AO3 Was scraped for generative AI

Perhaps this is already common knowledge on this app, but I have yet to see anything about it in my feed. If you are unaware, an AI tech company called HuggingFace recently had a user by the name of nyuuzyou scrape our beloved AO3.

This scrape included over 63 MILLION fanfics written by the hard working, passionate, and incredible people of every fandom. The scrape was conducted with the intent of using the data to generate AI fanfiction and fiction. If you have a fanfic on AO3 that has an ID between 1-63 200 000, and is publicly accessible (not restricted to registered users), then your work was scraped and used in the process.

AO3 admins are currently searching for solutions and some kind of retributions. Until then, make sure to limit your works to registered users and show the real writers that you value their time and contribution to fandom.

There is one random thought that just hasn’t left my mind since we discovered that Kit still dreams about Ty.

The last scene that Kit narrates in QoAaD where he is looking down at Ty and he says how he was away from all the noise, and the he said he hated himself in that moment because he wanted to go down there and protect Ty from all the noise. And I KNOW I just KNOW that he’s had at least ONE dream in which he went against his better judgement and instead of leaving with Jem and Tessa, he went down there with Ty.

It’s probably too spoilery, and probably too early, for much of anything, but I’m really fascinated with how you’ve incorporated the Princes of Hell into the TSC world, as well as the other dimensions. Hmmm. I don't think I can say specifically, but I can say that TWP is something of a return to the biblical/demonic mythos of The Mortal Instruments. A lot of what happens turns on various pieces of biblical mythology (since we're dealing with Lucifer!) and references to Paradise Lost/Dante.

random thought I had the other day but never shared but. Ty lowkey parallels King David. I was thinking about QOAAD & the Battle on the Imperishable Fields, and how it's kinda weird Ty is mentioned multiple times to be using slingshot because that's not a typical shadowhunter weapon we see. then it occurred to me that literally a battle where giants show up and Ty helps "slay" them so to speak. like David & Goliath, which is also previously mentioned in QOAAD by Emma

where Julian's words are equated to David's stones. and by the way, David is said to have five stone and who's the fifth Blackthorn to try & speak to Julian & Emma? Ty. and this is what happens when he does.

not only that but King David of David & Goliath fame is also the David of (biblical) David & Jonathan fame, which the parabatai law draws inspiration from. aka the thing actively going wrong at that very moment. Biblical Jonathan also dies btw. and you wanna know what the icing on the the cake is? David's dad's name is Jesse.

theres no way this isn't a purposeful reference but I have no idea if it's like. just CC having fun or something that had Implications. food for thought.

Scarred Ty

Dont read if u havent read THE DARK ARTIFICES

I was talking witrh a friend about how Thule is amirror fom the other dimension but with cracks. Every crack is a line that went diferently of how it was supossed to be.

If its a mirror, we can suppose that the storytale should be the same unles the cracks got u. But the story still goes around you. I will explain myself.

In Thule, Emma and Julian were turned Endarkened, yes, but they were still together dating.

Tessa couldnt disappeared and Church stayed with her, still together.

Thule-Sebastian still wanted Clray, and the same goes with Janus, his priorities were getting Clary in the other dimension, even if it was not hers.

This littlle things meant that even with the cracks, the story might change in some parts but it remains in path. With the same thoughts in mind.

So this make me think about Scarred-Ty. In our dimension, Ty tryed resurrected Livvy, and he only got a ghost. It wouldnt be far from true to believe than in Thule, Livvy tried to resurrect Ty, since he was the one dying.

So, I see two ways how this could have gone:

1st option) Livvy tried resurrecting him, but since magic had abondoned that world, the resurrection did not happened UNTIL Sebatian died and they started to rebuitl society and bla bla bla and the magic and all shit came again. Thats when the resurrection came in place.

2nd option) In our dimension, Kit was with Ty, maybe in Thule Kit was around living and had embraced his fairy (or being kidnapped) part since the fairies were really powerfull and without knowing him he resurrected him for other purposases or just even doing something that switched on the rise of Evil Ty. I just think should be somehow related.

That Scars that Ty manifest could be by the monsters he tried to fight against or the Cracks of that mirror pushing upon himself to the outside, the evil fuming out.

And lets not forget that even when a buried body does not grow up, it does change and decompose, it loses humanity. So if it were in place a resurrection, maybe Ty could have kept changing, getting older, frozen in a limbo that other would call Death and other would compare to the situation of "Annabel Lee". Remember? She was kind of resurrected but frozen and could know everything around him. And I know that she didnt grew up, but hey guys Im trying here to give a litle reasoning aboput why would have Ty keept growing. Leave me alone.

Anyways, that Ty could have been frozen as Anabel was until the only oppotunity to rise again. She got crazy, he got evil.

Im just saying that if Thule its a cracked mirror, it could be very possible that one of that cracks reflected the same storyline inverted.

In relation to that, maybe ty reviving (reghosting?? re-kinda-viving?) livvy opened up a way for lucifer to enter their world, or possess ty? maybe it left him 'unprotected', maybe it made a tear in the divide between worlds, smth like that (based on this)

Too many serious ones, time for some sillies: clace and/or sizzy wedding (this ones more 'light-hearted' than 'silly', but eh)

being a fan of a normal author who is not Cassandra Clare must be so boring. like you follow their insta where they post the singular commission of their main characters they made as promo for a book that comes out in a month. you hear down the grapevine that they teased a new book at an event so you know to look out for it to preorder. after finishing a trilogy you hope that maybe they will write a short story follow up or have them briefly appear in a future spin off. and then you move on with your life and pick up the next book. it's like a different world.
