You deserved better fates
it occurred to me maybe i should post this somewhere instead of leaving it buried in the comments of annoying heroine so hey here's a non canon scene i wrote! back in the day somebody commented on chapter three to the effect of "i need our gojo to just fall from the sky and give yuuji a hug" and it made me realize i needed that too.
“Yuuji, Yuuji, Yuuji,” Gojo-sensei says, lying in the grass in exactly the spot he landed. “We’ve found ourselves in quite the strange predicament, haven’t we?”
Yes, he thinks, loudly, but doesn’t say it. He’s not able to manage much at the moment but a stuttering, “Sensei, is it — is it really you?”
“Could anyone truly imitate me?” Gojo-sensei teases. Finally sitting up, he lifts the blindfold on his face and looks Yuuji up and down. Then he says with all the approval that Yuuji doesn’t deserve, “You’ve gotten stronger. Those scars make you look very dashing, by the way! Tell me, how did everyone get along without me? I—“
“Poorly,” Yuuji interrupts. He’s afraid Gojo-sensei will say something like I had faith in you, and he can’t risk hearing that, because that means confronting just how much he let this man down. “Sensei— Everything went to shit. Sensei, I—“
He tells Gojo-sensei everything as the man slowly brings himself to his feet.
After he talks for what feels like an eternity, about everything that happened and everything he’s trying desperately to fix, Gojo-sensei finally gives a simple, “I see.” His blindfold is still pushed up to his forehead, and Yuuji has never seen that look in his eyes before.
But then it’s gone, replaced with a bright grin. “I’m sure Yuuji is doing a good job, then!”
“Huh?” says Yuuji. “But—“
“No buts!” Gojo-sensei declares. “You are my pupil, after all, so you can hardly do anything else. Or do you doubt my teachings so much?”
“No,” Yuuji says loyally. He doesn’t append a ‘but’ this time, even though one sits at the tip of his tongue.
“Besides,” Gojo-sensei says, and he wags a finger as if scolding but his tone has turned much too soft for that. “I know that you’re doing a good job, because you’re Itadori Yuuji, and good is what Itadori Yuuji does.”
Yuuji huffs a half-laugh. “Actually, I’m Igarashi Yuuji here. That name was taken.”
“Hm. I suppose it would be,” Gojo says as he leans backward in thought. “Maybe I should give you a nickname! Wouldn’t that be fun, Yuuji? Would you like a nickname from your magnificent Sensei? Maybe I—“
The man cuts off as Yuuji’s forehead hits his shoulder.
Yuuji feels Gojo-sensei stiffen slightly, before relaxing into it. He knows his teacher has never been a particularly touchy person, except when he’s intentionally being a nuisance, or when he’s taking someone into his Domain and he has to keep them from actual braindeath. Genuine, physical comforts like this — well, they’ve happened, but always few and far between. Yuuji is mostly the one to initiate, and he did that less and less as he realized that infinity wasn’t the only thing holding Gojo-sensei apart from all that reached toward him.
One hand settles on the back of Yuuji’s head, and another on the middle of his upper back.
“Okay,” Gojo-sensei says. A thumb strokes the crest of Yuuji’s shoulder blades — just once, but distinct and real, enough to make Yuuji buckle and raise his own arms to clutch Gojo-sensei in return. “You must be tired, hm? Well, leave it to me. I’ve been sitting on my ass for — negative twelve years, it sounds like — so it’s about time I started pulling my weight again.” Gojo-sensei’s head shifts until Yuuji feels a cheek against his temple. It soon pulls back, but when the man speaks again, there’s a gentleness and thoughtfulness in it that Yuuji always forgets he’s capable of. “You should enjoy your youth, Yuuji. You’ve earned a break. Let me shoulder this one for a while. Okay?”
Yuuji squeezes him and says, “Okay.”
I rewatched Inside Job and I had forgotten how much the ending shatters your soul. It’s so painful and I hate that it got cancelled.
[SPOILERS FOR S2 AHEAD]
Reagan deserved to be with Ron, yet she knew he would never be fully happy with her. She was quite literally bred since childhood to be Cognito Inc.’s boss. She quite literally cannot focus on anything, because despite how unhappy she is with her life and her job, she simply cannot let go. And she knew that, and she knew that Ron deserved so much better than her.
And what’s the ultimate act of love if not to set him free from her toxic behavior?
I firmly believe that, originally, Liu Kang had expected that the champion would be Kenshi. Now, don’t get him wrong. Any champion would be fine by him, he trusts them all and loves them all. And it would’ve made sense that Kenshi would be the one to win, as he was the one with the most experience out of the four champions.
But when Kenshi was defeated, it took him by surprise that this man, Kenshi, who escaped the yakuza. Who was more skilled in fighting terms, that had more experience, had lost.
That put Liu Kang slightly on edge. Because it meant that his champion would be either Johnny, Raiden or Kung Lao. When Johnny lost, his nerves weren’t appealed. But when Kung Lao lost, it felt like he could breath again.
His brain making him remember when his friend had died on his timeline. He trusts Kung Lao, he trusts him as a person and he trusts his strength. But he’s still grateful that it wouldn’t be Kung Lao the one to face Shao Ka—General Shao.
Even if this new tournament, that he himself organized, didn’t required for anyone to die, like in his timeline, Liu Kang—despite all the eons that had passed— still had it fresh in his skull when his friend died. The celebrations that the public had made when Kung Lao’s inert, cold, dead body hit the arena. The way his eyes were wide open, staring at nothing, and how the bone of the neck was slightly peeking out through the skin.
Liu Kang doesn’t think he will ever forget any of it.
a/n: I’ve decided that, instead of simply putting my thoughts and headcanons and ideas as simple and quick drafts, to just instead start actually writing it all.
summary: Kuai Liang’s (Sub-Zero) last thoughts about Hanzo during the timeline resetting.
warnings: hurt/no comfort (?), canon character death, probably not properly tagged, angst. not necessarily written as couple, could be considered as platonic and viceversa.

