And here I am, not able to animate the first scene of my animation properly.
Also, I think this took overhand. I wanted to start small to get used to animating but it snowballed into a too huge project. And I also feel my perfectionism taking over again.
I think, it's best if I put what I have into my drafts and come back to it at a later moment. I need to find something small I can train with and not a two minute project.
I can also achieve parts of my goal by training them without the animation part. Like, the goal for this project was to get familiar with post-production. But I can also try to achieve that with pictures. A little bit easier for now.
Or maybe a short animation of ONE scene. No cuts. Well, this would be a single cut, but I hope you know what I mean.
I am currently working on a little something which I'm not sure if I'll manage to make something out of it but I'm motivated to continue.
I wanted to maybe make a one-paged small teensy tiny comic about one of my OCs. Currently, I am still working on their designs and hopefully I'll get something done this time, but I'm confident ๐
PS: I am also currently amazed by animation again. I'll keep training a little and then I can share something with you.
(I am also trying to post more often, but let's see how that'll turn out ๐)
I've realized that I didn't post anything from my sketchbook yet ๐
I just drew a nice picture of one of my main characters Toby:
Pretty proud on that one ๐ I also put a sticker-like outline around him and it looks cool ๐
Should I post more of the sketches I did? I'll think about that later. Guess I am thrilled again to draw after taking a couple of days break ๐คฉ
(I've been playing Sea of Stars lately and that game is sooo good ๐)
And I already made a second one, with my second main character Clyde:
I was drawing a lot in my sketchbook lately and I came up with this place. Something in between of nothing. That's why I called this the "In-Between"
(I am also working on a concept for the character in the middle, but I first need to figure out how he looks. AND I also want to get a little away from my Undertale content, since I failed AGAIN to transfer my idea in a format I would accept, I do what I can do best: start over.)
I really love how peaceful and silent this place seems. I imagine this place to be a sub-dimension in between worlds. Kind of a connecting point for those who are aware. For that, it doesn't need to have much. I decided anyways to give this dimension a guardian and him a little place to be with a little company. (Birds are cute ๐)
I was sketching a bit and ended up with Cross! (I kind of don't like it entirely, but once drawn on paper there's no undo button ๐, and yeah, I was too lazy to draw hands or even consider coloring it)
Then I was thinking like, hmmm that pose sure seems familiar...
Suddenly I remembered something else I made (and didn't post here yet, whoops):
I know making that animation was PAIN. After I finished, I wanted to move it into the middle of the picture but I was only able to move it frame by frame... After I realized it, it was too late and I tried to save it but in the end that turned out quite well (especially for my first character animation)
Also: It's each time a surprise how much an art style can change. My skellie boys all just got quite taller (and I did the sketch above because I haven't drawn a sans in such a long time, that I was afraid that I unlearned how to. But it's like riding a bike ๐)
Cross belongs to @jakei95
Trying to figure out my style and lately finally managed to play through Tears of the Kingdom, so I wanted to draw Zelda๐
I tried to animate again and I found a pretty decent way to organize my work folder ๐ (it still kind of ended in chaos but I'm really looking forward to animating even more stuff ๐ I want to become good ๐คฉ)
Some time ago (It was only a couple of weeks, beginning of July) I played around a little with game developing. (Well yes. I am doing a lot because I cannot decide what I like the most.)
I just copied a player script from the Godot website and tried that a little. Then I copy pasted some Luigi-textures to represent the character sprites and it felt fun.
Next step, I wanted to make my own textures for a character but had no idea where really to start, so I started making the basic skeleton model in pixel art. (currently just 4-directional but I'll bother to add the other directions later. And I currently have no animations, just the model facing all 4 sides.)
Currently, I am trying to make a character sheet for one of my OCs from my story "In-Between" and of course, I'm struggling with that for unexplainable reasons. (as always)
BUT I just opened up a music video with a pixel-art-thumbnail and I was like, some time ago, I did something like that, didn't I? So, I went back to my old files and opened up my template and started causually painting out my character and OH BOY, THAT LOOKS GOOD AND I HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED SHADING YET!
And yeah, I didn't do the face yet XD
And here the old concept I based it on. I think I just changed the hair.
And some more information about him:
That's Blake, Guardian of Time. He can manipulate how time works for certain objects or living beings. Also, he can time travel but he's being careful with his powers since he's trying to avoid creating paradox timelines.
I wanted to write something more about his duty, but figured I have no idea why he needs to guard the time. I was just like, someone needs to make sure that we have no spacial interference between worlds. Why not add timelines to the mix? Blake was born.
That piece is pain. I traced the sketch on a separate layer and started with the lineart but I messed up the eyes. I tried to fix it but now it's smudged. Now I can start over again tracing my sketch.
I think this time, I won't trace the eyes and just try to get the expression I want.
Okay I made a sick sketch
It's tiny (like on the corner of my sketchbook) but I saw that pose and I was thinking like, okay this is EXACTLY how it looks when he uses his quirk so I scribbled down the pose and then drew him.
I want to make that in big. With markers. And maybe even make a background. And hang it on the wall to Kirishima and Denki.
And I was also thinking of something funny. The way he would describe how he fights with his quirk:
I can use my quirk as a weapon. Just think of it ... like a table. A table isn't dangerous, right? Then you accidentally drop something beneath it, try to pick it up and while getting back up you hit your head against the table. Although, it's just a table, it still hurts, right?
(I'm not sure if I'll allow him to reshape his forcefields but if I do, he would add:
Now imagine the table being a spikey pyramid...)
Next artfight attack!
This time it's Koda Milimus by PsuedoVillainz @secretgaygenttomura
Was fun to draw ๐
