Here are some new pieces for my fundraiser. The keffiyeh is edited from this open source work by a photographer in Gaza and the eyes are cut from a vintage movie poster. On the left the backdrop is the graffiti from a wall in Bethlehem (بيت لحم) in the West Bank.
You can find these and all my other designs here.
I have a couple more versions of the glitch art (on the right) with backgrounds:
I also made this Warhol inspired pop art last week with this same template (as well as a couple other things, see the shop to see all options):
As usual ALL PROCEEDS from my work are for my Palestinian best friend, to help him support his girlfriend in remaining safely in America until it's safe for her to travel back home and to help his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids in the West Bank (this has unfortunately hit his family quite hard) and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. He will donate anything his family doesn't need to the Palestinian charities he works with. He's heavily involved in activism and I trust him to put the money where it can make the most difference.
Here are some examples of the above on various products (personally I really like the glitch art with no background on stickers and pins):
Again check out my shop here for all these and a ton of other designs. Note that stickers are cheaper in bulk, if you get 4 stickers you get 25% off and if you get 10 you get 50% off (these can be any stickers, not just from my shop). They're great for handing out at protests!
Thank you to everyone who has helped out so far! Your support means a lot to us. I read my friend the sweet messages some of you have left for him through the shop and he was very touched.
A woodcut style dove wearing a keffiyeh over a poppy. The official national flower of Palestine as of 2016 actually seems to be the Faqqu’a iris, but many people will tell you that it's the poppy. Regardless of how official it is (often a vague thing when it comes to national symbols anyway) the poppy is an important national emblem for Palestine. It features the four colors of the flag (black, white, red and green) and is also said to represent blood shed on the land. Honestly I see it used a lot more than the iris (though both are lovely plants).
As usual, ALL PROCEEDS from this design are for my Palestinian best friend, to help his girlfriend afford to join him safely in America and to help his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the increasing Israeli raids in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries.
You can buy the design above on various products (shirts, stickers, etc) here. All designs found here (Redbubble will show you a random product, click on each to see more product options). Thank you to everyone who has helped out so far!
For those who haven't seen my posts yet, my best friend (the best person I have EVER known) is Palestinian, and a lot of his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the increasing Israeli raids in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. ALL PROCEEDS from these designs will go first and foremost to helping his girlfriend afford to join him in America safely, and after that helping his other loved ones weather this war.
These two doves with keffiyehs have been my most popular designs so far. Thank you to the customer who bought the latter on a pin today, and thank you to everyone who has contributed so far! These designs (and a bunch more) can be found here. Available on stickers, shirts, pins, prints, etc (click on each to see more product options).
I also have a couple variants on the second dove waiting for Redbubble's approval, I will post those when they appear.
We're hopeful that the ceasefire will mitigate the harm being done to my friend's family going forward. He's already had some loved ones hurt that this money can help so for now I will continue the fundraising (plus we do not feel safe hoping that the ceasefire will last, unfortunately). For now his girlfriend has remained safe and financial planning for her trip here is going okay. Most of his immediate family is okay (extended family and friends not entirely so unfortunately). I will keep these updates somewhat vague to protect their privacy. We greatly appreciate all your help!
I made a new metal shirt design for my fundraiser, found here (the design is also available on stickers and other things). This one is going for an old school heavy metal aesthetic, I made a black metal style one a while ago too, found here.
ALL PROCEEDS from my shop are for my Palestinian best friend to help him take care of his loved ones. Music is a huge thing I bonded with this friend over. We met through labor organizing so the first album I ever showed him was Panopticon's Kentucky, he'd never heard metal before but took to it immediately. Our first time hanging out properly was a spontaneous night spent in his car showing each other songs after a union event. He introduced me to Umm Kulthum that night, we hung out until about 1 in the morning eating pizza and sharing our favorite artists.
I'd also like to take a moment to highlight one of my personal favorite Arabic language metal/hardcore bands, Znous from Tunisia. In addition to this wonderful album you can also try this song called "Rotzhey Yeladim (Children Killers)" from November. Bet you can guess what that one is about.
Anyway here's a couple more examples of products with this design and the other metal design:
I also have tons of other designs in a lot of different styles. I'm trying to keep making more as frequently as I can until his family is safe (aiming to average out to roughly one design per day though I've been a little behind recently). Here is a sample of my other work:

A minimal poppy design, just an open source image with some lettering I thought would make for a nice water bottle sticker. This flower is common in Palestine and is often used as a symbol, representing the colors of the flag and blood shed upon the land.

