Rin sat cross-legged on the floor, iPad propped up against a pillow like it was a shrine. His AirPods were in, tongue slightly poking out the corner of his mouth in deep concentration.
You peeked over his shoulder.
“Are you playing Talking Ben?”
He didn’t even blink. “Ben’s giving me stock advice.”
You snorted. “You’re literally arguing with a cartoon dog.”
“He said no when I asked if you’re annoying.” Rin turned to you, deadpan. “He lies.”
“That's pity Rin.” He grumbled and closed the app and opened roblox instead, clicking on a game.
You flopped next to him, stealing one AirPod and sticking it in. The iPad immediately blasted some chaotic Roblox tycoon music.
“You made your avatar look like Sae.”
“That was on purpose,” he muttered, buying yet another speed coil. “So I can run him off the map.”
You blinked. “That’s the most emotionally charged thing you’ve ever said.”
Rin finally looked at you, lowering the volume just slightly.
“…You wanna play too?”
“Only if I get to push Sae into the lava.”
He handed you his old iPad, already logged in. “I made you an account yesterday. Your name’s ‘RinLover69.’”
You blinked. “…You’re so unserious.”
“I’m literally the most serious one in this server,” he replied, tapping furiously. “We’re raiding Sae’s base at 4.”
God help you, you were in love with this idiot.
A/n: “I'm in love with the thought of Rin being an iPad kid okay.”
I love smut and everything but where is the angst that makes me wanna cry and die at the same time
“Mdni” and they’re making a fanfic about a minor 💔💔💔(that doesn’t have a canon adult timeskip)/(they’re using material when they were a minor)

ice cream - s. itoshi
itoshi sae hated the current situation that he was in.
mud squelching underneath his boots, sae held the soccer ball in his hands carefully, only the tips of his fingers touching the mud-covered soccer ball. rin had accidentally kicked it too far away, and just as sae went to go get the ball, it started raining.
no, pouring.
at the ripe age of nine years old, sae knew very well of what he liked and disliked. he liked salted kombucha tea. he disliked interviewers and the media. he liked seagulls. he disliked people giving him expectations. he liked the end of summer. he didn’t like overly emotional people. he loved soccer. he hated school. he loved rin.
he just didn’t know how to feel about you.
you were his next door neighbor, and you were…strange? no, that wasn’t the right word. but sae didn’t know what way to describe you; you cried over small things, you ate far too unhealthy, and you talked to him a lot. but at the same time, you were kind to rin, you would use your allowance to buy sae bottles of water when he ran out during practice, and you never seemed to mind his rude nature. he would sometimes buy you ice cream to repay you for buying him water, which you always beamed at.
his heart would stutter just a little at the sight of you, his cheeks would warm just a little bit at your compliments, and his eyes would glimmer just a little at the sight of your smile.
choked sobs were the last thing that sae expected to hear in the pouring rain.
your bike next to you and your hands grasping the bike handles, warm tears rolled down your cherry colored cheeks uncontrollably. raising an eyebrow, sae decided to stay outside just a little bit longer. “what now?” sae asked, walking over to you through the puddles of water that begin to form. you began to choke out something incoherent before sae rolled his eyes, scoffing. “speak clearly. you sound like you belong in an asylum.”
“t-the ice cream! it’s gone! they don’t have it anymore! and i went to a farther store to get one, but theirs was too expensive!” you exclaimed, wiping away your tears rapidly, the rain running down your hair. sae’s head tilted to the left slightly, furrowing his eyebrows.
“the ice cream…?” he thought of the ice cream shop nearby, the one he always bought you and rin ice cream from.
“the type that you first bought me! the vanilla flavored one with the popsicle.”
oh, that one. sae didn’t get it; it was just an ice cream, what was so special about it? you could literally just buy it online or something. “you just said that another store had it.” he pointed out. “can’t you just borrow some of your parents’ money or something?”
“it was 300 yen, and i only have 210 yen on me.” you muttered. “and mama and papa are already having a hard enough time with money. i dont wanna keep on bothering them.” sae frowned; god, why couldn’t this just end quickly? it was raining so damn hard.
“it’s still just an ice cream.”
“no, it’s not!” you cried. “sae, this was the first ever ice cream you bought me, this was the ice cream i ate when my parents divorced, the was the ice cream i ate when i did bad on a test to feel better, this was the ice cream i ate when i did good on a test to celebrate, and this was the ice cream that i always buy.” you sniffed.
sae blinked. this ice cream was special to you…because this was the first ever one that he had bought you? his heart raced unbearably fast, to the point where he could hear his heart beating in his ears. his face was on fire right now despite the cold rain hitting his head and shoulders every moment, and he glanced away.
“wait here. i’ll be back soon.” sae ran back into his house, ignoring his parents’ calls of concern and rin’s desire for the soccer ball, and emptied his piggy bank.
3000 yen. that was enough for you to buy ten of them.
he ran back outside to you, and he couldn’t help the slight softness of his features when he realized that you’ve stopped crying. he shoved the money into hour hands, looking down at you. when you looked up at him as if he were some sort of saint, his face hardened, and he scowled. “this is only because your crying is annoying. and don’t go back to that farther store until the rain stops, because you’ll just get hurt and start crying to me again.”
despite his unbelievably rude words, you beamed. “thank you, sae! you’re so kind!”
sae swore that he could feel his heart exploding.
years later, sae is back from spain to renew his passport. he’s staying at his house for a while; after all, he’s always been the favorite child. he takes a walk around the neighborhood just to relive the nostalgia before he has to inevitably return to spain in a month or so. as he’s walking, his eyes eventually linger on the old ice cream store that he used to buy you and rin ice cream at.
with thinking, he slides the familiar glass door open. one popsicle with no sugar or artificial flavors won’t hurt him. as he’s scanning the freezers, his eyes zero in on one.
a certain vanilla flavored popsicle.
his eyes can’t help but soften as he remembers that day in the rain, and he picks the popsicle up, walking to the check out counter. he’s glad that it’s in stock again, although it probably took a while. at the checkout counter, he expected to see the kind old auntie who owned the store, but instead, his jaw went slack at the sight in front of him.
it’s you.
you seem just as shocked as he is, the name tag pinned on your shirt reflecting off of the store’s plastic lights. sae’s eyes widen by just a fraction; he didn’t see you during his neighborhood walk yet, but he thought that you would just be busy or something. how ironic, the fact that you’re working in the very store you once cried over.
but sae can’t help but notice. he can’t help but notice the same glimmer in your eyes. he can’t help but notice how your hair is just a little bit longer.
he can’t help but notice how beautiful you look.
“you’re back!”
a/n: could you tell that this was inspired by that one scene in better than the movies? reading that book for the first time altered my brain chemistry. also, i know that i said i have a hard time writing for sae, so im just trying this out because this prompt fits best with him.
smiling ear to ear rn😋

Warning(s): Enemies to lovers trope, mentions of burning, stabbing, blood, bad descriptions of both fire of water (ice, snow ?) bending, Zuko is whipped, just a little confused about it, reader is a baddie, water benders unite (not me tho), reader is GN but written with f!reader in mind, reader looks non-threatening, is underestimated a lot, this takes place at the end of season one, I think that's it
Pairing: Prince Zuko x GN!Reader

“You shouldn’t be here” you glare, your gaze sending shivers down his spine.
But that could just be because of all the snow and ice surrounding the both of you.
The fire prince remains unfazed though, his amber eyes sweeping over your form- assessing the threat you posed.
He could take you down in seconds.
Zuko doesn’t respond to your jab though, because he knew you were wrong. He had to be here, it was the only way he could finally receive his father’s favor- as the heir and as the son of Firelord Ozai. It was his duty, his honor.
And he wasn’t going to let a non-threatening waterbender get in the way of that.
Reaching back, he unsheathes his dual swords, the glint of the waning moonlight reflecting the dangerous glint in his eye.
And yet you didn’t back down.
Pooling some water from your waterskin, you assumed the stance you had trained yourself to take whenever you honed your skills. One with the water, one with the ice.
‘Power should flow, not force itself” Master Pakku had told you once.
People had always underestimated your skills, saying you were better suited for healing. But after showing Master Pakku how you could use your bending to control the falling snow around you, he gave you a chance.
He had told you to let the power settle in your body before releasing, instead of forcing it out immediately. Conceal and then control.
You met Zuko’s fiery gaze with an icy one of your own. You were going to protect your home.
With a yell, you form flurries of snow, whipping around your form as you channel your strength to change the form of your flurry, snow turning to water, water turning to sharp daggers of pure ice.
Zuko scowls, setting his hands ablaze and you run at each other, fire meeting ice.
Time slows down, as the intensity of your elements picks up, until all you could hear was the steady thump – thump – thump – of your heart, and the roar of crystalline knives swirling around you.
Flames lick the side of your leg, wincing as the raw burn of the fire sears through your skin in white-hot pain. Razor sharp icy shards cut into Zuko’s skin, finding chinks in his armor, piercing his flesh and drawing blood.
The snow beneath the both of you was dotted red now, both of you staring at each other, panting heavily.
“You really shouldn’t be here.” you repeat again, but this time, it was barely a whisper, swallowing down tears as the cold wind of the Northern Water Tribe stung your gaping wounds.
Zuko growls, grunting in pain as he pulls a shard of ice out of his skin.“I don’t take orders from a little waterbender” he spat, venom dripping from his words.
You reciprocate with a snide comment of your own. “This ‘little waterbender’ just sunk 5 icicles into your skin.”
Zuko was just about ready to tear your head off, hands igniting with vermillion flames before you collapse, the burns along your thigh and calf were much more severe than either of you realized.
You choke out a sob of pain but keep your control of the water left in your waterskin. You couldn’t die, not today, and not at the hands of the prince of the Fire Nation.
Zuko’s heart throbs unexpectedly, the look on your face too familiar for comfort. The face of someone who worked so desperately hard, only for all that effort to go down the drain. But he didn’t care for you. He couldn’t- couldn’t grow attachment to a non-threatening waterbender. Yet you sat there on the snow, dotted with blood, with that raw look in your eyes. His flames extinguished, without him meaning to.
You flinched as he threw his swords down frustrated, impaling themselves into the nearby snow mound, standing straight up.
He stomps over to you, and you frantically move back, but your leg flares up in pain again, and you yelp, hissing in pain.
“Stop moving, you’ll make it worse.” he says, glaring at you, but not as intensely as he had before.
You want to scream, kick him, punch him, anything, but your body betrays you as he sweeps you up into his arms, carrying you to the nearest place he can find, where he can keep you safe. You feel his strong arms hook under your knees and under your back, holding you securely to his firm chest. Even through his armor, he radiates warmth, a gentle heat, unlike the flames he threw at you merely minutes ago.
He hates this, with every fiber in my being, his voice screaming at him to drop you and burn your frail body to a crisp, vengeance for the blood dripping from his own body, but he keeps moving, step after painstaking step.
You try to stay awake, you really do, yet channeling so much energy from your battle, the numb throb in your lower leg, and the comforting heat radiating off the fire prince who refuses to look at you, you slip into unconsciousness.
Zuko feels a weight press against his chest, and he huffs, honey-colored eyes catching onto the details of your face, the curve of your nose, the apples of your cheeks, the slight pout of your lips as you nuzzle into his armor unintentionally, how pretty you were when you were at peace.
He stops himself there, reprimanding himself for thinking such things. He can’t have feelings for the enemy.
And yet, even as he and his troops head home, battle wearing and dejected from the loss of a major battle, Zuko can’t help but think about his little waterbender.

