"50%" 18x24in oil and thread (NOT SPAGHETTI) on canvas

this piece is meant to be representative of chronic migraines, symbolized by the thread, and funky lines and textures, and a monochromatic color scheme. the title itself is a reference to the fact that, on average, i have a migraine about 50% of days. really fun stuff right? but it's important to express our frustrations someway, somehow, and my personal favorite method is by using the creative arts. im not a very outwardly expressive person, so art is where i turn to.

Old concept work abt a dream I had as a kid abt a high school orchestra violinist who survives nuclear Armageddon and wakes up centuries later in a megalopolis as a cyborg with no voicebox or ability to communicate except for a violin. She meets a detective with amnesia as they both try to figure out what happened and how they ended up where they are through a suffering city.

Something like this would be so colossally helpful. I'm sick and tired of trying to research specific clothing from any given culture and being met with either racist stereotypical costumes worn by yt people or ai generated garbage nonsense, and trying to be hyper specific with searches yields fuck all. Like I generally just cannot trust the legitimacy of most search results at this point. It's extremely frustrating. If there are good resources for this then they're buried deep under all the other bullshit, and idk where to start looking.
