I am currently working on a little something which I'm not sure if I'll manage to make something out of it but I'm motivated to continue.
I wanted to maybe make a one-paged small teensy tiny comic about one of my OCs. Currently, I am still working on their designs and hopefully I'll get something done this time, but I'm confident ๐
PS: I am also currently amazed by animation again. I'll keep training a little and then I can share something with you.
(I am also trying to post more often, but let's see how that'll turn out ๐)
I wanted to draw one of my OCs, now I have drawn Dust Sans.
Rendering that was quite fun ๐
Also, here the version without text:
Just wondering who he might be facing...
Dust Sans belongs to @ask-dusttale
Hiii, it's been a long time. A lot going on in real life currently.
I found myself something new to be obsessed with and I am also slowly changing to original art supplies. IDK why, but it's currently more fun to draw on paper than on my tablet.
I doubt that I'll ever start posting frequently.
A little WIP:
And here also the reference, if you want to see:
Sooo, I am doing a short animation again ... (at least I'm trying) and currently I hit a roadblock.
I can't decide if I want sunset or night. What do you think? I'm open for suggestions.
I'm going like for a mixture of sad and hopelessness which turns into hopefulness in the end.
btw, please ignore that these characters look unfinished because they are XD
and here the song on Spotify:
And here I am, not able to animate the first scene of my animation properly.
Also, I think this took overhand. I wanted to start small to get used to animating but it snowballed into a too huge project. And I also feel my perfectionism taking over again.
I think, it's best if I put what I have into my drafts and come back to it at a later moment. I need to find something small I can train with and not a two minute project.
I can also achieve parts of my goal by training them without the animation part. Like, the goal for this project was to get familiar with post-production. But I can also try to achieve that with pictures. A little bit easier for now.
Or maybe a short animation of ONE scene. No cuts. Well, this would be a single cut, but I hope you know what I mean.
I was trying the Loomis method for heads after seeing the first 10 minutes of this video and I finally figured out how to draw 3/4 faces appropriately ๐
Use a sphere, chop the sides off and draw 90ยฐ guidelines onto the sides. These guidelines determine the way a character is facing.
The bg was a pain in the butt but in the end i love it ๐ญ
Rules:
- you can change the perspective however you want as long as it resembles the original
- most importantly; HAVE FUN, FOLKS !
- use the tag #xnzliandtiys so i can see it, or just tag me!
I forgot what other rules i usually put in my dtiys but just ask me if you're not sure about something :)
Dream and Nightmare belong to Jokublog
Good news, now I'm at 2 min.
Bad news, I don't know how to continue.
Well, here I am again, telling myself to start small and then wanting to whip out a 3 min animation.
but I don't know who. I need to train expressions and wanted to do the "25 Essential Expressions" challenge but I don't know who to draw. So I thought: Hey, this could be a cool idea to let somebody else decide!
Sooo, that's what I'll try:
Looking back, I stressed myself out too much in the beginning of ArtFight. One full rendered drawing a day is much. It worked for the first couple days, as you can see, but overall I lost motivation. If I ad spend some more time on these, they would have been even better.
Or it's just me being a perfectionist again. Whatever. I had fun and that's what matters.
I just read "School Bus Graveyard" and I adore the artstyle. They really comitted to using the default round brush for the characters. And those hands are goddamn adorable.
Then decided to draw Aiden and Ashlyn from screencaps.
Edit: here the link to the webtoon if your interested to read it yourself.
