FUNNY: baby tails canonically calling sonic his mom

HEARTBREAKING: his reasoning -- "a mother is someone who cares about you, therefore sonic is my mother" -- implies that either he didn't have a mother, or she was neglectful/abusive enough that tails concluded she doesn't meet the requirements of what a "mother" is supposed to be. in that case its implied that NO one has cared for him before sonic

FUNNY AGAIN: despite tails calling sonic "mother" to his FACE, sonic didn't refute it whatsoever. boymom the hedgehog

HEARTBREAKING AGAIN: implying that sonic doesn't seem to know what a mother is either

Two lovers have reincarnated throughout history, destined to find each other and fall in love all over again. There’s also this third guy that reincarnates alongside them… we don’t really know what he does.

one of the genuinely most important things about c!techno is his relationship to violence.

because when he says 'violence is the only universal language', he means that violence is what people understand. that he's been shown over and over that violence is what people listen to. he's experienced it firsthand. he doesn't seem to revel in it, it's more like he's resigned to it as a fact.

and on doomsday, it's violence that gets him the 'win'. he succeeds! his goal of destroying the government and making certain there will never be another is complete.

but instead of taking this as proof that violence is the only way, techno still wants to change. he admits to being a bad example and wanting to do better going forward. it's such a great moment showing that techno's desire to change came from himself, not because he was unsuccessful in his goals.

how i feel rn:

anyway anyone else starting to notice a pattern forming with tails

i know these two situations aren’t comparable in the slightest, but it’s mostly the general sense of tails saying that he can fix a situation that’s already done for (the eggnet is no longer accessible or the ship is going to crash) and him beating himself up when he “fails”

also pointing out that both sonic and amy seem concerned about this behavior

there’s also the whole thing where he stays in the restoration building to help, knowing he could be caught in the explosion (AND HE IS)

“and i’m not going anywhere, not when i can help!”
