i'm just curious bc i'm watching How to Train Your Dragon and i always forget how happy and calm it makes me feel. i mean, i did name my cat after Toothless the dragon. but i also love Lion King, that's my Disney comfort movie. and my Ghibli comfort movie is Spirited Away. watching any of these when i'm in a foul mood or my anxiety is high always helps 🥰 but i watch them just for fun too, not only when i'm in a mood. what about you?

Ok, i'm in love with this manga not only the artstyle is awesome, the worldbuilding and the caracters had me waiting to see more of them. This desing is a mix betwin the desing we already saw in the manga and qifrey desing + a scar from the chapter 67 to make more parallelisms between them.

the found family aspect in wha is so beautiful. all of these girls have grown so close to one another. each apprentice has their own set of skills and dreams that compliment the other. the development of agott & coco’s relationship is so beautiful to see. the best part of the found family dynamic is qifrey’s devotion to his students. he cares for them and goes above & beyond to ensure their happiness. olruggio also watches out for the girls & is always more than willing to lend a helping hand. these two men are so diligent as teachers and caring like father figures. the atelier is full of so much love!!!
finally caught up on witch hat atelier!!! I LOVE COCO AND AGOTT AND RICHEH AND TETIA AND QIFREY AND OLRUGGIO SO MUCH!!!!! i love coco’s relationship with the girls especially agott and how qifrey & olruggio always prioritize the girls’ education & safety. you could feel the love they have for one another!! the beauty of magic and learning, the found family, the whimsical aspects, the dark tragic moments, all of these parts are done SO WELL. THIS MANGA IS JUST PERFECTION!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH <333333
witch hat atelier does found family so well. i love how it's so easy to see how much qifrey and olruggio care for the girls. it hasn't been long since coco joined the atelier, but she's adjusted so well it's almost like she's been there for years. watching her become closer to agott, richeh, and tetia is so beautiful to see!!! just two girl dads watching their four daughters become the best witches they can be <333
just read chapter 40 of witch hat atelier and my initial reaction was, "what the hell just happened?" but after rereading it, i think i've come to better understand qifrey's motives.
before it happens, qifrey starts to talk about how happy he is teaching the girls magic. he's at peace in his atelier, living and taking care of the four girls alongside olruggio but he still hasn't let go of what happened in his youth. in fact, the peacefulness he feels every day has made his uneasiness worse. now it isn't only just him that could be hurt. it's his precious students and olruggio that he has to lose now. there's much more at stake than there was before.
so while he begins to confess the truth, he doesn't allow olruggio to keep his memories. qifrey's trauma still haunts him even at his happiest. for some people, they would leave the horrible things in the past to enjoy the good they have in the present. but for qifrey it's an impossible thing to do. it would be so much better to have at least ONE person to confide to and have support you, but qifrey doesn't allow it. it's completely irrational and bound to create problems in the future, but it shows how far qifrey is willing to go to achieve his goal. he CHOOSES to look for answers all on his own knowing the path will be difficult.
qifrey is someone the girls look up to; we see him as a cheerful guy who is someone we can count on. but this chapter showed us that he's still that child searching for answers. it doesn't matter how much time has passed or how much wiser or stronger he has become; he can never move on from his past until he stops the brimmed caps' plan.
i wish qifrey acted in some other way or allowed himself to lean on olruggio but it adds more to his character. he's complicated; he has his own agenda, yet his love for the people in his life is undeniable. he will stop at nothing to find answers but won't endanger his loved ones to get them. this chapter was so well done, and i'm excited to see where this takes the story!
finished reading the second pentagram test arc. what a beautiful end to a fantastic arc. i loved getting to know more about richeh! at this point, each of the four girls all have made their personality and desires known which i love! they are all so different and offer something the others don’t have to the story. their differences combined make them stronger together.
we've seen how magic can cause suffering in this arc, but we also know how the young witches have the power to change it or at least make a slight difference. although euini isn't back to normal, there's hope that there is a way to save him. despite how awful magic can be, trusted adults like qifrey & olruggio give them the guidance & care to show the girls the right path.
such a beautiful arc full of character development & story progression, as well as amazing art. it's my favorite arc in wha so far!!
i started reading witch hat atelier and i’m so happy i did! not only is it absolutely beautiful but the story is so interesting!! currently on volume 3 and i’m more invested every chapter! i love coco & the girls so much along with qifrey! although the overall story is very whimsical and sweet, i love the dark undertones as well. very excited to see what comes next!
