Nope! There was no update this past Sunday! It’ll be this Sunday (which is not tomorrow but the day after for those in different times zones!)

I normally try to update every Sunday, but I’ve been incredibly busy lately so it’s every other Sunday for a little bit.

@sapphosscribe, I loved Bill dressed as The Goblin king, and I loved how much of a jerk he is.. And well, actually, I just loved the whole chapter. I'm really looking forward to this Sunday's update, because that cliffhanger ending is killing me! Summerween is driving me crazy 😵‍💫🍉

Anyway, I haven’t had much time to draw the way I’d like lately, but after wrapping up everything I had to do this week, I finally got around to making more A Human Condition art.

Kind of out of pocket question, but I had it for weeks in my head.

I know it's too early for this, but I keep seeing the so called "Eventual Smut" tag before reading a chapter. But looking at your version of Bill it's really hard for me to see happening. Not bc I want it that much tbh, but how can a human phobic being that hates every inch of human body (not just his) get suddenly interested in it? Also I know Bill's relationship with his body is less than ideal, but are there no parts at all he likes about it? Like nothing? And also what about Ford? Is there anything in him physically he finds appealing or beautiful?

Or maybe I'm thinking too much into it and the tag is not valid anymore, I guess I'm just curious, but only got around to ask this now

The “eventual smut” tag definitely still applies 😉. When we reach that point, I’ll probably be updating tags again. I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants with those so far.

Regarding the rest of your question, I don’t think Bill is ‘human phobic’ so much as he hates being reduced so vastly from the being of pure energy that he was to a mortal shell with constant needs and no magic when he’s been firmly in control of everything around him for millennia. I think he mostly hates how weak and vulnerable that makes him more than anything else. Though he’ll be getting used to being human sooner rather than later.

In terms of sexual attraction (and while tiptoeing around spoilers) I headcanon both Bill and Ford to be somewhere on the sapio/demisexual spectrum in the sense they’re more attracted to intangible qualities in other people.

Bill, the last of his species who’s been roaming the multiverse for thousands of years, I think is most attracted to beings who are outcasts or have some ‘weird’ physical aspect. Also those who are particularly cunning, hedonistic, resourceful, intelligent, or just plain chaotic.

Ford, on the other hand, I think was largely uninterested in sex for most of his early life or saw it as a clinical/biological act that humans did to reproduce. It wasn’t until he developed a strong connection for the first time with Fiddleford that it really clicked for him. There were probably trysts in the thirty years he was in the multiverse with aliens who were intelligent, open minded, or experts in their field with a passion for their work (I think little Ford would have had a huge crush on Spock ☺️) but these wouldn’t last long since he was always on the move.

Bill and Ford’s current and past intimate relationship (in my opinion) is always rooted in their deep (sometimes obsessive) attraction to each other’s personalities and life experiences. Anything physical will always come from that.

To put it metaphorically, it’s not one color in the picture Bill likes, it’s the whole painting. I personally don’t think it would matter to Bill if Ford was an Euclydian, a Klingon, or a Space Whale.

Bill doesn’t love and want Ford because he’s human, he wants him because he’s Ford. And vice versa.

I was on a PLANE rendering him, and when I tell you my ears have not been free of the aftermath 😭 this might be Bill’s karmic justice against me

Always on about my love for long hair yet I still struggle to draw it 😭 I have a lot of concept ideas for environments in mind like Bill’s and Billy’s headspace. Left brain Right Brain at it’s finest !!!

Of course !!! I had to draw the twins !!! My sibling had looked at my collection of A Human Condition fanart and started DRAGGING ME for completely blocking out Dippers face in my comic canvas 😭 He clocked me, by pointing out the obvious that I didn’t want to draw another face 😿 obviously came to redeem myself I do not like Ford’s face once so ever, so I’ll probably have to make a more updated face model chart for Ford and Stan since they are twins 💀

I want to draw the enviorment headspace between Bill and Billy now as a warmup😼 and maybe get a headstart on the grunkles 🔥🔥🔥 but for that eviorment concelt to work, I might need to rewatch a movie I mentioned before 🐺 So with that, I leave with one of my MANY favorite quotes from The Last Unicorn that fits Bill a little too well:

Seeking to prove himself, he makes a risky gamble and is ensnared by cosmic powers he doesn’t fully understand that transform him into someone he barely recognizes: causing his life, relationships, and mental health to suffer until he finally deals with the insecurity and self loathing that fueled his decisions in the first place and accepts the parts of himself he doesn’t like while his partner, who helped him get this far and was sacrificed for his ambitions, haunts the narrative.

There’s been a little discourse in A Human Condition’s comment section and a recent post by @orpheuswasmine referencing some character parallels with Bill from this song.

However.

I have NOT seen mentioned that a younger Ford Pines, with all of his grand, historic, world-changing ambitions, who was constantly striving for more accomplishments, more accolades and could never be satisfied with any of it, probably out of some misplaced sense that only by achieving great things and being an exceptional genius could he ever be loved and accepted despite his six fingers, would ALSO relate heavily to this.

Imagine Bill when he figured that out as well.

Hey, hope you're having a good day!!! I don’t think you’ve brought this up in the fic, but I’m curious. Alex Hirsch has made some comments about Bill’s gender before, like that tweet where Bill said he doesn’t identify as male or female, just as a triangle. Even though he uses he/him pronouns. (Oh! Or that one saying he counts as a goth girl, but we know that was a joke... Wasn't it?)

Anyway, what do you think about his gender? I'm really curious, especially in your story where he’s human. Any headcan is valid! Personally, I see him as agender, and I think he might be some kind of transmasc or intersex in his human form.

Bill’s gender is something I’ve actually put a lot of thought into, but haven’t had a chance to bring up in my story yet! So thanks for asking! 😁

My personal headcanon is, in Euclydia, whatever shape you have is equivalent to the human idea of gender and that’s why there’s “thousands of genders” for Euclydians because of slight differences in regards to angles and sides that create new polygons. So there’s hundreds of varieties in gender.

After seeing the multiverse, in my opinion, Bill probably adopted agender status or some form of genderfluidity and presents how he wants based on what he thinks will help him get ahead with other beings/cultures or how he’s feeling at any given time. Though, I think he’s still attached to his triangular form due his own superiority complex (and sentimentality though he’d rather die than admit it) and he tries to incorporate the shape in some way whenever he switches things up.

Now that he’s in human form, he’s still operating by those standards and is probably irritated that he can’t do more to alter his appearance like he could when he had shape-shifting abilities.

Hope this answers your question! There’ll be more later on in the story probably, but since it’s a little ways off I thought I’d go ahead and put this out!

I just really wanna say, whenever Bill gets rejected 2 thoughts go through my head.

The first is “aww he’s such a wet cat, look at him all grumpy and sad and wet.”

The other, more empathetic part of me gets all sad and goes: “His heart must shatter into a million pieces every time, and he probably has no idea how to navigate it in a healthy way cause he’s never had to understand human emotion to such depth of being nearly physical. He’s learning, and doing better, but that’s hard when he’s surrounded by people who so openly hate him. It must be why he connects with Mable so easily, she doesn’t treat him poorly for apparently no reason, she makes him feel good about himself. He wouldn’t ever want to lose that, would he? Especially after losing all his friends.”

Anyways, reading “A Human Condition” is always an emotional rollercoaster, and I live for it. I cry a little sometimes. I hope your bed is always comfy cozy and your pillow is always your preferred temperature. I’m gonna go make some doodles now.