When you wake up, the kind woman tending to you tells you all about the mysterious and handsome man who carried your sleeping form across the entire Northern Water Tribe because he didn’t know where the healing center was.

found family; with sae itoshi
imagine volunteering at japan's u20 working a small job but unintentionally becoming friends with SAE ITOSHI... no, not having the usual equal respect and companionship, or expectant friends to lovers. you're the same age as his little brother, so he oddly treats you like a little sister. the weird thing? he's so nonchalant about it.
"excuse me, but they're confirming if you wanted a red or white zip up again..." twiddling with your fingers softly before pointing to your pushy bosses, you seem to be making good friends with the floor while speaking to a famous, pro-league, good-looking but mean soccer player (sae itoshi). your classmates were all practically screaming at how lucky you were to secure volunteer service in professional sports, in professional soccer. i mean, the card collecter boys in your class were practically feining, asking you for autographs and other stupid favours. maybe you could ask for a picture, yeah—you were definitely going to ask sae itoshi for a picture, but that thought was soon dispersed at the man's dismisive tone. "white is fine," the midfielder curtly replies, with a straight face and one hand planted on the side of his hip. "how old are you?" he looks down at you with the world's most unreadable gaze and ridiculously long lower lashes, "sixteen." you reply, finally facing him. "oh," sae dryly responds, that bored look in his eyes in never, "you're about the same age as my little brother."
oh!
"[name], come here." sae itoshi murmurs, laying flat on the floor in the middle of the training center, you look around the empty facility at five in the morning, confirming if he was even POSSIBLY speaking to you again. "yeah?" he tuts on the floor, lifting a muscled leg in your field of vision, "i need help stretching, pull on my leg."
your eyes scan hesitantly over the dangling cleat, before your hands lock around his ankle, attempting to pull and soothe his strange stretching, though definitely failing. why was the midfielder so heavy? he wasn't even trying to make this easier by at least slightly lifting himself. "you're bad at this, not even lukewarm." he'd say, though his tone didn't show any real frustation or intended offense. instead, cerulean eyes blow open when you pull a little too hard and hear something crack that most likely wasn't supposed to.
on other days, he'd pat your head and buy you a popsicle, two for the price of one was a better deal, anyway.
and on the day of japan's u20 verus blue lock's eleven, when RIN ITOSHI's piercing gaze catches the melting popsicle clutched in your hand and sae handing you a napkin, he freezes. his gaze softens in a way that doesn't melt away at the icy chambers of his heart, but instead softens and melts it wholly intead. that day, you were genuinely bewildered and confused that blue lock's number one gave you more dirty looks that day than any actual player on the field.
"your brother is scary," you mutter, causing the taller midfielder beside you perk up in interest. "he kept giving me death glares." sae rolls his eyes at the thought, "maybe he likes you, i dunno. he's in his rebillious phase." it truly made you, at your adolescent age, realise that sae itoshi's head was entirely hollow when not thinking about football. buuut, he buys you ice cream, so who really cares?

i. 𝐆𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐑 // 1/3 part of the animal s/o series!
𝐒𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐒𝐔𝐈 𝐊𝐘𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐊𝐔.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐘𝐎𝐔'𝐕𝐄 been married to Shunsui for years and the man absolutely adores your cat ears and tail! He thinks it’s the cutest thing he’s ever seen. He tends to have a hard time keeping his hands off your tail because it was so soft to touch and your reaction when he tugged on it was priceless.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐒𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐒𝐔𝐈 watched as your tail swayed back and forth, the man was trying his best not to pet it. He watched as you continued to snore peacefully on his chest. "Eh…they won’t notice." He spoke to himself while his hand reached for your f/c tail that was wrapped around your waist. Your silky fur making contact with his rough hands caused you to purr into his chest. Shunsui dragged his fingers down slowly until he wrapped his entire hand around the tail and gave it a light tug. After tugging on the fur your head immediately shot up along with your ears and tail as your fierce e/c eyes started to glare into his soul. "Sorry sweets, I didn’t know." He put his hands up in a surrendering manner, which caused you to hiss and use your sharp nails to rip the sleeve off his captain’s coat. "I–I said sorry!"
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐂𝐔𝐃𝐃𝐋𝐄𝐒 with him were the best! You and he would always get into trouble from the constant napping and slacking off from work. There would be times when Nanao would have to split you both up so Shunsui could get his work done. Which didn’t work but was worth a try.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 cuddling, he likes to run his hands through your hair and brush them against your ear, which causes you to let out a faint purring sound. Every time you purr, his heart never fails to swell up.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐄 goes through hell and back to cut your nails. By the time he’s done, he already has multiple scratches across his face and chest. But you make it up to him by patching the countless scratches he had. After that, you’ll nuzzle your head into his neck as he holds you; he couldn’t be angry with you even if he tried.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐄 has plenty of marks on his neck from when you bite him when you get jealous. The number of times you’ve hissed at women for staring at your husband was mind-boggling. Whenever one disappears, you add a new one, you disregard sharing, no one can have him.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 you become bored easily, he would take you out to the garden and let you play around in there until he was done with his work. After that, he’ll find you asleep in the grass with a flower in your mouth and a bird in your hand.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐒𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐒𝐔𝐈 would be lying if he said he didn’t find your behavior interesting. He thought it was cute when your knuckles kneaded into his back, he believed that you were giving him a massage but it turns out you were showing your love and contentment to him. <3 He also found it cute when you bump your head against his or rub your cheeks against his to show affection. Not to mention how you wait at the door for him to come back when he sent on tasks.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐒𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐒𝐔𝐈 sighed and made his way back to his office. "I’m so tired." He muttered as he opened the door, and without paying attention, he tripped over something—no, someone. As he rubbed his head, he looked over his shoulder to see you curled into a ball in front of the door. "Were they waiting for me?" He scratched his cheek as he crawled towards your sleeping body. His eyes soften at your sleeping state. Every time he leaves, you always take a nap to make time go by faster. "Kitty, I'm back." His hand petted your hair as you opened one of your eyes, which dilated at the sight of your husband. "Shu!" You jumped into his arms as he fell back from his sudden actions. "Were you waiting for me?" He sat up with you on his lap. You nodded your head quickly and bumped your head against his cheek affectionately, saying, "Mhmm, I didn’t know you were going to be gone for that long." Your ears flattened, and you kissed his lips. Shunsui felt an arrow strike him through the heart at your ears. "I’m sorry! I didn’t know either! I love you so much, kitty!" Crocodile tears left his eyes as he held onto you tightly, not letting go any time soon.
𝐁𝐘𝐀𝐊𝐔𝐘𝐀 𝐊𝐔𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐊𝐈.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐁𝐘𝐀𝐊𝐔𝐘𝐀 had a love and hate relationship with your cat–like behavior, made because it reminded him of someone familiar. But he loves you either way; you make him so happy that words can’t explain it.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐄 loves when you visit him during captain's duties. He couldn’t count how many times you fell asleep on his chest without him noticing. He always tried to move you, but the sound of your light purring made it hard for him.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐄 would get the best chefs to cook your favorite fish-based meals. Oh, he loved it when your eyes lit up at the sight of the delicious food the chefs made for you.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ "𝐖𝐀𝐇! I can’t believe all of this is for me!" Your eyes sparkled at the sight of the buffet. Byakyua's eyes softened when you wrapped your arms around his neck to give him multiple kisses. "The best for you only, dear." He reached his hand out to pet your f/c ears, which caused you nuzzle you cheek into his even more. "Ah! I love you Byakyua!" You grinned at your husband who chuckled silently and picked up the chopsticks for you. This was the most excited he’s ever seen you. "I love you as well."
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 man also spoils you to the point of no return. Is that what you want? He'll buy it before you know it. If anything reminds him of you then better believe he's going to buy it! When you tell him that he doesn't have to buy all the things for you, he will immediately ignore you and go to buy something else for you.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐘𝐎𝐔 and he would spend most of your nights discussing the most randomized things. Like do you prefer to be a snail or worm? (Byakyua says snail). However, some of the questions you have asked him have put him into a deep reflection.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ "𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 you rather spend the rest of your life with no legs or no arms?" "Simple, no arms." "But—" "Never-mind, I need my arms to use my sword. So no legs." "But then again…"
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐄 enjoys playing hide and seek with you! The sound of your laughter brings him happiness as he pretended not to see you hiding in plain sight.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ "𝐈 wonder where could they be?" Byakyua spoke out and began to scratch his chin. You watched as the man continued to look around the room for you as you hid under the table and held your hand over your mouth so you wouldn’t give up your hiding space. "I guess they’re in the next room? I need to take a look." He spoke again, then walked to the door. Once you heard the door open and close you slowly peeked your head from under the table, before you could make a move a hand grabbed the back of your shirt. Your husband's familiar scent caused you to sink into his grip. "Byakyua?! How did you find me?" You cried at your husband as he smiled at your behaviour. "I overheard you the moment I opened the door. It seems like you don’t have the ability to withhold your laughter." He laughed at how you were sulking, with your ears were flatting. "Not fair! Let’s play another round!"
𝐊𝐈𝐒𝐔𝐊𝐄 𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 guy is the ultimate cat lover, so imagine his reaction when he sees someone with cat ears and a tail! He couldn’t keep his hands off you even if he tried, just the sight of your f/c ears perking up and your tail swaying can make him swoon in an instant.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐄’𝐒 extremely clingy and loving once it came to you. Once he wrap his arms around you for some cuddle time it was hard for him to let go, not that you mind or anything.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ "𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 they are." Yoruichi sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose at the couple snoozing on the couch. She knew something wasn't right when you didn't show up at practice like you said. Once she found you, she found you lying on the couch with your lover. "Huh? Yoruichi! What are you doing here?" Kisuke rubbed his eyes as the brown-skinned woman tried her hardest not to punch the shit out of him. This wasn’t his first time holding you back from training because he wanted to ‘cuddle’. "I’ve come to see Y/n, only to find out they’re here. With you." She glared at him as he scratched the back of his neck.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐄 spends his free time building cardboard forts for you. The amount of time he spends on the fort is amazing, and by the time he’s done it’s the same size as a castle.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 this man was a bit of a pervert then, so he would often buy revealing clothes for his eyes solely. And when you try them on he’ll get you to do a spin, which makes him a bit aroused. The way the fabric hugged your body and the bell around your neck makes him want to pounce on you.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐀𝐒 an obsession with your thighs! When he sees you from a distance, his eyes are immediately directed at your thighs. It's one of his favorite places to put his head, and he wouldn't mind if you smothered it. As long as he died between your thighs.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐄 loves to laugh at you with the help of a laser pointer. He thinks it's the funniest thing in the world when you leap from wall to wall to grab the red dot. He also owns these feather toys so you can concentrate on him when you're not paying attention to him.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐒 you kitten constantly, there would times where he forgot your name because of the constant usage of the pet name. You’ve seemed to earn the name because you could shrink and turn into a kitten. Which causes Kisuke to carry your little body around all day in his pocket. <3 Often checks his pocket to see if you’re still in there.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ "𝐀𝐑𝐄 you okay in there, kitten?" Kisuke checked his pocket once more to see if his lover was still in there, he didn’t want to drop and lose you again. Your sharp e/c eyes opened and meowed loudly while using your paw to cover your eyes from the sunlight making its way in. "Ah, I’m sorry kitten." Kisuke chuckled at your adorable behavior you couldn’t talk in your cat form so he learned how to read your gestures and meows. Right now you were telling him to close his pocket and stop letting the sunlight in. You meowed once more as Kisuke scratched his cheek, "No need to curse now!"
