Here is your mission.
In the spirit of april fools' week shenanigans and tomfoolery (It's always been a whole week wdym its only a day?), this week's sketchy Saturday is brought to you by one of our very own writers! Now, originally this idea was to get a writer to bring us a sketch so terrible it was comedic, but instead we ended up with something better!
Presented to you by our lovely dear @maru-iru, a sketch of the Watcher Child themself! Very beautiful if I do say so myself.
Take your pick.

So, let me guess– you just started a new book, right? And you’re stumped. You have no idea how much an AK47 goes for nowadays. I get ya, cousin. Tough world we live in. A writer’s gotta know, but them NSA hounds are after ya 24/7. I know, cousin, I know. If there was only a way to find out all of this rather edgy information without getting yourself in trouble…
You’re in luck, cousin. I have just the thing for ya.
It’s called Havocscope. It’s got information and prices for all sorts of edgy information. Ever wondered how much cocaine costs by the gram, or how much a kidney sells for, or (worst of all) how much it costs to hire an assassin?
I got your back, cousin. Just head over to Havocscope.
((PS: In case you’re wondering, Havocscope is a database full of information regarding the criminal underworld. The information you will find there has been taken from newspapers and police reports. It’s perfectly legal, no need to worry about the NSA hounds, cousin ;p))

Might be a weird compliment but I think part of why Cleo and Scott are such an effective team in the life series is because they're both really really good at bluffing.
Cleo is very outright with the fact that she doesn't consider herself very strong at pvp, even compared to other members of the server. But people are still very consistently scared of them. Why? Well, I think a lot of it is that Cleo acts like someone who is really good at pvp. They're often very threatening, very overtly aggressive, as a preventative measure, just to make sure they're never seen as an easy target. Cleo tells everyone that she can and will ruin them at the first slight against her, and frankly, people aren't interested in testing that. Even if Cleo doesn't actually consider themself to be the strongest fighter, it matters more how they're perceived by other people. Fire- which Cleo is very famous for using as an easy punishment for any wrongdoing against her- is also a very good threat display. Usually minecraft fire is, honestly, not that hard to deal with, and the damage is usually superficial (unless you're joel and just kinda stand in the fire until you die), but the thing about fire is that it's big and dramatic. Surround yourself in flames twice your size and make sure you don't flinch when they point their weapons at you and people will be scared of you without you having to fight, because you look like more effort than you're worth.
Scott isn't overtly threatening in the same way most of the time, but he achieves a very similar effect with his ability to keep consistently calm and collected. I've watched multiple scenes where people come to kill Scott just to literally panic and backtrack as soon as he acknowledges with calm amusement or irritation instead of seeming threatened (i also think this is how mumbo got him in wild life- scott is literally so used to startling people with a mostly calm acknowledgment of their murder attempts that he genuinely didn't expect mumbo to actually still activate his trap, even when scott was standing on it). I've watched multiple scenes where Scott is objectively outmatched or even outnumbered in a fight just for the others involved to falter or outright retreat because Scott wasn't acting like someone in any danger, because even if he's on four hunger and one heart, he often still talks like he isn't scared. If you he just smile or roll your eyes and don't flinch back from them, people will eventually get really confused, wary, or tired, and will, again, decide you are more effort than you're worth.
It's honestly a testament to their intelligence, social and situational awareness, and emotional control, that both Cleo and Scott are so good at bluffing (albeit with slightly different forms of it). I don't know how to wrap up this post, they're just really good at this competition, thanks for coming to my ted talk.
Adding onto this, how everyone met their soulmates + current status:
Mumbo|Lizzie: Mumbo's dad got annoyed that his son was always fiddling with redstone instead of being a normal CEO's child, so sent out a search for his soulmate. Found Lizzie. Made the two meet. Lizzie doesn't work with redstone much but is quite cheerful to do anything to help annoy Mumbo's dad. They moved in with Etho and Joel and are platonic. Mumbo does freelance engineering and Lizzie works at a coffee shop + does gaming streams.
Skizz|Gem: Met in high school accidentally when Gem refused to do classwork in favor of composing music on her computer, meanwhile Skizz caused a small redstone pop whenever teachers would open classroom doors. They both got detention, made conversation, got each others' numbers and forgot about it. Years later they met by chance again in a library when they wanted to check out the same book about soulmates, checked tattoos, and realized. Platonic, Skizz is a professional troublemaker/graffiti artist with a side hobby (actual job) of marketing design for Mumbo's dad, coincidently. Gem wants to be a singer but currently works at Lizzie's cafe. (Shinyduo possibly)
Jimmy|Tango: Tango got caught in an oil fire while working construction and Jimmy got soulmate pains through the link, both ended up in the ICU and met there. They're dating and Jimmy works as a freelance journalist, Tango does gaming streams.
Ren|BigB: Met in airplane customs as they were both going on foreign exchange studies, hit it off and passed the time with small talk, got around to showing each other their tattoos and realizing they're soulmates. BigB is a photographer and Ren is unemployed, BigB's like "i can't support us both". They're platonic, Ren is dating Martyn and BigB's dating Grian (both in secret).