Whitewashing y la representación latinoamericana
Voy a empezar diciendo que , obviamente no tengo nada que ver con muchos de los países latinoamericana , soy mexicana ,aunque e conocido gente Argentina, y hondureña, pero nada más,a si que si llego a hablar de otros países, en su mayoría son cosas que e leído, o comentarios de personas de estos países, aclarado esto, empezemos
Que es el whitewashing?, básicamente, es dar características caucásicas a personajes de color , con intenciones de agradar al público caucásico , a si que desgolsaremos algunos ejemplos de personas, ya sea latinas o de acendencia latina , y veremos si entran en esta categoría o no , o como afecta la vicion que tenemos de las personas latinoamericanas
Iniciaremos hablando de honey lemon, por un tiempo, hubo mucha discusión de su físico, pero francamente, estoy de acuerdo con que no se parece a la mayoría de Latinoamericanos, es cierto que hay personas latinas con piel clara, ojos verdes, y pelo rubio,de hecho se parece un poco a mi hermana
Pero no quita que son características poco comunes en países latinoamericanos, además de que esos rasgos , suelen darte ciertos privilegios según el país donde estés, están representado a una persona que en estados unidos,y en muchos países latinos , tendría privilegios por su tono de piel , el cual muchos no tenemos
De hecho , es curioso, no supe que era latina hasta años después, por lo mismo que tiene un físico poco común , y no me mal entiendan, es bueno también representar a las personas latinas de rasgos caucásicos, se hablará de eso más adelante, pero cuando tu único personaje latino , no se parece a la mayoría de población Latinoaméricana , no puedes culparme por pensar que solo era una chica caucásica estadounidense, y no, no creo que sea española , ya que su actriz de voz es de ascendencia latina
El siguiente personaje , o familia, de la cual vamos a hablar, que será importante para hablar del resto es , la familia rivera en coco , me gustó mucho coco , pero no niego que tiene sus problemas, realmente no blanquea a los personajes, pero el único problema, es que solo representa a los latinos mestizos
Lo que sigue es una lección de historia,algo que paso en México, y de hecho en muchos países latinos, es que con la colonización, llegarían cientos de personas de todas partes, africanos , caucásicos, rumanies,hasta asiáticos, como concecuencia,proboco un mestizaje curioso (que se retomará esto después) provocando que a si como hay personas como honey lemon,las haya como felix y isabela de encanto
A si que solo representar al latino de rasgos mestizos, podría ser una poco raro ,más cuando en mi país hay gente negando las raíces afro
Y ahora hablaremos de los ejemplos que me parecieron positivos, y seria la familia madrigal , yo también viví en una casa intergeneracional, y algo que notaras, es que a diferencia de los riveras , es más común que no todos se parezcan
Mi propia familia es muy diferente, encontrarás desde personas de piel clara , como de piel oscura, por eso amó como la familia madrigal, representa a muchas personas latinoamericanas
Hay gente con físico más causicos , como pepa y camilo , hay gente con rasgos más afro , como felix y Antonio, de hecho la mayoría tienen rasgos más mestizos, y también se me hizo un detalle curioso , que isabela sea la que más resalte por su belleza, siendo de la familia la que más rasgos indígenas tiene
Lo que me lleva a hablar de pepa , realmente, a diferencia de honey lemon, no tengo problema con que sea de piel clara , pero es porque hay más personajes latinos , de diferente físico, y actitudes, puedes empatizar con ella , y con el resto de la familia, su físico es solo para demostrar la diversidad de Colombia, que de hecho,de latinoamerica, por su posiciones geográfica, encontrarás a personas de físicos más diversos
Y me voy a la serie de maya y los 3 , que francamente es muy buena , veanla , pero volvamos al tema , maya y los 3 es una seria con diversidad de físico, están las personas indígenas como la propia maya , gente afro como rico , y hasta gente mestiza , como acat
Pero hablemos de los personajes de piel Blanca, chimi es mi personaje favorito, y si bien también hubo controversia por su piel , al igual que con pepa , era para demostrar la diversidad racial en Latinoamérica, además, es muy curiosa la inversión de roles
