Welcome to Whumpay 2025! Up above you will see the basic prompt list and down below the cut you will see it written out in a list as the rules
Rules are the same as usual -
You only have to use one (Or two, if you’re doing the extreme edition.) prompt a day! But you’re welcome to use multiple if you want to, and it still counts for both.
I know the description of the blog says it’s a writing event, but if you want to draw or make other kinds of content, that’s cool too.

Stockholm syndrome in whump. Yes or yes? 👀
sci-fi corporal punishment: stasis
- victim is given cuffs or a collar that effectively freezes them in place. They still feel the passage of time, and will still feel anything that happens to them
- victim is then placed in a public location (city square, atrium in a shopping area, central office, etc) and left in the hands of passersby
- their crimes are holographically projected from the cuffs/collar to alert everyone of the severity. Despite this, even petty crimes are often met with great force from passing strangers
- it is legal to shield victims. Kind strangers or loved ones may stand sentry around them, but must be wary of using force, lest they end up in the same position
- sentences cap out at 48 hours, but multiple sentences may be consecutively served with a day's break in between
- more severe offenses sometimes see the victim stasified in an isolated location, which is then broadcast to the public. This is meant to encourage anyone who was hurt by the victim to seek retribution away from the public eye, but it often leads to more extreme injuries on the victim, dealt by strangers who no longer fear the shame of a crowd
- anonymous mercenary groups can be hired to protect a victim---or hurt them
- the victim's eyes are always closed before stasis. This is to preserve their sight and reduce damage. It also means they never see what's coming.
Accidental caretaker in whump is such a fun trope. Like. Just caretaker finding a whumpee on a random tuesday like some stray kitten on the street and deciding to take it home and then actually bonding
Your harassing neighbor dies. Then a bullying coworker dies in a crash. Within a month, people you’ve had bad blood with start dying. The police are watching you closely—but you haven’t done anything… at least, not that you know of.
Pick a character from your WIP that you think is under-developed and write their origin story. Or create a new character, same idea.
I'm sorry but you are 'open minded' about cutting and not smoking or drinking? That's just another double standard! Cutting is just as therapeutic as smoking and drinking so should I get environmentally conscious and people-around-me conscious over either one WHEN I AM IN SO MUCH FUCKING PAIN
Why do people react so strongly toward cutting? To me it's an equivalent of smoking or drinking so it's just another coping mechanism. It's not that serious. Chill the hell out

Whumpee was reunited with his team and friends. Although they had seen the aftermath, none understood the extent of torture whumpee endured during the time with their captors.
Until breaking news aired on TV.
Whumpee, not wanting to relive the pain, slipped away to be in a room alone while it played...
"Recent local footage of a young man tortured has been leaked from the dark web. We've blurred the more horrific details however we are warning; some viewers may find this distressing.
Strapped to a metal table in what looks like an interrogation gone too far. His captors filmed him being punched, strangled, having a tooth forcibly removed, shot with nail gun, even taking a branding iron to the chest and then electrocuted. It appears the young man stopped breathing, before being resuscitated and brought back to life.
Incredibly, the victim seemed defiant towards his captors during and following the acts of extreme and incomprehensible cruelty.
How anyone can endure so much, is truely a mystery. Whether the young man survived the brutality, is still unknown.
Police are investigating and are looking for both captors and victim. We urge anyone with information to come forward."
Whumpee woke strapped to a steel table. He noted a camera recording in the corner of the room.
"You're recording this?? You sick fucks."
His captor stepped closer and punched whumpee in the face.
Dazed for a moment, whumpee found his centre again, spitting blood up at his captor covering his clean white shirt.
His captor inspected the stain, his eyes switched back to Whumpee.
Staring down with an unsettling shine in whumper's eyes, he sang,
"Today son, we are taking you on a loOong tour... through Hell".
Love the oldschool scenario of whumpee being suspended by their wrists, their feet don't reach the ground. For three days straight.
Taunted by their captors and entirely sleep deprived the entire time.
Insanely tired but still defiant.
His prostate is there for a reason. Peg him until he cries.

An explosion shook the house. The door went flying from its hinges. The hero didn't even flinch. They kept eating their breakfast.
"Honey, your experiment knocked down the door again," they called.
The villain poked their head out of the lab. Their goggled were covered in soot. They lifted them onto their forehead.
"Sorry, babe," the villain said. "Can I put it back later? I'm really close to figuring out the formula."
The hero yawned. "Sure. Just don't let the dog get in. We don't need another pet with wings."
The villain gave the thumbs up and ducked back into their lab. Another explosion went off. The hero rolled their eyes, but they couldn't help smiling.
Caretaker picking an injured Whumpee up off the floor and pulling them into their lap, back against their chest.
Whumpee being semiconscious, only able to manage a groan as their head falls back against Caretaker’s shoulder.

