Hey! We've started posting our new multi-chapter fic about Terzo and Copia that we've been working on for the past six months. Unwittingly, it has become an alternative to the RHRN storyline, as the plot originated before the movie came out. An alternative with a lot of blood, darkness, and gore, but with an attempt to give the characters the development we think they deserve. It's called 'The Chains That Bind Us'.
Actually, this story began when V @grim-kazoo-player and I shared a sudden coincidental feeling with each other: Terzo is alive. Not as a person in lore chronology, of course. But as a complex of ideas. Ideas have a certain persistence and vitality; they outlive their bearers. As V's namesake from Alan Moore's comic said, "There's no flesh or blood within this cloak to kill. There's only an idea. Ideas are bulletproof." A little time passes, and already a whole crowd of people in identical masks goes to storm the cordons, and the English Parliament goes up in flames.
As another author we like states, the gods are alive as long as they are worshipped. Every idea created by man is fueled by belief in it. Amazingly, the Third Papa's fame has not faded even after seven years of his absence; the echo of his thunder still rumbles across the planet, igniting hearts. This sense of the uncompleteness of his story was what breathed life into this work.
The fic is written in Russian. If you don't read Russian, you can use an automatic translator. Also we are very much waiting for your comments: in Russian, in English, in Quenya (we can read runes), in any language you use. The Ghost Empire is international!
Characters: Copia, Terzo, Sister Imperator, Omega, Nameless Ghouls
Tags and warnings: AU, Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Bromance, Magic, Revenge, Pre-Slash, Violence, Psychology, Psychological Horror, Trauma, Psychological Trauma, Tortures, Depression, Character Study
Summary: The fifth era is about to end. Copia realizes that his time is coming to an end, but sees no escape from the threat looming over him. Will he suffer the same fate as his predecessors? In a moment of hard thinking about the future, a mysterious visitor bursts into his life.
Babies, no need to argue over the correct version of Terzo.

See… there is a Terzo for every occasion, every characterization, he can be anything.
He’s free and one day he just woke up and decided the only label he was willingly to identify in was “menace”.
Now He REALLY looks like Dracula! Goddamn!
There are collaborations I could never, ever say no to, so I was so thrilled to create this cover art for Цепи, что нас связывают (The chains that bind us), the new fanfiction by @blackbird5154 and @grim-kazoo-player. I highly recommend putting in a bit of effort to translate it, it’s truly worth reading, so unique and intriguing and I’m so curious to see where it will take us!
I made several versions of this artwork, and this was the chosen one which, incidentally, it’s also one of my personal favorites. Also, this version only exists because I accidentally left two layers on, and they merged to create that unexpected background.
The moral of this story teaches us that if you are not satisfied with your art, you aren’t messing around enough.
Oh my God. They are making it so hard for me to let go of the Terzo resurrection theory.

The story behind this illustration:
Jonah tried to run away from God in the opposite direction of Nineveh and headed by boat to Tarshish. God sent a great storm upon the ship and the men decided Jonah was to blame so they threw him overboard. As soon as they tossed Jonah in the water, the storm stopped. God sent a big fish, some call it a whale, to swallow Jonah and to save him from drowning. While in the belly of the big fish (whale), Jonah prayed to God for help, repented, and praised God. For three days Jonah sat in the belly of the fish. Then, God had the big fish throw up Jonah onto the shores of Nineveh. Jonah preached to Nineveh and warned them to repent before the city is destroyed in 40 days. The people believed Jonah, turned from their wickedness, and God had mercy on them.

I can't even imagine how Papa III felt whenever he looked himself in the mirror. Did he know how much he looked like his father?
It was a rite of passage for clergy-goers to see Papa Nihil standing outside of the Hall Of The Fallen. Always clutching his hands together, but never entering. He never sees the scratch marks on the coffin of his youngest.
A GHOUL WRITER: Lyrically, this song is where the ambitious modern person is at his or her hour of dying. Or perhaps at one of those crossroads in life where it feels as though you are facing the end. Promotional materials for Meliora (May 2015)
terzo and his canonical kid......
#fucketh you LMAO
Everyone, you’re probably familiar with Jonny Bush, a brilliant artist who is licensed by Ghost but he is just stupendous. This is the first in his latest series—a medieval Emeritus!!! He has a whole lore that goes with it, just click here to read on his Instagram Jonny Bush
Just…never mind how gorgeous this is, he even wrote lore to go along with it! He’s amazing. I hope he does a con here in the States someday.
Do you guys think Kevin Kaufmann could have foreseen the impact he'd have? Did he know when he became a stagehand for Ghost that he would be dubbed "Jesus", become part of the show (Nihil trying to choke him) and eventually be in the movie and having to actually "act" as a character of sort? But the character is just himself?
He literally exists in the lore now, was he aware that that was a thing that could happen when he took the job? Did Tobias know?
This is amazing! Thank you @cityofmeliora and @blackbird5154 !
I've been thinking a lot about how the personality of Papa III was created. Tobias set the basic framework, the archetype, the cliché from which he drew. But the real implementation of Papa was on stage, where his image developed through improvisation. Some things were conceived on purpose, some were invented on the spot, some came out unplanned, due to circumstances. Papa turned out to be as lively and unpredictable as life itself. In many senses, he lived on stage.
Thanks to the research of concerned fans, there is quite a lot of material. It occurred to me to collect them in one post for those who want to get acquainted with the canonical image of Terzo. This catalogue uses materials from two users, Cityofmeliora's and myself. You can use them for fanfiction or just for your own amusement. So, allow me to introduce Papa Emeritus III!
Radley @cityofmeliora has an academic degree in Terzo Studies. He did a great job watching probably 100% of the Terzo videos and bringing us some interesting insights about his personality from the Terzo mines.

