I used to love sketching Ed making silly faces, but it’s been a while.

When you draw a certain character a lot, you tend to eventually be able to sketch them up without reference. Such was the case with Edward once upon a time. Unfortunately, I haven’t remembered to draw him as much anymore.

Hii I saw you in the FMA community, wanted to ask if you'd like to draw Wrath from FMA 03 (or CoS, up to you)? (No pressure ofc, just me being silly here :) )

Well, I tried. He’s a tricky one to draw, but I gotta admit he’s kinda cute. I never watched the 03 anime (I only read the manga), so I’m assuming there’s a reason he looks so much like Ed.

Something that will help a lot is practicing drawing one part of a horse. Starting with simple head studies is a good example and may help to build confidence. By breaking a horses body down into shapes, it becomes easier to understand and ‘copy’ the shapes and lines.

One thing I get used to get stuck on all the time was added too much detail. Now, I only draw what is most prominent for a horse, ignoring all those tiny, unnecessary details.

Drawing in the manga-like style is about simplicity to a point. It is not called realism for a reason! (˵ ¬ᴗ¬˵) The goal is to be able to draw the same character over and over again efficiently and with less stress to the artist. The same can be said for drawing horses, in a way.

So, uh, I can explain…

I SUCK at drawing characters crying, so I’m hoping you’ll accept this really crappy character sketch of Hare instead!

(Btw I have not watched Earthsea yet but it’s on the list. I just know who Hare is because I watched Nausicaa and he looks a lot like Kurotowa.)

I would also suggest allowing people to comment on your posts as I was unable to tell you how talented your sketches are. If you keep at it, and your art will know no limits. And I, for one, envy that. There is only so much I can do with 3D.

I checked my reply settings and found that they were set to ‘only people you follow can reply.’ I have now fixed this ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ ) I believe it may have been the default setting, as I haven’t had much thought into messing around with this stuff. I am still very new to Tumblr.

I kept seeing chart things like this and decided to try it myself. Honestly, it was really tempting to put Akutagawa on all of them…

As you requested, I did manage to draw a really simple looking Sidon.

I also decided that I do NOT like drawing fish people! (Or Zoras, or whatever you call them…) But, I do believe that if you want to become a better artist, you should at least try to draw unfamiliar things. ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧

I do have quite a few favourite characters, however, I tried drawing them today and my art was… well, it wasn’t arting properly lol

Instead, I sketched up this super sloppy looking thing using a photo from the Switch. (It’s supposed to be Link with a horse btw)