En muchos países de Latinoamérica, es más probable tener ciertos privilegios, si tu piel es clara , pero a qui es al revés, ella, por tener piel clara , es vista como , muchos latinos veríamos a las mujeres de rasgos indígenas o afro , como fuera de lugar , invierte los roles
Lo que hace que tengamos un cast más diversos de físico, lo cual , me gusta , hace que todos los latinos , sin importar, si tenemos un físico parecido a los nativos o no , podamos vernos u sentirnos orgullosos de nuestro color de piel , y cultura , sin que alguien sea mejor por su color de piel , de hecho,al final, la tesis de la serie es que juntos , sin importar las diferencias, podemos lograr grandes cosas
Pero la serie no es perfecta, de por si se me hace raro de los dioses , estén codificados como personas europeas, pero mostrarlos como el villano, a una codificación de los europeos que vinieron a esclavizar a los indígenas, podría se una interpretación adecuada, más cuando muchos latinos enaltecen a los colonialisadores caucásicos, mientras rechazan las raíces nativas , si no me creen , busquen a Octavio paz ,presidente de Argentina , y lo que piensa de los brasileños y mexicanos
Lo que me lleva a hablar de zats , el cual, esta codificado como una persona mestiza, maya también de hecho , pero al final, es curioso como , un chico de piel clara , queda con una chica con la piel más oscura, lo cual muchos interpretaron como una relación interacial
Que en los tiempos de la Colonia, la mayoría de relaciones interaciales , con alguien de físico caucásico, significaba abuso sexual, y abandono del producto, por eso se volvió controversial
Pero francamente, creo que las intenciones eran otras, mostrando como todos somos diferentes, como independientemente de nuestro color de piel, nuestro país, nuestro género etc , podemos unirnos y hacer un cambio de verdad, zats al final, es el único que puede entender a maya , aún si ella se crió con humanos , y el con dioses, siguen apoyándose, son diferentes, pero los une la gloria de un guerrero , y el honor , son más parecidos de lo que piensan
En conclusión, no está mal representar personas latinas de piel clara o oscura ,de ojos cafes o verdes,lo importante , es dar a conocer la diversidad , la tradición, los valores , que nos representan a los latinos , darle más luz a personas diferentes, podría hacer grandes obras , como maya y los 3

Recently I've seen some posts with ideas for a Coco-Encanto crossover. It gave me inspiration for making one of my own:
After Un Poco Loco was released, it became a huge success (not as big as Remember Me, mind you) which left Ernesto and Héctor with quite the amount of money. While Ernesto went to buy a big mansion for himself, Héctor decided to save half of it and spent the rest in a simple wedding & honeymoon with Imelda. Where did they go? A Colombia tierra querida, por supuesto! Let's say they were given a tour of all thermal floors and one day when Imelda was buying gifts for her family, she met Alma. What's to happen between two newlywed women? A wholesome friendship, of course (low-key with Pedro's lyrics and Héctor's melodies Dos Orugitas may have come to life, but we're focusing on the wives here). When the honeymoon was over, they became pen-pals, exchanging recipes, chismecito and pregnancy tips, but suddenly...the letters stopped coming, and Héctor left.
I know this is where everything falls apart bc the triplets are 50 and Mama Coco is 108, but ignore that detail plz
Cut to El Día de Muertos 50 years later, Mamá Imelda asks 16 years old Miguel (he was 12 in 2017) to please find whatever happened with her old friend. When Miguel and little Coco (I actually can't find a reason for letting a minor travel travel to another with his 5yo baby sister, but why not) finally find Encanto, the town has no idea what to make of the newcomers. Can they let them in? Can they let them go and risk to be exposed? The answer will lie on the Madrigal family.
I'd like it to be a story of both personal growth and Miguel and Mirabel falling in love, but I'm not sure how to make it work.

Chapter One/Part Two:When Can I See You Again
Later at night Miguel mother came in
Mama:"Hola mijo."
Miguel:"Hola mama."
Mama:"I have your costume ready for Halloween."
Miguel smiles and hugs his mother. But she sees a punch mark on his cheek.
Mama:"Oh Dios mío what happened to your face?"
Miguel:" Oh um.... It's just....i fell and hit a small....rock."
Mama:"Oh ok well i can fix that for you honey."