𝐔𝐑𝐘𝐔 𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐃𝐀.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐔𝐑𝐘𝐔 was the sweetest when it came to you. He thought you were the most valuable thing he ever had. Just thinking of you, his heart can melt in a few seconds. Every morning, he called you so you could prepare for school on the phone. He just wanted you to shrink so he could carry you for the whole day <3.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐄 couldn't count on his fingers or his toes the many times he lost you because you went to take a nap somewhere. He remembered vividly how he panicked when he realized you weren’t by his side anymore, it felt like he lost a pair of diamond earrings in the ocean when he lost you. But with help from Ichigo, Orihime and Chad, they found you lying in a tree near his home.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ "𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐌 down Uryu! We’re going to find them." Ichigo deadpanned at the teenager who checked under every pebble in the park while mumbling curses under his breath. "Shut up!" He snapped at the orange-haired male who glared at him before rolling his eyes. He’s never saw Uryu so upset over something before. "Where was the last time you saw them?" Chad watched as Uryu climb tree to tree looking for you. "When we were walking back from school! I looked away for one minute and they were gone!" Uryu exclaimed as Orihime helped check tree after tree. Orihime tilted her head at the foot hanging out of the tree, she walked closer and closer only to see you snoozing in the tree while wearing your boyfriend’s jacket. "I found them!" Orihime pointed to the tree as Uryu traveled quicker than the speed of light. "How did they even get up there?" Ichigo gazed into the tree at your sleeping body. "It’s not important! Now help me get them down."
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐎𝐍 the weekends he does nothing but spend the day snuggling up in bed with you, with a book in one hand while the other scratching your ears continuously. But once you crawl on top of him he would quickly put the book to the side so he can cuddle you properly.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐔𝐑𝐘𝐔 didn’t want you to lift a finger, which explained why he did almost everything for you. From tying your shoes to carrying you around the building. Plenty of people found your relationship adorable, considering they never thought of seeing someone like Uryu carrying someone around school the entire day!
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 Byakyua, he’ll spoil you endlessly. Since you’ve became his lover he made you his number one priority and brought you everything you wanted. Did you want that new scratching post? He’ll buy it with no thoughts behind it. Seeing you happy was more important than anything in the world.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 he’s busy with hollows and what not he leaves your favorite toys around and plays your favorite music that puts you to sleep in an instant. Once he comes come he’ll see you sleeping with a pillow against your chest, wishing it was him instead.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐄 makes the cutest clothes for you! Not to mention he loves making cute matching hats for you during winter, the look on his face when he sees you wearing his designs always made you laugh. Almost everything in your closet was made by Uryu, when people asked where it was from you always said your boyfriend made it for you. <3
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ "𝐀𝐑𝐄 they . . . matching?" Ichigo poimted at the couple who wore the same hat along with the same jacket. Orihime eyes sparkled at the sight, she considered you and Uryu to be the cutest couple in the school. "Ah! Look at L/n–san’s ears! Do you see them?" Orihime pointed at your ears poking from the hat because your ears Uryu cut two holes in the fabric so your hair wouldn't have to struggle and be kept away. "Here you go, my love." Uryu passed the hot chocolate to you with your eyes lighting up. Uryu eyes softened at your lovable behavior, "Thank you Uryu!" You took a sip of the warm chocolate drink as Uryu’s cheeks heated up slightly. "It’s no big deal, I only get the best for you."

!Kyle, gets convinced to go to an audition after a copious amount of flattery and promises. He signs as he takes the paper from her hand. Feeling slightly uneasy about this situation. "10:30 is the official time for tomorrow but, if you want to get in early go at 10, hot stuff."
!Kyle, Flashes a pretty smile and nods," Thanks, love." He starts running back to his house. Daylight burning especially since he's apparently busy tomorrow.' What the hell am I doing?' he asks himself when he reaches his door.
!Reader, who is standing outside the building at 10 on the dot. She nervously repositions her bag on her shoulder as her heart sinks to her ass with every step. "Hello! You can head three doors down and on your left is going to be where you need to go," The receptionist says as soon as you step in.
!Reader, who smiles politely, "Thank you." You quickly head to the room she told you to go to. As you're about to open the door to go in, the door is yanked open! It smacks you right in the face.
!Reader, groans as she holds her nose. "Shit, I'm sorry love. I shouldn't have been rushing," the man says as he grips her chin. He pulls her to him and removes her hands with his other one. He begins checking out her nose. She gets distracted by his pretty brown eyes, brown skin that she swears glows, and his defined and strong collarbone. She wants to kiss and mark his pretty skin up.
"It's fine! It was just an accident," you say as you quickly snap out of your deja vu. You grab his wrist and bring his hands down from your face.
!Kyle, who takes a second to get a good look at your face. A cute pout is on your face as you look up at him. "You need to be more careful," You rub your nose. He flashes you a smile that makes your panties wanna drop and heart flutter.
"I'm truly sorry. I don't make it a habit to smack pretty girls with doors," he pauses before giving you space," I'm Kyle, And you are?"
"Excuse me! you guys aren't supposed to be talking. You aren't supposed to be in this contestant room,'' a worker who was standing on the side watching this love fest, interrupts. She feels like you should save it for the camera!
She quickly leads you to another room. She gushes slightly at the cute interaction she just witnessed, she will be putting in a good for you two. After all, she is the director.

You didn't enjoy how Shunsui Kyōraku was looking at you. His eyes reeked with sadness and sorrow while you lean forward to pour the steaming tea into his cup. You purposely chose lavender tea because it helped with stress—he was the newest commander of all the divisions after all. You can only imagine how stressful that new role was pushed upon him so suddenly amid a war. The silence between you two made you nervous, but you had a feeling that your husband's best friend was here across the Chabudai like old times for a reason.
A reason that you didn't want to accept just yet.
"I'm sorry, Y/N." Shunsui breaks the avoidable sound of nothingness. A void that you didn't want to break because you knew why he was apologizing.
He places the folded white captain coat you've seen your husband wiggle his frame in before the sun has risen many times on the Chabudai and slides it closer to you.
Your chest tighten so harshly that it felt like you couldn't breathe. It felt like a tight chain was wrapped around your chest and limbs and only growing tighter with each passing second of your own silence. Your shoulders lowered and your body couldn't help but slouch at his words. You blink a couple times thinking that maybe this was a nightmare. That if you blinked just five more times, you'll wake up and he'll be right next to sleeping peacefully. But your fifth time blinking, Shunsui still was there.
Your hands shook as you pick up your own cup to sip the warm liquid before speaking, "For what Shunsui? Say it. What exactly are you apologizing for?"
You thought that maybe Shunsui ripping the bandaid off fully would be better. That you can surpass the emotions that were currently attempting to break through this strong barrier you've built up since being married to him. A barrier that you had to build since you knew something like this could happen.
Shunsui's perfectly sculpted jaw clenches, but not in frustration. He didn't want to admit this to you because he still couldn't believe it. He knew this would break you.
"He's gone, Y/N. Jūshirō is gone."
Your eyes graze downward at the white fabric in front of you and finally, the tears you were holding back finally came tumbling down your heated cheeks. A shaky sigh passed by your lips as you were trying your hardest to process this. Your thoughts were swirling around your mind so loudly and quickly that you wanted to turn your brain off. You wanted to climb back into bed and weep until you ran out of tears. But you couldn't.
He wouldn't want that. But gosh, this hurts. It felt like you just received a knife to the heart. Because that's what was taken from you. Your heart. Your moon. Your soulmate.
You went to ask how did it happen. You deserved to know but weren't quite sure if you could handle the truth of that. Your lips went dry parts to speak, but the door of the area you and Shunsui were in was slid open and your head turns to see who was coming in. Your heart cracks in your chest seeing your little baby crawl into the room followed by one of your friends whose been hear with your since Jushiro hasn't been home. He hated when you were home alone.
"I'm so sorry, Y/N. Haru is such a busybody." Your friend jokes but her lips form a straight line when she realizes the tension in the room.
"It's okay, he can stay. But do you think you can pack some things for me? I think I'm going to be staying at my family's estate for a couple of days." Your arms open up so little Haru could climb into your lap.
Your friend didn't question why the suddenness of you needing to go be with your family, but she only nods before excusing herself to do what you asked.
Your head rests on top of Haru's head briefly. His white locks of hair that were beginning to grow faster than you expected tickled your chin. Your eyes met with Shunsui's and the look in them grew darker. Haru's curious hands reach forward to attempt to grab at his father's captain coat which still was like a haunted artifact that you didn't want to touch in the middle of the table.
"Did he die in battle? Fighting?" You asked.
"Sacrificed." Shunsui's answer was short and brief. He sips from his cup despite the fact that the warm liquid didn't calm his nerves at all.
A sad chuckle erupts from you and you give Shunsui a sad lopsided grin, "Of course he did."
Silence overcame you and Shunsui again. You couldn't quite understand how silence couldn't be heard. But it could be considered the loudest sound a person can hear. A deafening void that left a nasty pit in your stomach that was tied into the nastiest knots at the moment.
"Are you going to be okay?" Shunsui leans forwards closer and his large frame leans against the wooden table.
"No, but we'll get through it." Your fingers run through Haru's hair to push some of it out his face.
Shunsui's eyes looked at the infant in your lap and now his stomach was the one churning into abhorrent knots. He was staring at a reflection of Jushiro in the baby. From the curious doe eyes, the crystal white hair, and even down to the way his face scrunched up in frustration due to him not being able to reach Jūshirō's captain coat. His best friend made the same exact face when he was frustrated.
"Will you though? You lost your husband, Y/N. It's okay to break down."
"And you lost your best friend Shunsui, but you must stay strong too because you have commanding captain duties to do, right? The war isn't over yet." You hugged Haru closer because it felt like alongside the memories you shared with Jūshirō that Haru was the last thing of him left.
"Haru and I will be okay because Jūshirō's best friend will not leave me alone until he ensures that I am. Plus, I'm positive that's something he told you to do before he made his decision. Am I correct?"
Characters that are black in my heart🫡
Doflamingo- Ofc my husband is first, lightskin king fr
Piccolo- this is so obvious, that’s unc

Broly- to be specific he’s half black and half Mexican
Toji- I firmly believe all the zenins are
Ymir- this can honestly be switched between her being black and Native American. Maybe both honestly
Baki and his dad- I don’t have a reason it just resonates with me
Katsuki bakugo- that boy is Haitian in my heart
watching atla for the first time
im rewatching bleach because im nostalgic like that (and tbh i never got too far past the soul society arc okay) but like. man. i really hope the whole "ichigo ends with orihime" things isn't true because watching ichigo learning how to fight and use his power and determination LITERALLY with only rukia on his mind drives me insane. they were in love. i don't care what people say they were literally the most important thing for each other at that point. rukia talked about ichigo the whole time she was imprisoned. they motivated each other to keep going. what the FUCK. how could they change each other like this. how could they make each other better. i refuse to believe they weren't endgame come on😭
🌸 Byakuya & Shunsui w/Son!Reader | Bankai before Shikai HCs 🌸
❗Small spoilers for the mention of Azashiro in the novel.❗
Requested by: @lufenianwol
Note: Requests aren't open, but will be at a later date.
It struck him as peculiar for his son to gain his bankai before ever achieving his shikai, yet he knew it wasn't impossible. After all, he knew that Azashiro achieved his bankai without ever gaining a shikai. Still, he found it rather strange at first, but he couldn't deny how unique it made his child out to be. Everyone gushed over the fact that you achieved your bankai first, and as much as you might have enjoyed the attention, you knew this would only make training and fighting a bit tougher for you.
