Hi Anon! But seriously, Bruce Wayne’s self loathing is always so delicious. He’s so used to seeing the underbelly of Gotham, has become so entrenched in the darkness and moral decay of the criminal world, that he can’t believe someone could use their power to be good.

Then comes along Superman, an alien who isn’t as tainted. Who earnestly tries to be good. And it’s so fucking baffling for Bruce because he’s so used to ulterior motives and corruption. He can’t fit him into his world view.

And I just think that the advent of Clark Kent, who disproves everything Bruce has come to believe about power, is the moral reckoning that this version of Batman needs. He reshapes Bruce’s worldview. Is the light that illuminates the darkness that’s grown inside of him.

How can Bruce NOT grasp onto that. Clark, just by being himself, saved Bruce from his own inner darkness. And then he died. Because of Bruce’s refusal to just dig a LITTLE deeper or listen.

I can envision Bruce obsessing over this. Obsessing over being /wrong/ and failing Clark. Eventually just obsessing over Clark…

I don’t know, I’m rambling. But Clark basically saved Bruce from himself and Bruce is a lonely, single, obsessive and poorly adjusted man. How does Bruce NOT fall in love???

Summary: A series of drunken one night stands has led to this moment, the one where Draco confronts his past while in Harry's claim. After this scene, everything in their relationship might change.

“There was only darkness. A pitch black that consumed Draco’s world, leaving him nothing. Nothing but Harry and the scratching of the carpet against his knees.

The soft swish of a foot brushing against the floor came from behind him, followed by the light thud of a footstep. Draco’s head instinctively swung in reaction to the noise, his hands twitching on his knees, begging to reach out. His entire body was aching to move. Without a single physical bond aside from the one across his eyes, he could. In theory. But the knowledge that Harry, his master, was standing behind him, watching, forced him to remain still and compliant.

Draco’s mind was confined and he was never freer.”

Belinda has to trick Clive to go on the date by taking him to the dumpling soup spot (his favorite restaurant btw) and tell him it’s a date at the last minute before ditching. But! Lo and behold it’s with the one person who can ask about his research and already has the background of knowledge of what it’s about.

Jason who has also been secretly going home and researching the topic because he’s curious and perpetually hungry for knowledge.

A modern day AU where Clive is a lonely researcher and Jason works part time at a dumpling soup shop and at an office supply store.

Clive only goes out for three things - food, office supplies, and basic necessities. Somehow he runs into Jason doing all three of these. And somehow, the chef/server who will let Clive rant about his research, coworkers, the university (all while looking very interested), remembers his name and says hi to him every time they see each other.

Clive, hurt, “you didn’t tell me.” 🥺

It’s the way Jason and Clive are in so in sync. Not even Farrah knew what was going on.
