For the past few days I've been reading Transformers' fanfiction. Am I in the fandom? No. Was I reading about Optimus and Megatron? Yes. Should I be Ashamed? Yeah, probably, but that's not the point.
The point here is that I learned that in the past, Optimus was Orion Pax and Megatron was D-16. And then I remembered an episode of an animated serie I used to watch in Cartoon Network where Optimus lost his memory and he seemed to get along with Megatron and belive what he said. Then I think I stopped watching, either because they always repeated the same episodios or because I got bored, I don't know.
I'm also confused about Megatron's past. D-16 was a miner. But I also read about him as a gladiator and the name Megatronus instead of Megatron is also thrown around.
Orion Pax was an archivist I believe, which I understand as a sort of librarian.
Where am I going to with all of this?
You'll see, I want to know if there is a fic where, when Optimus loses his memory and becomes Orion Pax, he is a complete and absolute menace. He is still an archivist, sure, but he has a Past, he has Lore. He was not the cool and collected hero and soldier he is today and he was not some quite and shy young mech. No, he was chaotic. Trouble followed him and when it didn't, he went looking for it.
I can't decide if I want the past friendship with Megatron to be a part of whatever this is or not.
But lets say it isn't, let's say that Megatron is just as confused as everyone else.
And what about Autobots and Decepticons? Easy, Orion would have no idea what those are. And he wouldn't care. He would only care about how cool flying seemed and then be absolutly exited about being able to do it himself (assuming he can, I don't even know where in the saga I am putting this). He'd want to race the Autobots in the ground and the Decepticons in the sky.
BUT he would not trust any of them. Why? Because they all kept calling him Optimus Prime, insisting that's who he was. Prime! As if he'd ever become part of that system!
In the meantime, he is balancing the despair of the news about the destruction of his home world and everyone he knew with the excitement of a new world plus the loneliness and confusion that came with the later.
For Megatron, you'd think things were ideal since his greatest obstacle was out of the way, right?
Wrong!
There was one thing Megatron could have never imagined, never expected or even suspected, and that's just how much the other Decepticons liked Orion Pax.
Orion was funny, he liked to spar and he fought dirty. He made jokes and teased them and he was not afraid of any of them. He was not stupid and understood that all of the Decepticons had a past, they all had done horrible things, but for some reason that wasn't a deterrent. Sure, the mech didn't trust them (and those trust issues should be adressed, but the Decepticons were no better so...), but Orion was always up for a good sparring session or just fooling around. The mech was also odly well-read in the weirdest of topics from history to medicine, mythology and weird facts about games from Kaon (why? and how?).
And Orion was that odd kind of friend that didn't tell you shit about himself, but for some reason you wanted to tell him everything about you.
And what about the Autobots?
Well, they obviously missed their leader, but the ones that really had a problem were the younger ones because why was Opt-Orion so friendly with the Decepticons but didn't even speak with them?
Orion was avoiding them and he would keep that up until those Autobots stopped calling him Optimus.
Orion would go here and there and some times help the Autobots and others the Decepticons if any of them were in actual troubles because he was still a good person who cared about others while trying not to do so.
Just... Orion Pax accidentally uniting the remaining Cybertronians by being his lovable, reckles, and complicated self.
And there is megop, apparently...
Headcanon Time
Pitch is a dramatic bastard who knows how to bluff his way out of a bad situation. His 'defeat' in the end was totally faked
Hear me out
Onyx, earlier during the tooth palace scene, must've sensed the fear Pitch felt when the boomerang was thrown at him. What was he reaction? Turning on him? No. Getting him out of there. The nightmares also came to check on him after Jack blasted him out of the sky. They show no signs of being fickle enough to turn against him.
Also, the nightmares are not really threats (whole diff headcanon), and they dragged him to his,,,,, home. Like telling a teenager to go to their room. 'oh no, not the place I prefer to be anyway.' So man got dragged into his lair, by his own almost harmless minions who do care about him, conveniently right when the guardians have him truely defeated.
Here's what really happened.
Pitch, apon Jack saying "Looks like it's your fear they smell." Has a realization that he has no more cards up his sleeve. He's lost. He gets a strike of panic because oh shit he's lost. Considering Sandy's treatment of him earlier and Tooth punching him, the guardians would not treat his defeat kindly.