It was more tedious than anything to have to fight without a shikai. Your bankai was always your last resort, however, Byakuya knew this and often had you train alongside him to further your capabilities. He knew better than anyone that a shinigami shouldn't depend solely on their bankai, and so he devoted his free time to helping you to at least try and gain your shikai. It wasn't easy, but these things never were, and your father wasn't the same man he used to be.
Byakuya was a lot more understanding of your situation than you thought, but he also didn't see you as any less for not having a shikai. He also didn't work you to the bone during training. He took things at your pace, and would oftentimes include Renji in the training sessions.
Now, some would call your father a bit overprotective for this, but he grew worried ever since a mission to the World of the Living ended up with you badly injured. He felt awful when you told him it was because you tried to not rely on your bankai as much, to which Byakuya told you to forget he ever said such a thing. That if you need to use it, use it without hesitation. Your life and well-being mattered more to him than restraining yourself like that.
Other shinigami have resorted to nicknaming you "the second Azashiro", but you don't care. Byakuya does, though, and such a silly thing is immediately put to a stop.
If you ever do gain your shikai, your father will sport a smile so proud that it would definitely be the talk of the barracks. However, if you never obtain a shikai, that's okay, too. Byakuya won't ever see you as weak or anything different. He could never think of such a thing with his son. If you still wish to continue training to not rely on your bankai, he'll happily do so.
His son achieved his bankai before his shikai? He's surprised. Very, very surprised, but no sweat. He knows the same thing occurred with Azashiro, especially since that man never achieved a shikai in the end. That just makes you special in his eyes. Now, Shunsui obviously knows the little complications that come with not having a shikai, as well as what can happen when a shinigami relies too much on their bankai. He'd pull a Byakuya and try to train you. Emphasis on try.
It's not that it's difficult, but he can see how bored you get training each and every day with him. As much as he knows it'll make you stronger, he can't bear to see you unhappy like this. So, instead of training you to unlock your shikai, he'll just focus on improving your basic swordsmanship skills as well as your bankai. Shikai be damned at that point.
You're the talk of the Soul Society, though. People are even comparing you to the still imprisoned Azashiro, and you don't care. Neither does your dad with his little carefree personality. Sure, you don't have a shikai like that man, but that doesn't mean you're going to be like him.
Shunsui does get a little concerned when you're on certain missions, though, but you always come back with little to no injuries. For anyone who ever doubted you and your strength, because it certainly was never your father, you prove yourself each and every time. It puts a proud smile on your old man's face. To the point where he always has to brag about you. Nanao never hears the end of it.
He knows you don't need a shikai. Honestly, not with how strong you are now. Though if you ever do get one? He'd be THE proudest dad. Might even bust out a good bottle of sake for such an occasion. Though if you never get your shikai? That's fine, too. Shunsui knows these things take time. That or your Zanpakutō is quite the stubborn one.
Either way, he won't ever see you any different than him or the other shinigami. He also won't take any slander to your name on that, either, and will always bring up the fact that it's the same as shinigami not achieving their bankai. Your old man will always have your back on this.

“Kitty, where are you?" The captain of the 8th division Shunsui Kyoraku walked the corridors of the Seireitei, waving the bell. The man had been looking for a you for nearly ten minutes and didn't want to sleep without his darling husband by his side, so he kept ringing the bell. He thought it was strange because you could hear and smell him from a mile away.
“Aw, man, did he fall asleep without me?” The captain's shoulders slumped with sadness until he heard the sound of footsteps. “There he is!” When he sensed a familiar presence approaching, he instantly turned around and opened his arms for the man, who turned out to be you, his husband. You smiled and quickened your pace as you saw your husband's arms wide and ready to catch you. “Shu!” You laughed as you wrapped your arms and legs around his neck and nuzzled your face against his cheek, causing him to laugh and return the hug.
The captain kissed your forehead with a tiny eye squint, as the amount of sunshine radiating from you was astounding. “Kitty! I thought you went to sleep without me.” You shook your head, your ears swaying with you, while the captain faked a pout. “You know that I can't sleep without you. You’re my giant teddy bear!” You nuzzled your head into his cheek once more, making a small purring sound. When he noticed your charming demeanor, Shunsui swore he felt something pierce through his chest.
“Did you bring any cake?! I can smell cake!” Your eyes twinkled as you smelled the air for the scent of strawberry deliciousness. “Hm? Oh, yeah. Jushiro made some, so I bought one for you and me.” He laughed again when you leaped out of his arms and started bouncing on your toes. Shunsui knew you liked strawberries, so whenever he saw something strawberry-related, he would always get it for you. That explains why your ring is red!
When the captain took out the plastic container containing the pink frosted strawberry cake, your eyes sparkled even more. “Ah! Shu, I love you!” You jumped back into his arms, almost knocking him down in the process. As he stood and accepted it, you held and kissed his face ceaselessly; the feeling of your soft lips against his skin made him feel like he was in heaven.
“I love you even more, my dear hubby. But we should leave because I'm still meant to be working on the paperwork Nanao gave me earlier.” The man scratched the back of his neck, the thought of Nanao discovering him and chewing him out sent shivers down his spine. You watched as the man turned around and knelt down slightly, beckoning for you to climb on his back. He didn't have to tell you twice! You jumped on his back with ease and kissed his cheek one last time.
The tree shade remained over the couple as they slept comfortably, without a care in the world. Shunsui buried his face in your hair as the wind blew through his gorgeous brown hair. The pink flowered kimono was draped over you and his shoulders, with him frequently fanning away the butterflies that flew around your ears with his straw hat. The man slept into your soft h/c hair until a familiar sensation pricked his nose, causing him to awaken and sneeze.
“Eh?” He observed your h/c ears twitching when he looked down. Shunsui's heart burst out of his chest when he watched you nuzzle your nose into his chest before flicking your ears once more. He moved one of his hands up to your scalp, giving it a light scratch. Your purring could have put anyone into cardiac arrest. “How adorable.” The man commented as your luscious lips snorted peacefully. Because you and he were both busy people, you would constantly slip away to your favorite hiding locations to nap and eat your favorite snacks.
You were the most handsome thing in his eyes. From your soft brown skin that was little to no scars, your soft hair that blended in well with with your adorable cat ears, and your soft but fierce ( e / c ) eyes that he loved staring into. Ah, he still can’t believe you chose to marry someone like him. The man was too busy admiring your beauty that he didn’t notice you had already woken up. “Hm? Is there something on my face?” You rubbed your eyes while he watched you touched your cheeks and nose. He chucked, “No, I’m just admiring how beautiful my husband is.” He gave you a lazy smirk, his thumb stroking the crumbs off the corner of your lips.
You smiled before crawling onto him, now straddling his hips. Shunsui raised his eyebrow before a pervert like smile appeared on his face. “Oh? Are we gonna get busy? Don’t worry, I’ll let you be in charge this time.” He smirked as your cheeks warmed up, causing you to pinch his cheek making him hiss in pain.
“Will you stop that Shu!” You continued to pinch his cheek as you waved his hands around in a surrendering motion. Once you let his cheek go the man rubbed his face with crocodile tears leaving his eyes. “My dear kitty doesn’t love me anymore! What shall I do?!” The man whines dramatically as you snickered and rolled your eyes. “Don’t be such a baby, Shu. You were the one who was having a negative mindset! Who the hell wants to get busy out in the open like this?” You sighed and pinched your nose as Shunsui muttered something under his breath. You tilted your head, “Hm? Did you say something?” You narrowed your eyes at your husband who had a pervy smile on his face. "Me, besides—we’re pretty far away from everyone—" "Don’t even think about it!"

As ladies giggled and swarmed around your mistress, you looked over a few shoulders to see exactly what they were looking at, despite having already seen it a million times.
The object of their attention was the colour atop of your mistress’ nails, her having used a special lacque to get them to stay such a vibrant red colour. The lacque was a paint that provided colour atop the nails, some new invention made by an alchemist with too much time, the pigment making the nails of one’s hands stand out in beautiful ways. When first heard of such an invention, many of the maids had had their doubts, whispering to each other that discolored nails were not exactly a sign of beauty. The countess provided a counter argument by just placing her hands gently against her equally as burgundy dress, the silk and lacque providing contrast with her skin in an awe-striking way.
Everyone behind the scenes of the dinner party had been told to keep the purchase of the lacque hidden, as that would’ve ruined the surprise. It had worked just as intended, all the other ladies present jealously gazing upon the countess, timidly asking her where her lady had acquired such a thing.
The reply, always an amusement to you, was as predictable as it was false.
“Oh? You haven’t heard of it?” Countess Tièna said, a faint and disarmingly patient smile tugging at her lips. “An alchemist from the west has made a special type of paint that is safe for the human skin and holds pigment within nails for quite a long time. I was simply too curious not to try it out, and I must say, I am not disappointed.”
“You look absolutely breathtaking, my lady.” The new wife of the earl added, nipping her floral tea delicately, taking only the tiniest of sips. “I’m sure you must have garnered many suitors for such a well-decorated hand.”
It was presumably said as a light attempt at humor, but every eye snapped towards Tièna, gathering her reaction to such a comment. The countess’ marriage prospects were, after all these years, still a subject of interest. Both because of the power she held in her territories, the rumors regarding her late husband's death, as well as the mature beauty she’d turned into.
The countess’ smile faltered for a single second. Another lady coughed slightly, having covered her mouth even before any sound came out. You were staring blankly at the wall with your back straightened, keeping your peripherals on the table to check if everyone was still well. As a servant, you had a basic understanding of the politics that went on in this place. One had to, when every conversation you overheard during work was between high-ranking nobility.
She couldn’t be seen faltering as a host, which was as far as you could guess her current motivation, so the countess pretended to burst out in giggles before studying her own hand. “It must be so. Well-decorated it is most certainly.”
Her attempts at tying off the subject were ignored, as the second question rose up immediately.
It was, unsurprisingly, one of the older, more conniving ladies that spoke up. “I have even heard the esteemed captain has visited here a few times. It might be presumptuous of me, but might he be after said hand?”
You side-eyed the countess, reading her reaction. An insinuation that she’d even humour the captain’s possible affections was preposterous, and raising it as an actual possibility of marriage was an insult to the countess at best.
It wasn’t a nobility thing, the ladies’ dislike for the captain. He was born from a high enough station and had been majorly successful in his position. It was rather that despite his noble birth and many military accomplishments, he seemed utterly uninterested in the subtleties of the court, instead relying on his rank to make sure no indiscretions ever affected his station.
He was absolutely hated among lower nobility, and even high nobles seemed wary even associating with him, despite his influence. The captain ruled with brute force, and at times seemed more akin to a barbarian than a high lord of the court. Returning his affections would mean social death in the countess’ eyes, even if it’d lean her a great deal more power to associate closely with the military.
“It is quite presumptuous of you, I am afraid.” The earl’s wife gasped, the hard choice of words surely testing her constitution. “There is a bit of business with which he needed my approval, and I aided him in his endeavors.”
Your face did not move an inch, your gaze settling firmly on the curtains, but inside your mind, your head was whirring.
That was a lie.
The countess had no idea why the captain had visited so often lately, but there was no way she could ever tell the other noble ladies that. It would be too easily reconstructed as romantic interest, despite the fact that all the times the man had visited her, he’d barely stayed for more than a few minutes, saying little each time. His silence was worse, as he was not known as a bashful man, meaning there had to be something she was missing.
Telling the others he’d needed her aid with military business was a fair move, since it implied her own influence in those kinds of matters. Despite this, you knew from the moderate reaction and the soft ‘oh’s that not everyone believed this.
