And this freaks Regulus out so much because he’s the only person James doesn’t say it to even tho he’s his boyfriend so that must mean he’s not in love with him. But here’s the thing, James has not said “I love you” yet even though he says it with everyone else because with Regulus IT MATTERS. It’s not just a quick “bye I love you” like with his friends it’s a real meaningful impactful on their relationship kind of “I love you” and he’s scared he’s going to scare Reg off. On top of that James has never had someone love him back romantically and he’s scared shitless that Regulus won’t be in love with him the way he wants.
