Like this means there's never been a point in his life that he's been able to rely on anyone, never been tought or taken care of?

It makes me think about what his relationship with the demon king would be, like why he was originally at the castle when he and Diavolo met? Was it for business or something more personally

It also makes me really appreciate his connection and trust in Solomon, like Sol is probably the first person Barb has been able to really and truly relax around in a long time and I really love that (not to mention what that says about Solomon, is he smart enough to deceive our little Time Lord or has he genuinely managed to create a connection with him?)

Anyways this is just me finding a roundabout way to say I ship Barbatos x Demon King and I'm really mad that no one else See's what I see

Drabble ask game

"I'm gonna kill myself."

Barbatos's eye twitches in slight annoyance on Diavolo breaking his afternoon alone tea time. "And why is that exactly you have taken this decision?", the butler sighs, putting down his cup of tea.

"MC.....they're angry with me", now that peaks Barbatos's interest. You hardly ever manage to lose your temper with the prince.

He struggles to be proper and not laugh out loud at the sunken look on Diavolo, though he smiles amused. The young royal looks like the embodiment of a kicked puppy, fidgeting with the hem of his cloth as he takes a seat opposite to him with sad eyes.

"Did you do something to make them angry?"

"Well that's the problem, I don't know what I did!", Diavolo whines out. "They haven't talked to me all day-", and he goes back to fidgeting nervously, now with the teaspoon on the table. "Do you think they hate me?"

"I'm sure they don't, and I would suggest talking with them as communication is very important", his eagerness to make Diavolo leave threatens to slip through the cracks of his composed smile.

"Oh yeah....i'm sure that will help!", Diavolo's eyes light up in shine as he excitedly gets up, "thank you, Barbatos!"

Barbatos huffs in annoyance as the dust on this lampshade just refuses to part with it. Its been a few hours after talking with Diavolo. And Barbatos begrudgingly went back to work when he realized his tea had went cold.

The ping! of his D.D.D interrupts his thoughts.

Turns out, they were just busy and couldn't find the time to talk to me!

I think there's a disturbing lack of platonic Barbatos x Diavolo fanfic. Liiike...Diavolo grew up basically an orphan and Barbatos kind of adopted him

Diavolo's mom died and his dad flat out semi-abandoned him and Diavolo was left alone. His only friend was Mephistopheles and the term "friend" doesn't feel quite right since he only hung around because of Diavolo's status (I know Mephistopheles family pressured him and all so I don't hate the guy, but his intentions weren't purely out of care for Diavolo, and I know deep down Diavolo knew that and thats why he favors Lucifer)

I need more fanfiction of Diavolo as a kid interacting with his new dad Barbatos