One of the newer ladies, who’s names you’d stopped trying to remember after your countess’ sixth move (she couldn’t seem to decide whether country-life or city-live suited her more), lifted a dainty finger. “How intriguing. I’ve yet to meet the captain. From what I’ve heard he is a valiant warrior and brilliant strategist. I am most certain he is quite busy, since of course protecting a country leaves much work to be done, but I am curious whether or not he will attend the celebration of the Third next week.”
An older woman shook her head and placed her hands atop one another on her legs. “I would not count on it. Captain Kenpachi is known for being a bit of a truant with such occasions. Perhaps the socializing is not to his liking.”
They all laughed as if a joke had been told.
You could tell that the ladies here were in leagues above the countryside nobility. There they still let personality shine through, messy hair days and muffled curses when things went wrong, while here every movement seemed studied. None of their backs touched the leaning. Drinking the expensive tea that had been laid out occured in slow bouts of minimal sips. None of the food that was present had been touched, but everyone had something on their plate. None of them spoke with accents, even the lady you knew to be from the south speaking the language like she’d never spoken anything else. Eyecontact was short and divided between the most important players, the countess in particular having the privilege as host to decide whom she’d meet halfway. They all smiled, though the subject matter was not nearly as innocent as they were making it seem.
If others were able to see the cards in your hand, it meant you were either stupid or unwilling to play the game, and these women were playing. This was as close to outright gossiping they could get in this group without shifting power in any direction. For the countess, allowing clear insults to the captain at her party would be something the rest could hold against her and use later, but changing the subject would make the ladies presume the countess did hold some affection, and they would force that rumor to fly until it became a problem.
Or at least, this is what you presumed. Once you’d spoken to Natlan, a clerk, and he’d held theories of social standing shifts and codes hiding within the colours of the dresses that had made your head boggle. You kept it simple. It was hard keeping up with professionals.
The viscountess, a black-haired woman with very sharp eyes, delicately pushed a non-offending hair strand over her shoulder. This lady in particular wore a blue dress fitted to perfection, and sat perfectly upright and slightly diagonally on the chaise she’d been assigned, to make her dress fall perfectly, hovering barely over the floor. “Do you know the reasons for his absence, lady Tièna? Perhaps having discussed military strategy with him has given you some insight on his personal reasons for staying outside of the court proceedings?”
You sucked on your cheek as you heard the question, feeling in your stomach the direction this conversation would take.
“Sadly, I do not know him that well.” The countess diverted, before pointing towards you, to which you just stood up straighter, cursing your own existence. "But perhaps she can clue us in.”
“The help?” Came the soft question of the earl’s wife, looking at you as if she’d just noticed your very physical presence in this room.
Tièna nodded in your direction, allowing you to speak.
You bowed your head. “I was temporarily traveling with the captain’s entourage from Sitsum to Tserk and back.”
“That is quite a distance.” The viscountess stated dryly, having dropped her smile for once, forgetting her decorum when addressing the staff. “What reason could you possibly have had to travel all that way?”
The countess held up her hand, motioning towards her painted nails, not yet wanting to give up the adoration they had afforded her. “I couldn’t just send a coachman, could I! When I heard of its existence, I simply had to make certain the boxes would arrive safely.”
While the viscountess opened her mouth to reply, the earl’s wife cut in between with barely hidden excitement, her tea cup even being placed back on the saucer so she could clasp her hands. “Boxes? There are more?”
“Oh my sweet ladies,” the countess nearly sang. “Of course I brought you all some as well, how vain do you think me? I simply had to test it before giving you all such a rarity, since I did not want to accidentally gift something subpar. The restraint in time due to the long travel time meant I had little choice.”
They all cooed and started heaping words of praise and thanks onto the countess, some of the younger ladies even whispering among themselves in excitement. During the trip, you’d become very acquainted with the bottles, and you knew that none of the colors meant for others were quite as shiny and full as the one meant for the countess. It was a childish move, but a welcome one, as you hoped it had changed the subject successfully.
“I do not mean to cut our excitement short, and we can certainly revisit the subject of the beautiful lacque later, since I am sure we are all quite curious as to how it’s made and what brilliant alchemist could have made such a thing, but the captains constitution interests me a little bit more at the moment.” Lady Babette was unperturbed by the gift, and was eager to return to the gossip, quite possibly because it was the more fruitful information. Some seemed disappointed at the change of subject, but the more experienced ladies all seemed eager to continue a truly worthwhile conversation. Lady Babette turned to you and her smile fell. “So, could you perhaps tell us how the captain seemed to you?”
You smiled and hoped it didn’t seem too forced.
“As there were quite a number of people traveling with the entourage, I did not see the captain often.” You hesitantly started, picking your words very carefully, lest you get berated at the end of the party. “The few times I did see him, he was traveling at the back of the caravan. I did not recognize him as the captain at first.”
The memories swirled inside your head, even as you forced them away. You’d not speak them aloud, and no one here would learn of what had actually taken place during the trip.
After weeks on the road, one's day to day thoughts become little else but varying desires. Wishing for a soft bed, for a full meal, for a small break to refill your waterskin and rest your legs, for the journey to be over already.
The way to, you’d still been filled with adrenaline and excitement at going to Tserk, the port city being known for its beautiful lights and amazing food. You were so curious to see the city square, where you’d been told there were more stalls than in the entire capital. Merchants selling their goods, bars filled with jolly people eager to make a quick buck off of travelers. You’d saved your money for months, really wanting to bring back some sweets for your family, and maybe a new coat if there were nice ones.
This excitement kept you from growing tired when the missed sleep started adding up, the carriages filled to the brim and the ground hard and cold to sleep on. The third night, you were gifted a bedroll by a soldier who’d seen you struggling, and you’d thanked him profusely. When he’d started insinuating that you needed to repay him with sexual favors, you’d excused yourself and slept in a different part of the caravan. There were more people sitting around a campfire at this new section, and you were sure that if the soldier found you here, you could yell for help. That big guy in particular would be a useful ally, if he was a tad more heroic than he seemed.
After three hard weeks of walking through rough terrain and arriving in Tserk, you realized you’d forgotten along the way that you were traveling with a militant company, and cities did not particularly enjoy having foreign armies conducting business. The vice-captain, the one who’d held contact with Lady Tiena about you accompanying them, had informed you to go about your business and then return to the camp, since staying in the city would be dangerous.
So no fresh eel, tuna and salmon on your plate. No exciting nights spent talking to people in the bars, or hours spent exploring the markets. Just a quick trip to the alchemist, who of course didn’t even live in the city. You couldn’t even see a glimpse of it. The alchemist was a stoic man who preferred his silence, so instead you were forced to undergo another four hour hike up to his house, at which you were given the boxes and sent right back down, the man not even offering you some water or food.
Disappointment and all out exhaustion were the themes of the way back.
The military campaign had been short, and while some soldiers were left behind to ‘protect the peace’, most would return back, though the caravan was significantly shorter. The first day traveling again, after a mere two days of respite, had been spent trying to get back into the rhythm, to no avail, but at least you were among people you recognized from the way to, your eyes now sleepily following the big guy you’d seen before, his black hair swaying side to say in a hypnotizing way.
But his hair wasn’t necessarily what had caught your initial attention.
He’d dropped a knife. For miles you’d noticed the dingy string swing back and forth, barely holding onto the weapon anymore. How he didn’t find the constant tapping of the sheath against his hips annoying, you couldn’t fathom, but you also couldn’t tell him, the few feet you’d have to sprint to catch up too much to ask of your poor legs. The bottles had taken up your space in the carriages, meaning all that was left for you to do was walk, a terrifying realization knowing you were weeks off from the mansion Without even the quietest snaps, you saw the metal disappear into the snowy road and knew it wouldn’t have made loud enough a sound to be noticed.
You curled your coat tighter around your body and sighed, pushing yourself to close the distance.
Reaching the location of the knife, you stopped walking and picked up the weapon. After a while you reached the man, and you tapped his arm. He stopped walking and faced you, and you completely froze beyond the cold already seeping through your bones. You’d known he was massive, but how could a man look this angry. He looked like he’d tear you limb to limb for just having touched his arm.
You held out the knife with a small smile. “You dropped this.”
His eyes went towards the knife and he took it from your hands, flipping it in the air once before throwing it in a nearby random carriage, the soft thunk making you feel quite silly for having gone through the effort of retrieving something that was probably worthless.
“So I did.” He grumbled, casting you a single glance more before turning around and continuing to walk, the caravan moving continually. It’d be hours before camp would be made, but you still yearned for even a glimmer of warmth and sleep.
For now, the relief regarding the lack of wind reaching you behind the back of this monster of a man was enough.
None of these resurfacing memories were part of your description to the ladies. You kept your story short and to the point, trying not to say anything that would lead them to suspect you of withholding information. Technically you did not lie. You hadn’t known. You still could barely believe it.
Your anxiety was probably still shining through, as several more experienced attendees of the tea party visibly frowned, though you felt hesitant to call it such. Just the barest raise of the eyebrows, a hint of distrust in their eyes. Even if you’d told the entire tale, including every single detail, you were sure that would still be the case. Maids were known to lie every now and again, as they’d all be dead if they didn’t. The difference between a good maid and a bad one was the timing.
“Since you state you only saw him a few times, the odds of you two having spoken must be quite small.” Lady Babette said with a sigh, clearly having hoped for some more direct information on the captain's personality. “But the entourage must be quite familiar with him, how did they talk about him?”
“As they are a wartime outfit, things could be quite militant,” you said, the words rushing across your tongue. “Most did not want to acquaint themselves with me.”
“Hey! Girl!” Someone shouted, and by the grit underlying the voice, you recognized it as the one who’d dropped the knife earlier that day. You looked up, not yet realizing he was calling you, but the second you made direct eye contact, you were fully awake. “Come here.”
Not really knowing the chain of command, and kind of curious as to why he was calling you over to the much more lively campfire, you crawled out of your bedroll and walked over, just a few steps shy of the entire group. To be put on the spot so heavily was a bit embarrassing, but you were here now. Nothing to do but endure, as the hole in your left shoe had taught you today.
“Is there something?” You resisted the urge to rub sleep out of your eyes and tried to look agreeable. No servant of Lady Tièna would continue to be in her employ if she found out you’d behaved discourteously during your travels. The group soldiers all regarded you curiously as the big man had addressed you. A small smile tugged at your lips. “You found a knife?”
He scoffed and instead waved over to a free spot next to the fire. You blinked, but your feet were already moving and sitting yourself down next to some people you recognized during the day, not really feeling up to questioning anything.
Despite the big man not having said a word, the others all seemed humored, to various degrees, and quickly the silence stopped. At first you were completely overwhelmed, but grateful to sit beside the warm fire, but soon several people asked you why you were traveling with the group and what your name was. After the introduction, things went easier. They were all nice, and you’d sorely missed some livelihood during your travels.
Food was passed around, though the amount was nothing in comparison to the gallons and gallons of alcohol doing the rounds. Compared to the dutiful stride during the day, every single one of them seemed eager to let loose a little now. Tales were being swapped, drinking games played, and when it was your turn to tell a dirty joke, you visibly surprised them all with the most vulgar one you’d ever been told, a bald soldier sitting right across from you spitting out his ale at the punchline while the rest burst out in laughter.
It reminded you of the time you’d broken your leg and were sent home a while. You hadn’t wanted to sit at home the entire while, so after a week, you’d asked your neighbor to just help you get to the nearest pub so you could spend your time people-watching. You made sure to pay the bartender for a drink every so often, and while those were the most expensive few days of your life, you regarded them dearly.
