If you said yes, congrats, today is your lucky day, because, surprise surprise, I am also a fan. This is a propaganda poster totally normal info sheet about Joel Smallishbeans Week, otherwise known as 7 Holy Nights of Jeremy, welcoming fans new and old to participate in a week of prompts dedicated to the man himself, the smallest of beans and the tallest of Joels, Joel Smallishbeans! The event is run by @risibledeer, and uh, not to brag, but *checks nails all cool-like* I’m friends with her and stuff and she asked me to make this poster. So yeah. I’m basically really cool by proxy. Go check out Risi’s pinned post for the prompt list!

If you are a faithful Jeremy, but are only just finding out about this event and are panicking because you only have three days to put together your pieces, not to worry! We’re not gonna not enjoy your art / writing / live donkey / other thing just because it’s a little late! The more participants, the better. Spread the word of Jeremy throughout the land of tumblr, no matter how long it takes you! Or don’t, if you don’t feel like it, ig.

There is no pressure to do all the days, do whatever you want to, any level of participation is welcome, appreciated, and encouraged!

*insert interesting caption here* um, the lore is cool. I’m too lazy to explain it all here, so you’ll have to take my word for it.

I know we usually use the crane wives as like the go-too fandom songs, and no hate there love the crane wives, but I also think it’s fun to consider other bands for fitting the life series. Like, I would love to see everyone taking their absolute favorite band and making a metaphorical conspiracy board with red yarn and a crazed look in their eyes as they stab the thing in the middle that all the string leads to and everything for how it connects to the life series. For instance, I love My Chemical Romance and I think their music fits really well with the life series, so here are six wips that I will hopefully improve upon and color later connecting some specific songs to, well, really just the bad boys and their double life pairings at the moment, just cause it worked out that way that those are the ones I got into posting shape first, but I have tons more in the works and I’m really excited to share^^! Also sorry for the really long rambling post lol

I’m probably most proud of the boat boys one, but over all I’m really proud of these in general and hope to finish this project at some point, although given the scale that I’m going for that might not be for a while lol. Also if you wish for me to elaborate on my choices, I will gladly do so!

anyway, in other news I have been posting less cause idk I’m very tired and stuff. School is taking like all of my energy for doing literally anything rn lol. Hopefully I will be able to get a break, and perhaps post more soon. And also maybe answer my messages. *looks at my million bajillion notifs*. eventually. If you haven’t heard from me in a gazillion years, this is probably why lol. The other reason I have been posting less is because I’m working on a big project (well, another big project. I count this drawing as sufficiently big lol) that is taking a lot of time but hopefully I can pull it off. I’m not gonna say what it is here and instead will be vague and mysterious because I can heheh.

Oh my gosh Rain thank you sm!!! I got a drawing ask from deityoftherain I feel so famous lol. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to get to all of them right now, but I’ve got one done, and hopefully in the future when I have more time I can do more of them (I'm particularly excited by the one I have planned for Scott, flower husbands my beloved they were literally my first fandom love, so I neeeed to do a piece with them)

but yeah here is my piece for my number 4 song: Sleep, by My Chemical Romance, with Pearlescent Moon

I wanted it to feel like a glitchy and vaguely haunted old cassette tape, because that’s always what I picture when I hear the recording in the beginning of the song. I didn’t quite manage to capture the vibe I was going for, but I’m proud of the drawing overall. Also I messed up the lyrics slightly- it’s good night not good bye -and it’s driving me insane but I don’t have time to fix it lol. Also 4:42 is the length of the song. Ramble about why I chose red pearl for this piece under the cut (I will admit it was something of a coin flip between whether this song would go to Pearl or Joel, but in the end there was another song on the list that I really wanted to use Joel for. Also Joel would never feel bad about the murder lol /silly) vvvvvvvvv

This song feels so Pearl to me because it’s talking all about how haunted the person feels (technically The Patient from the black parade but I just tried to go off of what the individual song is about rather than the album lore) by all of the bad things they’ve done in the past, claiming not to feel bad and saying their irredeemable, while simultaneously condemning themselves and torturing themselves with guilt. They don’t think they’re worthy of being saved because of “the monsters that [they’ve] been” and sort of switching back and forth between a sort of morbid joy at the freedom of giving in to being unforgivable because they don’t have to search for forgiveness and a terrible sorrow and regret and fear at the destruction in their past, the loss that they caused themselves and are now suffering for, the guilt over the people they’ve hurt. They see no redemption for themselves, and feel both pain at the horrors that set them on this path and peace at letting their worst natures consume them, no longer having to try to walk backwards and instead marching forwards on the path of darkness and, if we tie it back to the album lore, the parade of death. If you have to be there, why not take the lead?
