when I learn to animate, I'm so doing this! Though maybe I'll change some things to fit with my version of Vat7k.

Something something, Scylla from Epic song- Having to do with Hugo and Varian and betrayal. Varian like has this huge prejudice against Hugo throughout the whole thing, having to do with a lot of things- Hugo just betrayed their group and V and him had this huge argument where they're on terrible terms atp. Hugo fought back in this argument mostly bc he just wanted to V to see where he was coming from and how much he didn't want it to happen. Varian's beyond heartbroken rn, just shattered and numb that he trusted someone to just have it broken again. It's kinda like The Great Tree incident with Raps and Cassandra on terms of strained but make it 80 times worse. So like they're in front of this giant library type building in my mind right- but like- huge- its HUGE and the doors are very very much locked and this is where the song starts- The lair of Scylla This is our only way home

Hugo: "You're quiet today"

Ulla voice:You hide a reason for shame

H: I've got a secret I can no longer keep

Ulla voice:You know that we are the same ( in this context she's like, hiding. )

H: I opened the wind bag while you were asleep

^ ( basically, Hugo admits to at one point having an opportunity to leave Donella, but in return he gets completely disowned, and Hugo didn't want to lose her. He didn't want to choose, but he obviously looked up to Donella like a parent figure. Since she's all he had)

Ulla voice: Leaving them feeling betrayed

Breaking the bonds that you've made

H:I'm so sorry

H: Forgive me

Varian: Eurylochus, light up six torches

^ ( basically, he's just ignoring Hugo like Ody did originally )

( Ehe, so they use the staff to go inside the library. Its dark and the only light is these blue flaming torches on the walls. Very spooky lighting. )

Hugo: Captain, something approaches

^ ( they hear some shuffling, and Hugo's like "wtf was that-"

( Ulla, showing herself slowly in her weird ghost-like form, not in a pretty way. She's terrifying. )

I miss when I could make stuff without thinking of vat7k.

Yet ANOTHER silly (which for me, means angsty) headcannon

What if, after years of explosions and poud sounds from the fireworks, Yong actually goes deaf?

And yes, I know Varian was around a ton of explosions with his science and everything but the entire point of fireworks is that they explode one way or another and since he'd be a stupid little kid when he started making them he probably wouldn't take proper safety measures, so he would slowly lose his hearing.

And let's say he didn't really notice it, for him barely being able to hear (I wanna say he's completely deaf in one ear and mostly deaf in the other) is just normal for him and while he finds it weird how Yong asks him to repeat everything or speak louder, Varian would just assume its him trying to understand it better but Hugo, that would be a different story.

Hugo gets just a tiny bit sick of having to yell for the kid to hear him, but his annoyance turns to concern when one day Yong almost gets run over when the Caravan's breaks malfunctioned and Hugo had to shove him out of the way since Yong didn't move when he screamed (Varian and Nuru were out buying food or something in this senerio) so he finally starts to actually ask proper questions and Yong just says "Yeah, I can't hear most of the time" or something like it's completely normal?!

So, after hearing all this. Hugo not only teaches Yong (and later the rest of the gang) Ingvarian sign language (since he used it with Olivia sometimes) but made Yong either hearing aids or later on cochlear implants and Yong is just completely flabbergasted at how things normally sound like for people and might get overwhelmed with the sounds so they have to help him get used to it and this could actually help him make fireworks better since he could recalibrate the explosions or something? (Idk how fireworks work) and it would just be reaaaaaaaly cute<3.

headcanon of hugo going from calling yong "sparkles" (when he didnt take him as seriously at first) to "little man" (his sweet way to convey that he's changed how he sees him and thinks the lil guy is capable in his own way too)....

And yong loves the new cool nickname a lot <3

why did i subject myself to this. i’m still gonna do it, though. (these aren’t fully dedicated to any one character, so y’all can still ask about them! just thinking of the overall shows)

-varian got down on one knee to propose to hugo. hugo laughed and said “ha, you’re even shorter now.” there was a moment of absolute silence before hugo realized what was going on. varian started to stand up. hugo frantically begged him to wait and start over.

-cassandra and eugene occasionally called off their rivalry for cass to teach eugene to play chess. cass had realized he didn’t know how (orphan, poor, thief) and said that a future king obviously had to learn. cue surprisingly cute, very gruff training.

-varian is terrified of maximus. maximus can smell the criminal on him. varian has had to hide in a tree from that horse several times.

-there was a point in hugo’s life, after vat7k, where it finally dawned on him that he was safe and happy. varian held him as he cried with too many emotions he couldn’t describe.

-hugo absolutely despises frederic and arianna. he performs elaborate, heist-like pranks on them for varian’s sake. they don’t know it’s him. they’re losing their minds.

-for a long time after his redemption, varian didn’t see anything wrong in his relationship with andrew. he just thought “well, he’s standing in for my dad.” and then he did consciously realize “he’s evil”, but he didn’t actually unpack everything that went on. i don’t think andrew did anything to him, but i think he was extremely creepy, and there’s still something so horrible about a man in a confined space with a boy who was 13 only a year ago.

-upon the separatists of saporia breaking out, andrew made sure to keep varian busy in the castle so he didn’t realize that the citizens of corona were enslaved.

-varian’s truth cookies made pete and stan confess their love.

-nuru is afraid of ruddiger at first (not a lot of wildlife in a meteor-ravaged kingdom). she finally gets over that fear just in time for varian to have to turn ruddiger into beast-ruddiger for some reason. nuru is even more emotionally scarred.

-“plus est en vous” goes differently in my mind. in my ideal reality. in my headcanon. i don’t know exactly what happened, but i do know varian, lance, and eugene play MUCH bigger roles.

-hugo is an emotional drunk. varian is a stupid drunk (while inebriated, he once invented a ship, which had already been invented at the time. ((by “ship”, i mean boat.))) rapunzel is also an emotional drunk. cass is the death-wish kind of drunk that would deliberately try to get run over by a carriage. eugene can keep an objective in mind when he drinks, like getting information out of somebody, but he will also get distracted by a really pretty swirl of wood on the table. lance is a philosophical drunk.

-the whole team, from both shows, hums their big songs to themselves when they’re bored. those things may spring out of their innermost psyches and display themselves in fits of passion, but damn if they aren’t catchy.

-angry once won an arm-wrestling match against lance. no one knows how it happened. lance swears she hypnotized him.

-eugene lets rapunzel paint on him, and she comes to him for fashion advice.

THAT’S ALL I CAN THINK OF RIGHT NOW AND THEY AREN’T EVEN CHARACTER-SPECIFIC SO OH BOY I GUESS I HAVE MORE

Am I the only one who finds it odd that Rapunzel not only resembles Hugo but also Ulla? Not just in appearance or personality, but all three are people Varian grew to love (in different ways) who, in one way or another, ended up hurting him. It's as if the poor guy were cursed...
