A bit different but I did fanart for Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, specifically the 1981 TV adaptation, because I love it and it's my favourite show of all time :3 also because I met Peter Davison at Captial Sci-Fi Con in Edinburgh yesterday! Obviously he was Doctor Who, but he also played Dish of the Day so I asked him to sign a print, and I gave him another copy as a gift, so hopefully he likes it! He was super super nice!
had a dream that there was this new tiktok trend called "scrubbing" where people would take images of fictional characters and put them in images of bathtubs and drag around transparent pngs of soap and brushes with their tiktok art tablets and like liquify tool their hair down to mimic giving them a shower. and people would get into flamewars in the comments of every single video over the types of soap they picked and if the images had decently removed backgrounds and if they got soap in their eyes. and it got onto the news because it turned out everyone doing the trend was doing it compulsively like they physically couldn't stop and each video was a solid few minutes long because they were just collectively obsessively recording themselves fake-showering these fictional characters and arguing about it online
I had to slightly alter what I originally made for the server with my friend but uh. Thought it was funny enough to post on main
this is how amok time went right
I love having to explain the concept of up and down to a grown ass adult š
If Staff ever implements the editing method from Mastodon, we'd be fucked.
Currently, on Tumblr, if you edit a post, all the former reblogs stay exactly the same.
On Mastodon, editing a post changes all the boosts and simply notifies the people who interacted with the post prior to the edit.
Now, can you imagine that on Tumblr?
Surely giving the OP the ability to edit their post after hundreds of thousands of people have reblogged it would be a perfectly balanced feature that I'm sure the Tumblr' userbase has never abused before.
Iāve only got three possible reactions to watching a TOS episode:
āI canāt believe this airedā (the worst plot youāve ever seen on tv)
āI canāt believe this airedā (a piece of media so beyond its time and still relevant to todayās discussions, that Iām surprised it didnāt got censored at the time it went on air)
āI canāt believe this airedā (gay as fuck)