A drunk soldier had tripped over the back end of your dress and spilled some drink on the big man and you by proxy, and quite nearly immediately a fight broke loose. Just like in the bar, it’d seemed more like a play than an actual fight. Sure, at the end the offender held a broken arm and a bruised nose while his opponent just laughed, but instead of complaining, he doused himself in ale and loudly declared himself a repentant sinner, causing another wave of cheers and lively chatter.
When most of the conversations had died out, and the vast majority had gone to sleep, you were still sitting next to the smoldering ashes, not yet ready to let the evening slip by. The big guy had also stayed, though he looked tired and kind of pissed, even if you had learned that it was probably his set expression. Eager to immediately prove you wrong, his expression shifted to a wide grin and he turned to you, holding out his hand.
“I’m Zaraki.”
You smiled and introduced yourself as well, feeling the happiest you’d felt in a while.
“Come on, girl.” Said a woman who was probably the same age as you. “You can tell us everything! I can see that you are nervous, but there is no need to. What you say will not leave this room.”
Resisting the urge to laugh nervously, you instead just nodded. Seems like they didn’t buy the idea that you were just anxious from speaking so much in front of nobility. Lady Tièna smiled her usual patient and loving smile, but you saw by the tightness of her lips that she’d be angry with you if your story did not entertain her guests sufficiently. It didn’t matter. You’d rather be hit by her for such a minor offense than deal with the consequences of the truth.
She’d kill you, if she knew.
“Ah, well. That is really all.” You lied. “I don’t think I saw him at all after we passed the mountains. It was only after arriving at the capital that I recognized him again and identified him as the captain of the eleventh.”
“Eleventh division.” Tièna corrected.
“Yes. The eleventh division, my apologies.” Only referring to the numbers was the modern way of saying it, something that had certainly not reached this place yet. “But I promise, that is all.”
“Are you sure?” Another lady drawled, disappointed at the anticlimactic story.
“I promise.” You repeated, more firmly this time.
It was not all. Definitely not.
“Please-please-please-” You chanted, head thrown back as your chest rose off the ground against his skin. Sadly, your pleading found no willing listener as his hips slowly came to a halt, again, and you wondered why a brute of a man such as him would be so incredibly cruel, not just to you, but to himself. “Nooooo...”
He snorted a laugh. “You’re acting like I’m hurting you.”
“You’re being an asshole.” You slapped his chest in mild indignation, the sweat on your skin heating and cooling in cycles for what felt like forever now. Your legs were aching, his body so big you couldn’t wrap your legs around him, leading to him having put one of them on his shoulder. When he thrust in, a heavy slap resounding through the forest, you could feel your body folding. “Don’t tease so much.”
“I’m not teasing, I’m just getting the most out of this.” With any other man, in any other case, you would’ve been uncomfortable. The forest floor wasn’t the best place to fuck on, and there were people waking up just a bit out of sight. If even one of them walked out into the forest to piss, you’d be caught. Regardless, you wanted him with every fiber of your being, the predatory look in his eyes sending shivers down your spine. “We’ve got a twelve hour march after this, so I’m getting my fill.”
“Don’t talk about walking.” You moaned, your lust addled brain now making room for how little you looked forward to making it even worse through the course of the day. God, why were you letting yourself be fucked by quite nearly the biggest man in the entire caravan? What was wrong with you? You’d probably not even last an hour before collapsing. “Not looking forward to it.”
“Pfft. I’m not that cruel.” He pushed his hair back, and you wondered if he knew how attractive the motion was, or if he could feel you tighten up on him in response. You couldn’t tell, but he did start moving his hips again, and you were sure that if he didn’t let you come this time, you’d cry. “If you can hold out for just a bit longer, how about I put you on my spot on one of the carriages so you can rest a bit. I’m not usin’ it anyway.”
You hummed and decided that such a deal would definitely make this giddy feeling last a bit longer, the flutters in your stomach not killed the day after by another harsh day. You coyly looked up at him and wondered if you’d ever found something so simple so romantic. “Are you serious?”
“Dead.”
“Fine.” You smiled widely and raised your hands to his face, cupping his harsh features and imagining what could possibly be going on inside his head. You two were no longer strangers, having made this entire affair way more intimate than it had any right to be, but he still felt miles away. “But only if you kiss me.”
“A hard bargain.” He said, but he immediately bent down, letting your leg fall into the damp grass. At first you’d used the bedroll, but after the third position he’d wanted to try, it’d been discarded somewhere. You’d look for it later. There was only one thing you wanted now.
You wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him fiercely, your tongues interlacing while your lips glided over his. Heavy balls slapped against your ass and despite already being firmly attached to one another, his hands grabbed your waist, forcing your lower body a bit up into the air so he could thrust faster. You broke the kiss to whimper against him, your entire body lifting off the ground to chase the pleasure he was giving you.
His face disappeared into your neck, and as you felt him suck a hickey into your neck, you looked up into the bright blue sky, trying to keep yourself from screaming his name as his cock pummeled into you, twitching when he felt you clamp down on him. Digging your nails into his back, you closed your eyes and heard your whimpers become more and more desperate until pleasure finally shook through your entire body, your head thrown back in utter rapture.
He moaned, a low and masculine sound, and you felt cum fill you up, waves of warmth being thrust inside you while you were barely coming down from your own high. Sitting upright, not yet pulling out, he regarded you with a bit of amusement. You were still panting, lying completely defeated on the forest floor.
“And here I was trying to spend more time with you.” A large hand went toward your boobs, and he started to firmly massage one of them, a lazy smirk on his face. “Did you do that on purpose?”
“I have no idea what you mean.” You actually didn’t, but you were sure the tired smile you had on your face made you seem much more mischievous than you really were. As if you’d been in the state of mind to do anything but chase after pleasure when you were being fucked like that. “Do I need to do it again?”
He bent forward and placed his hands on either side of your head, leaning over you completely. Slowly, he moved his hips against yours a few times, experimentally, to see if he could go another round. You got your answer through a dangerous sounding chuckle. “I think you might have to.”
--
All in all, the rest of the way back had been interesting. When you returned to your lady, having gone away from the caravan on the last night to avoid having to say goodbye, you wondered if you’d ever again experience such a romance. Sure, there were servants that married outside of work, but such matters were often more about convenience than passion. Nothing like what this had been. You’d even had dreams of leaving with him, of grabbing his hands and going across the sea, but thoughts of your responsibilities and the people depending on your paycheck had made you dutifully pack your bags and return.
You delivered the lacque to your lady, were hit once for one box that had been damaged during the way, and then dismissed to return to the normal day-to-day tasks. Nothing had changed.
And nothing would change, you thought, your period returning two weeks later leading you to believe you’d truly gotten away with the entire thing. When you’d been ordered to accompany Lady Tièna to the capital to tend to her chamber whilst she was gone, you went along, sad you couldn’t even visit home before being brought along to another trip. You just sent a letter with a few weeks worth of pay to your family, and hoped everyone was okay.
It only took a few days to arrive at the capital, which had been an easier journey since you were allowed to sit front of the carriage next to the driver, a seat that only became cumbersome when it started raining. The capital was a beautiful city, though you didn’t look forward to it much, knowing the beauty was only there if one kept to the the main roads. Any detour and being accosted or swindled were par for the course.
The destination was, of course, the castle, but to get there, every noble had to get through the entirety of the capital. The city center had been destroyed so many times the houses were various eras of architecture, modern white brick interlaced with the bygone popular red clay bricks. You were not a fan of it, though you couldn’t tell whether that was because of the people or the city itself.
There were people swarming the streets everywhere, but the gate to the castle was especially busy, a lot of nobles arriving for the ceremony, though you’d still not been told what exactly was going on. There were enough balls and occasions for them to all blur, and as long as you did your job well, no one would care if you didn’t know what exactly was going on. Even one noble had several guards and maids surrounding them at all times, so for there to be a lot of nobles, it also meant there was a great deal of personnel.
At this giant crowd, you merely looked over the uncountable number of heads, trying to spot anything interesting. Mostly, you were just relieved the cart ride would be over soon, your hips aching after having sat on a hobbly surface for the last ten hours. You cracked your neck and took another quick glance, determining whether it was necessary for you to sit upright and act professional yet.
And then you’d seen him.
It was almost impossible to miss him, his head sticking far out in the crowds, though several spears obstructed the view. The same black hair, the same glare, though his clothes were leagues more expensive, an odd mix of the standard neat vest and pants mixed with heavy set boots, silver shoulder pauldrons and a wide belt around his waist.
You didn’t want to point, but still turned to the driver. “That’s-”
“Who?” The driver said, looking at the crowd to find who you’d been so shocked by. “Ah. Captain Kenpachi? It’s pretty rare to see him here, I guess.”
To say your blood ran cold was an understatement.
“Captain?!”
He blinked. “Yeah? You mean the big fellow, right?”
Every last bit of air seemed to escape your lungs at a snail's pace, and you found it difficult to fit this bit of knowledge into your world view. “Isn’t his name... Zaraki?”
“Kenpachi Zaraki, yeah.” The driver focused more on the road now that the crowd was getting thicker, yelling out in front of him on multiple occasions to get people to move to the side whilst you were desperately waiting for him to continue speaking. “I knew it was something with a Z.”
“Oh.” You breathed out.
It took about a day after finding out you’d had an affair with one of the most powerful men in the country before you’d gathered your sensibilities again. At first you kept tripping, distracted by your newfound knowledge, but after a quick slap by Tièna after you asked her to repeat herself, the rhythm of work brought you back, though even now the thoughts were waiting at your peripheral.
Your mistress at her entrance to the proceedings had done swimmingly and, at the very least, you’d not lost focus, even when Zaraki had been right there in the crowd, talking to someone. Your eyes had been fixated on him, but the second he turned even slightly in your direction, you’d looked away. Well, it wasn’t your direction. It was Lady Tièna’s.
And yet… he’d shown up a few days later. You’d nearly gotten a heart attack as you’d walked in with tea, and he’d sat on the chaise. He’d not fit in with the feminine style your lady preferred, and when you sat down the cups, he threw you a mean-looking grin that assured you he remembered you clearly. Lady Tièna had been unsure how to deal with him, especially since he didn’t give a clear reason for his presence. You knew what he was there for, the slightly manic eyes he held whenever you two made eye contact making you foolishly imagine that the late night talks and moments of passion had actually meant something to him.
Another week, and you’d realized they’d meant nothing. He just saw you as an easily accessible whore, conveniently here in the capital while he did some business. The first moment he’d gotten you alone, he’d made this clear, shushing you whenever you tried to speak up and pressing your face in a pillow while he made use of you. Despite the more comfortable setting, the soft cushions and the feathers beneath you, it was a lot more uncomfortable and painful compared to the hard and wet forest floor.
It had broken your heart a little, despite how you knew it was foolish to even let it surprise you. You tried to get used to the new set of circumstances, despite knowing how close to execution and betrayal you were. Just a single glance from someone who would tell, a single word spread too far, a single meaningful sigh the ladies would hear from your lips.
Again, it was the rhythm of work that brought you back. It would always be like that, the clear structure of Lady Tièna’s care making your own life fade to the background. You washed, bathed, cleaned, refreshed, and maybe at the end of the day, you would not think too long about your situation. You had more important things to think of. The celebration of the Third. The entire reason for coming here. The one’s dependant on your pay.
