-people automatically assume he's nice because he's quiet and introverted when in reality he's just talking shit about everyone behind their backs
-has an anonymous social media account with photos of every single new job listing in their town. there's over 100 posts. he only made the account a month ago. (everyone who follows it thinks he's making these job listings up. he's not)
-brings his camera with him everywhere (if you do something dumb, trust he's recorded it, he can and will post it online)
-has been trying to convince the rest of toothache for the past year that they absolutely must film their own ghost hunting show, says it'll be good “marketing” for their band (he just wants to go ghost hunting)
toothache lore:

-they were the first 6 people who moved into the apartment before the landlord was forced to take all the listings down by the council because it did not pass ANY safety guidelines
ooo yes very sporty, not like any specific sport tho, just has the level of athleticism that pisses everyone else off because he's genuinely amazing at every single sport he tries, although more often than not uses his athletic prowess to cause shit, like climbing on the roof of the building opposite the council building to hang up a massive aquarium petition sign (and if you see him doing it, no you didn't, no one would even believe you if you told them)
(Makki totally disabled the security cameras for him, because what screams romance like teaming up to deface public property?)

Personally, I think Tendou is the kind of boyfriend who wears Ushiwaka's jersey even if it's not a game day. You'll can catch him wearing it while grocery shopping on a Tuesday morning, he's not trying to show off or be supportive it just genuinely makes him very happy to wear, and brings a sort of personal comfort along with it. Plus, it comes with the added bonus that if anyone asks about the sports team/ if he's a fan he gets an excuse to say "actually this is my best friend's jersey, didntya know?" and then have to really quickly correct and explain that yes he is a fan and "its a real jersey sorry that was confusing he's a real athlete this isnt like a hobby thing look you can google it and everything he's playing at the olympics- no I'm not lying to you why would I- yes I know this is an Adler's jersey and it says here that he's playing for Poland- no I know he moved - Well I haven't had a chance to get the new jersey it's a relatively recent change and what do you mean you don't believe me? Just because you think I didnt know which team he plays for? No I'm not lying to you! Why would I be lying to you? He's my boyfriend and-okay, yes, yes, I did say best friend the first time and now I'm changing it to boyfriend but that's just like a thing between us its fine- oh my god I'm not lying I swear he's a real athlete and he's my best friend and also my boyfriend and he's technically in Poland right now but he used to be- you know what I don't need to justify myself to you! YES HE IS A MENACE but only his band knows the true extent of his shenanigans because the rest of the town is under the impression that he's a "nice quiet boy" so like an ✨undercover menace✨ (but like a nerd menace where almost all his shenanigans revolve around sharks or ghosts,, or all the blackmail he manages to film with his camera)
omg I love those glasses yes yes CANON IMMEDIATELY THE BAD LUCK GLASSES R PEAK (lmao imagine toothache keeps trying to throw them out but somehow they keep magically reappearing) (they throw them in a dumpster they find on the furthest corner of town and the next day Finn walks into their band practice wearing them and they're like "WHERE TF DID YOU GET THOSE" yelling at him to put them down like when a pet cat walks in the house with a mouse in its teeth)
ok ok so Finn and Cory (childhood best friends) live together, and then Tsuki and Mei (they're gf's) live together as well, Tsuki and Mei are crazy cat ladies who adopt any and every stray cat they come across (it's gotten serious, they have a cat patio) (so far they have a tuxedo cat, a black cat, and a tabby Mainecoon)
oh yeah he 100% believes in ghosts, he's convinced that there are so many abandoned buildings in their town because they're all being haunted by ghosts when in reality they're just abandoned because the council ✨doesn't have enough money to fix them✨, also he totally blames every minor inconvenience on ghosts even if it makes zero logical sense for ghosts to be involved

other than the roommate pairs they all met after moving into the apartment and bonded over ✨how shitty all the appliances were✨ (they swear there's a water pipe broken or a new gas leak at least once a week) (I'm not even sure how they all haven't died yet but here they are?) (they get through each week with a roll of duck tape and pure will power alone)
they mostly play early 2000's style pop punk music :D
yes they write their own music!! most of the songwriting is done by (two members I haven't drawn yet lmao sorry) Tsuki and Dawn!

omg him thinking he's at a punk show is absolutely hilarious,, I feel like her and Makki are the same brand of insane, like toothache are performing a rlly slow/emotional song, the crowd is all somber, and then there's just Mickey and Makki jumping up and down and waving their arms like they're at a rock concert and hyping each other up, the rest of toothache is giving Makki the stinkeye and the crowd is ✨very✨ confused
I imagine that every time they pass each other in the grocery store they give each other a head nod in approval at their baskets filled with equally weird shit, Mickey's basket is filled solely with cat treats for the cat cafe and Makki is piling as many tins of canned soup into his basket as possible (he doesn't even like soup) because he suddenly decided he had to be prepared for if the apocalypse hit tomorrow

Iwaizumi Hajime is so oblivious to his crush on his best friend that he subconsciously seeks out partners that have his mannerisms and everyone becomes aware of his crush on Oikawa when he starts dating a girl that is, in every major way, almost identical to him. This girl is tall, as tall as Iwa is, and she keeps brown hair cut in a boyish fashion and she is incredibly popular with the boys at their school for being a flirt and being all sweet but she's secretly really very competitive and she's either on the girls volleyball team or captain of a different sports team and Iwa speaks to her almost exactly the same way he does Oikawa and she just giggles and spits it right back and the rest of the team - Hanamaki and Matsukawa specifically - are incredibly weirded out by this new addition to their friend group but, hey, Oikawa gets along with her so well, they share a lot of interests and relate to each other so they're fast friends. but then there's one day, one day, where they're sitting around and Iwa is talking about this girl of his and about how she's so cute because despite being really focused on her athletics, she's secretly a nerd and she has this little alien keychain she's had since she was a kid. And Hanamaki watches Oikawa lift his head up, and look over and make eye contact with him, and he can see Oikawa having a moment of intense self awareness as a bunch of puzzle pieces previously unconnected start slotting into place and Oikawa just mouths "oh my God-" so Hanamaki mouths back "We know," and Iwa continues to not realize what he's done.

I've come back to this fic a couple of times, and every time I get such a strong visual of Peter lying with his face smooshed into the snow, his arm outstretched and hand curling. I'd always wanted to put that visual on paper, but for 2 years I was in the trap of not wanting to make it since it wouldn't turn out the perfect piece that it was in my head. But then I started thinking about Outbreak a couple hours ago, and as we can see I apparently got over that hesitation lmao.
I think when I first read it I latched onto the idea of Peter seeming small compared to an unforgiving winter, the snow continuing to fall and almost consuming him, to sweep him away as if he was never there. After this point, the snow keeps falling, and soon enough you cant tell that there was ever a boy in that alley. While making this I remembered how Peter went through a lot of shit while it was snowing in Dark Matter; you have a thing for wintertime and despair, huh?
Anyways, I've been staring at this for too long so I don't know how I feel about it yet, but I hope you love it!
