When I think about it, aside from the heartbreak in the final minutes, Endgame was full of the most amazing Tony Stark development and characterization. He was just so good in the movie. Like… as much as it doesn’t feel like it sometimes because we lost our hero, Tony fans were incredibly well-fed. 

Tony’s compassion was emphasized during his short scenes with Nebula in space. During the game with Tony, Nebula was finally able to win for once in her life.

Tony’s feelings were given time to breathe in the film. We see him reaching out to Pepper in the earliest moments, expressing his desire to see her again. It shows how much of a romantic he’s always been.

Tony got to air his grievances with Steve over the fallout with Civil War without being forced to apologize.

We got to see that Tony led a happy and fulfilling life for at least five years with his family. He and Pepper were happily married. Tony and Pepper have an amazing little girl together.

Tony is portrayed as a damn good father. Showing that he broke the cycle. He’s a better man than Howard will ever be. 

It was Tony who cracked time-travel, which should’ve been impossible.

It was Tony who ultimately made it possible to bring everyone back, because he selflessly put aside his concerns for his family (and his own happiness) to make the leap. Meaning: none of this would’ve worked without Tony’s brains (ability to find the solution) and his heart (willingness to help others).

We got classic Stark nicknames like “Blue Meanie” and “Lebowski.” 

Tony and Steve finally got to resolve their trust issues and work together. Tony’s the one who gave Steve his shield back. (And we also got Tony blatantly checking out Steve’s ass–and commenting on it.) 

Tony was always there to check and make sure the team were okay (ex: trying to get Thor to sit down when he got emotional recounting what happened during the events of Dark World; giving Bruce medical treatment after he snapped the gauntlet; telling Thor he was in no condition to use the gauntlet; checking up on Steve after the Compound exploded (”That’s my man!”))

Regardless of one’s feelings about Howard, Tony was finally able to find closure with his father, which he desperately needed. 

Tony had the strength to harness all six infinity stones without it doubling him over in pain. (He’s a badass bitch.)

Tony had the willpower to snap his fingers, knowing all it would cost him.

Tony Stark saved the fucking universe. He was literally “The One.” How many other characters can say the same? 

There’s a reason most critics are saying Tony was the emotional core of the story and RDJ’s performance was the highlight of the film. While other characters might’ve had more flashy moments or funnier lines, while other characters might’ve gotten happy endings, and Tony didn’t, the heartbeat of the film really did resound inside Tony. No doubt, he had the best story arc through the entire MCU–and Endgame was no different.

Anyway… that’s just some positive outlook. I know we’re all heartbroken by the ending. We had to say goodbye to Tony. His ending wasn’t fair. He leaves behind so much. But, in the grand scheme, Tony’s arc in this film was beautiful. It was the film.

Woman: From the video presentation it's clear that sexual harassment can take many forms in the workplace. A coworker with elevator eyes looking you up and down, a coworker shows you a cartoon or photo of a sexual nature.

Ziva leans forward and licks Tony's ear and neck, causing him to stand up in suprise.]

Woman: Another question?

Tony: Uh, yeah. If you slap someone on the back of the head like this... [slaps McGee's head, McGee slaps back] would that be considered inappropriate behavior?

Woman: Absolutely. Are you saying that this has actually happened?

[Jenny looks at Gibbs. Gibbs shares a look with Tony.]

Tony: ...No. Just wondering, that's all.

[Palmer raises his hand.]

Woman: Yes?

Palmer: What if your job includes touching, ah, naked people...

Woman: That is inappropriate at any time.

Palmer: Even if they're dead?

Woman: [sternly] Why are you touching dead naked people?!

Palmer: Well, I work in autopsy...

Decker's Policy

Decker’s Policy possibly states that when in serious danger, a person can fake death and stay in hiding until it is safe. When it is safe that person can come out of hiding and legally return to their previous status. This means that Jenny Shepard could come back at any point if she thinks it’s safe and she could take back her chair as Director of NCIS. This is why no one has said anything about the policy. I believe Decker was in danger and had plans to use this policy, as it was created for his own use. Unfortunately the bad guys killed him before he got the chance to carry out his plan. If he would have faked his own death, the bad guy who wanted his position could take it. However if this were to happen Decker could come back and reveal the bad guy’s plan, get his spot back and put the bad guy away. Decker died from murder but the cover up said it was a heart attack. Jenny was smart. Yes there were bad guys after her. Yes there was a shootout. But, Jenny was smart and faked her death. She was being poisoned, (her symptoms could be side effects of thallium poisoning as I’ve explained in another post. It explains why Jenny dyed and cut her hair because thallium causes hair loss and this would prevent people from noticing, it can effect the kidneys, motor skills, and it also effects the heart which is why Tony didn’t think she had a pulse.) Director Vance is probably in on this. He was completely prepared to become director. He stepped in right away and showed no sign of shock or remorse for Jenny. In fact he tried to split the team up and succeeded for a while, (probably to keep them from finding out he was in on this.) I believe when Decker’s policy surfaced and Jenny was pronounced dead, Vance realized he was basically fucked if she hadn’t actually been killed, which is why he never brings it up. If someone sees the policy they could suspect and look into this. This could also help explain why Gibbs, Mike and Vance had no problem with burning her house down to lie about how she died. Vance truly did want people to think Jenny was dead so that no one would question his becoming director. Gibbs and Mike understood that as long as the public knew she died, no one would be after her and she would be safe in hiding for as long as she needed. The note Gibbs found in Jenny’s house that had his name on it was left AFTER her supposed death when people were lead to believe it was her way of saying she knew it was going to happen. It was actually her way of saying she was alive and well. (Kind of like the House series finale: House left his name badge where Foreman would find it.) So, all this means they could have Jenny come back at some point. I highly doubt they ever will though. I don’t think Lauren would ever return to her role as Jenny, I don’t think the creators of NCIS would be thrilled about bringing a supposedly dead character back, but that’s just because that’s not the kind of show it is. If they ever bring up the storyline again though I do hope we find out about how Jenny is, at least to settle the nerves of the people who miss her. Even if none of this happens though, us viewers have the satisfaction of knowing there is a possibility that she is alive and well somewhere… (I like to think she moved to Paris… For obvious reasons.)
