First art post for Oakie this year! We've been doing more digital art recently since we got a new laptop/tablet. Thank you @jtranageder1 for voting for our favorite enby acorn!
(the more people vote for Oakie in this poll and like or comment to let us know, the more art we will post)

This is why I eat honey as a vegan: not because I don’t value insects as animals, but because it is generally not produced through cruelty. In general, the bees can leave if they’re being mistreated. I have no problem enjoying the fruits of their labor, because they’re getting something out of it (a sheltered hive, defense and support from human beekeepers, et cetera) and they can leave. It’s not “eating/using something that comes from an animal” that’s the problem, it’s harming or mistreating the animal to get it that I take issue with.
vegans make peace with honey
no shut up do it
Happy birthday Lucina, you deserve a break and some happiness 💙🦋
Happy birthday Lucina, again! (And everyone else… again)
This round will be the hardest yet! Oakie Acorn (they/them) is up against last year’s champion, and we’ll need every vote we can get!
[Image description from alt text: An image of Oakie the Acorn, a yellow acorn mascot with big green eyes, green arms and legs, and a smile. Text on the bottom of the image reads "SUNY Mascot Madness." End ID.]
Vote for Oakie here!
Oakie’s opponent is also… not the nicest. "Wolfie the Seawolf" from Stony Brook University, is quoted as saying these things on the official Mascot Madness webpage.
[Image description from alt text:
A screenshot showing an interview with Wolfie Seawolf. Interviewer: Read any good books lately? Wolfie: I just finished rereading The Art of War. I think using some of the tactics included will help me to win Mascot Madness for the third time in a row. After that, you might as well crown me the supreme ruler of SUNY Mascots. Why even have the other ones? Interviewer: Favorite pizza topping? Wolfie: I've recently grown fond of devouring acorns, I bet they would go particularly well on pizza…
End ID.]
Oakie, by contrast, is:
all about sustainability
the only officially queer mascot in the tournament
also the only plant
Their commentary on their opponents is much kinder!

A screenshot of an interview with Oakie Acorn. Interviewer: How would you celebrate being named SUNY Mascot Madness Champion in 2024? Oakie: The same way I celebrated in 2017 when I won the title – surrounded by the best students, faculty, and staff ever! We had a party that the whole campus attended. My friend, Victor E. Knight from SUNY Geneseo, was gracious enough to come and present me with the trophy and join the festivities. I think it would be great to host Wolfie on campus this year.

You can vote every 12 hours on each browser and device you have access to until the round ends at 3pm on Tuesday. If you vote for Oakie (and like this post, reply, message me, reblog, or otherwise let me know) I will post an original art piece, as I have before!
The last character you drew/wrote about is now stuck in the last game you played. How screwed are they?
Your quest was to find a demon willing to accept your deal, none of them said yes. “Primordial demons don’t make deals, if you go too deep, just turn back” but you went deeper and deeper, meeting the ancient ones that knew no words.
i’m the opposite of ‘i liked it before it became popular’ i only discover new things to like once they’re not popular anymore
The Fell Dragon Grima, the dark deity bent on eradicating humanity, the bringer of the zombie apocalypse, and a lot of fans’ blorbo.
When you first meet them in Fire Emblem Awakening, they’re the Big Bad villain with little actual characterization, but that didn’t stop the fandom from loving them, and they got more lore and characterization in DLC and other games in the franchise. There is soo much Murder Dragon Romanticization in the fandom and it seems to be running on sheer swag and charisma. It’s also true that canon is enough of a mess that you could make the case they’re much less evil than it seems… or maybe that’s the fandom talking. There are Tumblr folk who celebrate “Grimas” every year. Grima should absolutely be a Tumblr Sexyman: he’s the villain certain people love, dark and mysterious and eldritch and full of issues and trauma. The fan fiction this character has spawned includes some of my favorite fanworks.
Their (unwilling?) vessel is none other than the amnesiac player character Robin, who was born into an evil cult for the purpose of bringing their dark god back to life. Robin and Grima are so interconnected that the death of one means the death of the other (a great source of angst, at least until Robin is revived by the power of friendship). A lot of people headcanon that Grima and Robin are actually the same entity, and the varying interpretations of Grima and Robin and how they’re connected are such fun.
Grima is also:
-an artificial being whose creator tried to kill them
-a dragon monstrosity with six eyes and six wings that’s so huge the final battle is held on top of their back
-referred to with mostly he/him but kinda inconsistent pronouns in game, probably some genderfuckery here
-I headcanon Grima is Above Gender
-parent to a Very Traumatized child (or several)
-a GIGANTIC effing DRAGON with six eyes and six wings
-I keep wanting to add more but I can’t let my brain be consumed any further
Pls do not reblog anything with the old disability pride flag, it does cause seizure and migraines, please use the new one which was created by the same person with the feedbacks of many other disabled people.
This is the safe one:
Dont use the zigzag one, your making disabled space inaccessible for a part of the community.
Hi, we're the River System! Katlyn (she/they) and Jacob (he/him). Came for the fandoms, stayed for the off-the-wall and the cringe. 22, autistic (language abled and low support needs), Environmental Biology major. Actual Mad Scientists ;) [We do science and don't do sanity!] Mostly this is Katlyn obsessing over bugs and fandoms (Undertale, Hollow Knight, Little Nightmares, Fire Emblem: Awakening, RWBY, Arcane). Also may include photography, dark aesthetics, and general chaos from Jacob. (Cover photo by Sagar Patil on Unsplash)