Grian|Scar: They tell everyone that they met in Egypt, when they got lost in the desert, and both found the same oasis. One of them passed out and the other carried them back to civilization (details depend on who's telling it) and when they woke up, they saw an angel watching them and kissed them before even knowing they were soulmates. In reality they've been classmates forever and neither of them has ever been to Africa (they want to go, though). They're dating, of course, who am I to deny the Scarian nation. Grian is an author and Scar runs a small horse and llama stable (they regularly go hiking).
Joel|Etho: They met as online friends in high school and got around to meeting irl while they were in college, compared tattoos and moved in instantly. Both their fanbases cheered and started shipping them incessantly when it happened. Eventually Mumbo and Lizzie moved in with them and Joel and Lizzie got married. They're platonic but pretend they're dating. Joel does gaming streams and Etho also does that + runs a side channel making Naruto content.
Impulse|Bdubs: Met in college, both were into spelunking as a hobby and met on a trip together. Now Impulse is a drummer for a popular band and Bdubs does gaming with Etho and Joel (the fandom is in a war over the straight-and-narrow SmallEtho vs. the rebellious "heathens" shipping Ethubs).
Cleo|Martyn: Met when Cleo and Scott moved into the same apartment building as Martyn. Martyn (for show) keeps doing a series of increasingly ridiculous stunts to try and get Cleo to move in with him. Cleo knows he's not serious, but pretends to be annoyed. Cleo doesn't really care if about being soulmates with someone, but is good enough friends with Martyn that they have a deal to get a house together with Scott if they get enough money. Cleo's in medical school and Martyn works at a martial arts place (I'm partial to karate) and also does gaming.
Scott|Pearl: I mean I already basically explained them lmao. They're platonic at the end. Pearl doesn't really care about being together based on Soulmates (doubly so if I do Shinyduo), but feels like Scott specifically is angry at her for no reason, and the others start to think she did something wrong to make him so angry at her. Plot happens, yay! Scott's an architect, and is very good at it, but ultimately he wants to be part of a band (he, Impulse, and Gem all join up eventually). Pearl runs a doggy daycare.
Enjoy I think!
Hey hey wonderful Trafficblr peeps, especially @whiver-wyverncat lovely mutual <3 love you lots
So I was rewatching Scott's Double Life, and I had a fanfiction idea that needs rating (I don't know if this has already been done, but either way I thought it could be a fun thing after I finish the Joelzzie siren AU)
Modern, Soulmates AU, where everyone's paired up like Double Life, along with Skizz & Gem and Mumbo & Lizzie. Scott is the main PoV. People who haven't found/don't reside with their soulmates after they're in their 20s are kind of seen as having failed in life, and dating someone other than your soulmate is absolutely SCANDALOUS
Soulmates share a tattoo on their hands. They'll also have any injury done to their soulmate appear on them until they meet. Scott and Jimmy dated in college before Jimmy found Tango, and they broke up on sour terms (Jimmy got sent to the ICU because of Tango, which is where they met, and Jimmy thinks Scott abandoned him there, but actually the nurse people wouldn't let Scott see Jimmy because they weren't soulmates. Scott got angry at the idea of "soulmates" after that and when he found out Jimmy found his soulmate, he got really flighty and Jimmy decided to break it off.)
A couple years later, Scott's living with his college friend Cleo, and Cleo has a girl friend group and they realized Pearl's tattoo looks similar to Scott's (Scott wears gloves but Cleo's seen it before he started wearing them) and when Scott ends up out with Cleo they stumble into her friends who insist they get Scott and Pearl to meet and check if they're soulmates
Scott gets trauma triggered and goes on a bad bender the night before they're supposed to meet and (ironically) ends up in the ICU. The Girl Group gets Pearl in there because she suddenly felt awful and they're like "alright let's get to Scott now" and the worst happens, and they're Soulmates
Enemies-to-friends with hints of will-they-won't-they (but they won't) about challenging the amatonormative society with gay and platonic shenanigans. (also Scott and Jimmy make up in the end dw)
I think- Pearl, you deserve this more.
So I've noticed recently from some of the Traffic analysis blogs I follow (shoutout to @ooooo-mcyt) that the interpretations of Life series members can change DRASTICALLY depending on whose POV you watch, if you watch one consistently. For example, a lot of people (myself included) see Pearl as the protagonist/anti-hero of Double Life. But until I got into Traffic analysis, I didn't realize so many people saw Scott as the villain of that, to the point of blaming everything in the series on him. And that's probably because I watch almost exclusively Scott's POV, so my default mindset is "Scott's the hero". In a similar vein, I'd never considered Flower Husbands with toxic Scott toward Jimmy as a possible interpretation, partially due to my bias towards him.
So! I'm wondering, people who watch only one POV, or watched a certain season from one POV at first, what are online opinions on the characters/season that surprised you? This has been scratching at my brain and I've been wondering whether others have had similar experiences
Do you think Jesus ever got many carpenter requests after he started preaching? Like did anyone ever go up to him and be like; "My Lord! My Lord!" And the disciples are all: "The Master won't do anymore miracles today." But obviously Jesus is like; "Yes, my child?" And they just ask what his basic rate is to fix their door.
"I made a whole playlist for them organized by season"
Guys, My cousin knows nothing about the life series but has heard me ramble about it so much they know most of the plot and have a VERY basic understanding of some of the players personalities. So today they decided to write a Crackfic and I haven’t stopped laughing.
Peak fiction right there.