So he runs, his nightmares, as they do, pick up that he's genuinely afraid and are like "oh shit, daddy's in actual trouble, we gotta get him home." So that's what they do.
Pitch, being his clever self, feigns struggling and fear of his nightmares to convince the guardians that there's no need to continue to go after him or worry about him, because he's getting his due punishment. He closes the lair behind him, both as a way of reaffirming that assumption, and to obviously keep the guardians from coming after him.
I mean come on, he obviously controls the entrances to his lair, there's no way Jack wouldn't have found that entrance before in his 300 yesrs, so Pitch made it specifically to lure Jack in.
Obviously, the guardians are shoot first, ask questions later kind of people. They function based on first assumptions and haven't been known to think particularly critically. Pitch bets on this and makes a plan around it multiple times. He knows how to take advantage of it.
He's a dramatic little shit, and a kid who's very good at worming their way out of trouble.
I want to ramble about Doctor Who. I've only seen the last one with the 15th Doctor, so I don't get references to the previous ones, but I want to talk about it!
Now, is Ruby human? Because I think most of the fandom would disagree. In the latest chapter (the Legend of Ruby), it was mentioned that it is posible to pass as a human even when someone is testing your DNA.
Also, who says the person who left Ruby at Ruby Road was actually Ruby's parent? They could be a herald.
Because it is becoming increasingly repetitive that Ruby simply doesn't die.
In the end of 73 yards, Ruby seemingly went back to the point when she broke the fae-ring, but how much of it was the ring?
Ruby said that she'd been WAITING for the woman who turned up to be herself. She waits. Who else in the series is waiting? And what if Ruby's neighbour was there to watch her?
I think it'd be interesting for Ruby to be somehow related to Sutekh or maybe be some kind of sub-creation if them.
It's like Ruby is somehow related to Sutekh being able to pass and reach this world.
Maybe what I'm saying is something that someone else already said or maybe is pure nonsense, but Ruby "died" 3 times already.
With Maestro, Ruby should've been robbed of all music, but somehow the song at her birth is ingrained in her in a way a deity can't take away from her. So maybe a mayor deity put it there?
Then Ruby gets shot and yes, she got revived by the ambulance, but it was a bit too long before they got to hack the system and get it to help Ruby.
And then she died and went back in time in a loop, but how do we know it was because of the fae-ring and not because of Ruby herself? What if the fae-ring only traped her in a specific time-space (and that's why it didn't snow) , but it was Ruby the one who couldn't die?
*Person A does unhinged shit.*
Person B: "How in the fuck does your brain work?"
Person A: "Against my will."
Soulmates au,, Tom tries to kill his soulmate but his soulmate is suicidal so every time Tom get close to kill him, Sev would smirk and Tom's urge to kill him would disappear because Sev seems happy and he doesn't want him to be, and Sev would scowl at him for not killing him and it would be Tom's turn to smirk. Like Severus would constantly try to anger him and mock him for their soulmate bond and Tom would fall for it for a sec but then be like "oh no darling, you're stuck with me. This punishment is worse for you than it is for me."
Thinking about alcohol and alcohol tolerance in my lotr headcanons.
Cause like, okay weakest drinkers? Dwarves. Such a low alcohol tolerance, their drinks are like 0.5 to 0.7. The real hard hitters to them is like 1.2, and then you’re getting bold with it. During their journey, one of the dwarves offered Bilbo a sip of dwarven mead, and it was like fucking water to him, like he somehow got less drunk than he was before.
Humans, we’re humans. Just, average tolerance
Elves? Mainly wine drinkers this lot, and they have fairly high tolerance. Their beverages are usually like, 60%. In reality elves have like, average tolerance, they just have had like thousands of years to build it up.
Now Hobbits? Insane little dudes. Their drinks are actually lethal to most other species. Just as big of drinkers as they are eaters, mainly cause if they drink anything that’s not tailor made for hobbits, they will have to drink a lot to feel like anything. They have livers of steel this lot.
And orcs? Orcs don’t drink. Kay they working that none to five, they got jobs, they busy. They’re huge stoner bros, but alcohol is not their thing.
You know what I haven't seen yet? A scene where someone has to tell something to Snape, something he won't like, and Snape listens stonefaced while sharpening two knives against each other.
He is not even looking at the other person while the unlucky messenger is talking, sweating bullets, watching the glint of the knives.
