so…. why did Philip suddenly turn on Evelyn and his brother?
Hollow Mind offers a few tantalizing hints in several of the background portraits that were (from what I gather) deemed a bit too grisly for Disney's taste to put front and center for the kids. The most pertinent one would be this:
By all indications, upon discovering that Evelyn was pregnant with a human-witch child, Philip plunged into a madness which led him to carve glyphs into his own flesh. Incidentally, storyboards for Thanks to Them indicate that Evelyn taught Caleb glyphs. While Philip claims to have found them in innocuous locations in the same way Luz did, it's not clear whether this means he, Caleb and Evelyn were on the Boiling Isles for some time before the worst happened, or whether he simply lied about where he learned them and in fact copied them from his brother.
When he saw what his brother had done to himself, Caleb tried to placate him, but Philip drew a knife and the two fought, with Caleb eventually succumbing. Evelyn attacked Philip, but he was able to escape. By all indications, Evelyn was an ancestor of the Clawthorne family, making their descendants some small fraction human. This has a curious impact on the next question: > what is a Grimwalker? how does that work?
A grimwalker, as Belos says, is "a better version of an old friend." The ingredient to focus on in particular is "bone of ORTET" - in horticulture, an ortet is the parent plant from which clones are generated. I think in this context, the implication is that grimwalkers are clones of a specific person - in this case, created from Caleb Wittebane using his bones.
In Elsewhere and Elsewhen, we get a glimpse of an earlier laboratory and the bones upon the table, directly beneath papers which echo the illustrations in the book, appear humanoid.
The fun part is that if Hunter is a clone created from Caleb's remains, and Caleb's offspring is part of the Clawthorne family, then Hunter and Eda are technically related. > what is Hootys backstory? was he always part of the house?? did Eda just FIND the house one day??? We've never heard a full story for Hooty, but there are some hints Dana Terrace has dropped which paint an unclear, but curious picture. First, the eye on the door is, in fact, the Titan's own missing eye. Second, the little worm coming out of his empty eye socket may very well be Hooty. Therefore, it's not unreasonable to conclude that Hooty is a form of demonic tapeworm which infested the Titan himself and gained some sort of power from doing so. Dana said last night at Weebcon that Hooty and the Titan have a symbiotic relationship, and that Hooty is some form of parasitic worm, so this seems to be about as confirmed as we can hope for at this point in time. The tower adjacent to the house used to belong to Dell Clawthorne as he mentions in the B side of Elsewhere and Elsewhen. My theory, given the eccentric nature of the house, is that Eda constructed it herself next to the tower using magic. That might explain why no two parts of it seem to fully convene into a coherent whole. It does seem like Philip must have built the portal, given the detailed images of it in his diary and the way he was able to reconstruct the portal when it was destroyed, but it's never been clear how he managed to lose it in order for Eda to find it in her backyard.
why was Tibbles in the "bye" scene? Tibbles sucks
Ah, blame Luz. She's always willing to try seeing the better in people. The fact that she was unwilling to try giving Belos a second chance really says something for how far he went beyond the moral event horizon...
Why was Liliths hair cut?
In Keeping Up A-fear-ances, Gwen mentions Lilith dyed her hair to make it look the way it does throughout the first season. After she takes on half of Eda's curse, her hair begins to gray as accelerated aging takes hold on her as well. My theory is that she cuts her hair in order to make it easier to re-dye it her natural color.
so does King know more about his future now? is their information on Titans all flawed due to Belos?
I suspect King doesn't know much more than we do. Knowledge about the titans seems to be pretty scant. The Titan Trappers may know more, but I think it was implied that a chunk of their knowledge was from the Collector communicating with them, and he indicates that they "started acting weird" at some point. My gut feeling is that many generations passed and the Collector wasn't really paying attention to which Titan Trappers he was speaking to at any given time, so the process of "getting all weird" probably involves them having made the Collector their deity and bad actors in this religion twisting it to their own ends. Looking at you, Bill. But it's possible the Collector was able to give King better information that we, the audience, weren't able to see because of the time constraints. I've often wondered about the development of King's powers, myself. How does he figure out what his glyphs look like? Is it an internal feeling, or can he actually draw them and then imbue them so that any drawing becomes a glyph? We may never know.
how did Evelyn get to the human realm? what's the science behind that?
This part is very unclear, but Hollow Mind gives us this:
This seems to indicate that Caleb and Evelyn were able to use the archway in the graveyard to travel between realms, and because of the owl cork used to seal the tube of titan blood hidden in said graveyard, I suspect Evelyn had a cache of titan's blood that she used to travel between worlds. It apparently did used to be more common than it is in the modern day, but was mined out and has become scarce since then.
were the hour long specials supposed to be a season each?
The team learned of the third season's shortening between Yesterday's Lie and Follies at the Coven Day Parade, so I'm not sure what the plans were for the third season. Dana did say just yesterday that she had wanted the third season to go into the history of the previous Golden Guards, as well as have more in-depth interactions between Luz and Belos.
is King able to give Luz some of his power sometimes? or is Titan Luz a one and done?
It's a good question. I would expect that King would eventually have that power as well, but perhaps he wouldn't get that much power until many centuries down the line. It may also be the case that a titan can't give someone this sort of power without sacrificing themselves in the process. Fanfiction has explored this in any number of ways, from having some of the Titan's power continue to live on in Luz to eventually having King be able to transform her for short stints of time. Moringmark, naturally, has played with this. Anywho, that's all the answers I can substantiate! Dana has kept a lot of things to herself in the event that Disney ever lets her make more content (a graphic novel has been discussed, and Disney is currently refusing to let anyone do it).
questions I still have about The Owl House that I might find in a rewatch but would love if people just know

of course this isn't everything and they're not really articulated well tbh (happy 420 is why lol)
if you have ANY sort of answer or thought I'd love to hear it. I've heard there's a large fanfiction community and I'm already a dedicated morning mark fan.
im for sure still in mourning for what the show was supposed to be, especially since I only saw S3 last night.
idk how to tie up this post tbh. so imma just leave and go look for more merch on etsy
It isn't hard to explain why I love Vee. Best cinnamon bun demon.
Art from a few months ago that still looks good
I posted the sketch of this awhile ago and am using it as a banner

Pros of writing while exhausted:
Can't overthink things if you're dead
The creative mind merges with the conscious mind for unlimited flow
Half-asleep already so it short-circuits the moment when a great idea strikes you in bed by letting you still be at the computer
Had a dream with an amazing idea in it? Good news! You were still awake at the time, sorta!
Cons of writing while exhausted:
jts sem.ePpit anito gsh,,,,,,
Gonna wake up the next morning and ask yourself "what the HELL was that idea?"
Completely forgot that you finished the last chapter
Getting feedback and being like "yeah I can't wait to find out where I'm going with this too." :S
This was my primary inspiration for a certain scene. And yes, it's very important that Willow be fat. That's something I don't intend to change in my fic.
Beta Willow seems like she’d be the type to be fake-sneaky about her crushes on people...😏
Hunter and Willow are insufferably cute when they finally officially start dating.
Vee is the best. XD
a trip to the human realm for a flea market goes horribly wrong when everyone realizes theyve been following vee under the assumption she knows where shes going (she doesnt)
