I just finished avatar (atla) and was thinking about how good fandoms will usually always have another fandom in particular that they are linked to: Avatar and voltron, rise of the tmnt and lego monkie kid, danny Phantom and the Batman universe (???), good omens and our flag means death, etc etc

It’s allllll balanced, like the four elements in avatar. Now all we need to know is which one is the fire nation and when will they attack

This? This moment right here? It means the WORLD to me🥹 (ive always wanted to see some more insight on the Iroh - Lu Ten - Zuko dynamic)

And then Zuko decided to stay there and sit by his uncle's side instead of leaving like Ozai

Iroh having the portrait and casket of Lu Ten, his son, to one side and having Zuko to the other... okok, that got to me🥹

Right Hand Law. Never Over the Heart

Another ability ramble but Kaminari never seems to use electricity from his left hand, he uses both hands to generate massive charges semi frequently and his right when running with his Pointer, but at no point does he exclusively use his left.

Now this is likely down to him being right handed and him knowing Flemings Right Hand Law, but I was thinking in true over analyzing fashion There has to be another reason!

Then I remembered back to when I watched Avatar, when teaching Zuko lightning redirection Iroh tells him to direct all of the energy through the stomach, now lighting redirection is the movement of energy from one hand to the other, moving through the stomach as to not have the energy travel across the heart and fatally injure the user of the technique.

Now technically it doesn't seem that Denki has issues with the electricity hurting his body other than his brain but knowing him he might have taken this advice to, well I was going to say heart but that's were it shouldn't be going, so stomach then. It also might have been slight fear that the generation could damage his heart in a similar way to his brain so he uses the right hand to keep as much power away from his heart as possible.

Considering that Todoroki was based off Zuko, it doesn't sound to far fetched to me that Horikoshi included this as possibly homage to Avatar.

Zuko has lightning scars

But not just on his chest. Everytime he redirects lightning the current going through his fingers, down his arms, across his body and out through his other hand is so great that it leaves nerve damage on the tips of his fingers, where the the lightning enters his body.

And with this nerve damage comes small thin and long scars that run down his fingers and along his forearms before they begin to fade. I just think it's a really cool character design, especially with the colour of his lightning scars ( the one on his chest would look like a starburst of white instead of the reddish hue after it heals properly) and that scar on his chest also spans out to a larger area.

Everytime he redirects lightning bc azula is cray cray the tips of his fingers become a harsh red temporarily and steam rolls off of his body as he cools down. His hair becomes frazzled from the amount of electricity he's holding.

There's so much more character design potential with zuko. I love it when I see artists draw zuko with more scars other than the ones his face and chest.

All I’m saying is that Prince Zuko, the proud son of a fascist world-dominating warlord, did not become one of the most beloved characters in all of Western media just for you to turn around and literally wish death on a confused, angry teenager poisoned by his environment.

It is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If you take it from only one place, it becomes rigid and stale. Understanding others, the other elements, and the other nations will help you become whole.

Naturally Zuko has the prettiest smile on the planet - people who never smile always do - and the first time Katara sees it, it’s like a punch in the gut. She needs to see him smile again. No - more than that, she needs to be the reason he smiles again.

Somehow it ends up being a lot easier than she anticipates.
