idk as someone with adhd, which is what I headcanon Bart with, I could see the reading the whole library thing. I've burned through wikipedia articles and thousands related to them just cause, I could probably burn through a library in relative two years if I had the time off work and a reason. I do admit that his becoming more serious and Kid Flash was hella scuffed though ngl. Also this is in no way me saying that headcanoning him autistic is wrong, just offering another perspective. Hell he could be adhd and autistic, whatever way the character resonates with you.

Hyperfixation is actually very common! Bart has shown plenty times that he can focus his efforts on one thing while at superspeed, like when he does his homework that takes him two weeks in his perception of time, but a couple of seconds to the outside world. So the library thing doesn’t actually surprise me much! I think it’s great he’s expanded his knowledge and used his eidetic memory for more of a practical purpose. He’s basically a walking fact book of infinite knowledge and him knowing the entire human nervous system, how to take something apart and put back together, plus all those fun facts by memory is the coolest.

But on the other hand, Bart has a “danger deficit disorder” as it’s said. He’s gotten better at distinguishing real danger from nonexistent ones, but it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s the type to stop for a second. Bart thinks on his feet better than all the speedsters before him, and he comes up with plans that don’t need to be thought out so much as improvised. He’s the king at improvisation. Taking that away from his character basically strips him of a big thing that makes him unique and himself. It was a big no on their part. Listening to a plan means that’s wasted time to be saving people, stopping to look at his surroundings means that something could have been done quicker to stop his enemy. His mindset is what makes him impulse and they deprive him of that when making him “Kid Flash”. So uncool.

I think Mark Waid did a great job of keeping Bart’s development at a casual pace, keeping his character the same while still leaving room for growth. Plus, coding him with ADHD was a conscious decision on his end, which I find fantastic.

This newer version of Impulse feels too different to me. And after, y’know, DYING five times, you’d think he’d be less… cheery? Like— He was never to begin with! He’s, in simple terms, as teenager as they come. Not too bleak of an outlook, but not a peppy one either. Finds violent video games amusing and fights kids, steals cars, swears a bit, but not as much as people probably expect from highschoolers. He doesn’t just like to fit in, he wants to blend in the background, go unnoticed. Stay quiet and handle situations as they come.

Him as Kid Flash feels too off for me. Bart as anything but Impulse just feels like a violation.

Headcanon #99

Wally and Dick would love to sit down on some tall building and just watch the nightlife of whatever city they might be at, before when they were just starting in the young justice league is when Wally suggest using the zeta tubes and see the world and then they just stop exploring the cities and just watch them form up high. They would talk about just about everything and eat whatever snacks they had, or just sat in quite as the city noises filled the silence for them.

Then they were broken up they would accidentally find each other on a rooftop that called for them it would seem, the awkwardness was there and after serval accidental run-ins they just silently agree to just sit in silence since they just gravitate towards each other company. Sometimes they would share a drink and watch the lights.

After fixing their relationship starting out as friends and seeing where it goes they would joke around and begin taking jabs at each other in all fun, a night filled with laughter and shitty jokes only they got.

This Is Maggie. She’s My Healer And Protection Spirit. As A Wiccan That Preforms Many Rituals And Such,

This is Maggie. She’s my healer and protection spirit. As a Wiccan that preforms many rituals and such, I suggest always having someone like her around. I’ve befriended her over the years for having her and found out what her life was like before she inhabited the doll. It’s very interesting talking to her. If your scared that it may be an unwelcome entity or harmful spirit, a simple ouija bored session will do. Ask them questions, but don’t annoy them. Spirits are lovely companions to have by your side, and they can help protect you from things you cannot see with your bare eyes.

Bart’s time in the future

Okay, so let me get this all straight for those of you who don't know comic Bart or at all: Bart Allen's dad was gone and his mom couldn't take care of him constantly being on the run, so he was basically a lab rat for a scientific facility since... b i r t h just about. He was put into VR as a sort of sedative and to keep up with his vastily progressive mind and body since he aged about 200x the average person. (By the time he was three he looked 13) But in a way, speedsters have this kinda "dog years" effect in that everything in the world for them is slowed because that's just the way they see everything. So, in technicallity, while the scientists only had him for three or four years, to Bart it was 16??? And don't get me stArTed on the physical and pshycological effect of that. He never saw another living person until he was 16. He never had any kind of physical contact until he was 16. Could you even imagine?? No wonder the kid is so touch starved. (I feel like him and Kon bond over the fact they're younger than their bodies progression but besides the point). So he's been in this facility for 16 years, spends all that time in a Virtual false reality where his only friend was some weird VR program named Dox, which is probably symbolysim for the doctors that experimented on him when he was put under, and which he named his dog after, he's never felt affection or talked to people outside of that, never got a chance to meet his parents, has more villain relatives then Hero and STILL didn't go to the dark side after THAT?? Can still show off the best fake smiles and persona front after all that?? Had to endure more than MOST EVERYONE in only THREE YEARS which was actually SIXTEEN and STILL is GOOD?? You cannot tell me that this is the bravest kid you've ever read about, you cannot. And even with all that, he finds it in himself to forgive many of those who've wronged him. Listen, Bart Allen is by far the most amazing character I know and you can fight me on this. He's been through more than all the Batfam COMBINED. If he wasn't so bright and cheery, I bet Bruce would've adopted him. (another thing I forgot to mention, the fact Wally practically gave Bart away to Max and made the kid feel unwanted, even though Max became like the only crutch Bart had/a father figure, not even Barry wanted him when he returned from the dead. Assholes) He's died FIVE TIMES and he's still a hero. He's experienced this over and over, and still is a hero. He left his home and practically erased it's existence so now he's a time anomaly, who doesn't really fit in anywhere in time, and is still a hero. Fuck your favourite angst characters, Bart Allen takes all the cake.

