I think there should be more fics about Gothamites talking back to the bats - specifically Batman
“Get inside” “you’re not my dad”
“Stop trying to fight the joker, PLEASE” “fuck you, I do what I want”
“The streets aren’t safe tonight” “bro it’s Thursday, one of chillest days. Please shut the fuck up about telling me about gotham like I wasn’t born here thanks”
Batman may claim to have no powers, but Green Lantern knows better. He’s convinced that Batman’s cape is sentient.
Green Lantern has observed it on quiet nights in the Watchtower, when Batman thinks no one’s paying attention. He releases control over his cape, letting it unravel and float menacingly around him in different directions. It moves on its own, sweeping across nearby surfaces, carelessly knocking over items.
There’s one thing Green Lantern knows for sure—Batman’s cape has a sweet tooth. Every time Batman passes the candy bowl, it’s mysteriously emptied.
Even stranger, it seems to influence other capes. Once, while Batman was talking to Superman, their capes briefly touched, and Green Lantern saw Superman’s cape come to life—swirling and fluttering as though it had a mind of its own. Superman, unfazed, didn’t even react to the way their capes were flapping erratically around them. Green Lantern was relieved he didn’t have a cape.
He told the others about his theory, but they were skeptical at first. They eyed Batman’s cape with suspicion as he was distracted by a mission briefing with Wonder Woman. But even the Flash had to admit Green Lantern might be onto something when Batman’s cape swiped their feet out from under them, sending them both tumbling to the floor.
Martian Manhunter nodded sagely and agreed on its intelligence, having felt the minds of four little beings flitting around underneath Batman’s cape. Maybe one day they’d feel comfortable enough to run underneath his cape too.
This started out as a “draw high tech gear based on the dragons” study but then one of my friends said it looks like a Big Hero Six AU and I couldn’t get it out of my head.
“After saving his Tribe from a bloodthirsty dragon, Viking teenager Hiccup Haddock suddenly develops a reputation that transforms him into the archipelago’s Dragon Whisperer. As he battles other enemies, he soon realizes that there are many others who share his special, high-flying talents. Hiccup must now use his newfound role to battle the evil Viggo, a madman who can open portals to other universes and pull different versions of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III into our world.”
Yes I created a Dragonverse au. No I’m not sorry.
Wanna add your own AU to the Dragonverse? Tag me in you’re posts if you make any. I will cry.
Yknow how lions will sometimes pretend that their cubs' biting hurts and stuff as a form of encouragement
Imagine that but like
Robin!Dick: *bap*
Bruce: *dramatically throws himself into a shelf*
Headcanon that early on in Dick's tenure as Robin, Batman gets seriously injured during patrol one night. Not enough that his life is in danger, but like, enough that he's unconscious and needs medical attention.
And after he gets him squared away, Jim Gordon sees a small, masked child covered in someone else's blood, and then his Dad (tm) instincts kick in, and he refuses to let Robin go to wherever he calls home alone. So he just... takes him back to his home.
And this can go two directions. Either
Barbara, not Batgirl yet, wakes up when her father comes home and sees a boy slightly younger than her, covered in blood, and befriends him, for sure freaking out her father but also making him incredibly worried about Robin and if he has any other friends or not.
or
Barbara, fully Batgirl, but not on patrol that night because she had a test that next day, wakes up when her father comes home, and comes face to face with her best friend in his masked alter ego, and they both have to pretend that they don't know each other for like two days, meanwhile Dick's sweating because like Holy shit, I've had sleepovers here before, whatever you do, don't act like Dick Grayson.
Either way it ends with Dick, mask still firmly in place but wearing Barbara's pajamas, and Babs fully passed out on the ground around a game of monopoly when Batman finally comes to collect his sidekick.
This experience would also make Jim Gordon even more terrified for Robin on a daily basis because before, he was sort of a shadowy, cryptic force that followed Batman around, but now Jim knows that he's just a little boy, smaller than his own daughter, that likes the same games and cartoons that Babs does, and I'm not sure he'd be able to handle that.
Dick: Happy Chrismis!
Damian: What is Happening.
Tim: Is Chrismimth.
Damian: what are you fools-
Steph: Merry Crisis!
Damian: Father, they have lost their minds.
[All four stare at Bruce expectantly]
Bruce, sighing: Merry Crysler.
Superman, trying to befriend Batman: If not friend, why friend shaped?
Literally everyone else, looking at Batman's costume, designed to be menacing and incite fear: He is NOT friend shaped!!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!! I bring my followers a longish comic with some Damian feels, I hope you like it :)