It was all happening so fast. The world, disappearing around them. The trees, the sky, everything, all turning into nothing in mere seconds. Had Kronika won? For the Elder Gods, he begged not.
Maybe Liu Kang had won? Maybe he was now restarting everything with the Hourglass. Restart everything. All back to zero. Would he remember his life? Would he remember his family? His parents, his brothers, his friends and the people important for him. Would Kuai Liang be able to remember any of them? Probably not. But if he didn’t remember anything or anyone, what about…
Hanzo.
It felt weird. Knowing he would probably not remember him. That didn’t seemed all that fair, did it? After all their years of rivalry, of hatred. It took them more than 10 years to finally feel comfortable by each other’s side, to be able for Hanzo to let go of his rage. To manage it in a healthier way. And now, all of that effort would end up in the trash. Like garbage. It suddenly all felt useless. All that effort spent in helping each other and themselves, it would now all be thrown away.
And it made him feel indignation. On Hanzo’s behalf. On Bi-Han’s behalf.
This just wasn’t fair. Why couldn’t they all just have normal, peaceful lives? When had it all went to shit? Kuai Liang felt like a petulant child throwing a tantrum because he didn’t got the toy he wanted. But it still didn’t felt fair. Why couldn’t they just have peaceful, calm lives?
Bi-Han didn’t deserve to get blamed and murdered for crimes he didn’t commit. Hanzo didn’t deserve to have his family murdered, get tricked by that sorcerer and have his rage be misguided for years. Didn’t they deserve a happy ending too? When did things get so complicated?
‘I wonder what you would think, Hanzo. Would you be angry too, if you were still here?’
Maybe, in this new timeline, things will be better. Maybe Bi-Han won’t suffer for something he didn’t do. Maybe Smoke won’t die this time. Maybe Hanzo…
Or maybe they wouldn’t even know each other this time. Or maybe this whole train of thoughts was useless after all.
Do you think that Liu Kang made everyone 100 times hotter than in his original timeline, that he banned all ugliness in his creation because he had been through so much that he deserved beauty in his timeline?
Mk1 incorrect quotes pt. 6:

Wait, then what does it mean to “rotate” them? I mean, I know what rotate means, but how do you rotate a character? What even is rotating a character?!
I love this fanfic so much that I made some drawings about my favorite scene from the first chapter, interpreting the scene my way
I recommend it!
The name of the fanfic is:
the heroine is annoying, but she dies spectacularly at the end

Enserio amé este fanfic, esta en inglés pero su trama es muy interesante, hice unos dibujos de la escena que más me emociono del primer capítulo. Lo recomiendo totalmente! No está completo pero vale la pena esperar cada capítulo ^•^
chat is this real
Tiktok has pissed me off,
MK is not a minor.
If your only legitimate argument about plumsynoodles or Peachynoodles is the power dynamic than I’m sorry to say then any fucking ship with Sun Wukong needs to be highly criticised because he is an over thousand year old God who heaven itself fears as equals. Anything with that monkey is a complete power imbalance.
Macaque and Sun themselves would have an unhealthy power dynamic as a ship because there’s cannon evidence that Monkey King has both physically and mentally dominated and beaten Macaque, if not to death then severely enough to cause flash backs and hallucinations in combat. Monkey King by your logic should have no healthy happy ship because he fundamentally outpowers anyone especially mortal in every fucking sense of the word.
Macaque literally worked with the being who caused the most harming fear in SWK and your gonna act like their just happily gonna cuddle after they’ve screamed each other to sleep?
The imbalance of power between Sun Wukong and any character is literally what separates him from everyone else, and it’s MK’s ignoring and uncaring of that power that’s allowed him to talk to and reach both SWK and Macaque on emotional levels
The power dynamic is a weak defence when everyone fucking recognises it and makes it a factor in a lot of relational focus I’ve seen from MK x SWK content
“Sure all the subtext and cannon evidence leads me to understand mk isn’t a minor but I’m gonna ignore that to push my opinion” If your going to pick and chose what to ignore so can everyone else