The team suffered the wrath of Batman, but not his protege... Until now.

Dick Always seemed to keep his cool with any situation, which is why everyone was surprised that day they learned not to get on his bad side. He was tired from late night training, a fight with two-face and trying to keep his brothers from killing each other and was only running on one cup of coffee since that’s all he had time for before school. Not to mention he was called to the mountain immediately after the bell rang so he didn’t even have a moment to rest.

Back to the present, Artimus and Wally were at each other's throats and their leader wasn’t there to defuse the situation. Robin was in the executive chair in front of the dozen screens surrounding him, rubbing his temple as the shouting made his headache spike. M’gann felt his agony and wanted to go to him but was too caught up making sure Artimus didn’t get a hold of her arrows. Conner was on the other end, holding Wally back but the speedster was struggling so much he let out a frustrated growl. In other words, chaos had broken loose.

Dick’s ‘tough love’ persona came out as he slammed his fist on the surveillance desk making everything on it clatter. “Enough!” He screamed, catching everyone off guard. Wally stopped struggling, staring at his best friend wide-eyed, Conner was surprised but more so focused on his hold of the speedster. Artimus stopped struggling as well, even though M'gann’s telekinetic hold of her released as the martian let out a surprised gasp, widening her eyes as a surge of emotions hit her all at once from everyone. “That’s it, all of you. No wonder We aren’t given any important missions when you are too immature to act like a team! Whether you like it or not, that’s what we are. I don’t care if you aren’t happy about it or don’t want to be friends, fine. But it isn’t fair for all of us to suffer from your ineptitude.” Robin crossed his arms and gave a glare daring anyone to defy him.

Wally and Artimus glance at each other before looking away quickly, one with a scowl and the other in shame. “Pull yourselves together and find mutual ground or the title of ‘young justice league’ will be ripped away from us and we’ll be put back with our mentors as nothing but a sidekick to the public’s eyes. Which defeats the purpose of this team entirely. If you have a problem with that, you might as well leave.” Dick’s gaze hardened, even through his mask everyone could feel his icy gaze. M’gann shuttered, Artimus was scared as hell but covered it in a scowl, Conner found a newfound respect for the teammate he once thought never stuck up for themselves, and Wally was shaking with a blank stare. The ebony huffed, dropping his demeanor for a much more tired expression that they all had failed to notice earlier.

“Robin, buddy, maybe you should go lay down. When was the last time you slept?” Wally quickly forgot his fear and turned into the stoic best friend he’d always been with the other.

“I’m fine, Wally.” Dick shot him a look that spoke ‘touch me if you dare’. The ginger heard the message loud and clear before backing off. The protege of the bat heaved a sigh of frustration before taking his USB from the computer and leaving the team to talk things out without him.

“Robin has a point. We don’t act like a team.” M’gann whispered quietly, on the verge of tears at the thought of being taken away from her friends. Conner stepped to her side with a comforting arm over her shoulder.

“I hate to admit it but he’s right. We screw up on so many missions and for what— arguing with each other?” Artimus grumbled, arms crossed over her chest.

“What are we gonna do about it?” Wally said, being sure to keep his distance from the archer to not spring yet another argument.

Needless to say, Kaldur was pleasantly surprised on his return from Atlantis that his team were doing the bonding exercises he had suggested months ago but was shot down with disgust. He didn’t know what happened but those who were there for the events made a silent promise. Do not make Robin mad.

the coolest thing about bart is the irony in his personality bc he’s called impulse due to the whole single synapse theory with translating thought to immediate action and on the surface that paints him as being pretty impulsive but he’s actually a very simple, smart, and subtle person. he’s not super outgoing so much as he is bored by the world that surrounds him, so after some outbursts he loses himself in thought often and that gives way to this side of him that does think and ponder and reflect, which i feel like is rly comforting for neurodivergent readers who are treated as if their behavioral patterns are otherwise abnormal or inconclusive. it’s so nice to have a character who isn’t ostracized by the narrative for his thought process and who we get to see be insightful and endearing in his own, unique way. i love him so so much

inaccurate Batfam quotes #34

Batfam playing Among Us

Dick: Super Sus, he follows people and disappears at random, every time he's imposter he vent camps. He really likes the vents.

Jason: Kills three or more people every round but somehow no one sees him do it. Kill sprees are his favorite.

Tim: Suspicous of everything and everyone, even if he's the imposter. always has crazy assumptions that somehow are right. Only likes to do tasks if he's alone in a room. Has a kill spree rivalry with Jason. (plays with Kon, Bart and Cass most of the time tho)

Damian: Has somehow perfected winning the game by strategising his kills. Always does his evil laugh and is super pouty when Imposters target him first. Has the best behind the scene commentary, along with Babs.

Babs: Always cracking jokes and says "oop" a lot. Somehow is always the one to find the body. Lord have mercy when she's the imposter.

Steph: Very hesitant to kill when she's imposter. Unless she's mad at someone. Then she's ruthless. most likely to kill someone in front of other people on accident.

Cass: Never talks durring discussions. No one ever suspects her. She gets imposter 80% of the time. And she's scarily good at it. Her and Dami have a competition to kills in every game. Dami started it, she doesn't even try to play his game. She's just that good.

Bruce: No idea how the Hell to play. Forgets to mute himself when he's saying stuff like "Oh I'm imposter". Tasks? What tasks? He just follows whoever he thinks he can trust. Most of the time he picks the right person to tail cause they never kill him. Jason targets him first every time.