You lived towards the festivities, hoping it would rid your mind of all these thoughts, and when the celebration did arrive, you were disappointed it did not consume you as much as you’d promised yourself it would. The ceremony lasted the entire day and night, but your presence was not required after the garden luncheon. Desperately trying to find something to pass the time with, you sneaked away towards the staff rooms, hopefully getting in a nap before your late shift. You’d have to clean Tièna’s room, empty her bedchamber pot, ready her late night tea, remove her laundry and notify the other staff of whatever she wished to eat tomorrow.
Close to your destination, you locked eyes with a rather nervous looking guard whose eyes were darting between you and something behind you. Paying a little more attention, you suddenly heard some boots behind you, heavy-set, and at a pace you’d recognize in your dreams.
“You certainly walk faster when it’s on marble.” The new arrival said. You turned around and saw Zaraki, and immediately bowed deeply, feeling the guard's gaze burn into your back. Despite your fears for Zaraki- captain Kenpachi acting improperly with an audience, he seemed to agree that an extra set of eyes was unwanted. With a quick look toward the guard, the man was dismissed, and somehow the realization that it was now just the two of you was neither better nor worse. The captain looked you over. “How’re you doing?”
You took a shaky breath
“I am doing fine.” Slightly unsure how to carry yourself in this situation, you just clasped your hands in front of your body and wiggled back and forth on the heel of your feet. “Is there... any reason you stopped me?”
“Do I need a reason?” He took a step forward and placed a finger under your chin, a low noise escaping him as he got a good look at you. “If I want to see my woman, I will.”
You interrupted his reveling by taking a step back.
“My lord, that’s not something-” To say you were at a loss for words would be a lie, since you knew exactly what you needed to say, but did not dare phrase it the way your heart wanted to. “That’s not something that’s proper.”
His brows furrowed and he crossed his arms, and you would’ve accused him of pouting if he did not seem so incredibly scary doing so. He was big, and everytime you looked at him, at his bulging arms and struggling clothes, you believed the rumors you’d been told about him since arriving here a little more. How he’d halved a man wearing armor with a practice sword on the battlefield, how he’d punched an iron gate open, how he’d ripped off a head clean using only his thumb and index finger. Rumors. Scary stories. Tales that felt more real with each second you spent in his vicinity.
“Proper? I don’t think a maid who let’s herself get fucked in someone else’s bed can talk about being proper.” He grumbled, his voice raspy and low, making you need to focus to catch some of his sentence.
“I hardly let you.” You argued, before catching yourself in your rudeness. You’d basically implied he’d raped you, a harsh accusation to throw, despite not being completely untrue. He’d cornered you after meeting him again in the halls of the castle and had barely spoken before dragging you into an unused room meant as a secondary room for your employer, undressing himself before you’d even gathered what was happening. Still, he was more powerful than you could even fathom, both in strength and status, and using the staff was only customary in some houses. Perhaps you’d believed for too long that the castle was different. You cleared your throat. “My apologies. I meant to say that I appreciate your kindness, but there is no need for you to concern yourself with me.”
“Stop being so uptight.”
“I do not mean to be.”
“Well, you are.” He crossed his arms. “You were a lot more fun while traveling.’
A livid feeling bubbled at the base of your neck and for a second, you saw actual red. It took a deep breath and a full ten seconds of re-composing yourself before you opened your mouth to speak again, hoping the time had been enough to wash away the bitter and angry tone you wanted to place on your words so badly. “Captain Zaraki, whilst traveling I was unaware of who you were, and I’m sure you were unaware of my position.”
“Nah, I knew you were working for that Tièna woman. I asked Madarame while we were in Lippenfield.”
“If you knew then why would you-?” You cut yourself off and found a wholely dehumanizing reason for it. Ah. He’d really let you whisper confessions of your feelings all the while knowing it was nothing but a fling for him. A fun distraction before he settled down with one of those ladies who wouldn’t even make eye contact with you.
If anyone knew what had happened, they wouldn’t put any sort of blame on his end, while you’d most certainly be sent home for disgracing your employer. Even if he had any sort of feelings toward you, which you doubted, the only one at risk here during this conversation was you. You needed to remain poised, and show no sign of weakness or anger. The same as usual.
“I see. I apologize for my insolent behavior then, but I must still ask you to forget about me, since I neither want to cause trouble for my lady, nor be an issue for a more suitable match.” Footsteps in the distance were a lot louder when you didn’t want to be caught. You turned around to see who approached and blanched when you noticed it was the second in command to Za- captain Kenpachi. The last thing you needed was any more eyes. “If there’s nothing else I can do for you, I will take my leave now.”
Risking decorum, you just walked away, gripping the fabric of your dress tightly. Tears pricked at your eyes, and you would surely start bawling if you heard even one thing they said, no matter the subject. To avoid losing yourself like that, you hurried to the chambers of your mistress. The staff chambers would be too full at a time like this, so behind the curtains of your ladies bedchamber would certainly be a better place to cry until you stopped feeling so goddamn desolate.
The two men you left behind watched as you left, and the second you got out of earshot, Madarame turned to his captain, his arms crossed.
“How’d it go, cap’?”
Kenpachi Zaraki sighed deeply, before turning around and heading the other direction. Madarame followed suit, suppressing the slight amusement he felt at seeing his captain so out of sorts.
“I have no idea.” He shrugged, deciding to go to the training fields to find some poor chums to work off some energy, since his plan A for that purpose had promptly backfired. Zaraki glowered as he walked through the halls, many people flinching at the sight of him. Madarame only sighed and tried to save face by smiling at the passerby. The captain sighed deeply. What had changed here? She’d been blabbering about love before they’d split and now she could barely look at him without looking half out of her mind with anger. So she hadn’t expected him to be a captain, what did that matter? Was she angry he didn’t say anything about that or something? Ugh. “Women are way too complicated.”
“Hear hear.” His second in command agreed.
“What’s your take on it?’ Kenpachi asked, feeling a bit disgruntled he had to ask for advice on the topic, but he was getting tired of seeing you dart around so skittishly. He wanted you back, the wide-smiling beauty that had trailed behind him and gripped him by both his body and mind in the span of two weeks, but all he saw now was a ghost of you, bruises, polite words and dark circles hiding you from him. “My main idea now is to just kill that countess.”
Madarame sputtered and looked around to see if anyone had overheard that. “What would that fix? I know it’s my job to get you out of political messes, but don’t just charge into them!”
“Do you have anything better?”
“Anything! Anything is better!”
“Hmm.” He considered some alternatives for a second. If killing that cunt of a countess would create too much of a fuss, surely he could just take you for his wife? There’d be bitching about that surely too, but at least he wouldn’t need to apologize to any of the other captains that way. A dark voice within him said that you’d probably be too loyal to that woman to just leave with him after this entire fiasco was over, or you’d have sixty other objections, like women were prone to have. He’d need to be your only right option, and make you certain that that was the case. “I think I have an idea.”
“Please don’t tell me about it. It’ll only ruin my evening.”
It didn’t sound that dramatic in his own mind. He just needed to ruin you for anything else. If one of those uptight ladies, preferably that Tièna woman, would walk in on him fucking you, you’d probably get fired, and you’d be ripe for the taking. If anything, he was saving you from a long time of being a servant, since Zaraki for one, was quite interested in what you’d look like taken care of. The stench of nobility and servitude had to be washed off of you, and he could once again smell and touch you, in all your natural glory.
“Your call.” Zaraki shrugged, rolling his shoulders as he walked further down the halls, his mind shortly remembering how you’d looked while he had followed you, the sight of your back one he missed already. Quickly pushing away the sentimentality, he readied himself to bash some faces in, the training grounds surely lessening some of the aggression he felt.
And then after, he could come and get you.
They just don't get it.

He would try to send you off, but you'd always give him your famous eyes and pout, which he couldn’t say no to. While spending the day with him, you’ll frequently play with the toys he brought you, which are pretty interesting.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓 your way of showing love to him was incredibly sweet, since you couldn’t verbally speak to him at times. He would wake up to you nuzzling your cheek into his while saying good morning. — "Good morning, dear." Jushiro's eyes softened at you sitting on his lap with your tail doing its usual wags. "Good morning!"
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐘𝐎𝐔 almost put him on his deathbed earlier than he’d expected because of your careless behavior. He’d never forget the one time he thought you were killed and thrown in a lake because of your torn clothing. Only for you to pop your head out of the lake with a bright smile on your face. Jushiro didn’t give you a chance to speak before he pulled you out of the lake and dragged you home by your ear while chewing you out.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐈𝐍 order to drain your battery, the man sends you out on tasks and (easy) missions so you can tire yourself out. Once you've completed all the tasks he gave you, you’ll often come into his office and sit on his lap until he’s done with this paperwork. With his hand often rubbing your back and ears.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐘𝐎𝐔 stretched your muscles for the final time as you headed to your husband’s office. For the first time in a while, you were extremely exhausted. Once you reached the office door, you didn’t even bother to knock. Jushiro watched as you kicked the sandals off your feet and made your way towards him. Before he could say a word, you immediately plopped yourself down on his lap, your face snuggling into his neck. Jushiro chuckled and began to rub your back, putting you at ease. "I’m guessing you’re tired?" He grinned at your tired state, which made you nod. "Mhmm, let’s cuddle."
𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐉𝐈 𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐀𝐊𝐎.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐀𝐍 absolute love bug! You were both obsessed with each other. Shinji talked about you nonstop to his lieutenant, Hinamori, who only nodded her head and agreed with everything he said.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐉𝐈 loved you dearly. But if he had the chance to strap you down to a table for a day, then you better believe he would. Everyone knew you gave your husband an unnecessary amount of gray hair from the way you acted. Your hyperactivity would get so out of control that Shinji would throw you over his shoulder and walk away from the scene. But no one has seen the man snap on you before because he couldn’t. Shinji knew that you meant no harm, and besides, there’s nothing wrong with having a little fun.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐄 never fails to make you blush because of his flirty attitude; the sexual jokes he makes towards you make you bury your face in your hands. Because you knew he was going to give you a hard time the following night. He’s the only one who was able to make you blush. — "Hey, babe, I got this tongue piercing for a reason. Wanna watch me use it?" "S–Shinji!"
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐄 didn’t mind the fact that you had dog ears and a tail. He would often tease you by dragging his hands slowly down the tail, knowing it was one of the most sensitive parts of your body. Plus, he could have an advantage over you when you start to act bratty. With a simple tug of your tail, your behavior would straighten up immediately.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ "𝐃𝐎𝐍'𝐓 give me that shit." Shinji's grip on the tail tightened as you tried your hardest to hold yourself up. You knew it was wrong to act like a brat in front of all those people, but you didn’t care at the moment; it was all Shinji’s fault. "Where’s that attitude now?" He used his index finger to tilt your head up, and once Shinji saw your glossy eyes,he immediately rolled his eyes. You always tried this sh*t when you got in trouble; it worked the first three times, but he was over that now. "Don’t give me those damn eyes; you knew you were wrong." His dark brown eyes glared into your soft e/c ones. Your h/c ears are flat on the top of your head.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ "𝐈 said sorry. I didn’t mean it." You muttered loud enough for him to hear. Shinji's glare deepened; your puppy eyes and scared look weren’t fooling him this time. He knew it was all an act you put on, so he would go easy on you when he was punishing you. "You said sorry? You didn’t mean it? I told you about this before we left, and you still went and acted out!" Shinji gritted his teeth at you. From the look in his eyes and the way his hand was now wrapping around your neck, he was getting more angry. Shinji let out a long sigh before removing his hand from your tail to pinch the bridge of his nose. Once you both make it back home, he’s going to demolish that attitude of yours. "I’ll deal with you later, understand?" His grip on your neck loosened as you nodded your head quickly. "Yes sir!"
