yesterday was a pretty good day. However, I only slept 4 hours last night due to late night caffiene intake, and I am feeling it this morning. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some stuff done today and now rot in bed all day.

This was a good day. Busy, absolutely, but good nonetheless. Had a meeting with my 1st dietetics mentor, and she was absolutely the sweetest and sent me an email after our meeting about the projects she wants me to work on currently, as her mentee. Cannot wait to meet my 2nd mentor next week! Also, I got asked to go into work, so I pulled a 6.5-hour shift when I didn't need to, but I need money so it's worth it.

๐Ÿฉท What I Ate Today -

Breakfast - tuna w mayo and crackers

Lunch - iced coffee, chicken parm, noodles, one garlic bread, some asparagus

Dinner - chik fil a sandwich, medium fries, polynesian sauce

Extra - 3 more coffees in addition to the one I had at lunch

I am overconsuming caffiene so much right now, but I have been understandably so tired, so it's definitely helping me get through my days and weeks right now. I also genuinely enjoy the taste of the coffee I make, so that's always fun. I did just but a matcha set online, so hopefully, I can learn to make my own matcha and cut back on coffee for a bit.

Planned out part of my upcoming week/weekend

Studied Japanese for ~15 min

I did not accomplish almost anything school related, but that's okay because I'll have the time to do it all this weekend after work both days.

Because of how busy my schedule has been, I've been studying Japanese daily about 10 to 15 minutes a day. I'm starting to remember the hiragana characters pretty well so I've started jotting down vocabulary in a mini notebook.

This song is on repeat right now. I've always loved both their music and now that they've collabed, I'm on cloud 9. They're voices all sound so good in this song.

My Morning Routine ๐ŸŽ€

I have adopted a new morning routine because I didn't have one for honestly the last....4 months? Eeeeessshh, absolutely not good for me. I've had to tweak the routine this week, but I think I've got it down! I wake up between 5am and 6am, typically closer to 6am, but it depends on the days because Fridays, Saturdays, and some Sundays I have to leave my house by 7/7:30am. I typically have 2 hours for this routine which is perfect for me!

Current Morning Routine ๐Ÿ’—

Wake up between 5am and 6am

Drink water, use the bathroom

Make my bed

Do a quick Yoga with Adriene morning yoga workout, then put yoga mat away

Write in my guided journal

Complete a morning journal prompt of choice in my other journal

Make an Iced Coffee (medium roast Coffee k cup , one sweet n low packet, splash of French vanilla creamer)

Read 1 Chapter OR 15/20 minutes (typically self help book but honestly any book is fine for me!)

Plan out some things for the day (planner, Google Calendar, brain dump list, review todo lists for day)

Shower/Wash face (depends on if I showered night before)

Do my morning skincare! (vitamin c serum, moisturizer, sunscreen, lip balm)

Get dressed for the day (either work clothes or normal outfit depending on what i have to do)

Pack my bag(s) for the day (again, depends on the class, and if I have work then I may take a 2nd bag)

Head out (if necessary, which it typically is, except for most Sundays!)

And that's my morning routine! I love it so much, it's been so nice waking up at a set time every day and has been forcing me to be more mindful of when I go to sleep and how much caffiene I am consuming. It's so nice to have a morning routine, and I am currently working on implementing a night routinebecause I thrive with routines!

Friday was a decently good day! I managed to get some stuff done despite extremely fatigue (thank you womanhood), a 6.5 hour class, and crying my eyes out on zoom with my boyfriend (again, thank you womanhood). I hate having a functional female body, but I love being a woman? ughh, the confliction

completed Chapter 9 of Spanish on Busuu

Created an excel spreadsheet to track scholarship applications that I am going to begin working on soon

watched a short YouTube interview in Spanish for some passive/active-ish learning

took a peak at the pdf Spanish textbook I'm going to begin using

read the first chapter of Essentialism (not sure if I'm going to keep reading that for now)

caught up on hand written psyc notes from the last two lectures

created a list of things for my excel spreadsheet for hosting rent options near my campus (I am moving out of my current place soon)

made my brain dump list for the week

planned out my upcoming week loosely

contacted a financial peer mentor from my university for help learning about budgeting and saving better

๐Ÿฉท Good Things That Happened:

my position in my restaurant class barely changed, so I'm happy

met most of my prioritized goals

decorated one of my tracking journals with cute stickers

got confirmation that my friend is taking me to work on Saturday

had a really good day overall

got to zoom call my boyfriend twice

talked to my dad on the phone twice

my grade in one of my classes went up from a 79 to an 83

๐Ÿฉท What Could've Been Better:

my friend and I accidently swapped chem lab notebooks on Thursday so I wasn't able to do my report with the extension

got told I was talking to loud during my restaurant class :(

found that I'm working with a girl I'm not too fond of (due to her controlling and "authoritative" tendencies) for my restaurant class

cried on zoom with my boyfriend because this time of year is hard for me

lots of back pain and low stomach cramping

drank a soda after having a coffee and had waayyy too much energy

didn't drink enough water or eat enough protein/vitamin-richs foods

๐Ÿฉท Stuff To Do Tomorrow:

work shift 8am to 3pm

complete small Spanish study tasks

read a chapter of a book

update my brain dump list

create excel spreadsheet for renting options near the campus

look into savings template for my goals

find out how many hours I've worked to guesstimate my pay for this upcoming paycheck

Saturday is going to be a good day! I am going to make sure I have a good day on Saturday because even if bad things happen, it doesn't mean my day itself was inherently bad. Gotta stay optimistic

Saturday was good but bad. Good because work went well, and I realized I'm understanding Korean hangul a bit better now. Bad because I spent more money then I should've and ended up binging on food I bought due to lots of anxiety. Good, but bad.

