autistic denki headcanons!

he's very bad at managing his volume when he speaks, he's always either too loud or way too quiet, at this point most of class 1-a has slowly gotten used to his loudness though

most of his sensory issues come with textures, especially food. he still eats things that a young child would because he just never got used to more complex foods with lots of different textures and flavors

denki loves weighted blankets, especially the really heavy, big ones that look like they could crush him

he has some stims he sticks to like flapping his hands or chewing on things like chewelry, but he usually just does whatever he feels like doing at the moment that seems right. can't predict it with him. he has a lot of vocal stims and echolalia

his echolalia is mostly phrases he finds funny or interesting, especially when it fits the current situation. if ur in a car w/ him you'll hear "road work ahead? uh yeah, i sure hope it does" like at least 3 times

kaminari has a surprising amount of meltdowns. they're not exactly common but they happen enough to be noticably frequent.

he feels like he has to be the happy ray of sunshine all the time so he usually bottles up all his problems/stress/sensory issues which leads to the more frequent meltdowns

kirishima tries to be a good allistic ally, he gets a little confused sometimes but denki could talk for hours about autism so he totally has someone to explain lol this post is getting long so i'll post a part 2!!!

anyway, aside from that, yes I understand there's deep elements in steven universe. I understand that..but also when you care more about the political implications of a cartoon than you do about the wider plot, characters, and music, that's kind of a problem. you've proven it yourself by treating me like I hate civil rights and gay people just because I'm like "it's a kids show it's not that deep"

go outside, touch some grass, and realize that just because someone makes a silly joke about Steven universe being a cartoon and not a political campaign is NOT, in any way, anti-intellectualism.

Your children's show unfortunately has the absolute wrong take on tackling fascism. Yeah the power of friendship angle is showing a dismal lack of understanding of Marxist theory or even intro-level Leninism.