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 alone, you would put your chin on his lap (near his private area) with your tail wagging and an "innocent" smile on your face, and he almost lost it. It takes an entire army to hold him back from pouncing on you and turning you inside out in his office.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐉𝐈 groaned when you pulled on his bottom lip after the make-out session; the paperwork on his desk was now put to the side as his attention focused on you. From the moment you stepped into his office, his eyes concentrated on you and you only. His eyes watched as you slid down to the floor, now on your knees. Your chin now rested on his lap. He knew you didn’t want head-pats; you wanted something else. "I’m sorry, pup, but we can’t do it now." He gave your chin a light scratch as you pouted, your ears flattening with you. "Please, I want it now." You batted your lashes at him while he suffered from a heavy debate in his head. "Fine, but don’t make a mess like you did last time." His hand made its way to your hair and gave it a light tug with a whine leaving past your lips. "I–I won’t."
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐓𝐇𝐄 perfect shoulder to lean on when you’re scared. Because you have sensitive ears and a fear of loud noises, he would always put noise-cancelling headphones over your ears and hold you against his chest while rubbing your back slowly.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐓𝐇𝐄 pain in Shinji’s chest caused him to wake up instantly; something wasn’t right. He looked over to see you curled into his side while whimpering, the tears in your eyes making him go into protective mode. "What’s wrong, baby?" He used his thumb to wipe away the tears from your eyes as the crackle of thunder caused you to sob and curl into his side even more. It took him a moment before the lightbulb went off in his head. You were terrified of lightning and thunder. He sat up from the futon while the thunder made another loud sound, causing you to yelp and bury your face in the pillow next to you. Shinji searched through the drawer for the familiar item until it came into his vision—the noise-canceling headphones he brought just for you. He sat back down next to you with his hand brushing the h/c hair from your face. "Look at me, baby; it’s all going to be okay. I’m right here." He cooed in your ear as your tail started to unwrap itself from your leg. Once he saw that your grip on the pillow had loosened, he removed the object from your face and placed the headphones over your ears. You slowly opened your tear-stung eyes to look at your husband, who smiled softly and stroked your cheek. His eyes shined with nothing but reassurance and love. He wiped away the final tears before kissing your lips. You sniffled for the last time as you buried your face into his chest, sleeping peacefully for the rest of the night.
𝐈𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐎 𝐊𝐔𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐀𝐊𝐈.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄 wondered how Ichigo was able to keep you tame and calm in public, considering you were the same person who jumped from desk to desk every morning. But the secret was gum; once he thinks you’re getting out of control, he’ll pull out a stick. Which makes you calm down in a second. One minute you’re jumping all over the place, and the next minute you’re nuzzling your cheek into his arm while chewing on the piece of gum.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐈𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐎 has to tie a leash around your waist when you both go out in public. The number of times he lost you in public places was ridiculous! He not only had a leash on you, but he also had a tracker in the necklace he brought you for your birthday. The last time he lost you, a hollow attacked and almost killed you, and he sure as hell wasn’t going to let that happen again.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐓𝐇𝐄 teenager thought he was going crazy when his clothes started to go missing all of a sudden! Only to find out you had an entire stash in your closet, he took back most of his clothes. But let you pick out the ones you wanted to keep, even if they were his favorite.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ "𝐈 want this one! Can I keep it, Ichi?" You held up the white cardigan as Ichigo nodded his head. "Sure, but don’t get it dirty." He squeezed your cheek and proceeded to place the rest of his shirts in the suitcase. Yes, a suitcase. Ichigo didn’t know you stole an entire collection of his clothes. He didn’t notice until the only thing he had left was a shirt he hadn’t worn since he was fifteen. "You can’t keep that." Ichigo took the white shirt from your grasp as you pouted with your ears flattened. "Ichiiii, you can’t even fit that shirt anymore." You whined at your boyfriend, who sighed before throwing the shirt at you. Your whining was the only reason you got your way. "Next time, ask before you take my entire closet and run off with it." He lightly scolded you and pinched your cheek while you giggled nervously, knowing damn well you were going to do it again.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐁𝐄𝐂𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐄 of your clingy behavior, he would buy every strawberry plushie that came into his sight. You knew Ichigo couldn’t be by your side every second of the day, but that didn’t stop you from whining and crying for him. He would often check his phone to see over a dozen voice messages you recorded about how much you loved and missed him. The pictures of you pouting with the plushie pressed to your cheek made him want to drop everything and return to you.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐒 most of your free time watching the annual dog competitions with you. At first, he didn’t know why you were so addicted to the shows; his first thought was because you’re part dog. But once he sat down and watched the show, it was quite interesting. You would laugh at him when he scoffed at the bigger dog and won over the small dog.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐇𝐄 didn’t play when it came to your grades; he wants the absolute best for you and refuses to let you drop out. Since you both were in the same classes, he’d help you out with your work every time you called him. And he would spend the night at your house to make sure you completed your homework and did not slack off to watch puppy competitions. Every time you get a question right, he’ll give you a kiss and a treat <3.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐘𝐎𝐔 bit your lip at your boyfriend, who only wore a pair of grey sweatpants with a black tank top. From the moment you saw him, your tail started to wag at an immediate pace. You tried to focus your attention back on your homework, but his muscles were practically staring back at you. You snapped out of your thoughts when Ichigo tapped the paper with the pencil. "What’s the answer to number six?" He pointed the pencil at the sheet. "E–Erm, c?" You scratched your cheek as Ichigo nodded his head and said, "That was correct. Good job, baby." He used his index finger to pull your chin closer to his lips. The faint taste of the strawberry cake still lingering on his lips made you go federal; you wanted him so bad that your tail was now wagging faster than ever.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐓𝐇𝐄 only thing Ichigo disliked about you was your brattiness. He'd have to admit that he did take you everywhere and spoil you rotten. He didn’t care about the attitude you’d gain when you were both alone. But if you’re in public, then it’s a different story. He hated the way you would whine and stomp your foot at him when he said no, but he wasn’t like that partner who was afraid of putting the other in their place. Once you push his buttons too much, he’ll take you to the nearest alleyway or bathroom to straighten you and your little attitude out.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ "𝐘𝐎𝐔’𝐕𝐄 really been pissing me off today." Ichigo frowned and took your face into his hand, the pout never leaving your lips. You rolled your eyes at him and steered your eyes in another direction, which pissed Ichigo off even more. All this because he refused to buy you those nasty chocolate-covered bananas. You could feel the anger seething off him, and honestly, you didn’t give a damn. "Hmph, I don’t care." You shrugged your shoulders at your boyfriend, whose eyes widened for a second before going back to normal. Who were we talking to? Because it surely wasn’t him. "Repeat that for me." He removed his hand from your face and slid it down to your neck, his thumb pressing down on the sensitive part. You held back your whimpers and stood up straight, since you were starting to lean onto his chest. "I—I said I don’t—ah" You whimpered when his hand made its way down to your tail, giving it a gentle stroke.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐘𝐎𝐔 started to pant when Ichigo used his hands to massage the sensitive parts of your body; if it weren’t for the wall holding you up, you would’ve been on your knees right now. Ichigo smirked. For someone who talked a lot of shit, it was extremely easy to put you back in your place. His hand that was on your tail was now trailing up to your waist. "What happened, baby?" He teased. Ichigo chuckled at how you attempted to speak, only for his grip on your neck to tighten. He leaned down to give your lips a kiss; his soft lips moving in sync with your plump ones felt like a dream. "Mhmm..." You pulled on his shirt when he started to suck on your tongue; the foreign feeling had you begging for more. His free hand wandered around your body and groped everything he touched. Your body belonged to him, so he could do whatever he pleased with it. After pulling away, he took his hand from your neck while a thick string of saliva connected you to him. You quickly looked away. Feeling ashamed at the fact that you folded for him within seconds. "I'm sorry, Ichi. I didn’t mean to act like that out there." You stared at your shows like they were the most important things in the world. Ichigo chuckled and pulled you closer by your waist, saying, "It’s fine. But just know I went easy on you because we were in a public restroom. Next time, I’ll make sure you forget how to walk."
𝐓𝐎𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐎 𝐇𝐈𝐓𝐒𝐔𝐆𝐀𝐘𝐀.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐘𝐎𝐔 and Toshiro were complete opposites. You were so smiley and happy all the time, while he was more of a serious and assertive guy. Multiple people were surprised when they saw Toshiro holding hands with you. How did Toshiro fall for you? The world may never know. You both were happy, and that's all that matters.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐁𝐄𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄 you both go out into the public, he has to warn you to act right, or else he’s going to bring out the sandal. Plus, he can’t go three seconds without scolding you. But if you act right, he’ll give you head pats and buy you food.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐖𝐇𝐎𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 said that Toshiro wouldn’t follow you up on your shenanigans was completely wrong. This guy played board games with you, danced in the rain with you, and occasionally challenged you to a staring contest once in a while. To prove to you that he can last longer than you.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ "𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 are they doing?" Hinamori tilted her head at the couple, who sat crisscross on the ground while staring into each other's souls. "They’re having a staring contest. They’ve been there for ten minutes now." Rangiku whispered and took a sip of her drink. Hinamori watched as your ears perked up and your tail wagged, signaling you were excited, while Toshiro felt his eyes water at your adorable behavior. His eyes widened and his heart swelled when he saw your pupils dilate more and more. You didn’t think of this as a staring contest; you just wanted to stare at your lover. Toshiro’s watery eyes finally closed. "See! I told you that you couldn’t do it!" Rangiku laughed at Toshiro, who glared at her for a moment before turning his attention back to you. "Does that mean I win?" You innocently blinked your eyes at your boyfriend, and Toshiro felt his cheeks heat up at your angelic aura. Once you gave him that smile and head tilt, he would stutter every time. "Yes, you’ve won, darling."
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐓𝐎𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐎 didn’t mind that you were so lovey-dovey and affectionate with him. He loved waking up to your morning kisses and hugs. He couldn’t push you away, because if he did, then you'd keep coming back.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐒 the place of the adult in the relationship, even though you are older than him. He cleans your mouth after you’re done eating, takes baths with you (so you wouldn’t get distracted or fall asleep in the water), and so much more. Not to mention that he’s extremely overprotective of you, especially when someone yells at you. Once your ears flattened, it was a signal for him to unsheathe his sword. It takes you, Rangiku, and Hinamori to hold him back from releasing the wrath of the person who yelled at you; no matter who he was going against, he was always going to take up your cause. — "Captain! Y/N said it’s not a big deal!" "I’m going to turn that asshole into ice sickles!"
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐔𝐒𝐄𝐃 to let you hang around Rangiku or Shunsui when he wasn’t around. The last time that happened, you came to him drunk off your ass with a bottle in your hand. He wanted to destroy the two, but his mind told him otherwise; you were his focus, not them. But God wanted to destroy them.
♡ 𓈒 𓈒 ୨୧ 𝐓𝐎𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐎 couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He watched as you stumbled around the room with a bottle in your hand while barking loudly. "T–Toshi!" You hiccuped and waved at your boyfriend drunkenly while Toshiro snatched the bottle from your hand and put it in the trash. He then grabbed your arms and began to lay you down on the futon, his mind traveling off to how he was going to punish Rangiku. "T-Toshi, I love you. You’re the best boyfriend ever. You make me so happy." Your voice slurred slightly, making Toshiro’s cheeks turn pink. Even when you’re drunk, your love for him is louder than ever. "I love you too; now take this and go to sleep. I have some business to handle." He gave your lips and forehead a kiss. Rangiku is most definitely never going to hear the end of it.
