WIP for ‘After Training’

Thorin and Frodo are going back home after a very busy afternoon of goofing around training.

He’s getting a little misty eyed remembering his nephews being that little and also realizing how tall his little half hobbit son is already getting.

Oh this character has brain damage of a learning disability? They are treated with the same level of respect and understanding as everyone else and what ever they are able to contribute from creating things to simply being present with their friends and family is enough

Oh this character is gender queer? Screw it let’s take the entire fandom and just remove gender constructs as we know them from several races. Making any sexism or homophobia seem as truly strange and off putting as it is not normal in these societies.

Headcanons/my canon with this version of Frodo

-Frodo loves the rookery and spends a lot of time up there, sharing Bilbos biscuits with his feathered friends

-Thorin makes Frodo a sword with a mithril core called Khazinul, or the silent fang. Light enough for his half Hobbit son to wield with terrifying speed and in near total silence.

-Frodo is never likely to become king unless it is for a very short time towards the end of his life, he will likely step out of succession all together unless something happens to both Fili and Kili. And as such Kili trains him to be Filis other guard and the pair of dark haired Durin men look like slinking shadows behind the future golden king of Erebor and so they are given the name ‘Dûmkhaz’ or ‘twin shadows’

-it wasn’t long after Erebor was reclaimed that Frodo came into the world and Thorin couldn’t justify dressing his son up too much while his people were still finding their footing so he got a lot of very over sized hand me downs, the only new items he got where knitted by Ori

If a hobbit is 4”0 and a Dwarrow is 5”0 then a baby hobbit would be 4/5 the size of a Dwarf baby.. all this to say, we need to collectively agree to start drawing baby Frodo much smaller in Thorins arms

Maybe making a sticker pack :3 maybe

Dwobbit Frodo loves his Aunt Dis.

Frodo might be a tornado with a sword but he’s also rather sensitive by dwarven standards and while Dis is as tough as a steel capped boot she’s also a dame and a mother and loves her sulky, sensitive little nephew.

Frodo: *storming into Dis’s Chambers* I’ve had enough! I just can’t!

Dis: *looking up from a length of chain she was closing* Oh?

Frodo: *Standing there with his hands balled in his shirt lip quivering* they make fun of me! Even- even when I beat them! Even when I train harder and fight better

Dis: *standing and bonking her head against her nephew with a chuckle* that’s called jealousy dear one.

Frodo: they aren’t jealous of me! They said I’m a cry baby

Dis: a cry baby hmm? Sounds like a peddle a used to know

Frodo: Dwarves don’t cry..

Dis: ah but this one did, all the time, even now I think he weeps when no one is looking for he has a lot to cry about

Frodo: who?

Dis: Thorin

Frodo: WHAT!? âdâ doesn’t…what?

Dis: yup! Your father was a the biggest cry baby of them all even at your age!

Frodo: *stunned*

Dis: I’m pretty sure that’s why he sulks when he’s upset because if he spoke loudly his voice would crack…

Frodo: *wipes his eyes and laughs* that’s horrible!

Dis: just.. don’t tell him I told you or there will be a royal funeral

Frodo: for who?

Dis: who ever loses the death match your âdâ would challenge me to for telling his son he has emotions other then angry and hungry

Frodo: *well and truly cheered up* Thanks zâmar *bumps heads with her lightly and runs off to go back to his training*

Dis: *watching that that little mop of black hair disappear out her door* Mahal.. Frerin would have loved that boy

Fili and kili are babysitting but Fili has a mind to call it ‘baby bothering’ as Kíli takes great joy is teasing and fibbing to his littlest cousin when big bad Thorin isn’t around to protect his dwobbit son from his nonsense. But Frodo has all of Bilbos smarts and Thorins temper and has caught on to Kili’s games and learnt some very colorful gestures in the process.

(Though he may have learnt that particular one from Bilbo)

Post the Battle. It’s a nobody dies/everyone lives, Dw I wouldn’t hurt you all like that.

“How are you feeling, my boy?” Bilbo asked after a drawn out pause.

“Fucking terrible,” Kili groaned, his voice labored and raspy as though he wasn’t getting quit enough air, “Like I've been run over by an oliphant.”

“I'll bet… oh my bravest boys,” Bilbo heaved himself onto the bed edge and wrapped his arms around the raven-haired Durin son, “I was so scared. I thought I had lost all of you. Please don't ever scare me like this again. My heart can't take it, Kili, it really can't.” He wept.

Kili did his best to hug the hobbit to his side, his bruised fingers curling against the back of bilbos coat, the dwarfs somber expression made him look so much like his uncle that Bilbos' heart clenched painfully, and he hiccuped, holding the boy's bruised face in his hands “I am so proud of you” he kissed Kilis forehead.

Kili bumped his forehead against Bilbo’s in response, and they held there, sharing breath for a moment, eyes closed before Bilbo pulled away, gently pushing the boy's hair back out of his face. When Kili's eyes finally opened, they were glassy with tears.

“Please rest, my brave boys.” He reached down and pushed the hair out of Fili's sleeping face. They both suddenly looked so small in his eyes, so wounded and afraid.. it aches Bilbos heart, made his throat painful and tight and his eyes sting.

Kili sunk into the bed with a wince and rested his head against his brothers. Bilbo helped cover them up to their chests with a heavy fur blanket and kissed them again on the forehead, vowing to return as soon as they asked. Kili nodded, closing his eyes

I just wanna let you guys know I started this blog when I was having a hard time at school with a very messy group project worth about 15% of my grade and was feeling very poorly about my art.

Thank you all so much for the love you have shown me so far. Your support means the world, there are several artists following me that I have admired for a long time from the shadows of Pinterest and I never thought anyone would take an interest in my art, seeing these amazing artists seeing my work and going “yes this has value to me” has filled me with pride and made me believe in myself. I like the head canon that hobbits for tails so.. here. Enjoy (he keeps it tied to his leg out of the way so it doesn’t get cut off in battle and also he’s a little embarrassed he doesn’t fit in)

As much as I want to believe Thorin and Bilbo are good dads they definitely forget to pick Frodo up frequently from school.

They think three hours of training entitled then to scones (they’re right and Bilbo is making them some! )

(Sam definitely offers to move the Erebor to assist in the new horticultural endeavors Bilbo has set up)

Frodo probably shaved his face when they return to the Shire to visit Bilbos family and Thorin and company probably have a small emotional break down every time.

Some dwobbit prince Frodo lore explainstions

Half stone is his title due to him being half Dwarf. He was given this title when he wish introduced to the kingdom after birth and has always carried it. His is Half stone as much as he his Frodo.

Silentstride is the name gifted to him due to his half hobbit nature making him incredibly silent and assassin like in him combat style, he’s hard to spot being smaller then your average Dwarf and more light of frame and his hobbit-ish feet and penance for going shoeless even in the harsh Erebor winters makes him move in near silence. It’s also why he wears such a heavy fur over his shoulders, it doesn’t make sound when he moves and muffles the rest of him clothing.

(Also Frodo is his papa’s number one sweet boy, he will always carry Bilbos basket for him at the market and bend down for Bilbo to kiss him on the forehead before he leaves to go sparing with his uncles)