And then, whatever that person was there to say is finally said and Snape freezes, knives still in his hands. He slowly turns and lifts an eyebrows, daring the poor idiot to repeat themselves.
So they flee, or faint or start babling something.
It's just... I've encountered a post of Snape using cooking skills in potions while half-asleep (which gave me this idea), but I've never read this.
So...
Does anyone know about a retelling of the Minotaur myth where Ariadne pretends to be in love with Theseus so he'll lead her into the labyrinth where she'll be able to rescue her brother?
Once again thinking about: "He was only fifteen-" "I'm fifteen!"
Imagine being Harry and finding out that one of the worst people you've ever met who does nothing but belittle and degrade you, who has become the antithesis of everything you aspire to be, is the victim of the exact person you believed to be the gold standard.
Because for years, everyone was telling Harry one thing about James while Snape was saying another and, for years, Harry had been comfortable believing Snape was the one who was wrong.
So, imagine being Harry and all you have left of your parents is the memories people choose to share with you, so you take all the scraps and make this Frankenstein idealistic version of your parents because, for a moment, it makes you feel like you actually know them.
And then, just in case you forgot, reality reminds you in maybe the worst way that you don't know these people at all.
Hi. Does anyone know of a fic where Snape for x-reason uses the sword of Godric Gryffindor or is said to have Gryffindor traits in front of a good amount of people?
I just want chaos.
The idea of the hat considering your traits, but also the ones you most value is something I like. There are lots of opinions about Snape and the marauders and I think they are all right and wrong at the same time. All of them did a lot of shity things and some had more chances in life than others. Snape, in my opinion, had it hard but also burned many bridges with his own hands.
Ultimately I find his character more interesting, so is there any fic like this? I like Bamf!Snape. I don't mind pairings all that much but I'd rather for it not to be with Lily. It's nothing against her, simply don't really like the pairing.
Just, some people realising their own bias and misconceptions and freaking out. I can also picture Snape internaly freaking out and watching the sword/sorting hat as if it had personally insulted him (the hat probably did).
I am looking for a Percy Jackson fanfiction. I read the 5 first books a long while ago, so I don't remember much. But I am looking for a fic that has Dionysus as some kind of uncle/father figure to all demigods.
Now, I know this is fully ooc, but he is the one with the best chances of understanding what it is like to be in their place because he used to be a demigod himself. I read the book of Percy Jackson narrating the stories of the Olympians and there he explained how Dionysus mother was a demigod, daughter of Poseidon, I think.
Hera was responsible for a lot of shit that happened to him afterwards.
He would know what it's like to be mortal, to have friends and a loving and very HUMAN family and have it taken away from you for something that was not your doing.
Then, he married Ariadna, a princess and mortal made immortal so they'd be able to be together. That's when his dislike for demigods started, but really, I don't think that to be enough for him to hate them, not really.
And he cares about his own children, he showed it. I think he has only one set of children too. And being at camp means that he is probably the most present parent of every Olympian.
My point, I want a fic where he clearly is angry at the rest of the Olympians for their treatment to their children but tries so much to hide it, where he is sick and fed up of watching for centuries how they play with kids like they were toys, how they abandon them to survive in a world that essentially wants them dead. I want him to be sick of watching them pay for the broken plates they didn't even touch, of the unfair punishments and the times when one of them is killed or cursed by one Olympian because of what other Olympian too powerful to be attacked did (*cof*Zeus and Hera*cofcof*).
I want him there, not knowing what to do to help, wanting to help but being unable to. He was forbidden of drinking wine by Zeus, he was basically expelled from his own domain. How much influence over him does Zeus then posses?
I want Dionysus angry and furious with the Olympians.
I want him resenting Quiron too, maybe, for sending demigod after demigod on quests. Maybe just at the beginning, until they reach some understanding. Until they get each other a bit better, until they understand that they are on the same page.
I want Dionysus worried and annoyed and doing his best to keep the other kids at arms length but unable to.
I want him trying so desperately to pretend that ge doesn't care and doesn't want to be there because he is worried, worried for the kids that go on quests, worried for those who leave camp after summer, for those who haven't reached camp yet, for those who just arrived and just can't understand yet what is happening and have no idea... They think the worst is over but it isn't, it never is...
And he is worried, over all, that if any of the others ever finds out just how much he actually cares, they will take everything away from him.