Placeholder until I finish. But what if epic 80s movie?
Who knows when I'll pick this up again, cos the technique I thought would be cool, is actually a pain in the dickens, it's bothered me every stop of the way and now I'm gonna have to fix it
I know we're all hurting about the prices but here's what I found. I don't think Tobias would just up the cost without a very good reason and it turns out that reason is the shitty application fee. And that little note at the end about there being no refund if an application is rejected? He's just as much a victim of capitalism as the rest of us. I understand the insane VIP price point with guaranteed front and center barricade now.
Let him be free!
Also I know it should be funny sister having a walkie but copia was so confused by it and I feel like it's another way she's still controlling him from the grave :(
I swear to Satan, Tobias! Please be Terzo!
GHOST // CHAPTER 18: WHAT A FIASCO!
Me, waking up in PST and opening Tumblr:
YES!!! I can finally see them live! I can't wait for my first ritual!
#I am willing so f***ing hard right now guys!
#Please return, Terzo!
or i'll hunt Tobias for sport
The way the Papas don't have a clear native tongue despite their accent (except maybe Secondo based on Papaganda, all of this obviously caused by TF who is sort of a language genius and adds a lot of cultural/cinematic influences to his portrayals and actually *tries* to speak languages of country's the band visits on stage but also naturally having his own accent he can't magically get rid of) makes me imagine that they a) were taken from their initial homes upon discovery that they exist (depending how you think Nihil handled that), in the way that you lose parts of your language when you don't get to speak it regularly anymore, something you can see in immigrants who left their home country at a young age (them being taken from Italy perhaps and to the main abbey in Sweden considering Terzo seems to speak Swedish OR being raised in English speaking countries like perhaps Copia who has a stronger American touch OR them being sent around the world during their educational years + clergy duties like Terzo in Poland) or b) might have grown up around Italians (and other nationalities) speaking English because of the international, multi-cultural nature of the clergy and were so shielded that they did not necessarily get in touch with the world outside of the Ministry where kids might naturally pick up on the language.
It's fascinating as a concept, considering how language is such a big part of our cultural identity and therefore shapes our perception of the world around us, the media we consume, creating dialects and language barriers, that I would love to know what growing up in the clergy, especially as a part of the bloodline, could look like. I imagine it's hard to find a sense of personal identity or perhaps make you cling to the bits that you do know about (Secondo speaking Italian in Papaganda despite it being promotional) but it also serves to make you more sensitive to the way other people might be shaped by their upbringing (which I think we can see in Terzo).
Continuing with observations on Papa III…
What do we know about Terzo's personality? Special Ghoul described him as a nice and joyful person, but they "don't know him that well". Tobias characterized him as a frustrated old guy with "his wounds and his darkness". Tobias likes the multiple layers: he creates layered songs, layered albums and layered characters.
At one of his acoustic performances, Terzo said: "Speaking of having fun and having, you know, this is a song about maybe possibly not having. Not having everything at least. When the night is over, some of you might have someone to go home with and some of you might not have. That might not be a good thing but it can be a good thing if you are in the company of your spirits... that can keep your company in a dark hour." And at another: "This is a song about having and not having. Spirits to accompany lonely nights. In times of trouble father Roky (*Erickson) comes and speaks to me." This is a reference to the song "Let It Be" by Beatles. Here is the original text:
When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be…
If you keep listening to this song, you will realize that it is very sad. And so is the person who quotes it. The one who says that in tough moments he finds solace in a musician who passed away long ago. That on lonely nights, ghosts are the only emotional support he can count on. Are they literally ghosts or are they memories of people he has lost?
It's generally accepted that Copia is the Main Sad Guy of the Ghost universe. He comes on stage and talks about depression. He has a sad face, lives with his mom, and has no friends. But what about the guy who comes on stage with a smile in his eyes to joke around and entertain the crowd? The guy who never complains, is always joyful and nice, ready to encourage you and hold your hand? The one who doesn't socialize with anyone in the band offstage, not even with the ghouls? Who knows all about having and not having and goes back to his lonely house to talk with his ghosts?
[Part 5]
I’m sad about how the whole situation has been going with Jutty Taylor and the other members, because it’s now become something that could be the end of an era. Quite literally.
I know it could happen anyway for such valid reasons too, but I’m sad that it has come to this. I’ve seen calls and viral hashtags and campaigns towards Loma Vista and RSE Management to have four ghouls removed from the band.
Four.
Like when will it stop?
It’s unfortunate that this is how people choose to waste their time, but I wouldn’t put any stock into what a select group of fans are saying and doing to “remove” members of the band. I think it’s disgusting that fans have developed a mob mentality over this. Anyone saying they have “insider” knowledge are full of shit. They’re just playing into whatever fantasies fans have about the band’s direction.
Criticisms of each individual musician are fine and understandable when warranted. Even more understandable are people expressing anger or frustration over serious allegations. However, we are neither judge nor jury re: allegations made by burner accounts on a platform notorious for starting rumors. That’s why I said it’s not our job to investigate them. No one on Twitter is qualified for that.
We don’t know anything that will happen in the future with Ghost. Changes may happen - that was always a possibility. We have no control over that. If Ghost gave in to every whim of a select group in the fandom, though, the band would crash and burn. Fans have got to trust that they know what they’re doing and if people don’t like their choices, they can leave just as they’ve done in the past.
