I’m dropping a somewhat old crossover fanfic of mine here and running lol
It’s an Undertale/Deltarune/Little Nightmares/Hollow Knight fanfic about a group of video game characters who are aware that their lives are video games (similar premise to Wreck-it Ralph) and the struggles of the player characters who go through all kinds of nonsense at the players’ whims.
This is also a crack fic chock-full of personal headcanons! Also, I’m putting it out here but I don’t promise quality lol. - Katlyn
(edit: now on AO3!)
(Here’s the Google doc I originally linked)
(Also: I’m ignoring Very Little Nightmares because I haven’t played it. Sorry to any Very Little Nightmares fans.)
In honor of the winning bugs of the Hemipteran bug race! In first place we have the loud and proud cicada, in second we have the springy and spirited leafhopper, and in third we have the threateningly named assassin bug! Here are close-ups of the bugs with their medals!
Thank you to everyone who voted! ❤️❤️❤️

i don't think people take me too serious when i say i'm legally blind. Like, guys I am legally never allowed to drive, I need assistance with a lot of stuff because I can't see. People both irl and online tend to be like "oh but you're not THAT BAD OFF" it's not a thing of whether my eyes are "that bad off" it doesn't matter, they're still blind. i still use magnifying and screen readers. i'm learning braille because my eyes are getting progressively worse and I'd like to be able to still read.
I may not be totally blind, but that's the thing, a lot of blind people AREN'T Totally blind. Blindness is a spectrum. and i don't think a lot of people realize that. And I'm just as valid in my blindness as someone on the spectrum with better eyesight than me, or someone with worse.
(This is OK to reblog. I hope that sighted people who might read this really get it into their heads that blindness is a spectrum...)
Normally I don’t approve of “reblog if you’re not an asshole” type posts because they pressure people and make them feel like if they don’t reblog, people will think they’re bigoted. But this… this is pretty great. I would like to show OP’s dad that homophobia is not cool and not the majority opinion :)
EDIT: I didn’t realize when I shared this that it’s from 2012… lol…. OP I hope you’re doing well and your dad has changed his mind.
Every url that reblog’s will be written in a book and shown to my homophobic dad.
@printerpenguin thanks for supporting Oakie!

Another art post thanks to an Oakie voter (thank you, @system-bracket !)
This is a metaphorical selves-portrait we made! Jacob is on the left, Katlyn is on the right, and our body is in the center.

Wow. Just wow. I’d heard about bees playing, but I didn’t know some of the other cool things mentioned in this video, like the fact that bees can learn by watching others. 💛🐝
This is why I don’t squash insects that happen to wander into the house. This is why I am against that sort of careless killing. Because we so drastically underestimate what insects are capable of. They are living beings, quite possibly each with their own desires and fears and inner lives. Many people forget that insects are animals. Many people forget that so are we.
honestly, the things that insects are capable of will never cease to amaze me
I, uh, might do that… except I’d probably worry too much about the welfare of the bugs.
Me walking around with a “Free Bugs” T-shirt and when people ask I point out all the little guys around them and tell them which ones are introduced species that they can totally just grab off the street and keep as pets
walking around with a “Free Bugs” tshirt and cargo pants with a lot of very full pockets that are visibly writhing
This is why I eat honey as a vegan: not because I don’t value insects as animals, but because it is generally not produced through cruelty. In general, the bees can leave if they’re being mistreated. I have no problem enjoying the fruits of their labor, because they’re getting something out of it (a sheltered hive, defense and support from human beekeepers, et cetera) and they can leave. It’s not “eating/using something that comes from an animal” that’s the problem, it’s harming or mistreating the animal to get it that I take issue with.
vegans make peace with honey
no shut up do it
Hi, we're the River System! Katlyn (she/they) and Jacob (he/him). Came for the fandoms, stayed for the off-the-wall and the cringe. 22, autistic (language abled and low support needs), Environmental Biology major. Actual Mad Scientists ;) [We do science and don't do sanity!] Mostly this is Katlyn obsessing over bugs and fandoms (Undertale, Hollow Knight, Little Nightmares, Fire Emblem: Awakening, RWBY, Arcane). Also may include photography, dark aesthetics, and general chaos from Jacob. (Cover photo by Sagar Patil on Unsplash)
