not speak with them unless you are asking for a lawyer. Not even small talk. Demand a lawyer, and then shut the fuck up completely.
Turn your phone’s location services/data/Face ID/fingerprint/etc. off before you go. Use only encrypted apps to communicate.
If you’re marching, cover your face. Cover up any and all identifiable features on your body, period. Tie up your hair and put it under a hat. Cover up tattoos and piercings. Wear all black, if possible. Do not let them identify you on camera.
Bring food and water. Especially water, in case of tear gas or pepper spray. Use it to thoroughly rinse your eyes and anyone else’s.
Along that same line, do not wear contacts.
Bring an umbrella. It’s a good deflector for yourself and those standing behind you. Use it as a shield.
Bring earplugs. Cops use what are essentially ‘sound guns’ at some protests, and they can cause permanent hearing damage.
There will be suspiciously convenient piles of construction materials such as bricks, rebar, etc., near where you’re marching. There is a decent chance that this will happen, and it has already happened multiple times during multiple different protests. It is bait. Do not use it. Do not look at the bricks, do not touch the bricks, do not pick up the bricks, do not even think about throwing a brick. The police will use that as probable cause to arrest you for rioting.
Do not go alone, and do not let the police separate you from the main group of protesters. This will leave you in an extremely dangerous situation. Stay with the group at all costs. The police prey on stragglers.
If you go with friends, make sure to exchange important emergency information with them beforehand in case any of you are arrested. Do not leave any of your friends behind.
Leave that same information with someone who is not going to the protest to be your jail contact, in case you are arrested and your friends are also arrested.
If you make it to a corner or intersection, turn quickly. Police will use those areas to try and break the group apart. Get through those areas as quickly as you can.
To keep the group together, go with the flow of traffic. If you need to lose the police, go against the flow of traffic where their cars cannot follow you.
If you are standing at a police barricade, do not put your hands on the barricade. They will hit your fingers with batons, and they do not care if they break your fingers. Instead, lock hands or lock arms with other protesters beside you. If you hold their hands, do not interlock your fingers together. This will get your fingers broken if the police hit it with a baton.
This isn’t a complete list of advice, but it was everything I could think of at the moment. Please use it to stay safe and use your First Amendment rights to speak and assemble freely.
