I Forgot I Have To Be Active Here So Here’s My Twitter Tutorial On How To Draw Folds I Made A While

I forgot I have to be active here so here’s my Twitter tutorial on how to draw folds I made a while back to help a friend!

A piece of cloth teaching you how to draw cloth folds of different material. Each picture depicts two arms in the same material - one thin arm and one fat arm.
THICK clothes only have a few folds! Sometimes a bump is all it takes to suggest a fold for THICK stuff. Examples are sweaters, hoodies, wool, fleece, and denim
THIN clothes have a lot of folds and bumps! Thin stuff usually has more lines that wrap around what's underneath. Examples are rayon, cotton, and crepe
SMOOTH stuff have "squiggly" folds. Smooth cloth folds tend to "loop" back to where they start. Examples are silk, velvet, Satin, Bamboo cotton, and most luxurious stuff
SOFT clothes have round folds. Unlike smooth stuff, soft stuff doesn't have many "squiggles" or solid lines in between. Examples are down jackets, fur, fleece, washed linen, and polyester
STIFF clothes have angular folds! Most folds tend to look triangular - assuming they even fold at all! Examples are raincoats, New denim, canvas, and suits
PS I have avoided talking about loose vs tight clothing since whatever is loose on one person (A shows a thin arm in a baggy yellow sleeve) might not be as loose on a different person (B depicts the same sleeve which comfortably fits around the fat arm). However it's still important to learn about these type of things.
Person asks, "So uh... what happens if the clothes are Smooth and Thin, or Thick and Soft?" The answer is DO BOTH! Top right shows a full woman in a dress that has a Smooth skirt and a Stiff top half. Even though it's one dress, one part is more Smooth while the other part is more Stiff. There are more examples but don't forget to study hard and have fun!

Beetlejuice has literally been stalking Lydia for years. He's intentionally off-putting and gross. He openly enjoys freaking her out. It's his way of showing affection. He's like a horror Pepe Le Pew.

They refer to him as being a demon at least 3 times in BJBJ, as well as the fact that he had a satanic first wedding and cannot make the sign of the cross without setting himself on fire. He's evil. Funny, and sometimes helpful, but still evil. Doesn't mean he can't fall in love.

Beetlejuice Has Literally Been Stalking Lydia For Years. He's Intentionally Off-putting And Gross. He

No, movie Lydia isn't into him. Why would she be? He's always terrorizing her and trying to coerce her into marriage, presumably for selfish reasons. Plus he's covered in bugs and spews guts and fluids wherever he goes. But that doesn't mean that they can't both change eventually. Hell, it's still a better love story than Twilight or (gag) Rory/Lydia.

So there is no "Is this particular scenario okay and not problematic?" with Beetlejuice. You're either on board with him being a literal monster, or you're not. You have to acknowledge it, accept it, and still be into it to be a Beetlebabe who isn't trying to make BJ into something nicer and cleaner than he is. We like it because monsters and goth girls are fun, not because it's in any way related to real life. Beetlejuice is about as far away from real life as you can get.

Sometimes you need a break from reality, morality, and acceptability. It's healthy to take a break from all that societal pressure. The reason horror and subversive comedy is popular is because it gives us some much needed freedom from the limited ways we're always expected to feel and behave.

Sources for Somerton's Plagiarism from Hbomberguy's Video (as much as I could get)

I went back through Harry's video, focused entirely on the sources James Somerton pulled from in the hopes of creating as much of a comprehensive list as I could--though my Google-Fu is not very strong. I did however find something I thought was forever lost and that made me very happy--specifically the magazine Midlands Zone containing the column by Steven Spinks that Harry poignantly used as an illustration of gay erasure... while Somerton uses it to sound like HE is waxing remorseful about the very subject.

This is not a complete list, I'm sure. For one thing, I was only able to attempt to pull sources that Harry himself mentioned in the video. Surely there's so very much more out there. I expect there to be a great deal more internet archeology to unearth just how much writing and culture Somerton has stolen like he's the British Museum of Natural History but for gay people.

Harry's list of mentioned youtubers:

Alexander Avila - https://www.youtube.com/@alexander_avila Matt Baume - https://www.youtube.com/@MattBaume Khadija Mbowe - https://www.youtube.com/@KhadijaMbowe Lady Emily - https://www.youtube.com/@LadyEmilyPresents Shanspeare - https://www.youtube.com/@Shanspeare RickiHirsch - https://www.youtube.com/@RickiHirsch VerilyBitchie - https://www.youtube.com/@verilybitchie

Harry created a convenient playlist of videos by these and other people he wants to bring to everyone's attention.

Please give them your support.

Midlands Zone Magazine - Column by Steven Spinks

After a great deal of searching, I found an archive of the "Midlands Zone" magazine, where you can read through past issues dating all the way back to February 2014. I have also found the issue from which Somerton took Spinks' poignant discussion of gay erasure: Overall archive Specific Issue - Pages 16-17

It will not allow you to download it, but you can read it exactly as it appeared in print form.

I refrained from including certain sources.

First off only focusing on Somerton's work.

Secondly not including anything that might be visible enough to not require amplifying their voice (I cannot speak for all of those I have found links to, but journalism is frequently a thankless job).

Thirdly any source that is of a nature that is antithetical to the very existence of the queer community, such as the right-leaning source that didn't make it into Somerton's video, but Harry was able to identify as a source he had considered using.

If you feel I have missed a mentioned source--or you know of a source from material that was not covered in Harry's video--please do not hesitate to reblog with added details.

Please share this information far and wide, and please add to it if you find more material that can be positively identified and linked to the creator/writer.

Got This In My Notes For My Shuri X Namor Post And 😐

im a queer person... im just some aroace agender being shipping Shuri x Namor for the toxic shit and power imbalance thing that's going on their shaky alliance/relationship

I'd still ship Shuri x Namor if they're lesbians / gays bcs im here for the bullshitery that will go down in their "relationship"

queer people are also capable of loving unhinged shit... queerness isn't just sunshine & rainbow

and im literally so offended bcs ive enjoyed dead dove do not eat lgbtqia+ fandom contents. i even participate in writing dead dove do not eat gay & lesbian fics

the only reason i prefer Shuri x Namor over Shuri x Riri is bcs i love angst and i like to subject my favs (Shuri, in this case) to unimaginable (that being the pain of loving the fckr who murdered her mother & annihilate her nation, in Shuri's case)

let this queer person love a toxic het ship in peace pls being a fandom police isn't very nice

if u don't like the content, u can just not look at it ya know... the block button and blacklist option exist for a reason

I hate this post with a passion like why??? What was the point??? Could you like not be so goddamn passive aggressive and maybe i don't know stop watching the show if it really bothers you so much. Like I'm not saying we can't criticize shows we like but this seems less like criticism and just straight up shiting on the show and it's music

Sorry of im beating a dead horse, but the mobile game Honkai Impact has these two songs, Befall and Nightglow. They're amazing songs, and theor composition kind of gives me a vibe of how RWBY's songs could be if their writing went beyond generic good vs evil and blatant loves ballad tied to the same guitar rift every time. If RWBY's music more resembled the heart in HI's, the soundtrack could be incredible.

idk whats funnier: that tumblr got people to spend multiples of $7.99 to add fake verification checkmarks to their blog to ""make fun of"" twitter's latest fuckup, or that these checkmarks literally do not show up for mobile users and thats why i had no idea this amazing feat of opportunistic capitalism was even happening until just now