“You should be scared of me,” the villain said. “I’m here to kill you.”
“You’re eating ice cream,” the hero said.
They were a little confused. This had not been the assassin they were expecting. They watched the villain look ice cream off their hand as it dribbled down.
“I can be an assassin and still want a snack,” the villain said.
The hero stared at them doubtfully. They pointed to their face. “You have chocolate on your nose.”
Why do we say “slept like a baby” when babies literally wake up screaming every two hours?
I want to sleep like a middle-aged dad who “rests his eyes” during a Marvel movie and wakes up refreshed, confused, and ready to barbecue.

“What is that?”
Whumpee froze, mid-motion, shirt half-pulled off their body. They slowly turned around, facing a Caretaker that looked like they’d both rather be anywhere else and yet unable to actually move. They let go, and the fabric fell back down, over the gnarly scar that ran the length of their torso. “What’s what?” they asked with an awkward chuckle. Caretaker didn’t seem to be in on the joke.
“Whumpee, what is that?”
“I, I don’t know what you mean. It’s just me. It’s always just been me.” Please don’t let this change anything. Please, let’s go back to how we were. Please, please, please.
Caretaker slowly walked into the room, right up to Whumpee. They reached out, stopping before their fingers could’ve brushed against their shirt. “May I see?”
Whumpee stepped back. Caretaker lowered their hand. “It’s not just you, it’s… everyone. I don’t… go around showcasing it.”
“That much is evident. We’ve been living together for what, four years? And I’ve never… Gosh, Whumpee, I never… never once…”
“This doesn’t have to change anything,” they cut in.
“How could it not?” they asked in turn, before they let out a deep sigh, running a hand down their face. “How could it not?”
“Just don’t let it!” Whumpee snapped. “Just— Just pull yourself together and stop looking at me like I’m some sort of freak!”
“You could’ve told me!” they snapped right back. “You could’ve told me instead of letting me find out like this! I thought we meant something to each other! I thought I was worth more than— than this.”
“I told you, it’s not you, it’s everyone!”
“Am I just like everyone to you?”
Whumpee stopped in their tracks, the vicious attack dog inside them cowering like a kicked puppy at the question. They almost whimpered, too. “I… No, Caretaker, it’s not that… I would’ve told you eventually…”
“You wouldn’t have.” They sighed again. “You wouldn’t have.”
Whumpee stayed quiet. Caretaker ran a hand through their hair, turning away. The guilty silence more than confirmed their assumption.
“Fine,” they said eventually, when Whumpee didn’t say anything. “Keep your secrets. Keep me at a distance, if you want. You know what? Maybe I don’t want to be close to you either.” With that, they left the room, not turning around to see the tears trickling down Whumpee’s face.

More Parental Whumper Prompts
Whumper, having just finished beating Whumpee so badly they can barely move, pulling them into a hug and gently stroking their hair, knowing Whumpee is too exhausted and scared and in too much pain to fight it.
Whumpee, in pain or with a high fever or under the influence of painkillers or sedatives, instinctively grabbing for Whumper's hand as they're about the leave, the word mom/dad slipping out of their mouth before they can stop themselves.
Whumpee pleading for Whumper's help as they're tortured by an even worse whumper.
Whumper arranging for Whumpee to fall into the hands of someone worse so they'll realize just how much better Whumper is by comparison.
Whumper gently brushing and braiding Whumpee's hair, their fingers occasionally touching the bruises they left on Whumpee's neck.
I really like the idea of slow burn abusive relationships in whump~~
Start out dating, the whumper (sadist) is nice and sweet and caring, but starts controlling and belittling whumpee in small ways, embarrassing them in front of their friends, etc til it escalates to the point they can’t ignore it. Before they know it whumper has taken control of their finances, and since whumpee has moved in with them, they don’t get out to see their friends or family much. Which works out because it’s getting hard to hide the marks :)

Here’s an idea for getting a plot;
1. Consume media. A book, a show, a movie, a play, whatever. Just pick something
2. Find something about it that stands out to you. It could be a dynamic between two characters, a plot line, an aesthetic, literally anything at all. Please note that THIS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE SOMETHING YOU LIKED - you can pick something you disliked as well, and if anything that might be even more useful depending on how you work
3. Write it your way, whether that’s paying homage to the original or changing it to be how you would prefer it to be handled, or even just an interesting alternative that’s not necessarily better or worse but gives you something different and interesting. You don’t have to use the same characters or even the same universe; just translate the point of interest into your own words
