in martyn's lore stream, he decided that the watchers can "project" their vision onto the players, creating mirages, i.e. when martyn had those pumpkin version of the southlanders in last life. martyn was fully seeing his friends, and that it was imposed onto him by the watchers

what i'm thinking about is this in connection with the shadow people that scar sees back in his secret life lore. these figures are mirages of all the people he knows. maybe he can speak to them; maybe they speak back. regardless, though, we know the shadow people bring scar comfort in his lonely little world. they help keep him sane when they come around, even if it isn't often.

and what watcher do we know who might want to use his powers to bring scar even the smallest bit of comfort? what watcher do we know who might want to use his powers for good, in juxtaposition to the other watchers using this very power to torture martyn so many seasons ago?

Ody chases after him, but when he gets to the water’s edge it quickly recedes around him to the point where it’s obvious it’s avoiding him. & to be funny, Telemachus jokes “I think Poseidon’s afraid of you, father”

& without missing a beat, he goes “he doesn’t have to be. I’m home now” & now Telemachus is like 👀👀👀 cause what the hell is THAT supposed to mean

Odysseus just smirks & cups his hands around his mouth & yells something like “I promise I won’t stab you again!” What? He can show off & brag to his son

& then a huge wave crashes straight into Ody & knocks him flat on his ass

I want to point out how the final fight in Epic is not in song 38 but song 40.

How after Odysseus became "the monster" he then, was the last boss to fight

And Penelope fights him.

Because she fights for her husband, for the man beyond the trauma, for the man WITH the trauma, for the man she will always love and will wait forever if necessary.

She makes him angry, he gets furious and Penelope is the only character so far who matches that fury and tames it.

And Penelope wins.

She defeats the "monster".

And all it's left... it's just a man. Her man.

scar headcanon i can't put into a fic but is still Important To Me:

After getting taken out of secret life by Grian/ after Grian practically tells him the wildcard for the random spawning session, Scar knows that Grian's a watcher.

Scar returns to the sunflower field because it's safe, and it's home. Grian made the sunflower field for him so that he couldn't Stop Existing- he's still bound to protect him, and has been ever since 3rd life.

Which means that Scar doesn't feel afraid, or alone, stuck in secret life. Because he knows Grian's Watching him. And he makes little offerings to Grian and grows sunflowers for him and tells him how his day's been. And Grian can't really respond, per se, but the sun shines brighter some days and the wind whistles through the trees in a way that almost sounds like words...

Scar’s title and phrasing don’t even phase me, it’s just Scar being Scar, let him use words however he wants, he deserves it!!! Grian, on the other hand, can not get away with calling Scar a passenger princess (multiple times!!)

my favourite thing about "who got married in 3rd life?" question, is that basically all players are uncertain whether scott and jimmy count, but everyone (including ren lol) is very quick to suggest that it might have been ren and martyn. because who knows what kinds of weird role play they had gotten to in 3rd life really.
