Whump Prompt #571

The whumpee gets laid up for a while. It takes them forever to become coherent enough to leave the hospital, and even then they have a long recovery ahead of them.

During this time, perhaps it began when the whumpee is still delirious on painkillers, a character starts watching a TV show in their room while they keep vigil.

Perhaps this character is their best friend, maybe it’s someone they don’t necessarily get on well with. Maybe is the oldest or the youngest, but either way they begin to bond over the show. Perhaps it’s the thing that brings the whumpee back to reality, as through a haze of painkillers they mutter and offhand comment about the plot or characters:

“Who does he think he is.” A mumbles beneath an oxygen mask, “cheating bastard…”

The two characters continue to watch this show, and others if they finish it quickly. They bond over it so much, other characters have entered the room to A (smothered by blankets because B is convinced A still needs coddling) leaning against B as they argue/cry/laugh over the antics on screen.

When the whumpee gets hurt in a combat situation, and they can’t get to safety on their own, and they don’t think anybody is going to realize that they’re missing and come back for them. One of their teammates noticing that the whumpee is missing within a few minutes of their team starting to regroup, and them searching for the whumpee until they find them. Them getting a medic to the whumpee, and the whumpee passing out as they move them to somewhere to have their wounds treated. The whumpee waking up in a warm, soft bed, surrounded by their teammates, all of whom look overjoyed to see them awake, and realizing that their teammates care about them more than they had thought.

Forever thinking about that White Collar episode where Neal and Peter get trapped in a room with no oxygen and Neal passes out.

me, with a vague plot idea, 1 (one) character name, and an outline that consists of mostly question marks:

Exasperated caretaker/team member dialogue

“What part of stay there don’t you understand?!”

“I swear- you’ll be the death of me!”

“I’m going grey- You’re making me go grey.” “You are not going grey, you’re 25!”

“Are you trying to give me a heart attack?!”

“Okay, new rule- From now on your plan is not allowed to be ‘run in head-first and see what happens’.”

“Is asking you to shoot me a little ‘I’m not dead’ text every now and again really too much to ask??”

“So let me get this straight. You heard gun-fire. And you ran. Towards it?!”

“That’s it- You’re in time out.” “What?! I’m not a child-“ “I don’t care! Time out!”

“Must you bleed on everything I own??”

There’s a huge misunderstanding and character B ends up hurting character A out of anger for something it turns out they didn’t actually do. B’s guilt when the truth is revealed is immeasurable.

Only once they take a brief moment to sit down does Character B realise how tired they really are.

And telling them personally you want more PSon and even why you do if you have time (the more you write the better, but something is better than nothing at all!) The more people who do this the better chance at them seeing and noticing. It only takes about a minute and I’ve already done it. @ing FoxTV on Twitter will not reach the people who actually make these choices, but do that, too, as long as you also do the feedback form. The goal is to get them to notice their fans want it renewed, to make us unable to be ignored. Honestly, the goal is to annoy them enough they just get pissed and say FINE ALRIGHT HERE, like, that’s how shows get saved lmao, showing we’re dedicated and won’t stand for it being canceled before its time. The viewership is down an entire million from 3.3 at the S1 finale to 2.3 for both eps 1&2, and it’s likely the competing it with This Is Us (and on 1/19, NCIS). FOX already has 6 new pilots for the fall season, and PSon is their LOWEST RATED SHOW. It’s already being predicted as “most likely to be canceled” by people who do/count up TV Ratings and predict these things.

FOX likely will make their official decision in May (though it’s possible earlier) so the important thing is we start doing this kind of stuff now before it’s too late. That way even if it is canceled still, the show will have a better chance at getting picked up somewhere else knowing how many people like it and fight for it and will watch it.

Please reblog this. Please let people know. If you are or know a Neilson family try to get them to watch live and not delayed (DVR) or Hulu as those count but not seemingly as much. I don’t want this show ending after a cut-short season like it isn’t even worth a proper chance to be better.

It has been done before, even on the FOX channel, but the fanbase is literally entirely on the line for saving it. And I know a lot of people really love this show and the characters, and I have a really good feeling what could happen if everyone gets together to save it.
