Sometimes you've gotta take received wisdom in tabletop RPG design and do the exact opposite on purpose, just to see what happens. I've got a vaguely superhero-adjacent RPG I'm working on right now that flips the whole "the player characters' actions should never result in an NPC's death unless that was their explicit intention" thing turnways and makes it literally impossible to engage in physical coercion of any kind toward another person without some non-zero likelihood of accidentally killing the target in the process, and let me tell you, it's resulted in some fun "okay, how are we going to do this" conversations.

How Sarah probably kept Ray's note as a trophy of sorts just like the embroidery from the second light novel/chapter 181.2 (coincidentally, both given to her by Krone in an act of betrayal).

How somehow amidst everything that was going on in the turnover of power when Isabella became Grandma, she stumbled across the note (defaulting to her being tasked with cleaning out any of Sarah's personal effects since by the time you reach such a position the demons assume you've fully bought into the system and have nothing worrisome to hide).

How potentially one of the Sisters held onto the note and one day in the human world remembered she still had it.

How that Sister might have approached Ray to return the note that he never imagined he'd see again and explain why she had it.

January 29th, 2046 most stressful day in Nigel's life ever - running to Luce to kill him and his servants in roughly six minutes, run back to face Bayon, tricking him into the headbase to kill him off with his pals, run around again to fight against Leuvis of all motherfuckers, making it out of all these battles without a scratch so he can run for the nth time in not even half an hour to push the self destruction button of Goldy Pond and then making a great escape with all of them.
