I &@$#ing hate Final Fantasy 7
and no it's not because I haven't tried everything.
in fact if you trace back almost all tips, guides and information,
you will find my name pop up as the original source.
I ripped this game apart and lapped its juicy insides
and all found was the ridiculous case of
just put everything in there and it'll sell for sure.
the game is fundamentally broken from start to end.
fine to say that discovery is half the fun,
but the real reason you're looking everything up,
is because this game is the most non-user-friendly,
poorly guided, terribly explained, confusing mess,
that I have ever had the displeasure to have experienced,
and those who say that it isn't,
are exactly the same people who defend Skyrim's glitches,
by saying they are a feature of the gameplay.
it's not that it's old or ground-breaking,
it's just bad,
and they poured red spectacles into this garbage gumbo,
because they knew the American market would lap that cream up.
more does not mean better by default,
it's just an excuse for poor management, poor structure,
and a complete disregard for the audience intended for the game.
there were other games available at the time that were huge,
and had features aplenty and a cool story to boot,
they even looked better too,
and they didn't take this much time and effort to do.
you fans are all victims of hype.
face it, you waste your time with it because you want more,
but you will never be satisfied,
because it's the gift that keeps on feeding you scraps.
grow up you big babies and play games that actually satisfy.
Half-Life (the original one) for example,
was simple to learn, hard to master,
and had a narrative that was simple and compelling,
fed to you beautifully through dynamic level events.
Portal 1 and 2 both are fantastic narratives,
with excellent easy to learn, hard to master gameplay.
these are of course highly specific examples,
but it's not hard to find better options,
even for the time of FF7's initial release,
to suit any playstyle, any level of investment,
and be way more coherent in the gameplay mechanics.

FF7 Rebirth Theories (that I have and like to scream about)
Here are some of my theories of what I think is going on in this game and what it means for the FF7 franchise moving forwards.
-The Lifestream is a river of souls, emotions and memories, yet sometimes these threads branch off and create new alternative universes/timelines, like light shining through a prism. Think of the lifestream and its different worlds as the roots of a tree.
-Like how the lifestream connects all lives and how it represents the cycle of life and death, so does the tree of life in various mythologies.
-Now that I look closely at Rebirth's ending I think Aerith is both alive and dead. She's entangled with the physical world and the spiritual world (Lifestream) and can hop between them at will.
-Which is why Cloud and Sephiroth see her as alive, but to the rest of the party, she's dead. She's in a fluctuation of states due to her ancient abilities and uses this to her advantage. (Schrodinger's Aerith lmfao)
-I dunno but I still think there's two Sephiroth's. The evil one who wants to merge all the worlds, become a god, and rule the planet alongside Jenova, and the one from the original OG timeline who's trying to stop this from happening and the one who shows Cloud the multiverses in the first place
-Cloud is slightly aware of what is going on regarding the different worlds/timelines, but the dude has to regain his true self first
I JUST SAW THAT NEW REBIRTH TRAILER AND IM GOING INSANE OVER IT!
Here are my highlights!
-Cloud looks so cool!
-Aerith. Just Aerith
-Marline saying, "If Aerith wakes up, then that big scary man is going to kill her" is getting my brain cooking. I think that this line means that Marline is aware of what's going to happen to Aerith or that it means something regarding the alternative timeline Zack is in rather than the classic "it's just a dream" troupe
-THAT ONE SHOT OF SEPHIROTH
-Cloud talking about loosing his mind and Tifa comforting him, saying it's her turn to save him. Just two best friends looking out for each other
-That one shot of Aerith praying with the Whispers in the background and the black feathers falling. DONT DO THIS TO ME SQUARE ENIX-
-The new theme song is so good!
-the many crumbs sprinkled in the trailer for shippers to go wild over
-Like we see some OG moments, but at the same time, SOMETHING DIFFRENT IS HAPPENING HERE PLOT WISE, which means that WE THEORISTS WON! LET'S GOOOOOOO
I FINALLY GOT FF7 REMAKE. TIME TO PLAY IT.
Highlights from the new FF7 Rebirth trailer that I liked
-Cloud and the gang exploring
-Rufus acting like a Soviet dictator
-Tifa, Aerith, and Yuffie being besties on the golden saucer (also Andrea cameo)
-VINCENT VALENTINE
-Cloud wearing different outfits
-Sephiroth. Just Sephiroth
-Zack being alive in an alternative timeline, while our party is in the main timeline (I WAS RIGHT THERE ARE TWO TIMELINES)
-Sephiroth knowing more shit than before
-"Its upon us, the reunion, when worlds merge. I'm waiting Cloud" SEPHIROTH TRYING TO MERGE THE TWO TIMELINES TOGETHER!?
CLOUD BIRTHDAY!!! Post-Canon design be upon yee!! Advent Children doesn't exist in my mind <3
