started: Nov 2023 status: poor paintjob, unwearable
I've been obsessed with welding ("steampunk") goggles for a very long time now - I remember wanting to buy a pair on my first convention, but my dad didn't approve ("what are you even going to be welding?") and I didn't have enough cash on me (they were crazy expensive)
my love for Arcane has given the perfect opportunity to try and make some on my own, although I had no access to any materials besides cardboard boxes, so the purpose was to try and see if I could at least paint them properly (I couldn't, but I had fun), rather than to make something one could actually wear
ingredients: - toilet paper roll - rice box packaging - two large tictac boxes - I got possessed and weaved the belt out of embroidery floss like it was a friendship bracelet making competition and my life depended on it (because a leather belt would be too thick and I could't find any flat string/ribbon)
making props is another dream of mine and I'm looking forward to learn to work with different materials - I wish I could make things real and heavy, using as little plastic (worbla, eva foam, etc.) as possible, so not what you usually see in cosplay the main reason I can't do much (yet) is that I spend most of the year living in a tiny rented room in a flat, with no access to my family workshop, where all the fun tools are
old commission
I went outside to take better pics of the hyena friend!
it's an air dry clay figurine based on Cackling Villager - a VRChat avatar by that-darn-hyena, painted with acrylics and watercolors
back to April, when I drew lots of Jinxes in hope of learning something (it doesn't seem like it, but I learned a lot) this is an art collage of traditional sketches (my favorites being the grenade and sleeping Porofessor), two of which have been more or less painted over digitally (second pic is the comparison) there's also Jinx the cat cosplaying as Jinx, because I'm very funny
thanks mom
we have a bunch of "wild" cats visiting our yard and I jokingly named one Jérôme and kept saying he only understands french they won't ever let anyone touch them or even come too close, but one time I started calling Jérôme (with a terrible french accent) and he came and jumped on the bench next to me, then started cuddling aggressively out of nowhere
and he looks like this all the time (I tried to paint him)
that's it, that's the story
games imitate life
and I hate life
thanks for one like on my photos, here's some architecture (2022)
still can't draw so I'll continue posting old stuff!
this one's from 2023 and I made a short animation out of it, but I didn't like how it turned out
>"never been this close to learning how to draw"
>haven't picked up a pencil since 🔥🔥🔥
I'm 9 prompts behind 👍🏻 but I did today's one anyway
I also bought variuous types of pencils, never thought I'll do that ..and never been this close to (consistently) learning how to draw
might update the photo tomorrow to look less overexposed (edit: updated)
epic shark adventures and more, from a time when I tried to fight artblock by making silly ms paint doodles (more to come)
I got inspired by what Studson Studio does, because I'm something of a trash collector myself (I have a whole drawer full of stuff I'm hoping to use some day), but for a long time I couldn't get myself to actually make something out of it
I chose the farmhouse because it was an easy project to start with, but I must say that I really outdid myself and outrun my expectations I mean, it's wonky (especially the door, which I remade two times) but the painting was what surprised me I had no idea I could do anything like that and not only make it look good but also have fun
ingredients: - cardboard (house walls - hairdryer packaging; porch - cookies packaging; planks and roof tiles - coffee packaging) - craft foam (door and window frame, chimney bricks) - plastic from a box of pen cartriges (window glass) - sticks from the backyard (pile of wood) - toothpicks (porch railing) - airdry clay (pots) - paper (plants) lights up with a short, cheap LED string
