Somehow there are still way too many people who think a tailor is someone who makes clothes for men (or worse, just a male clothing-maker). Tailoring is a specific trade with a specific set of techniques—historically, the difference has less to do with gender than it does to do with flat-drafting vs. draping methods of pattern-making and fitting. Tailor is not the male version of seamstress, it is gender-neutral and it refers to its own history (and seamstressing/mantua making is ALSO a trade with its own techniques and history fwiw)
Finished! A sad Maglor by the beach 🦀
Happy New Year!
Latest and greatest embroidery project yet, complete with bling!
I am so excited to share this, as it's based on gorgeous artwork by @runawaymun that accompanies her fic To Partake, both of which I am asbolutely obsessed with (in case that that wasn't obvious).
I've been wanting to make this ever since I saw the artwork for the Nightingale Pin almost a year ago, but at the time I didn't really have the skills to pull it off. But I kept thinking about it and the bug never left me so here we are :). Of course there are things I would do differently next time, but I love how this came out regardless and I hope it reps the original artwork in some small measure!
I'm so inspired by @runawaymun's fic and art along with all the other writers and artists that post amazing things on this site every day; your talent and creativity makes me want to push my own creative boundaries, and so I have!
Along with mushrooms, I’ve also been making strawberry and Christmas tree ornaments! The trees get a vintage button for a topper🤩🎄🍓

Also bonus shinsou:
reblog if you’ve read fanfictions that are more professional, better written than some actual novels. I’m trying to see something
Me receiving a message just to find out that it's just a porn bot
Okay so my blorbo Lev found this adorable little shark chair and said it would be perfect for Sam and Max and ya know what? They were right
This is so cute, I might weep openly
so, today we, russian queers, may become "extremists" by decision of russian supreme court and thus our existence will be silenced and erased. any queer activism will be impossible for us. I don't know what to do anymore. I was heartbroken when they passed the laws about "gay propaganda" and transgender people, now I'm just numb. I don't want to escape. I just want to live safely in my own country.
DO NOT SUPPORT SALVATION ARMY
Reblog and put in the tags your female blorbos

To the folks who is responding to my silly little poll about how y'all are progressing on projects during this holiday crunch with "I don't make gifts anymore because they are not appreciated", I am so very sorry y'all have had that experience.
I sometimes think we all have.
I no longer paint, because as a teen I spent months on a painting for my sperm donor in yet another attempt to bring out of him the father I always wanted. He promptly began criticizing everything that was wrong. Heartbroken, I took it back on the pretense I was going to "fix" it. Years later, after I finally ended my relationship with him; I burned it in a ritual as a final break from him.
I never painted a picture again. Rarely drew.
Having someone not appreciate your gift or are pointedly indifferent to it will shatter your soul.
To all y'all who have experienced this, I am so very sorry. I give to you my sincerest love and deepest hope that none of us experience that ever again.
Also, I am so proud of y'all for protecting yourselves! It is not worth the pain and anger to go through that shit again. I know some of y'all have that deep-rooted guilt because you have heard "but <insert excuse>" your whole fucking life until it just sits inside you giving your internal bully ammo to hit you with. (Especially true when it comes to family.) Let me assure y'all, it's bullshit and it eventually goes away.
To those who are planning to give handmade gifts, may each and every onr bring the kind of joy that sets your soul alight.
"The Best Bean" Still needs binding This one is very near and dear to my heart. Way back in 2019 my partner adopted a cat (from my roommates at the time) named Mella. As you do, I gave her the silly nickname of "The Vamella Bean". After a few months of kitty name telephone her nickname just became Bean. When this tag started cropping up around town we would joke that that she would sneak out the house and do this while we were gone. Unfortunately we lost Miss Mella to illness in 2020. It use to make me sad to see this tag around but now I just smile and remember Miss Mella- truly the best Bean.
WIP Ask Game! Erestor is Elurín and Lindir is Maglor (somehow no one dies) 👀👀👀 I have so many questions! And Intrigues!
Hi! sorry it took me so much time to answer your ask, my phone deosn't agree with tumblr asks and I have to log in on my laptop to see them, which happens very irregularly. Anyways, this fic is still very much in the planning stages and is a crossover between an old abandonned fic of mine that uses the idea that Lindir is Maglor’s pseudonym in the Third Age, but also that Maglor kind of lost his memories and isn’t really aware of what he did and who he was before ending up in Rivendell (3 thousands years of self-imposed exile and wallowing in grief are bad for the mental health), and my fic idea/theory where Elurín survived being abandoned in the woods and took the name Erestor after his twin’s death. (More in this post: https://www.tumblr.com/camille-lachenille/728801294198980608/new-theory-just-dropped-erestor-is-one-of-dior ).
Anyways, the fic would start in the early Second age when Erestor and Elrond meet for the first time in Gil-Galad’s court and become fast friends. Erestor is Elrond’s greatest support when they build Imladris but doesn’t reveal their familial link until after the Last Alliance. Then, skipping a few centuries, Maglor is brought to Rivendell delirious and nearly amnesiac and Erestor’s trauma rears its ugly head at the sight of the Elf who destroyed his home. From there on it’s mostly Elrond trying to save Maglor and mediating between his foster father and his uncle, until they find a balance.
What is night? Restless and dark, a heavy cloak upon my heart.
My eyes burn and my hand shake, but sleep eludes me, cold hands gripping me in the dark.
I cling to the bedside light, stare at it until my vision blurs. I long for sleep.
My chest feels too tight for my heart, pounding anxiously in its cage. My breath is too short.
What is rest? It is night yet my mind races, and I lay awake.