I am officially back home from seeing my boyfriend and now I am big sad because I already miss him again. I was not as productive as I thought I wouldโ€™ve been while with him these last three days but Iโ€™m also not mad about my lack of stuff done. I got some quality time with him and I am so happy with that. I did do some things that would count s productivity, such as some Japanese studying and a short amount of homework. I think Iโ€™ll use this post as a motivator for some stuff I need to do with a little bit of what I did this weekend.

Kept up Duolingo daily streak

Kept up Busuu daily streak

Began working in Lesson One in Genki I

Submitted and passed Psyc Quiz for Chapter 7

Began using LingQ for Japanese

Looked into Kanji learning books

so yes, I didnโ€™t accomplish much but again, not mad. I am still happy with what I did accomplish. I also really enjoy the Genki I textbook so far, Iโ€™m still trying to figure out a good note taking technique for myself with this textbook but I really like writing down the end of lesson practice exercises. I think I want to get better at reading and writing, and listening, and my goal is to start italki lessons by December/Jaunary. If I donโ€™t start my italki lessons until a bit later tho, I wonโ€™t be upset because I know learning Japanese is a long process and something Iโ€™ll be working on for a good chunk of my life.

not much academic stuff on the list for the day but Iโ€™m trying to take it a little easier with my school things as I am exhausted from a long day of flying and airports yesterday. However, I am using today as like, a set up day for my upcoming days/week. Productive planning is basically my goal for today with a little bit of actively doing some work. I am excited to start my language tracking bullet journal and plan some stuff for working out as I am planning on going back to the gym next week. I want to start with light cardio for the first week just to get me in the habit of going and then after Iโ€™m going to step back into the weight room and start lifting light. My boyfriend got me motivated to work on my mental and physical health a bit better, so Iโ€™m definitely excited!

I feel with the exercising, it will help me manage my stress better, which I feel will lead to better mood and better food choices. Exercising alone is enough of a motivator to take my nutrition more seriously. Iโ€™m more focused on the mental and emotional health aspect of working out than I am the physical stuff, but Iโ€™m excited for all the benefits regardless. I just want to take better care of my health in every aspect, in a way that aligns with my values. Hopefully I will have better posts full of more information and stuff Iโ€™ve done during the day once I get all areas in my life back in balance with each other.

So I am trying to decide if I should start incorporating fitness classes into my routine and I'm having some trouble making a couple of decisions! So I thought I'd turn to my beautiful community and get some help!

My options are:

start yoga at home and pilates at a studio

start pilates at home and join a yoga studio

do only pilates at a studio

do only yoga at a studio

join both a yoga studio and pilates studio

there's not a lot of places that offer both pilates and yoga in my town but I really want to diversify some of my workouts so I don't get bored and can meet all of my fitness goals too!

Let me know what you guys suggest and if you can, leave some comments with your experience with pilates or yoga studios! Please keep in mind I am a plus sized girly, so I'm a little anxious about group fitness but I think it'd be super beneficial!

Tuesday was an odd day for me. Everything went fine, work went well, but for some reason by the end of the day, I was super upset about things, which was not what I had hoped to feel by the end of the day. But the day itself wasn't bad.

listened to two podcast episodes in Spanish for passive input

typed up a detailed goals sheet

attended both classes for the day

worked an ~8 hour shift

studied chemistry

hit over 10k steps

began looking at how to fit exercise into my schedule/club pilates classes I could take

my supervisor and I knocked out a large catering order on time

talked to my dad on the phone for a bit

went to my psyc class, which I typically struggle to do

Realized studying the material from chemistry was actually helping me retain the information

got semi invited to go out after work some day soon with some work friends

๐Ÿฉท What Could've Gone Better:

didn't get home until late cause work took forever

got weirdly emotional before falling asleep

super short zoom call with my boyfriend

did not study Spanish the way I wanted

was super tired all day

drank a coffee from a coffee shop on campus, and it messed up my stomach absolutely terribly (I need to stop buying coffee, my stomach can only handle the simple ones I make at home)

a co-worker was talking trash for no reason and was being super fake to my face, which was not fun because I thought him and I were cool with each other

write psyc notes from lecture

study chemistry some more

decide final decision on declaring a 2nd major

double check my class schedule for next semester ( I register for classes tomorrow!!)

study my Spanish tasks that I didn't do Tuesday

keep boosting my depop shop (woke up to my first sold item this morning!)

cook dinner after lab

yeah, there's probably more that happened on Tuesday. Both good and bad, but I have no idea what it would be. I was so tired when I got home that I just forgot everything. I've got some weird memory issues. here's to tomorrow being better, hopefully!