These two photos, of an iris and poppies (both flowers that are commonly used to represent Palestine) come from the Library of Congress's "Wild flowers of Palestine" collection. There's a bunch of other old flower photos on there too but I picked these because they are particularly common symbolism. I tweaked the contrast a bit to make them pop more and added the "فلسطين" label to each so the meaning of the photo is more apparent when you stick them on things. They're small photos so only available as stickers and magnets, here and here.
As usual ALL PROCEEDS from my shop are for my Palestinian best friend, to help him support his girlfriend (though she may attempt to travel back home soon, her immediate area has been fairly safe recently and she wants to be near her family) and to help his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids and economic devastation in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. He will donate anything his family doesn't need to the Palestinian charities he works with. He's hoping to donate most/all of it if possible (plus more of his own money) but I want to make sure he has a financial safety net himself first until things are more certain. Grad school pays like shit (which is why I started this shop in the first place, I just switched it from raising money for me to him haha) and so many people he loves are in precarious positions.

Here's a small sample of some of my other work, shown on assorted products (products are available on shirts, stickers, notebooks, hats, pins and all kinds of other things, most have a much wider selection than the photos above):
Sorry I've been very bad at keeping up with this recently, I caught another nasty illness travelling for a conference. Thank you to everyone who has contributed! I'll try to start adding new products as best I can as I get caught up on my work.
Three hours to go until the ceasefire. I'm with my Palestinian friend at his lab, we're just working and waiting. I'm incredibly proud of the strength and composure he's shown in the face of this genocide, he's the most amazing person. Let's hope the ceasefire lasts, and the West Bank gets a reprieve soon too. Here's a poster I'm liking right now, with a reminder to feel free to print and use my stuff for anything so long as you are not profiting from it:
I want to thank everyone who has supported my fundraising shop. We received so much support, it's been so heartwarming! I really hope we get to spot some of my shirts, pins, etc at protests and rallies in the future. Even if the ceasefire holds this is far from over, we need to keep the pressure on!
I will continue to run this shop for the foreseeable future, there's so much damage to recover from in Gaza and Lebanon and the raids and economic restrictions in the West Bank are showing no signs of stopping. I would like to help him support his family as long as I can, and if that ever becomes less necessary I'll switch the shop income over to a relevant charity of his choice. For now, here is a selection of some of my popular designs:
You can find all of my work in my shop HERE. You can filter by product with the menu on the left side of the page or go here to browse by design.
Thank you again to everyone who has helped out! We really appreciate the support.
As always, EVERYTHING I RAISE from my shop is for my best friend to send home to support his friends and family in Gaza, the West Bank and surrounding areas of the Levant facing collateral damage. I think his family who live in Lebanon are okay at the moment at least but the situation there is obviously pretty uncertain right now. Hoping they stay safe, he has a few people who are very important to him living around Beirut.
I still haven't been able to find the definitive origin of the quote above, Pablo Neruda seems to be the most common suggestion. Would love to know if anyone knows. The two designs above are available on stickers, shirts, art prints and more in my shop HERE. Here are a couple new simple butterfly designs for my fundraiser, good for stickers.
As always ALL PROCEEDS from my shop are for my best friend who is Palestinian. The extra income will help him support his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids and economic devastation in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. He will donate anything his family doesn't need to the Palestinian charities he works with.

I filled the rose petals in this design with pictures of my keffiyeh. The scarf was a gift from the friend I am raising money for. He gave it to me in mid October, he was very upset at the time and I was trying to comfort him. He took it off and put it on me and insisted I keep it. It is now one of my most prized possessions and I try to incorporate it in a lot of my designs.
ALL PROCEEDS from this and all my other designs are for this friend, to help him support his girlfriend in remaining safely in America until things calm down and to help his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids in the West Bank (this has unfortunately hit his family quite hard) and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. The Palestinian friend I am raising money for is a labor activist, it's how we met. We had already been grad students in the same department for a couple years but we never talked until our school went on strike and he recruited me to help. I've seen him do some really amazing work with his activism, both for our workplace and for other causes.
Because of this, and because pretty much every union person I know is involved in Palestine activism too, I have made a few versions of the black cat/wildcat (an old labor symbol) wearing a keffiyeh for my fundraiser. Here's my new white on black one (found here):
Stickers of the wildcat designs have been a big hit in my immediate social circle since it's such a popular symbol here. Here are my older wildcat designs, which are better for stickers (found here and here):
As usual EVERYTHING I RAISE is for my best friend to support his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt by the genocide in Gaza, the attacks in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries.

Starving grad student running a small Redbubble shop (initially for side income, now for fundraising for my Palestinian friend). Made this blog to share my designs, found here: https://www.redbubble.com/people/fairiedance/shopMy best friend (an absolutely brilliant scientist and compassionate social activist, seriously the best person ever) is a Palestinian grad student studying in America, and a lot of his friends and family are being affected by the genocide in Gaza and the fallout in the West Bank and surrounding areas. I have started selling Palestine related designs in my shop. EVERYTHING I RAISE he sends to his loved ones to help in various ways as the situation progresses.Designs not related to Palestine have been removed from my shop for now (probably for good at this point).
