We Do Not "love" To Bring This Up. It Is Traumatic. It Is Dysphoria Inducing. It Is Capable Of Taking

we do not "love" to bring this up. it is traumatic. it is dysphoria inducing. it is capable of taking the lives of trans men/mascs that are forced to bring a child into this world against their will. stop fucking invalidating our trauma and oppression you absolute fucking transphobic asshole.

no one is fucking saying this is a privilege for trans women/fems. you are making up arguments in your head because you cannot handle the fact that you are being so disgustingly transphobic toward us so you have to pretend we are saying shit that was never said.

i will not be fucking silent about this. no trans men/mascs should be forced into silence when bringing up our very real systemic oppression. if it bothers you, then look inward.

I genuinely don't think the trans/queer community at large has separated itself from the transphobic idea that everything trans men do is embarrassing and cringe, and it rlly shows in the way some of you talk abt your questioning of your gender back in 2020, as well as artists and people associated with teenage/young transman/masc culture, and it's rlly disappointing to see, esp since it's so common in the transmasc community itself

“Trans men want to infiltrate women’s spaces”

Actually, no I really don’t. It’s actually super fucking unpleasant for me to have to enter spaces that are explicitly designated as being for “women”. Unfortunately, because even a lot of progressives refuse to recognize my existence, I as a person with a vagina, uterus and ovaries have no choice but to enter these spaces because they’re the only ones offering what I need. But let me assure you of this: I don’t enjoy being in “women’s spaces”. It’s honestly quite alienating and dysphoria inducing, and if I didn’t absolutely have to do it, I wouldn’t.

“Queer events have a tme lean” you mean a cis lean. If you think other trans people get just as included as cis people in general queer spaces you have not spoken to enough of us. To say this in the context of trans men and transmasculine people in particular is so frustrating to me when so many queer spaces and events are given a “women and femmes” theming.

i do just want people to be aware that, while "assigned sex at birth" has been widely reclaimed and generalized to general populations, it did not start through personal identification or as a positive term. it was coined between doctors to discuss what sex to surgically and socially assign intersex infants, children, and in some cases, adults. one example of a study using this term is here, mostly inspired by john money [its a heavy read if you decide to open it]. i do just want people to be aware of the history of this term before claiming that it is "coined by the intersex community"—it wasnt, it was forced on us by the medical community.

Was doing some light reading, and came across this paper that reminded me of discourse from a few weeks back.

Anyone remember when that post was floating around about how "theyfab" was actually invented by transfems to make fun of trans men/enbies who use their AGAB as a shield to protect themselves against criticism? Basically leveraging "oh I'm just a female, I'm so innocent", strawman bullshit?

Then others chimed in about how it actually came from 4chan as a way to mock enbies who aren't "trans enough"?

Well, here's an actual academic source on the issue, to shove a knife in this whole argument, as I'm sure it'll pop up again:

Sure looks like the "transandrobros" were right once again

Straight from an actual academic paper

"Theyfab" is infact 4chan lingo made to shit on people "not doing trans right" and isn't some transfem counter culture buzzword like some people claim it to be

I really wish I could talk transfeminism to people in real life but I start saying stuff like "Men oppress women" really is too simplistic, and wrong. and, The patriarchy oppresses both men and women, and Cis men are rewarded for upholding It via misogyny, but Individual men aren't the patriarchy. people start looking at me funny

People Like To Talk About How Bad Toxic Masculinity Is Until They Hear Transmasculine People Talking

people like to talk about how bad toxic masculinity is until they hear transmasculine people talking about their experience and suddenly it turns into "stop whining, you are A MAN"

It’s funny to me that people use “TMRA” as a negative descriptor. Like I get it, they're comparing an oppressed group of people to MRAs, cause they're fucking clowns.

But it goes to show they think any sort of advocacy that centers trans men is a bad thing. They refuse to see them as trans, just men. Pretending that the "man" part overrides the "trans" part of the identity makes them feel better about their own bullying. And if they paint anyone who defends them as a "men's rights activist", they can dismiss their concerns without ever addressing their arguments.

I advocate for the rights of TRANS men alongside the rights of trans women and nonbinary people! Because, as it turns out, ALL trans people are oppressed, and trans men aren’t the exception! I place just as much importance on their struggles as I do on my own.

What kind of person would think that’s a bad thing?

Oh, right. Transphobes.
