mmmmmmmmmmmmm DAYUM YES
— Death Parade icons!
If someone has something, either an object or an attribute, that your character covets, they may show signs of envy. You can show envy through associated emotions and your characters' behaviours and expressions.
Compare themselves to others
A dismissive attitude
Downplay the achievements of others
Frustration or disbelief at others’ success
Show signs of longing or desire
Show grudging admiration
Exhibit copycat behaviour
Show signs of low self-esteem
Be excessively competitive
Mock and belittle the person they envy
Be overly critical
Be passive aggressive
Be insincerely complimentary
Use sarcasm when talking about the achievements of others
Be obsessive or hyperfocused
Use manipulation to get what they want
Forget about personal boundaries
Rude or short in conversation
Closed off and arms crossed
Frequently roll their eyes
Avoid direct eye contact
Tensed muscles
Biting lips or pouting
Disapproving facial expression
Red cheeks through anger or embarrassment
Leaning closer to the object of their desire
False smiles
Genuine joy when they’re in the presence of what they desire
Envious characters can become motivated to improve themselves to make them worthy of what they desire. If their envy becomes uncontrollable, they may also find personal growth in removing themselves from the situation and finding a new direction in life. It also allows characters the chance to develop empathy toward the person whom they envy or who possesses something that they covet, letting them finally appreciate what they already have.
Long-term envy can lead to lots of negative emotions like resentment, anger, and low self-esteem. This will affect relationships with those around them, leading them to break down or require conflict resolution in order to overcome.

He is clown. He is bastard. He is a suspicious and shady type. He is demon. I know that as a demon, he could kill me without a moment's hesitation…
But I still love this clown-demon!

Exploring good traits gone bad in a novel can add depth and complexity to your characters. Here are a few examples of good traits that can take a negative turn:
1. Empathy turning into manipulation: A character with a strong sense of empathy may use it to manipulate others' emotions and gain an advantage.
2. Confidence becoming arrogance: Excessive confidence can lead to arrogance, where a character belittles others and dismisses their opinions.
3. Ambition turning into obsession: A character's ambition can transform into an unhealthy obsession, causing them to prioritize success at any cost, including sacrificing relationships and moral values.
4. Loyalty becoming blind devotion: Initially loyal, a character may become blindly devoted to a cause or person, disregarding their own well-being and critical thinking.
5. Courage turning into recklessness: A character's courage can morph into reckless behavior, endangering themselves and others due to an overestimation of their abilities.
6. Determination becoming stubbornness: Excessive determination can lead to stubbornness, where a character refuses to consider alternative perspectives or change their course of action, even when it's detrimental.
7. Optimism becoming naivety: Unwavering optimism can transform into naivety, causing a character to overlook dangers or be easily deceived.
8. Protectiveness turning into possessiveness: A character's protective nature can evolve into possessiveness, where they become overly controlling and jealous in relationships.
9. Altruism becoming self-neglect: A character's selflessness may lead to neglecting their own needs and well-being, to the point of self-sacrifice and burnout.
10. Honesty becoming brutal bluntness: A character's commitment to honesty can turn into brutal bluntness, hurting others with harsh and tactless remarks.
These examples demonstrate how even admirable traits can have negative consequences when taken to extremes or used improperly. By exploring the complexities of these traits, you can create compelling and multi-dimensional characters in your novel.
Happy writing!
Yandere Short Stories:
Hell Fire
Yandere Priest x Herbalist Fem Reader
TW: abuse of power, yandere behavior, manipulation, and forced relationship
Pale hands affectionately cupped the soft cheeks of the sleeping maiden that rested on the bed in the dungeon. A bright smile on the young priest’s face as his fingers traced over her soft lips.
“You are finally here…” Aurel voice was as soft as a breeze. His blue eyes gentle and his lips pursed in thought. “You’re finally within my grasp.”
Aurel glanced around to make sure there were no other eyes watching before he crawled into the small bed beside (your name). His lanky arms wrapped around her vulnerable form in a vice like grip. Aurel buried his nose into her hair and deeply inhaled her sweet scent, a moan escaped his lips from how delectable (your name) smelled.
“I wonder if you’ll be happy to see me once you wake up.” Aurel thought aloud as his hands wandered her sleeping form. “We used to be so close when we were kids… we can get married just like we always wanted.”
Aurel brushed a few of his silver strands away from his blue eyes. His cheeks heated up at how beautiful (your name) had grown to be. “I’ve crawled my way to become a Cardinal, but I’m willing to bend the rules for you… so you just have to accept me.”
Aurel buried his face into her shoulders while he clutched her closer to his chest. His tongue clicked when he felt his she thinned out a bit. These heathens haven’t been feeding (your name) properly, have they? He’d punish them once he married her…
Aurel pressed a few stray kisses to her shoulders before he smiled to himself. He had destroyed her reputation as an herbalist by spreading rumors of her being a witch. It was a desperate and cowardly method, but she refused to be with him. What other choice did Aurel have? (Your name) had forced his hand for the last time and now she had the biggest choice to make.
Become his wife or burn at the pyre.
“Who are you then? I am part of that power which eternally wills evil and eternally works good.”
He is the demon who made a bet with God about Job - if now most of his bets are for his pure entertainment and aren't intended to harm others, then he could be called a 100% demon. Heartless, sly (as if he wasn't now) and, most importantly, he hated humans, considering them as inferior beings. His attacks were extremely intense and cruel in order to quickly win the bet. He believed that if everything he had was taken away from him at one moment, Job would quickly turn away from God. As we all know, he miscalculated, and this was probably the seed of his later change of opinion about people and their nature. Although he did not change his opinion that people seek pleasure, most often in simple things (such as sex or money), but he does not see it as something negative.
Despite everything, he likes Arthur very much and likes to tease him when they meet. Mephisto always asks him when he'll find a wife and if he liked his latest gift (usually dakikamuras with half-dressed anime girls that Arthur throws away after receiving them). Arthur doesn't share this sympathy and always tries to see him as little as possible. It's hard to make him hate someone. You have to do a lot of things… You have to be like Lucifer to Mephisto hate you.
He ranked his siblings from his favourite to his least favourite. It was really hard for him to choose his favourite, but in the end he placed it in first place… I won't tell you! Guess which of his sibling he likes the most! ^^ Do I need to tell you that Lucifer comes last place in this ranking?
He owns several entertainment companies, and these are his favourite companies that he doesn't skimp on with his money. He often visits these companies and checks on how the work on the various series is going, he is also a first viewer and reviewer. Furthermore, he tried to be a scriptwriter himself, but in the end it was considered completely unsuitable for him and he gave it up. What's more, he also tried to buy a conglomerate which created his favourite (at the time at least) anime series, but was fortunately dissuaded.
Would it surprise anyone that he's had so many partners (both women and men) over the long years that he can't even remember how many? If you asked him how many partners he's had, he'd think about it for a good few hours (a good way to shut him up for a while, by the way). Nowadays, he didn't have that many of them. Anime girls are enough for him. ^^
While we're in the topic of anime girls, his list of favourites is as long as the distance from here to Mars. And even the distance to Mars will be shorter.
He has been banned from the kitchen IN HIS OWN residence for life after he managed to burn the water (no joke, it's unknown how he did that) and almost burned down the entire property. Belial has been keeping him out of that room ever since.