Miguel smiles as he waited for his mom to get an ice pack for his cheek.
Later on Miguel's mother finish putting an ice pack on his cheek and kiss him on the forehead.
Mama:"Goodnight mijo i love you."
Miguel:"Goodnight mama i love you too."
As Miguel waited for the rest of the family to sleep. He sneek out of his room and go back to the graveyard.
Miguel:"H-hey Hector...i just wanna say that (sighs) what i wanted to say is that....when can i see you again? Because i really miss you....anyway i should get going now...i love you buenas noches."
(Land of the Dead)
At the land of the dead everything had chance scince Ernesto de la Cruz was gone for good. Everyone was replacing him but the Rivera family are happy to have Hector and Coco a part of the family.
Hector and Imelda may have some on and off relationship but now they're together again and then they finally have Coco. Hector was so happy to see his daughter again, they spend so many times together and having fun.
But then Hector felt empty inside there is something missing. He miss his great,great grandson Miguel he love having him around and he couldn't stop thinking about the fun adventer that they had.
He was wishing that if they could see each other again. But it's turns out Hector can see Miguel talking to him but he can't talk back to him.
when can i see you again? Because i really miss you(rewinding)when can i see you again? Because i really miss you(rewinding)when can i see you again? Because i really miss you.
Hector had been up all night listening to him. And he can tell how much he miss him.
Hector:"(sighs)"
Imelda:"Hector?"
Hector turn his head around seeing his wife Imelda walking in the room and rest her head in his solder.
Hector:"I miss him Imelda."
Imelda:"I know, i miss him too."
Hector:"He was like....like my best friend but thought he is my great great grandson and i don't know if that's a real thing?"
Imelda:"Well...you can visit him again."
He smiles a little and then think about what Imelda had said. Maybe they can see each other again someday.
Remember Me Chapter One/Part One:When Can I See You Again
It's had been only two years scince Miguel visit his ancesister at the Land of the Dead.
Him and his family are now alow to have music but mostly every night Miguel visiting his family members at the graveyard.
But mostly he talks to is his great,great grandpa Hector.
He tells him everything like how he's doing in school or how his family doing, he loves talking to him and he told him about his great,great,granddaughter Julie she's only one years old now.
And he can never forget the fun adventure that they had. He can never forget him.
On October 30th, Miguel is in band class his teacher and students loves his music everyone dose, and he always play a song "Remember Me" for his little sister she loves it which it made Miguel very happy.
Miguel:"Abuelita i'm going out i'll be right back!"
Abuelita:"Okay mijo be careful!"
Papa:"And don't talk to strangers!"
Miguel:"Don't worry i won't i love you!"
As Miguel started running fast to see Hector but lucky Dondie follows him.
Miguel:"Hola Hector it's good to see you again well i mean i can't see you i am just talking to you.(ahem) Anyway i just wondering how's things with you?, (fake laugh) and....i'm talking to myself. Well i'm fourteen now and i'm doing well at school and i (sighs) the reason why that i came here to talk to you is that....i really miss you and I wish that i can see you again-OW!"
Miguel turned around and saw two boys . They are bullies to Miguel. One is named Carlos and the other one named Juan.
Carlos:"Hey there loser!. You talking to yourself again?!(LAUGHING)"
Miguel:"You know that's not really funny when you making fun of the people who past away!"
Carlos:"Well to us it is!"
Juan:"What are you going to do about it huh loser!"
Miguel tried to hit one of the boys but he miss it and fell on the floor witch made the bullies laugh.
Carlos:"And also, Why do you even called your great great great grandfather Hector? I thought his named was Ernesto de la Cruz? "
And that made Miguel even more angrier because ever since that Hector told him what happened between him and Ernesto de la Cruz.
Miguel:"(yells)I don't want to hear that name ever again!"
He tried hitting them again but this time Carlos punch Miguel in the face. And started to beat him up .
But luckily Miguel kicks Carlos in between the legs and quietly run straight home.
Back home Miguel run to his room slammed the door wish made Julie started to cry.
Miguel:"(sobs)I'm sorry Julie."
He tried to rock her to sleep but she's still crying so he put her in her babycrib grabbed his guitar and sings her a lalluby.

Julie slowly falling to sleep and Miguel slowly smiles and lays down in his bed thinking about what the boys said.
